  1. Tested and confirmed, Pillars don't block resource respawn, but do prevent building! If you have any foundations down to stop building, replace with pillars.
  2. Anyone willing to sell a little bit of land in any of those squares?
  3. 4 hour timer on Lawless buildings? Are you deliberately shitting on people who have a life, or...? If you make the Lawless zone demolishable in 4 hours then you can kiss any semblance of PvE the PvE servers have. People will come, demolish structures and buildings, steal everyone's stuff, and lure enemies to kill sleepers. If you MUST reduce the timer, it should be 2 days, slightly inferior to a claim flag. Some people have a life, get sick, or just don't want to play ATLAS 24/7. 4 hours is absolutely ridiculously stupid.
  4. They're EU PvE, correct? That's the only server up right now.
  5. The servers JUST went down and are installing the patch. Give it time.
  6. There's several commands. Hold Left mouse and aim for active fire rate with you aiming, or press V to have all cannons fire and aim at will, as long as they aren't manning Large Cannons, which can't aim, and only go up and down. Make SURE to press C, I think it was, to give them the hold fire command when getting near shore to anchor, or they'll fire cannonballs at fish.
  7. Climbing picks count as damage and thus can't be used on non-allied ships. Same for grapples. You must have left a ladder down or accessible.
  8. Hand to hand fighting. If their cannons deal more when they're higher, I haven't noticed.
  9. Yes, you do still have to pay them hourly. The advantage is they are "Tamed" at a much higher level than the level 1s you get from the freeport vendors, allowing them to take more hits and deal more damage.
  10. Considering killing Ships of the Damned is the only way to get Ship Part Blueprints... I don't think they're useless.
  11. This thread will be locked soon. Keep recruitment threads in the recruitment section of the forums.
  12. Jesus christ. Whining about 2x rates, whining about more levels and more skill points so solo players aren't fucked over... you children really can't be pleased, can you?
  13. I started this game solo, playing for several hours alone, before my friends saw me playing and jumped in. Since they have lives and I don't, really, I decided to host a company for them, and work on building and harvesting while they were offline, delegating positions such as scout and gunsmith to them while I focused on levelling shipbuilding and captaincy, taking a few other things when needed and respeccing the next level when I didn't need them anymore. Despite the bugs, despite the hardness of early game and the 1x rates... I had, and am having, fun. I lost my first brig, which I soloed almost 80% of the resources for, to the overspawning of the Ships of the Damned. However, that was okay, since my friends helped me a bit more next time gather for the next brig. Now we're pretty big in PvE, have a Galleon, a Brig, and 5 Sloops for scouting and exploring for when specific people are online, and we have a nice base on a lawless island. We're having a ton of fun, even with the bugs, and I want to say to the Devs, thank you. Each day that passes, you add more things to make the game better, you try to squash bugs, and you otherwise make this game amazing. This game is two weeks after launch, and they have fixed and changed so much. I truly, truly believe this game will be a diamond in the rough.
  14. Can also message Jat on Discord, and pray that he notices your message.
  15. We of the Imperial Dragon Company go out almost every day with our Brig to sink Ships of the Damned. We're hunting for high tier medium cannon blueprints, and medium plank/gunport blueprints.
  16. Right now, 1 Waterskin weighs as much as 110 water jars, but water jars can hold 22000 water, where a water barrel can hold only 500. Plus, it's ridiculous that a water barrel can only hold 500, 5 uses. An average 16th century barrel held 42-50 gallons of water... and most humans drank 1 gallon of liquid a day, often as alcohol of some sort.
  17. Just wait until the next holiday. They'll raise it by 2.5x again, which means it'll be something like 5x original rates.
  18. Even with them increasing to be filled carry weight, they won't increase them to more than double the jar's original weight; they're supposed to be for portable water carrying. So let's say they made them weigh double when filled, 10lbs each. That still means you can have 55 jars for the weight of 1 water barrel. So you think that it's good that a human being can drain an entire barrel of water in 5 gulps? The barrel needs a buff.
  19. This argument will be around permanently. Some people don't like it, some people do. The only true way to deal with things is to have another server that is lower rates for those who want the harder stuff. Honestly, I enjoy the faster rates. Gives me more time to sail, explore, and battle with my ships instead of being so afraid that I may lose them to combat or a whale or something. It encourages me to take a little more risks, when I can afford to lose higher tier ships.
  20. Water barrels weigh 50lbs when empty, and 550lbs when full. They hold 500 units of water, and can gather water passively from just being open in the rain. This seems good, except there's a problem... a HUGE problem. With their weight right now, they're useless, completely inferior to the Water Jar. 1 Water Jar weighs 5lbs. However, here's the kicker; not only does it still weighs 5lbs when filled, but it also carries 200 water units. This means that 3 water jars, weighing 15lbs, not only matches but CARRIES MORE THAN a water barrel. Plus, if you get some rain during a journey? Look into the sky and use the jar; it fills it! This means that for the weigt you'd spend for a full Water Barrel (550lbs), you can have a massive 110 water jars, carrying a MASSIVE 22000 water units! So which seems more appealing to you; a few Large Storage Chests with 110 water jugs that can hold 22000 water total, or a single massive Water Barrel that can hold only 500 water for the same amount of weight? So, how do you fix this? Simple. Make the water barrel hold 50,000 units of water. It'd become the BEST method for storing massive amounts of water for a long time. Plus it'd mean that filling your water barrel via taking it ashore is a GREAT way to stay hydrated, as it'd keep you going for a LONG time. Also, Water Reservoirs only hold 200 water units, same as a water jar... yeah. There needs to be a balance pass for stationary water storage. --EDIT-- Alright, to prove my point, I did some research. The average barrel of water is 42 gallons. The average person drank 1 gallon of rum or water a day on the sea. This means each time we drink, we're consuming a gallon, okay. But the thing is, each barrel was 42 gallons! So that means that the barrels in ATLAS are measly 5 gallon barrels, OR we're drinking almost 10 gallons of water a day! This is ridiculous! And THIS is why Water Barrels need a buff! SOURCE: https://www.newworldexploration.com/explorers-tales-blog/life-at-sea-in-the-16th-century
