  1. On NA PVE go to M15. It has the best ironwood, and diamonds. Shiny, shiny diamonds. And twigs, to make fires to keep yourself warm at night. Cause it gets cold there. Snuggle up to a yeti for warmth. (total sponsored endorsement by the current island owners)
  2. The action of them putting a flag down within the radius of your flag is what starts the contesting. The winner is the one who lasts the longest. If you go offline or go outside the radius of the flag then the timer starts to count down again. You win by just outlasting them online. There are other tricks, but I am not going to give those away.
  3. "Our decision to wipe the Networks was not made lightly and involved much deliberation and factoring in of technical aspects and the impact on our current PC players. We have made big changes to the game under the hood, revamped the world map with the addition of over 70 new, unique island templates, as well as some considerable optimization changes and limits put in place which required a full data wipe. After these sets of changes, we do not plan to wipe the network again, even with the introduction of additional platforms and new areas & islands further down our development timeline. We value and appreciate the time spent on the game and the only reason we carry out these wipes is after exhausting all possible alternatives and when they become a necessity." You wanted to know where the statement was made. There it is.
  4. Roger that. Haven't noticed if the math is off anymore. Just enjoy the ride, you have hundreds if not thousands of hours to go. I am currently max level 106, have been working on it since the new wipe pretty seriously. It just becomes a "What are you grinding for?" exercise soon enough. Once you hit 70 the exp slows waaaay down for maps, and anything else that isn't an exploit gives shit exp for the time sink. Good news is once you are above 60 you have enough points to do most things in game without having to worry about respec for different stuff.
  5. 34 points per level. Island discoveries count as two. So if you were to go solely off of islands, 17 islands. Powerstones, Kraken achievements, and others give varying amounts. The total points needed to unlock the weight/encumbered achievement is 998. This goes off of any point total. Master Cartographer only counts island achievements toward the 40%.
  6. This is a necro post from a previous patch note as far as I can find. They tried this before and the community outrage (among those that were still left) was immediate and loud. They reverted it after a single weekend and it hasn't been seen since. If the OPs patch notes are from the testing server or some such then they are revisiting an idea that has already been wholly rejected, otherwise it looks like someone posting old shit to get a rise. Mission accomplished.
  7. It is an old bug. When building pillared structures you need to make sure the pillar has hit "bedrock" sometimes it will look like the last one you have place has snapped to the ground, but there is still an option to place one underneath it out of sight. Adding more pillars to that area to ensure you have coverage usually is a fix.
  8. The settings didnt fix it for those of us in our company that had the problem with npcs still firing. What did fix it was assigning all those cannons to a group, making sure the group was active with all the others on the hotbar, and then they listen to commands.
  9. They have to actively unclaim it for it to be claimed on PVE. I assume this is PVE since on PVP you would just sink it. If someone is obviously griefing you by blocking you in on purpose, do as others above recommended. Screenshot it and report it with the relevant details. This takes a couple days, but the developers do take action on griefing. If it is just a visual eyesore then you are stuck with it. The stated timer on PVE is 14 days and on PVP 21 days. If anyone from that company comes and interacts with the ship during that time it resets the timer.
  10. You can have 300 ships per company. You can have 20 unanchored in a zone at a time and 40 anchored in a zone. Anecdotal evidence from most companies is even those larger ones have usually around 10 or so active people on a single base. Just due to the nature of resources and other factors people spread out all over the map. We have around 35 active daily players and our "events" mostly end up being people porting to 2-3 ships for things like key runs and over level 20 treasure maps. This is all from a PVE perspective. No idea what those pvp peoples get up to.
  11. If you fill a trough with celery or farmed carrots it will last around 3 weeks to a month depending on the number of tames you are feeding. Have to be tames that eat veggies (like bears)
  12. The 123 function was introduced by Steam as an anti-stalking and domestic violence feature. People were being tracked down and harassed by various exes and people with bad intentions. It of course was immediately abused as a workaround to hiding your identity in several online games. One step forward, two back sort of thing.
  13. To answer the OP, honey is found in nodes on the ground that look like orange exposed honeycombs sitting on a rock.
  14. @Sir Green Day Wasn't about your OP but Inigo's comment directly above mine about using an INT set.
  15. Can't tell if you are trolling or just missed the whole nerf to crafting. INT was removed from the game as a crafting stat for armor. If you want a random minimal bonus of up to a possible 10 percent on the bp, (blue and better). You spec pure INT for stats, find a dolphin, get the 50 point buff, get to crafting station before the buff expires, put on highest level crow, and craft. Or you just farm for the best bp. Endgame crafting is no longer about who can stack and dupe, but is all about the highest quality % bp you find. As to number of blueprints, I throw the crap ones out. Others in my company keep them.
  16. You gain a set number of claim points based on the number of members in your company. Once you have enough points you can attempt to place a claim flag on an unclaimed island. This costs increasing amounts of gold based on the point total of the island. Whoever places the flag needs that gold in their inventory. You cannot claim lawless or freeports. This places the flag and then you have to wait an hour for the process to countdown. If someone decides to contest your claim on pve they need to drop a flag in the radius of control of your flag while claiming. This halts the timers on both flags. If you pull up your flag and move it, it costs the initial gold amount again. On pve this mostly does not happen except in the case of popular islands that may have people watching and waiting for the current owners to go into default. At the end of that hour you get a message and the island is yours. You need to place the initial claim amount of gold into the flag every 12 hours to keep maintenance on the flag. If you don't, you lose the claim and the process starts all over again. If the cost to claim was 50g, then you will need 100g every day to maintain that flag. Only people in your company can add/remove stuff from the flag, and you can admin lock the contents if needed. You, as the owner then can set the tax rate and message for the island. The current cap is 20%. This is an additive amount in the case of resources. Nothing is taken from the harvester. Those that do treasure maps on your island do however have gold taken from their total. You can destroy any NEW structure placed within 24 hours. You receive a message when someone "settles" on your island. If they place a foundation you receive a message, but other actions trigger that message too. You cannot remove structures that have been there longer than 24 hours, then the normal 10 day decay timers apply.
  17. I pull up along side the crate and and grapple the crate on. Then equip diving suit, dive in, hit E to recruit, radial them on the boat. Lost 1 of 20 today, and that is only because they sometimes get on the boat, then jump off.
  18. They have taken the throw shit at the wall and see what makes pretty pictures path to development. The problem is you just end up with shit-covered walls then. How many of their failures still sit in game though being thoroughly rejected by the players? Aging system that was so unpopular they turned off the debuff, but didn't remove it so your character spends 3 weeks of every month looking like a wrinkled grandparent. Pointless FOY runs to remove a non-existent debuff that after the first 3 months are again just a "do it because we say so" mechanic. A vitamin mechanic that everyone ignores and just dies to reset. Wind mechanics that have made sailing a chore rather than enjoyable. At least they made it so that your ship will creep along at a snails pace when against the wind vs the original where no movement occurred. Turning on double rates every freaking weekend to entice players to play. So basically no one does anything during the week because they know it is coming. The amount of screw you decisions made just because it is a buy to play title vs a sub game is setting a new standard.
  19. Like many other things it is something they want to do in the future. Since the game is broken on a fundamental level with so many other systems, don't expect it for a long time.
  20. No, you don't lose the island. If for some reason you were to lose the flag, you would not be able to plant another in the same spot till you had enough. In the beginning they gave too few points, now they give too many as a base for a single player imo.
  21. You can punch yourself to death. Not being cute. Just punch over and over till out of stamina, and you will eventually die, then respawn. You can also eat shit. That kills you pretty quick. Never figured out if that one was a great troll from the devs. "Eat shit and die!" Also, you can adjust the difficulty slider at any time in singleplayer, just crank your food and water use to max. That should kill you quick too.
  22. Yes, everything you drop is on the 24 hour timer. One way to get around it is to have your area enclosed so they cant get inside. Then whatever you drop they can't access.
  23. It is for anything placed. You place your foundations. The owner doesn't notice them. They pass 24 hours. They are now in the safe zone. You throw up walls, owner doesn't like them, he deletes them. He can't remove your foundations, but he can blow up anything you place for 24 hours.
