Just a quick thought I had, not even fully thought out yet. Create some areas inside cliffs or the ground where you can break into the surface and dig down, not too far but enough so that you can create a network of mine shafts (maybe limited to areas you have claimed to stop griefing and so its not game breaking). This way you could get more resources like gems, oil, metal nodes and maybe even make nodes in the ground have a higher mineable content so you can get a lot more out of them making it more worth it. You could also add into the game things like wooden supports for the shafts to stop cave ins, mine carts and rails to run them on and other things related to mining in the era. Like I said at the start, I haven't fully thought this out yet but I think it could add a new layer to the game and be a lot of fun. Thanks

As it says in the title, I'd like to see some form of books or letters with seal-able envelopes to aid in RP and game-play. You could send messages via a courier to another island and set up trades by post, use books to keep tally of trades and pricing and other info. It would be a great aid to role play and add so much to the game.

I'm not sure if this is exactly a bug report, or more just a weird thing I've done wrong. Either way, I could do with some help from anyone with an answer. A couple days ago while playing in a community unofficial server, I was testing the bug that was happening with taking sloops and rafts across server boundaries and them breaking. I did this a couple times and on the last try, My game crashed. When i tried to load back in I got a message saying "Host Pending Connection Timeout" then my screen freezes and i can't even move the mouse, then it goes completely black and still frozen like its loading into the game. It pops up with snapshot_16 in the bottom left corner of the screen, then freezes again and finally a new popup with crashlog info. When I click ok, the game closes down completely. This only happens with the one server, I can play on all other unofficial/official servers without any problems. I will include pictures and any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

Seems the ramshackle sloop, the raft and the schooner may all suffer from being destroyed trying to cross the boundary, because the boundary is almost a solid wall, when you hit it, it takes all the life from your boat and breaks it. Try repairing completely before crossing and cross really slowly, then you might just have a chance of surviving. The galleon, brig and frigate seem to be fine with crossings currently. Also, more issues are happening on official servers, try to join unofficial ones for a much better time.

Happened to me also, I didn't even see the ship fall apart, I just appear on the other side of the boundary slightly in the air and then fall into the water no boat in sight. So far I've only tested with the ramshackle sloop but it happens every time.
