  1. This is the second day in a row ive logged into the ocean on a server wall. I can deal with the bug, but ATLEAST make it possible to save yourself. Both times Ive had someone sail out to me, They get close and I login to see the boat, but its too far away. And then my friend watches me die while Im logged off, doesnt say how I died, and theres no bag or corpse for me to find when I log back in.
  2. A larder would only last about a month, and that's with noone eating from it. If they're logging on often enough to keep him fed, then they're on often enough to contest.
  3. The patch notes werent clear on whether they changed the system regarding sleeping bodies contesting claims. Nor does it say theyre gone. They arent replicated anymore, which just means you wont see them. Unless the system was changed, its probably a sleeping body. I mean the game still knows your body is logged off there, because you log back in to the same location. I dont see them needing, or changing that system based on what the patch notes said. The systems they had in place made it clear that they wanted your base to be safe from claiming if you logged off there.
  4. While you cant see the sleeping bodies anymore, They used to contribute to contesting claims. I assume they still do, just cant see them now.
  5. I didnt use a taming trap for my giraffe, but I found it easier to get to feeding range from the top/back of it, rather then from the front
  6. Sample size: Small (maybe 24) No hatchets, though tools in general have been rare for me. Found 1 metal pick, and a few metal scythes
  7. When I logged on today I noticed my gloves were no longer dyed. Upon further inspection my gloves are missing, and i seem to have some placeholder there. I cant unequip them, I can equip a new set of gloves, however when I take them off the placeholder is still there, and regardless my crafted gloves are still missing.
  8. They do server announcements for rollbacks, I've certainly seen a few. The results would have been the same in any case, since it was an emergency rollback. I mean what do you expect to come from an announcement in game that in 10 minutes they are rolling the servers back an hour or more. The argument is that there is a good system used by many devs that is much better at updating the community about sudden issues rather than planned ones.
  9. They need to force save, kick everyone then take servers down. Backup that save file a couple times, and then apply an update. But the communication in this instance was as good as we could expect from the devs. Oh shit, sudden problem we didn't expect. They let the community know, and took the route that meant less people were impacted by an issue.
  10. Ingame notices will work for planned rollbacks, but if an update creates a problem that needs to be rolled back, it wouldnt have have mattered. OP finished and logged off before the rollback was necessary. He wouldn't have seen an Ingame message either.
  11. I definitely saw your flags. Was heading towards a12 for a masterwork map. I may have stopped there to tame a bear and run around for a bit.
  12. Got a small island in J13 open for a personal claim (we hold claims on the resources, we tend to keep taxes low, at 5% last I checked) small island, but a few larger ones less than a 6 min sail away. I spent some time on Milton over the weekend :P was a nice place too.
  13. Wooden ceilings can turn into trap doors like you want, cycle with T, though theres nothing big enough for an animal to fit through.
  14. Your sleeping body probably wont last more than about 3 minutes.
  15. If its running on the same PC you game on, you typically use your loopback address. 127.0.0.1
  16. Which is why you download the server files and run them yourself. Same way you can run your own dedicated ark server from your machine. No renting of servers necessary
  17. Could always run your own server, the files are available.
  18. Its also a german word referring to a specific forest, as well as a song and album. I consider it equally as likely that it could be any of the options. Considering I didnt even know it WAS a concentration camp until this thread, I might have used it had i known of the word. Alongside SS Tryhard and SS Scloop, it could be regarded the same way and me have been none the wiser.
  19. I mean, asking Germany to redefine words because some people used them badly is a bit silly overall. You have a smaller point with Auschwitz, as its just a proper noun. But with something like buchenwald, your basically saying they need to come up with a new word to refer to a beech tree. Its a bit silly when you look at it that way.
  20. I was placing a Fine Large Shipyard I crafted, and when I picked it up to move it a bit, it reverted to a common one in my inventory.
  21. I released my schooner a few minutes ago, and as soon as I did it started flipping out. Tore itself to peices immediatly. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1619502844 Ive now lost 4 schooners to broken mechanics. Its really starting to get old.
  22. Taxation on the Taxation Bank is set from 0% to 30%. Whenever a player gathers resources inside a claim with a taxation bank, the configured percent of those resources is deposited in the taxation bank. This does not apply to players within the company that owns the taxation bank. Wiki had much better information than I was about to give you lol
  23. I lost count of my deaths in freeport, but then again its not worth keeping your vitals balanced out. So I just died when i got hungry. Build a raft and make a chest and a bed, then sail off. Predators can be a problem, but get some arrows or a spear and work against them. You can easily outrun crocs and snakes, wolves and lions are slower than you in water. What happens when you die at sea? Spawn on the bed that SHOULD be on every boat you own. The game has its problems, but youre nowhere near the broken stuff yet.
  24. We were carting enough mats for a schloop to a lawless so we could actually build one. Rafted north to where we had tentatively set up and left because of overwhelming predators and went to a freeport. Stocked up and headed out... Ship of the damned turned into our rafts and took both out. Couldnt run because the wind was already fairly bad for us. That, is slightly fun, still annoying, but I didnt ultimately feel like there wasnt a damn thing I could do. I KNOW a loaded down raft would have trouble running from em. Zoning into a new area and having 2 ships pretty much glitching into you, I dont. Griefers on PVE servers, I dont get. People shouldnt be able to overweight my boat and sink it. I think there should be a mechanic in place for over weighting your own boat, but its a bit crazy. Griefers, Damned, and ridiculous predators on what are essentially spawn islands... its just become repetitive grind for the same thing and its hard to actually enjoy the amazing parts of the game, since you cant get there.
  25. Was anyone at the claim? Its only 30 minutes of protection if noone is actually in the claim. Sleeping bodies will count and put you on the 72 hour timer
