  1. I hope the mobile addition is wrong, cos there are many reasons why cross platform with mobiles won't work with Atlas, and it's pointless trying. Mobiles would need their own version, I just can't see the devs even attempting it.
  2. Yeh the reason I meant for sp was deffo partly financial or it wouldn't have been done, the other reason of course was to please the amount of people requesting it. Like I said though even if you don't play single player it is a great place to experiment with ship builds and bases, especially if you are pvp as there is no consequence if you mess up.
  3. I'd still buy skins in Sp, I don't care if i've got no one to show off to. I build ships that are the best I can build with designer sails etc, no one sees them but me. A lot of single players do the same. Sp mode is a great way to design prototypes , especially ships and buildings. And bearing in mind the way Atlas is if the devs didn't think there was a reason for SP they wouldn't have done it.
  4. Tbh I've had so many crashes in sp it's hard to remember how I dealt with them, one crash I validated game files and it was ok. another one I had to re download blackwood then it was ok again. Now I always load in low mem mode too.
  5. Maybe he just needs to branch out a bit.
  6. I like your use of diamond shapes and diagonals for the backgrounds, they look really good.
  7. Yeh I'm hoping for a proper pyrate tavern that we can buy beer and goods from. A stall just isn't pyraty enough.
  8. well to be fair it doesn't just happen in Atlas, WOW is no exception, but there are always good companies, clans guilds etc too. I'm just too old to bother looking for them now. I'll solo for a while , maybe i'll start another company and call it the longbeards.
  9. They gotta bring in taverns where we can buy booze and stuff, it's just not right pyrates trading from a market stall.
  10. I now play single player since I lost everything through a glitch in pve, if single player wasn't available i'd have quit. I was on eu pve for months had the same island base etc and I wouldn't go back to having a company again, all I got out of it was grief and hassle. Spamming everywhere, chat full of toxic rubbish I might just as well have been playing pvp . People who bought it for the single player option shouldn't be treated as second class just cos it was an mmo first. they still took the money from sp players they didn't say if you want sp here have it for free. Yeh i'll go back to pve when the xbox version is released but i'll still play the sp mode too.
  11. I use the small gate as a double doorway, it's not ideal but it does work.
  12. When I first joined WOW I got my but kicked if I stumbled into a pvp zone. No I didn't think it was totally fair, but I didn't go running to the Devs in tears asking everyone to be zero levelled so I could have an easier game. Actually what I did do is join a slightly bonkers company and later we went and kicked the enemies large behinds.
  13. The weird thing is I'll be able to invite my own xbox character to join my pc characters new company. good to have you aboard Arn, you too Arn.... Hmm and how weird will it get if they enable players to have children in the game? I could be my own mum and dad...!!!! Still they could introduce a debuff for doing that.
  14. I'll be playing the xbox version on release and I hope there isn't a wipe. For one thing having companies I could join if I wanted to that are already established would be a bonus. Also it's good to have lots of inspiration around, ie ideas for buildings ships, bases etc.
  15. I think the original concept was pvp only, and somewhere in the process someone had the sense to add pve. I don't think alienating the pve community is a wise move considering how many people have now left pvp, and also how much revenue is gained from pve players. Pushing pvp I don't think is a gamble that will pay off.
  16. Damn, I'm glad I don't make sense then !
  17. I'm not sure you either read or understood my post at all. Still that doesn't seem to stop you from commenting eh. ho ho ho
  18. I think that all depends on the quality of pc and internet, I used to lag so bad the only things I could kill had to be stationary. Mind you I don't fancy playing on low graphics mode on xbox though.
  19. Some people remain single in real life, that doesn't mean they want to go outside and find the whole world empty. some people play solo in mmo's the same way, they like solo gaming but also enjoy the chat and company of others from time to time with no commitment issues. But as for npc's, I'd much rather sail with real people for all the obvious reasons, chat, initiative etc. But sometimes being in a company can be a pain in the ane, especially when arguments break out or sulking starts. So I do see the point in both solo and group play.
  20. Yeh you rip into people who wanna play solo and then preach that humans must learn to get on if they wanna survive. Maybe that attitude is what makes people wanna play solo in the first place.
  21. Well we've already got torpedoes and a submarine, why not just add steam power and be done with it. After all steam power was in production by the 1780's.
  22. Well oblivion was single player, skyrim is too, but noone can deny how well it's done as an mmo now aswell. and there are others. You can't just have an argument that states any game started as this or that has to stay that way like it's a bonafide gaming law. things change over time and games are no exception. Single player was a smart move and a gutsy one too considering the backlash about it. They are running a business and any business needs customers. The more of the bases you can cover the better off you will be financially. and blizzard doesn't just have WOW it has its feelers in a few games and some of them are single player. So even blizzard covers different bases. I played pve on atlas from launch until I got a download glitch that stopped me signing in for 2 weeks. All my pve stuff was gone, company, bases, boats, everything. Single player being released kept me playing, otherwise I would have quit out of frustration.
  23. I learned many years ago to eat in a busy restaurant not an empty one. If certain areas of your game are getting more play or attention then they are the areas you should be expanding on, not the areas that are less used. People aren't mice to be led this way then that way at your bidding, and even though I enjoy your game as many others do If I felt that I was being forced down a path I didn't like then i'd stop playing. I play pve only on atlas and if you enforced pvp on me i'd quit. And i'm sure i'm not the only one. As they say there are many more fish in the sea. I understand you as the devs have suffered an undeserved barrage of toxicity which has been unfair. But if my perceptions are right about certain areas of the game you are thinking of changing, then i'd say you should seriously consider again. I genuinely hope your game succeeds on any and every platform and wish you great future success. But please don't forget the people who first backed Atlas and still do, regardless of any negativity surrounding it.
  24. The fact is they took the easy way out with the non livestream, and thought it would be the best of the many choices they had. I don't think they did it right but that's all we got. They obviously are going to be spending a huge amount of time with the xbox version, that much was clear. and I may be wrong but the way they talked and the size of the slice of combat pie to come looks like a pvp/pve merge at some point. I only take notice of actions anyway, words are easily spoken and just as easily forgotten.I'll still play for now, they'd have to go very bad I think before I'd stop playing.
