  1. I like the idea of pigeon / crow post for BP's and maps. (light paper based items) And they could use that as a reason why that shop has the prices of materials all across the Atlas.
  2. In what manner? A WoW merchant, stands at auction house, buys cheap and puts it al back on at a higher price. An EVE merchant, looks at auction house, sees where prices are cheap and expensive, gets in ship and transports goods from one place to the other.
  3. I agree with you there, I may be a helpful player, but only once I've got to where I want to be and am reasonably settled, don't inadvertently want to help someone beat me to what I'm after. But with new players (and I've seen this a little already) it's, "want to join?", "The spot just around the corner from me is a good location", "Gems? not on this grid, try the top island of the grid east of here". Do you want Xbox players to have unhelpful competitors in a race they are likely to loose? or a race just amongst equals and some helpful advice and co-operation getting them started with the game? PVE perspective here....
  4. crops last 10h each in a feeding trough so vege's will be fine for ages. meat eaters are more an issue, if you have ready access to salt, salted meat lasts 4h each so a stack of 30 will last 5 days. most animals will last days without food so you can add a few more days on top of that. that's the best i've come up with so far.
  5. I think rather than information, it's about perception. As I write this I see both yourself and Jat are in the discord channel and I don't have to scroll up far to see your name, however looking at your and Jat's post history here on the forum, it's been 10 days since Jat commented on someones post and twice that long since you posted on someone else's post other than this one. For those of us that keep an eye on the game using these forums rather than the social media that is not a topic specific, and you miss things as you are sleeping and working most the day, It gives the impression we are mostly ignored.
  6. Where does it say this, can't find it.
  7. Did anyone manage to record the post stream Q&A Dollie and Jat did on discord? would be nice to have all the info provided by GS in one official location.
  8. In discord Dolie said they had not decided if they are going to wipe. It's a shame realy as they also previously said they would not wipe unless it was needed. So just saying that is going back on what they previously said. But i'm coming to the realization that what they tell us can't be relied upon.
  9. On the one hand, them not saying a wipe is not happening, can be viewed as there probably will be one. On the other hand, they stated there were to be no major changes until after xbox release, and previous statements about not wiping unless a major change happens. Is xbox intergration a major system change? I don't know. From what i can deduce, I haven't a clue, need more info before I can accept it one way or another.
  10. Again: if someone takes the time to deliver that last resource to your local free-port, is that not worth anything. Far flung resources should cost the lazy players more. That way someone might even earn money just buying and selling between different free-ports. = more trading. = more to do in the game. = a better game. The very idea of an instant teleport shop is just ridiculous. And just because someone else has done it does not make it less so.
  11. Thats just lazy, Instant teleportation of materials around the atlas, no thanks. A game with a dynamic economy is for more interesting.
  12. Having them at freeports is ok. But location of materials should alter the price, Iridium at 'I3 Freeport' should cost less than Iridium at 'A5 freeport'. If you've taken the time to transport a material to a location where it's hard to get you should get more for it.
  13. Atlas wide auction house would void the reason to travel. Atlas wide info on where the shop you'll find the things for sale at. that i could get behind. (eg. 10k Iridium at X gold at XXXXX island in XX grid)
  14. And yet here you are, saying all this. While waiting for console release so you can play this game you describe so elegantly.
  15. Rhino's are unwealdy beasts and a weight capacity similar to a bear. ease of movement and 3x capacity with a cart can outweigh "not" hitting rocks with a axe.
  16. We came across this, when at lower levels I was the company tamer and only I out of our group could set "Attack Your Target" We assumed it was as I had the higher level command skills in the taming tree and the others had only enough in the taming tree to ride tier 2 animals. You might want to check if you have the command tame skills for the tames you want to set to "Attack Your Target".
  17. lets take a look at harvesting tames then: These are what I use, not saying these are the best but they are what i find get the most mats / time on the island i play. Fibre: - Bear Thatch: - pick and giraffe about the same but is beaten by bear on ground thatch. (no ground thatch on my current island so giraffe is best) Wood: - elephant, only for it's reduced carry weight. Cart bear and axe if you didn't use stam food on the elephant. (Ele is slow and has realy bad stamina) Flint: - pick and cart bear. Stone: - Rhino or axe with cart bear are about the same, (some say Rhino is better), I use whichever tame is available at the time. Metal: - Pick and cart bear Other: I have a bull for Bamboo and Darkwood. These are what I use in game. As you can see it's mostly about weight and carrying the mats back to base. If I wanted to play thematic pirates, a horse and cart would not put me too far behind the curve.
  18. You can get pillars on the corners, it's not structural but you can get them to line up. Place a foundation, or use existing one. (must have a clear edge). Snap a fence foundation sticking out from one corner. You can now snap a pillar onto the foundation corner 90 degrees from the fence foundation. Once that pillar is in place you can use that pillars snap locations to place any others. The dock in the image is actually held up by centre placed pillars, look closely and you can see a few.
  19. Only partially joking, the stresses on PC release tought them a lot and was much better post wipe, now they can learn about large influxes on already populated servers. I'm just speculating, as I don't know if testing initial or populated influx is any different or even useful.
  20. launch is in 1 1/2 years, this is EA.
  21. Stress testing servers at this stage is the best time to do it, wouldn't you agree?
  22. If the server needs it then that fine, a wipe will be needed. Adding new islands - they have already done this without a wipe. Changing existing islands - they did something like this in Ark designating an area for people to move out so a change could happen. It's not evil, if it needs to happen i'm fine with it, but a wipe for one baby crying they want a new server to play on, then no, I wouldn't want it.
  23. There is plenty of room, the game is designed for far more than are currently playing, so no wipe needed.
  24. Realist you are right in that skilled up harvesting is just as good or better than tames. But your carrying capacity is small, a bear / horse and cart can carry 10 times or more what you can, and the elephants weight reduction on wood makes transporting wood on ships a lot easier. Also a bear for AotD and carrying gold when treasure hunting is almost mandatory.
  25. I think he means that an early access game is early access as soon as it comes out and it is also early access the day before it gets released. So trying to asign a label like alpha / beta is meaningless as it can be any of those at some stage. However it is perfectly reasonable to set aside the 'early access' label and describe it as alpha / beta at various stages of a games progress.
