  1. There is nothing at all wrong with that type of thinking!!!! The thinking that there is something wrong with it and the only correct type of thinking is utopian communism is the Problem... If you want a Utopian Communist style group then you get like minded people together and make it so... But for use that Want OUR OWN elephant and ship and house seperate from our guild then there is nothing wrong with that if the guild has a like mind..... Lets not limit the style of play lets provide the tools to allow all styles of play!

This is all good and great, wonderful advice but it doesn't change the fact the game needs a way to tell the difference between Guild Property and Personal Property Guild Tames and Personal Tames etc etc.... The current communist state we are stuck in currently really is lacking and a more robust system of ownership would be greatly appreciated!!!

  7. Nope all the Spruances were turned into razor blades, Cushing was the last to go... So what I can say about those speeds listed is that the Ticonderoga's is most reflective of its actual speed.... Actually this one is solved with simple math, Ticonderoga and Spruance have the exact same hull... And different super structures! The Reason for this is the Navy wanted more Cruisers but Congress would only approve Destroyers so they called the Spruance a Destroyer lol... So same Hull, same plower plant, but the Tichonderoga is a far heavier and far less aerodynamic ship too because it had more super structure! So obviously 9600 Long ton ship with a big Square Front with the same hull and power plant goes slower then the 8000 Long Ton Ship that was more aerodynamic... As for being an older boat, it was the most successful boat in the last 50 years having performed more combat missions then any of the rest. It was able to independently steam bye itself, and often did! Why because it was proficient in all Warfare Area's unlike the, Ticho and Arleigh's who have been made with the sole focus of AAW, At the time they got rid of the Spruance, the country that had the most dangerous and numerous submarine's in the world was our friend. And ASW lost it's relevance! The Only things the US Navy was concerned with was A) Protect the Carrier (Aegis Missle defense to shoot down any inbound boggies to the carrier) B) Saving Money (Arleigh Burke is far more fuel efficient) 1 on 1 Spruance vs Arleigh Burke the Spruance would win every time, Newer doesn't always mean better and in this case it meant cheaper to run, less mouths to feed and less gas to run it....
  8. So the Game Has made cannons's backwards!!! Just like the game Screwed up with the Speed of Ships!!! Long 9's (Long Range smaller shot, typically used for Stern and Bow Chasers!) 32 Lb Carronades, (Short Range, Very Heavy shot, Short Barrel) Once again real life could have made this game better, and once again they ignored real life! Long Gun's and Carronades give ship very different tactical benifits!!! Short Range vs Long Range!!! But this game only knows one Philosophy, Bigger = Better is this game made in Texas????
  9. Having served aboard 3 different Spruance class destroyers, "The Greyhounds of the Fleet" I have some idea what flying is on the Ocean.... Neither the Ticonderoga Cruisers nor the new Arleigh Burkes could remotely keep up! So oddly I can't give exact numbers for a decommissioned ship, because the military is secretive that way but what I can tell you, is I have watched Spruance Class Destroyer's leave Ticho's and Arleigh's in the dust like they were standing still and the only ships in the fleet that we couldn't out run were aircraft carriers!!! But unlike the other ships whenever the Carrier would speed up to create better conditions to launch from its flight deck, the Spruance class could nearly keep pace!
  10. The Victory was a First Rate (First Rate = 100 Cannons or more) of which it had 104... Additionally, England Never had more then 6 Operation simultaneously Interestingly France also had 6 Simultaneous 1st rates at one point in its history! Spain had 8 Simultaneous at its peak. Dutch had 1 that broke the 100 Gun Threshold. And Russia either had 3 or 8 at its peak depending on if the Chesma class really has 100 guns or not. Basically whats the point of this post, its to clue people into the fact that 1st rates were like Modern Aircraft Carriers a huge Giant expensive under taking that only the largest and Richest country's could take part in and there were few and far between! Not to mention most every first rate averaged 5 Knots under sail and were extremely slow!!! The very fastest First rates made it as fast as 11 Knots in perfect conditions... But 8 Knots for a First rate was considered Flying!!!

  12. That statement is very untrue! The Flying Cloud 225 Ft Length held most sailing ship records till the modern day. The Great Republic 400 Ft Length Was a very fast clipper with speeds that nearly rivaled the Flying Cloud... (19 Knots) However if Length was purely the thermometer of speed then obviously The Great Republic should have clearly out ran the Flying cloud. (They were both Clippers after all) HMS Victory- 227 Ft in length should be able to go as fast as the Flying could right?!? But it could barely do 11 Knots compared to the Flying clouds 22 Knots. Depth of Keel how low you sit in the water and how heavy you are, these are major factor's that change speed! And Galleys in Game represent 1rst Rates like the Victory or Santisima, who was even slower then Victory as Santisima was estimated to not be able to exceed 9 Knots in perfect conditions. Most Sloops Ranged between 50-75 Ft. And commonly reached (12 Knots) then the Schooner (Wrong Name) In game they are more in line with Indianman's or Brigs or Snow's basically a 4rth rate depending on which of these average 120-150ish Ft with 12-16 Knots in speed.... Then We have Brigantine (Wrong Name Again) the Size of it makes it larger then a Barque or even a Barquentine so It must be a frigate which puts it around 160-170 Ft in length and a speed of around 12-15 Knots So in actuality the Slowest Ship in the game should be the Galley then the Sloop with the Schooner and Brigantine having similiar speeds in different winds! Brigantine at 135 and the Schooner performing better at 90. Sloop should out perform all at 45....
  13. 1) Skills System - There are too many must have skill's because in order to have skill A you need skill B which requires skill C, this creates Meta! - Next Problem with skills is the Magic Respec ability allowing 1 person to be an army of people thru clever use of Respec's and even BANKING level ups! **** Skills should be layed out as Professions and every Profession tree should be available from Lvl 1.... To actually Promote Professions!!! 2) Sailing - The current Big Ship is better design is stupid to say the least. - Furthermore the Speed Sail is Best sail is yet another serious problem. **** Galley's need to be slow, 1rst Rates - 3rd Rates were very slow it was hard to push around that much weight. **** Speed should be dictated bye % Canvas into the Right wind vs weight.... Meaning a light Sloop should be able to outrun a heavy Brigantine! **** Sails should have Historical best performance at correct angles into the wind, 135 for Square 90 for Gaff 45 for Lanteen.... (Gaff's should be added to game, and Manuevering's fixed too look correct and be Lanteen) 3) Taming - Currently Taming is a Mandatory skill chain! And Riding 3 is a Mandatory skill! Because tames make the gathering of resources which is already easy well stupidly easy! - Taming itself needs to be fixed, the sweet spots on elephants and giraffes etc need to be repaired so there is less of the you can't avoid being hit mechanic's **** Currently Animals harvest about 4 times faster then the fastest human, this should be toned down to no more then 2 times better. 4) Realism vs Fantasy - Giant Crab's, Dragons, Giants, SotD don't fit the game or atleast not completely! They don't balance with the rest of the game and they are often in the way! **** Keep the Fantasy stuff to the Fantasy Zone's that players can OPT into or out of bye choosing to go there or not.... 5) PvP vs PvE vs Both - PvE servers get PvP mechanic's that make no sense to them and vice vrsa - Pure PvP does not make for a good game **** 1 Server for PvP and PvE with Robust Mechanics to support both groups on the same Server! Lawful area's and Lawless area's.... Create Order, put in Factions and real government and let conflict be purposeful... 6) Economy - Player Vendors are Broken - Any other form of trade doesn't realistically work - WTF is the Point of the Merchant ships that have nothing more then Free Port NPC aboard.... **** Merchant ships should be Ferry's that run between lawful zones and ports so they can be used as Taxi's. Player vendors should be placeable onboard them aswell as in free ports! WITHOUT ridiculous costs... **** Resources types need to be regional... Different Metals etc in different Biomes, to encourage travel and trade.

  15. Sorry but I disagree with your post and furthermore they need to fix Sails so they work the way they really should!!! And get rid of this stupid Speed Sail Meta!!! They also need to fix Gally's so they are SLOW the way THEY SHOULD BE!!!! NO the problem is not the wind the problem is they havent properly implemented Square Sail, Lanteen Sail, Gaff Sail, sailing characteristics!!! Not the mention the stupid concept of Bigger ship goes faster cause it has more sails!!!!
  16. They Know Shop Maintenance cost is ludicrous they have put in updates since admitting this and yet it hasn't changed which means I am done with this game again! I came back for Vendors and Vendors don't work surprise, surprise!!!

  18. So I don't Agree with the OP for my company! However there are some company's that this type of thing could work for.... So I say it would be a good option to be able to ENABLE a voting system inside of a company! That way there are more options for people of different strokes!!!

Can you even follow your own discussion your the genius who claimed EVE was the FIRST Sandbox MMORPG and now your trying to turn the discussion into if Eve is good or not?!? 16 year juggernaut makes it a Baby compared to Ultima Online which I was playing in 1996 thats 23 Years ago! And in that 7 years, the following Sandbox MMORPG were released BEFORE IT: Star Wars Galaxies Shadowbane Asheron's Call Anarchy Online Dark Age of Camelot Runescape Just to name a couple off the top of my head....
  20. Of course Ultima Online is a Sandbox it was the first ever Sandbox MMORPG!!! Everquest was a Themepark as was World of Warcraft Star Wars Galaxies was a Sandbox... In an Sandbox MMORPG any character can go anywhere and meet anyone at any time, there is no instancing! The player creates his content, does he want to explore to the north or the south does he want to kill orcs or cut tree's or mine ore, there are no quest's dictating what the player should do. Its is not linear, there is not level specific content, Ultima Online is the VERY FREAKING DEFINITION of a Sandbox MMORPG.... I don't know why I bother even responding to you!!!
  21. The Oldest Longest Running Sandbox is Ultima Online!!! Know something about what your talking about... There are plenty of Sandbox's older then Eve! Runescape for instance!

Its Likely a big beautiful castle full of furniture and decoration utilizing combinations for wood and thatch etc because you can make something look nice and not have to worry about some arse hat like you coming along and ruining it.... And his ship is likely Multiple ships. The Galleon for killing SotD, the Galleon for transporting Tames, the Galleon for transporting resources, the Brig for Whaling etc. And when he has finished with that he could make a Bridge to his neighbors Island or Glider Towers stations to travel via them from island to island. There is a ton of PvE content a person can think of doing and challenge themselves to do when they actually have a BRAIN that allows them to use this thing called imagination. Of course we understand why you don't get this point or concept as yours is obviously less developed. Don't worry nobody likes to admit there part of the 10% of the Population that can't score high enough to even join the Army on the ASVAB.... But that wasn't completely your fault it was partially a pre-disposition passed on bye your parents!
