  1. 11 - Sextant buff cover landowner message. I really love to read what message landowner left for me, but to read one - i need to wait until my sextant buff is gone.
  2. Ah... yes. As I back to SqOTD's hunting, few more updates from me: 09 - To color crew clothes. I know most of players don't do that, but I always create an armor for all my crew, and even more. I PAINT IT in to the color of ship, they gonna be on duty. I do love when all looks good: But here is the problem. It's like I hired 10 cannon-guys, I created 10 pieces of each part of armor, and then... you just imagine. - I went shop. - I bought 90 navy dyes. 90 peel orange dyes, 70 golden dyes. - AND THEN I APPLIED ALL THOSE 250 DYES to clothes ONE BY ONE! And there is no hotkeys - I LMB part of clothes, LMB to dye I need, LMB "apply" button. Repeat 250 times! I see the solution with "design" button. Same as we paint flags. Before I create thing - I color it, and then put in tannery not just a hide and fibers, but also dyes. It will save a lot of time for players like me. 10 - Damned ships loot. With current situation - I feel sad about loot from damned ship. Because we have squads each battle require alot of maneuvering and sailing! And after it's done - I have to find somehow, in the clear empty ocean, between flotsam - my loot, which is look the same as regular flotsam: You never guess - what is my reward, and what is just regular treasure chests. Today I engaged 8 damned ship at once, and after I end them, it took me an eternity to gather what's left of them. And I didn't find one of my loot chests. The solution I see is to light the loot somehow. For example, the same light pillar as we have above our corpses. I really would LOVE to see that. I keep loosing loot, and it's a shame.
  3. Just a little note for today: 08 - Handling sail position. With this angle like on picture below, my handling sail should just break my ship, not moving it. So the angle of this one should be different at 180*. We were writing about this one since EA started, but no one cares.
  4. Yeah. What I meant is to play without beast mastery. Horse with cargo harness should be basic, because we always need to carry like hell alot of stuff all around the atlas.
  5. Not sure if there is at least a single person who didn't lost his ship to a freeport : )) (Same with game glitches btw).
  6. For those who don't wanna play tames (I personally don't wanna play tames) what they actually need is: - Give every1 in basic survival skill ability to tame/buy a horse and build cargo harness to it. - Also make dinghy able to carry stuff and one click to transfer stuff to boat. It'll solve all carrying stuff problems without tames.
  7. If you find the right way to deal with it - it won't be a "survival". Just a routine. Here is my way. I got grille and food storage near, and I always face some aggressive wild fauna. So I don't even go for food hunting - I just somehow always got meat and berries. The only thing I do in purpose - is once per day go underwater to kill couple fishes (sometimes mantas drop themself to the shore). So my food storage always full of food (food storage is one of fist skill in captaining tree. It store a food for a long time). I do my business, and when my stomach goes less then 20%, I go there and eat: - 5 pieces of fish. - 5 pieces of meat. - 25 pieces of berries. - 25 pieces of vegis. (If my stomach reach 0, it then 6-6-30-30 - the basic rule is 1 fish 1 meat 5 berries 5 vegis). So I even don't look at my vitamins level. It's always the same lvl and around 50%. And this is not survival feature. Just routine). The only problem is far sea traveling when there is nothing to do, and vits lvl falls faster then food lvl. Devs could do something with it. Imao they could improve this system with some different food combination provide some unique buffs (or debuffs if you eat it wrong).
  8. Let's continue. 05 - Disappearing parts update. Today I changed some of my base from wooden to stone parts. While I was replacing walls, ceilings, foundation, etc, alot of ceilings and railings on my pier were disappeared. So it somehow connected to building and demolition activity. Some guys on forum said, that reason - is limit of parts placed together, so players wouldn't overload server with their monstrous creations. So I really wanna hear from the DEVs team - are we NOT suppose to build bases like that? Instead we should end with bases like that? 06 - Darkened stuff in shops. Right now stuff in shops looks like that. I first thought - I somehow not allowed to buy anything. Same with crew vendor. 07 - Please bring us white ships. I applied the snow white dye to one of my ship plank. Guess which one is that? Unfortunately NONE of white dyes can be applied to ship surfaces, building walls etc. It can be used to storage boxes tho, but... well. We have WAY TOO BRIGHT pink, blue, green dyes which turning our vessels to party boats. Why then we not allowed to bring white boats to the ocean? Could you, please, add white textures to at least boat surfaces?
  9. So... new season. New island. New base. New adventures. New (and Old) features that devs should deal with. Here is my feedback thread. We're on official PVE. The Shadowy Isle in i7 grig. 01 - Ceilings and Railings random disappears. First thing I do after log in - is running over my base and see if yet another pier parts disappeared. It happens randomly, all around our base, while we gone (on the mission or offline). Sometimes it's just a single railing, sometimes - big rows like on a picture below. 02 - Extended HUD info shows wrong resources on nodes. If I press "H" by default I can scan resources. Right now it shows totally wrong. We have "Iron" nodes that provide "chert", we've got "Iridium" nodes - provide "Iron", we have "Opal" showing that's "Crystall" and after gathering - it shows "Gem". It's all over at I7. 03 - Rains and Show in wrong temperatures. Pleas attach precipitation to the temperature. It's really weird to see it's raining when it's -15(c) or 5(f) and snowing while heatwave and +20(c) or 68(f). I mean I understand we're in fantasy world, but... it's weird anyway. 04 - (story-time) Crew member sunked while on the ship. Me and my crew-member were on our mission in the ocean. When we crossed the border, my crew-member was climbing rope ladder to the large speed sail's crownest. After we crossed, my crew-member was disappeared for me, and he found himself into the ocean. He was on water surface, but game showed he out of oxygen. After he died his corpse appeared all way down to the ocean bottom.

  11. BTW, as Tundra citizen, just wonder - will there be renewed eastern Tundra (where silver nodes and it's hard to produce alloys) and good old western one (where are iron nodes)?
  12. Ahhh. I thought I would be able to play next Diablo III season for a week or two before Atlas new map released. But it also gona be released at July 3rd so... DIII will wait lol. And yeah, btw, guys, I once accidentally joined US PVE from Russia and I've beed surprised how smooth those servers were... I mean, ping difference was minimal, I had pretty comfortable game.

Errr... for those who cannot do Italian - author says that steering wheel design must be changed to more real state and there are no windows within ship stern where usually captain room located. IMAO - the problem with current ship design is - there are no such thing as captain room. There are no crew room (berth), no supply spots, no cargo hold etc. It's like you don't even need all decks (when I build my SOTD hunter Brig I don't build lower deck because I don't need one). It's like you build a ship, put planks, put there one or two beds, put there a single storage box that can carry up to, like 15-20 (or more) TONS of stuff, one supply box and you done. I got an idea how to solve this issue. Instead of free design, make ship consist of: 1) - Frame 2) - Planks/Gunports (guns can be placed only in gunports) 3) - Decks. 4) - Rigging (instead of building separate sails with masts - introduce one piece of rigging witch contains all masts, ladders, cables, ropes, crow nests AND SAILS SPOTS). 5) - Sails (sails of our choice, which we put in sails spots). 6) - MODULES!!! So each type of ship has limited modules spots. And each module - matters. The modules are. -- Cockpit (without one you can not command your ship). -- Berth (without one you can not hire crew). -- Cargo hold (where limited storage space located) -- Supply room (where resources for repair and gold for crew located). -- etc (more in a link bellow) and depend of your ship size and your goals - you decide which modules to build and put it. So there will be much less creativity within ships design. Still there will be some. But ships then will come to more real state, and shit types will matter. Aaaaand... yeah. I personally would LOVE to see like 26 ship types in 6 different classes. I mentioned all my thought about it (with picture of 26 ships) here:
  14. For keratine - go to desert and search for ants and spiders (they are rare). Resin - in Tundra, look for red bushes. p.s. - Resin - is a serious setback in tundra survival difficulty. Because saps needs for fur clothes, in the old times we had to go south in search of honey, cane etc, and it was a challenge. We always had to plan our sweets supply. And those red bushes were cotton. And now they changed it and there are tons of resin in Tundra right now. No need to go anywhere for saps.
  15. I love it actually. Less forever sailing for any biomes, plus more traffic will be near center and world will looks alive. And yeah. Let's hear about trade routes - the main reason of map change.
  16. I'm glad. I'm gonna jump in after wipe. No need to make map larger. With current grid and islands sizes it's possible to multiply amount of islands at least twice.
  17. I hope size of map will be cut at least twice (so longest half atlas way would lasts for an hour) Oh don't do it easy for low levels. Me and my bro keep really warm memories of our first atlas steppes when we were freezing to death in Tundra (we spent all nights in our shelter with campfire) and facing alphas around our firs village!

  19. Maybe you did respec and didn't pick certain skills? If you did all requirements - try to die and respawn. In some cases it help to solve all smithy issues.

  21. I would actually separate skills to combat and survival. So each level you get 1 point to bots of them (2 points each lvl). Or it's 1 point per lvl but one goes to combat then next one goes to survival and so on. The main idea here is so players don't need to choice - do they wanna be great fighter of they wanna live in cold tundra. I mean - this king of choice would work If you play big group and even without combat skills you value somehow and within a group also go to instances, raids etc. But right now - it doesn't work this way. If you won't pick certain skills you won't see some of the game content. Combat skills are like - HP, Stamina, Strength (for mele), Dexterity (for ranged), Int (for firearms and tames fight). Survival - Fortitude (extreme temperatures and poison resistance), Power (for heavy weight carry), Lungs volume (for longer underwater time), Vits improvement, and some resources gathering related skills also.
  22. I was going to say a funny about it, but really don't wanna. I feel sad. For pas half of year, there were just minor patches with few small changes each. And distance between patches rising every time. My guess was so next minor patch will happen at the end of May. But we are in June already and no sign of devs yet. When EA released we was told that it will last for 2 years so... we have 6 months left. With current updates speed - there will be 2-3 minor patches more, and then what? Release? I do really want this game to be THE PIRATE SANDBOX we all deserve but... well. Not sure it ever will. IMAO the best devs can do at this state is to attach this Atlas to ARK so we could stop suffering from hopes that are not destined to come true and go wait for the next pirate game.

They should basically just add "repair dock" and all your full repairs, redesigns, etc you can just do inside this dock (you park your ship in, make an improvement if needed, then it shows - how much resources you need to bring for repairs and changes). Then you can save your design and use it in future. What I would also do - is to cancel planks disappearing. Even with 0hp planks are still there, with huge holes and water flood ship insides. As for repair - introduce "patches" you can apply to your ship parts and those can restore hp of parts up to 50% (a bit more if patches are better quality). I actually would redo all ship system. I wrote the ideas here. It would dramatically reduce creativity within ship design (still there are some), but bring ships to more real state, make so ship types are matter, and it will add possibility to add different styles of ships in a game like eastern style, nordic style etc.
  24. I would change all totally. - Horse taming with cargo carriage - available with basic survival skills. There are 3 separated branches of skills in tames tree: 1) - For battle tames: their damage, survival, and unique battle skills (like howl buff for volves). Cancel the way you riding tames and command them to bite/hit enemies. All battle tames - fight their own by your side. 2) - Riding Skills - the way old fashion knights did their battles. With unique lance and firearm weapons, different saddles, charges skills etc. So if you wanna ride and fight - do it like they do on a discovery channel did ages ago with your own hands. 3) - Non battle tames: their speed, gathering, carrying and unique resource skills (like finding rare materials). And one more thing. Armor clothes are needed. Because it's pain to see an elephant in tundra area.
  25. It's been like that for last year I guess because I've tried to help a year ago and got same "went wrong" page. And yeah, when I downloaded game after my hdd wipe, I got my "russian" language set by default. A-a-a-a-and after I enter the game I saw text like this: "◘◘◘◘◘◘ ◘◘◘◘◘◘◘ ◘◘◘"
