  1. Sailing is boring eh.. Well that's on you.. not the game. It is certainly true that not everyone can be pleased, but that's because most people don't like being pleased. They were born to complain. Incidentally: Here's a list of things that are actually boring. Watching paint dry. Waiting for a kettle to boil. Peeling fruit. Sleeping. Walking, Running. Driving a car/motorcycle. Digging your garden. Cooking food. Drinking by yourself. Washing windows. Well.. actually.. pretty much everything. Is boring. You find yourself skirting the main map, hugging the edges of the regions to stay away from sotd etc that's a choice you made. Didin't stop to get some flotsam or dive for a wreck.. that's a choice you made. Put too much weight on your ship.. your fault. Not sailing.. yours. You're boring. Sailing is fun. The even added a net, so you can catch fish.. just by sitting down. The ultimate couch experience.
  2. Completely agree with you. Which is why most of my company have gone back to playing ark.. or moved to other games. Atlas.. sadly, has failed to entertain us.
  3. Soloable? You mean you cheat and glitch the hydra.. or use exploits and shoot it from a ledge where it cannot get to you? Or you just goto the region and steal someone elses work. Also exploiting and cheating.. If you cannot win.. cheat, that's your answer? People of today.. sadly, you're all the same, it's why the world is more rotten now, than it was 40 yrs ago. Stop cutting corners, either you can complete something fairly or admit you cannot. Don't cheat.
  4. Bear sprint speed is ok, on our island it's so laggy if you go too fast you loose control anyway. Bear walk speed is a joke, you can row a dingy faster.. which I've always taken to be the slowest moving object in the game.
  5. You have to make them in the cooking pot. The grill is broken and doesn't make them, nor does the fireplace. So learn cooking and cooking pot.. and off you go or use someone elses unlocked one.
  6. Yeh a useless pvp mob.. useless in pve and probably in pvp unless you get lv 30 tames etc and breed them. The other "dinos" are the same, they're all useless, both in pve and apparently in pvp tho the raptor thing probably is useful to a degree. Sometimes I think Bethesda and Bioware are lending "talent" to grapeshot and wildcard.. for all the usefulness of some of the animals and dinos.
  7. As a general rule.. ship stuff from ships.. land stuff from maps. structure stuff from floating stuff. So if you are wanting shipyards, gunports, planks, decks, cannons etc.. sink sotd, if you want carbines, pistols, armour etc do maps. If you want better structure, use spyglass on the flotsam and do wrecks.
  8. I've sailed my cargo gally with only 500 weight to spare. With full ellys and a full giraffe.. The last 2 hours of which, was on slacking wind and calm seas. Just pushed past the sotd and killed them with chasers. That said.. I've also been sunk once as well.. by the sotd. Although, technically, they died first.
  9. Snap the water pipes to your ceilings or foundations, that helps keep them straight and aligned. Then snap the water reservoirs onto the pipes at one end and the grill at the other or angle pipes up, and across using X pieces to form irrigation channels for farming if rain is infrequent.
  10. How is your home network setup, are you both using exactly the same version of windows. With wired connections or solid wireless/boosters. This was an issue for a long time with Ark, for many people. But in most occasions it was down to personal setups rather than the game or servers specifically. Whilst I realise you want to play "together" you could take turns using the same account.
  11. Never even looked at the map lol.. where are they?
  12. ouch. Took me about 2 hours to strip the ship down, put a ships chest on a piller/ceiling off seabed. Then ferried all the base resources to base. What annoys me most about it is that no matter the quality of the planks etc, they return only base resources. Not the 4-5 that are used. I've now made the xbow, harpoon gun etc, had alot of fun with those for a couple of hours, built a new schooner, only jm tho with some fine 120% guns. Int set is useless now. I gained maybe 3-5% on making stuff with 460% int. It's been nerfed right down to the point of uselessness.. Everything fun about Atlas is slowly being leeched out of it. I've stopped using gally and brig now, prefer darting around in the schooner dodging shots and monsters.
  13. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1757787059 It won't breakdown at all.
  14. Holy shit seriously.. you've cleared all the input keys.. and now my brand new ship just sank.. so now I'm stuck inside a sinking ship, with all the wrong keys setup.. Nothing apparently wrong with the ship, no busted planks nothing, it's just not a ship anymore.. all mastercraft.. full stocked and loaded. And the diving mask cosmetic is broken as well. Now I know why my ship sank... https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1757756794 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1757756720 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1757756658 It clearly came out of the combiner wrong.. it's all inside out. Suspect my gally is due to sink soon as well. @Jatheish @Dollie Please look into this.. before everyone elses ship does the same when they log in. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1757782378 Not a single plank is damaged. Ship was under half max weight when it sank. There's just no reason or explaination that I can think of that caused this from the games side. Fortunately, it's only a schooner.. a very expensive one tho.
  15. Didn't read it all, but I meet people like you all the time. Don't hope.. plan for it. Wolves, Lions, Tigers.. all eat a ton of meat. You need to get out with a bear on a decent sized island or goto a freeport, and store up as much meat as you can. Even get vultures and use them as preserves if you have to. A full trough lasts around 13 hours. Give or take my shoddy maths. For 1-3 tames it should suffice, but I'd probably check every 4-6 hours after they get 10% to see exactly what you're loosing. Have a few fires preferably underneath the babies, to keep them warm. Full of wood.. Guy I know.. put 20 logs in each fire.. He was hoping was well. Fortunately, I got him to pin his doors, fires and trough, so I kept the wolves alive whilst he was offline. If you're pushed for time as a "casual player" do your breeding at the weekends, when it's usually 2x rates.
  16. So more stuff for the megas.. the beat down the small tribes with on the pvp servers.
  17. What type of file are you saving them as? They need to be in pnt format. :\Steam\steamapps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved\MyPaintings Is the location you should be saving them into. And extracting them from if you're using a converter.
  18. It kinda annoys me that they were giving the game away for free to their own people, but expected everyone else to pay for it. But we have to live with the devil we know. And that's snail games. A company that is so bad, that even in china, they think they're a joke. I hate snails.. they're like pretentious slugs.
  19. Won't matter.. the world ends on Sept 23rd 2019 anyway.. so we'll all be dead by then. Except me.. I have a bunker. In a mountain. On the moon.
  20. I removed the whole setup, put a swivel on either side on the deck, seems abit buggy having them on structure, on the ship.. I'm pretty sure the figurehead was interacting somehow, maybe it's got invis box around it I cannot see or collision or.. i dunno. But it didn't matter where I moved it behind the figurehead it just wouldnt fire. Didn't try with crew.. the last time I did that, they set my ship on fire.
  21. Make a ticket. If you're right.. they can probably restore you from a backup. Before you do that, make sure it is actually gone. Try some of the tricks posted above. Like log into say a different server, create a char, log out, log back into your own, select a freeport and see what spawns. If could be you on your ship.. it might ask you to make a new char.. could be you in water.. these little things can sometimes save you. All this talk about gs not caring is bs. They do care. There's just limits to what they can do and what the cannot. Sometimes restoring one guys char due to a bug, can mean you then get a lineup of people demanding their chars are restored as well, for various reasons, like they ragequit and deleted their char.. or whatever reason. Of course, if they used proper logging systems, they could see exactly how the char was removed.. but I don't know what they use.
  22. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1757680614 The sign is detaching from the buoy. Dunno why.. could be a desync of sorts.. a cosmetic glitch my end.. But it took me a full 5 minutes to work out that something was wrong with this picture.
