  1. Being new to this game — unlike many other players who have been here for several seasons — I would like to share my impressions of the neophyte, so to speak. Many years of experience in another MMO — eve-online — constantly encourages comparisons of these two games, especially since they have a lot in common: separate systems in eve-online — sectors in Atlas, stations and messengers with timers — islands with timers, naval battles on ships — space battles on ships. But the obvious advantage of Atlas is that, firstly, it is much more attractive in the graphical part - that is, the player is constantly surrounded by a picturesque environment, unlike eve—online, where for hours you see only a black screen with a dot in the middle and a set of tables around it, and secondly, the variety of gaming experience — if in eve all your interaction with the game world takes place through a ship that you also practically do not see, then Atlas provides much more opportunities: you can act on your own, you can ride an animal and move/fight on it, and finally you travel and fight on a ship. In addition, you move on land, on water, underwater, in the air, on rocks. And your ship is not just a hull that you contemplate only from the outside — it is a collection of structures, modules, guns, sailors that you yourself assembled and placed, and each of which has a real function, not a decorative element. These are absolutely excellent experiences. Now about what I would like "like in eve". According to my impressions, about 90% of beginners quit the game before even reaching the stage of "built a ship and shot Ships of Damned", not to mention a full-fledged naval battle. A person starts the game, builds a base on the island closest to freeport, collects resources for a couple of days, builds a ship. Then he enters the game — the base is destroyed, there are no resources, the ship is destroyed. Does it all over again, mb in a different place. Everything repeats itself. After a couple of such attempts, people no longer enter the game, and the islands are filled with buildings with a timer on which there are some days left before removal. Atlas is a pirate game, yes, and it's tough. But how many players could have stayed in it and made the sector locale a little more lively if they had had more opportunities to develop somehow and feel more interested in the game at the first steps. Another comparison is how much time a new player needs, who is in the game for the first time, to participate in a naval battle with other players, and not as a helpless victim, but as a full—fledged participant. In eve, we can talk about a week, sometimes even a few days are enough to take part in a full-fledged battle on the simplest ship, and dozens of people can participate. In Atlas, according to my impressions, in order to get to what can be called a full-fledged battle, it takes months. On the one hand, this is the result of the fact that the game cannot boast of a large online. And most of those who are online are experienced players who have been playing it for several seasons, they go to sea on RG of mythical quality. What awaits the player who has assembled the first schooner when meeting with such an opponent? The answer is obvious. At the same time, the advantage of a player who has spent months on his high-class ship is so great that novice players on ships of ordinary quality will not be able to defeat him in two or three or even four. And it seems to me that this is another disadvantage of the game: that is, at first the player is encouraged to quit the game by regular raids when they destroy everything that he has collected and built while he sleeps / at work. Then, if he somehow managed to create a base and started trying to reach the battles, he understands that these battles can take place only after months of searching for high—level BP and resources for them. And it will not work to resist even one player with a high—quality ship, even if you gather several friends in the company — although in eve this is one of the strongest sides of pvp: you can bring the most expensive ship with the most expensive modules into battle - and lose it against newcomers if they are 2-3 and they will do everything right and you're going to make a mistake about something. A high-level ship in Atlas, which has many times more damage than the usual one and is many times less damaged than the usual one, which guarantees victory. That is, the only way to defeat the old pirate is to assemble a ship like his. That is, there is no such important moment "now I will gather friends and let us have ordinary and cheap ships, but because we are more we will destroy your dear ship" — which also does not contribute to the arrival of new players, as it seems to me. Perhaps if the bonuses of modules and high—level ships did not surpass ordinary ships so dramatically, this would lead to greater popularity and frequency of naval battles when novice players would assemble small fleets to resist those who can now sink any of their ships with impunity. In addition, greater involvement of novice players in the game would provoke more of their collisions with each other on ships of equal, entry-level, which would greatly diversify the gaming experience. Another point that surprises me is the complete impunity of those who use cheats, duplicate ships. My familiar players lost an island that was attacked by 12 galleons of mythical quality with torpedoes, and when the ship ran out of ammunition during the attack, the attackers simply destroyed it and transferred to a new one with full ammunition. Of course, such brazen and obvious cheating that does not meet any opposition from the developers is very disappointing — because there is no way to resist such attacks.   5. just encountered this issue yesterday and searching for fixes as well. Tried a lot of things, but what it seems come down to is a corrupted save, or something like that. If i spawn as a completely new player with a new player profile, new config settings, but with the same grid saves, and tribe profiles active, the spyglass causes crash. However, starting a new game with no saves, a ton of mods, and literally any graphics settings will allow spyglass to work... looking for a type of workaround at this point and considering deleting old grid saves and seeing what that will do-- I'm in singleplayer. edit-- after testing can confirm it is a corrupted grid save issue. If I remove the last grid save i was in when the spyglass caused the crash, i can spawn somewhere else and use it. But if I delete that save I lose my ship and my tames-- so what's the point...

  7. its boggles the mind, that grapeshot (nothing against them) but that they havent fixed the visual graphics for those that are using xbox series s and x consoles. and from what ive read. even those on pc's are facing the same issue. come on grapeshot sort this graphical issue out for all. thats pc and xbox series s/x owners. this game used to be beautiful and stunning and breathtaking but now it looks like playdough. heck grapeshot if you do not believe those of us that are saying this. just get on the game on a xbox series s/x and see for YOURSELVES.. ya savvy ?
  8. I have looked all over the internet and haven't found a solution yet. Everyone either says "enter this text into the server file" (it's already there..) or 'oh i figured it out, did something dumb' (ok but..what?!) I have followed several tutorials and tried 3 different server management tools (Atlas Server Control, Steam CMD, Atlas Server Controller) and every single one errors on server start up in the same way. I have no idea what I'm not doing, I followed the guides to the dot. I have port forwarded, I run Redis before starting the servers. What the hell is going on I don't know how to check a server type, but to me everything seems to be functioning the same - in that I sailed out of the starter zone, somebody else, got there before me, and claimed an island, and imposed a tax... And deleted my structure, and today when I logged in there was a message instructing me not to build there till they set up "management" so the game is the same. Some ass hat owns an island and I'm sol for being slow/ not trying to claim one cause the WHOLE REASON YOU WIPED WAS TO REMOVE THE ISLAND CLAIMING!
  10. I have a theory. Likely other people did the same thing as me (tried to remember where the bees and ants spawn and prioritize getting a swarm houses there)... but they we're just more successful... If they're are people putting their swarm houses closer and closer to the exact spawn point of the ants and swarm houses vacuum up the ants - no more ants for anybody who's a late comer. To the rest it's as if ants never were.
  11. My Xbox one keeps crashing every time I get to a island, and when I get back on I'm in the same spot move a little and it crashes. I can't even get on the island or close to them. Help please?
  12. Don't worry, it's totally normal to have questions when you're new to forums. Regarding your bear breeding experience, it does sound quite unusual for all the babies to have the exact same stats. While breeding can be a bit unpredictable, it's highly unlikely for every baby to turn out identical unless there's something specific happening.
  13. Hey there! It's great to see you back in the game. If you're having trouble finding iron, you're right that exploring beyond the starter map could help. However, you don't necessarily have to leave the entire starter square grid. Sometimes, venturing to different areas within the same grid can lead to new resource deposits.

You have reduced the shipyards so nicely to 3, I would do the same with the farm structures like mines, lumberyards, quary etc, because many players have 4-5 lumberyards, mines, quary etc standing . I would set these to 1 per island and company so that other or new players also have a chance to set up something and don't immediately lose interest in the game
  15. why is it so laggy? its stop and rollback many times in a minute. It's not my internet all my friends have the same problem. I have buyed the game to my son this weekend and it's a big disappointing maybe i'll ask for a refund. Or any solution? tank you
  16. Well, I have to be honest, I find the smaller map much cosier and also clearer, I'm thrilled. However, I would possibly make 5 servers with the same map so that the players can split up, because there are unfortunately selfish players who take up an enormous amount of space and grids. In this sense, keep up the good work
  17. i dont know where to post this, my first time on a form, but anyway im breeding and idk if im just crazy or doing it wrong or if somethings broke but ive bred like 8 bears and EVERY single baby has the same exact stat to the decimal point. and they were bread at different times with different parents am i doing something wrong??
  18. Return to claim flags ( only A idea ) Start game with 1 company claim flag of 50/100 meter radius. Company flag has a gold cost to keep it active ( 100/24hrs ? ) Each member of the company gets a claim flag at lvl 1 25 meter radius. Each member gets a second flag at lvl 20 then one every 10 lvls after that. Each member flag placed after the company flag adds gold cost to the company flag ( 25g/flag ? ) ANYTHING built outside of claim flag area decays in 24hrs ( ships need different timer perhaps same as tames , you can claim after 10 days ) If company flag runs out of gold ALL flags on entire map go down over 24hrs then decay takes over for another 24hrs.
  19. I stopped playing Atlas a long time ago. This was an early access. 4 years later there is no news, no clues as to whether he is even going to finish the game. I imagine they are focused on releasing Ark 2. But it seems very bad to me that during the last 4 years you have not fixed ANYTHING. For example, the elevators are still bugged half the time it pulls you out of them. I do NOT see that you have made any progress at all. You have only added some totems, which give some buffs in those quadrants. And with that, it gives the impression that it seems good to you. The treatment you are giving to this early access is very sad. The game has no optimization. Nor has it improved in the last 4 years. I keep seeing exactly the same errors that I had at the time. My advice is the following. There should be a lot more quests, a lot more npc to interact with. The world should be PVP AND PVE at the same time. That is, some maps where you cannot attack (PVE) and maps where you can. If you leave a friendly zone it takes an hour or 2 until you can attack (or be attacked, for example). I see that the game had enormous potential. Being able to support franchises like pirates of the caribbean and having the possibility of creating an incredible game... ... you have done NOTHING. The forum is dead. Most of the threads date back to 2019. This was supposed to be a game you were going to finish. I'm still waiting, 4 years later. Are you there?     yoooooo could you contact MS and tell them to add atlas to the xbox beta tv app please i wanna test it out there and play ofc xd and thank you for the many bugfixes, changes and improvements, still alot to do but i see you prep for smth bc it is so many fixes (patchnotes last 4 month on discord, vitamins overeating and so on, requested for years) feels like a release patch xd with bugs ofc but its ok i hope we see us soon in UE5 and btw tell jeremy and the other ark people like jat , i told him in the past already to handle things the right way so idk what is happening here... would be pretty stupid.., tell em if they rel ark1 again with UE5 and is incompatible to ark_UE4 save files of any form it is like deleting the game and killing it and your whole playerbase, makes no sense at all if you rel ark2 to f around with ark1... what do you wanna do delete one of the best games ever made? or you wanna delete the progress so you can run ark1 and 2 at the same time you think? nah you will kill ark1! same with legacy, i told you not to delete or wipe i told you make new servers and here we are, if you delete ark1 this way then its over. if you compare it with WoW, imagine blizzard would have deleted vanilla WoW, and introduced classic WoW, without having vanilla that is over 15 years old with all the items gathered by players and so on, items you never ever can get anymore players wont restart, it will be a good memory (each player has played thousands of hours) and if there are no old players there wont be new ones... so just make save files compatible, leave the servers up and charge a monthly fee with a disclaimer that we the players have nothing to say regarding the servers so you are happy as company. happy easter guys
