Rum. (As in ark, you will get whatever the poor scallywagger had in his inventory. Same goes for ships i´d say) (You will most likely be able to scavenge sunken ships too)

Fiance and I had the same issue. We were on just fine and getting going with trying to get off starting island, then saw the prompt about too many players and some being moved, then the server froze and we eventually got kicked. Now, cannot get back in and I am dying to keep playing haha

C’mon no way you expected 40k to be in the same instance There are indeed 15 tiles which hold 150 per tile, however players can still cross between instances, Every tile is a server which is connected to one huge network creating this huge map, 150 per server is still a huge leap compared to ARK’s 70-100 player limit. It is in fact what they said 40k simultaneous players on a single “World”... different instances, in this case you won’t need to transfer stuff between servers such as ark had done.

That number is already showing to be at best a spin.. Each map has 255 (15x15) instances with max 150 lofings per instance. So no, it's not 40K per server it is 150 and not all servers are actually up, just a handful of instances. So far for being a MMO.. It's nowhere close to that unless I can freely and uninterrupted move between instances and or communicate with players in other instances. I'll give it a day or two before I refund and I have a feeling a lot of people will do the same as the hype train clearly was not entirely accurate to put it mildly.

You can just click companies and the there should be a search-bar somewhere too if i´m not mistaken.. I´d say the same with double-names happens.. Error, telling you that the name was already taken.

Same, Now it says the servers are throttled and limiting logins to the servers. I can't even connect at all.

yeah it´s the same island but who cares ? lets get us all start to play and see what they will change and improve. i think it can be a great game. And we shouldn´t forget that this is an early access game wich grows with his players ( sorry if is something wrong, i´m german with not the best english ) -
If you play games by WC chances are your a Masochist. I mean the devs have their way with us, other players do the same in pvp lol. We take it and keep playing. Their games can't be 1/2 bad if were all still here though. -
CRY! wish i had a good PC makes me want to play it so bad... I wish it released on Xbox same day. I would buy it right now the Preview Early Access.

It is literally the same island but rotated. Not good for the launch of the game, shame even with all the delays they couldn't do any better. -

So this is a complaint about Atlas, but it's also really a complaint about practically every game. Ever notice how if you turn the default volume levels down to say 20 or 30 percent for voice or ambient or sfx or whatever, you get a volume level that is hearable but not intrusive or overwhelming, but if you want this same basic thing out of game music, you have to turn it down to about 2 percent? Its true of Ark, it was true of SWTOR and EVE and CIV 5 and 6 and The Repopulation, and heck just about every online game I can think of going back to City of Heroes in 2004 when I started playing online. What up with that?

Actually I think this will make navigation with landmarks worse, as you will think you have sailed back to the same island you just left. This actually happened in one of the streams I watched earlier today. -
I think since its SUPER EARLY RELEASE, they are just trying to get placeholders up with the resources, and biomes. I'm not psychic but I think over the next 2 years of development they can customize and personalize more once they get the game working and the mechanics fine tuned, the distance between islands already makes it so that you would have to try to hit the same islands over and over. The maps is just the developmental version atm, give it time.
