  1. Why isn't this posted in PVP? Your concern isn't really a General Discussion that affects PVE players.
  2. This should be posted in the PVE forum, not General Discussions.
  3. If their model is companies from Eve, then the problem you cite is also a problem for Eve. One that they just accept as a limit of that design.
  4. The saddle-torch is an artifact from ARK. A light that travels with you, on your mount, leaving hands free. Sure, it's not well rendered in Atlas. Is that your point?
  5. The complain is that it is hard to get to the FOY because of aimbots and OP trash. Are you talking about players, because that's what it looks like. Thus this LOOKS like a PVP complaint. But I was inviting you to make it not look like that by explaining more clearly. Anyway, doesn't matter now. The debuff was removed.
  6. Same problem. While using climbing picks on a slope, I was suddenly told my character died. Returning to that spot, there was no dead body, no death cache, no death marker in the sky. Will try to race to center of zone to see if my body is there. cheat TP I6 270752 -237012 6185 for location. UPDATE Went to the center of zone. No body there either. Well within the death cache delay timer.
  7. There is absolutely space for a new player to build a base on the PVE lawless servers I have visited. Are they on the coast, generally no. But there is definitely room for new players. Not everyone spams foundations. And when they do, it's really their neighbors that complain, not the newcomers. And, for that matter, north of row 4 there aren't even enough residents to make spamming needed. Not even for the most land-selfish players. Never have been.
  8. Two grams is ridiculously wrong for any coin weight. No coin could possibly weight two grams. Probably meant to say "two hundred".
  9. This looks like a PVP complaint. But it was posted in General.
  10. No, never noticed it. I started on day one in a lawless territory. No one there talked about it. In 348 hours pf play, according to Steam. Sounds like apologetics. Even if I had read it, the game still needs to display the information IN THE GAME.
  11. Or an icon, like they do for conditions and weather. And I just did a word search in the patch notes for "freeport". Nothing about increased decay. But yes, I have been reading the patch notes. That's not really where you should be explaining how features work. That should be in-game documentation. But again, a few word searches for terms in my post are not popping this condition for ships in Freeports. Nor is this information in the Wiki. Add to my frustration that the Ramshackle Sloop didn't make it home either. So this will be my third time deep sea diving in three days. With the last schooner left in my fleet. But that's just going to have to wait until tomorrow. That's enough bullpucks for now. Finger's crossed.
  12. I learned, after filing an unnecessary bug report, that you will lose a ship if you anchor in a Freeport overnight. Freeports have increased ship decay and full planks will all fail after about eight hours. Unacceptable to have no icon or message or anything that tells you this in the game. After a long night of salvaging my first wreck I stopped off in a Freeport, too late in the real world to continue the five sectors to my home. If the game never tells you that you can't dock there overnight, that's a big penalty by which to learn. Especially for a solo player with no company. Two ships lost in two days. Level 52, playing since day one. How was I supposed to learn this?
  13. Of course PVE doesn't really need that encouragement. And seriously, since that will kill your ship that there is no in-game info about. That's pretty cruel.
  14. Even while anchored? Disappointing that there is no way to be told this in-game.
  15. My ship sank last night, while anchored in a PVE Freeport. on Day 1343 at 21:19:35, all of my planks were simultaneously destroyed and then ship -1984025095 was removed from the game. This does not appear to be any sort of griefing for two reasons. M2 is a ghost town, with very few players. And none of the storage containers of the wreck have been demolished and looted. I am a solo player. It is not quite game breaking to have your ship destroyed while you are sleeping, when you live in K5. But it's pretty bad. Please look into what the cause might have been. Meanwhile I'm building a ramshackle sloop here so I can salvage the lightweight parts of the cargo of my wreck. On further look, there seems to be some rock sticking up from the ocean floor, some times it disappears, other times visible. I could climb on it, but my ranshackle sloop passed right through it. So let me post the location: cheat TP M2 5644 424584 296
  16. It's a metric that looks good on a map. "Top Companies" does not say they are the best. It says they are the top land holders. While that may not be super meaningful, and certainly isn't a metric by which I measure my efforts in the game, it is a meta-goal that the designers have selected for companies. Mostly, as I said, because it looks good on a map.
  17. And then the sharks almost got you! And you recovered the dropped gold with 7 seconds left on the timer. That was full of close calls for you. Cannons cannot hurt whales.
  18. I am a solo player and am having a lot of trouble finding the right strategy to get loot back up from shipwrecks. While sharks are annoying, if you have a ton of bows, you can just shoot at him until you die, get a new bow and some more arrows and repeat. Might take three lives, but you'll get him eventually. Strong Arm certainly helps. Although if there are a lot of sharks between you and the wreck, this is going to take a while. Melee is a maybe, if you are in armor (thus not deep sea diving, which removes your armor). But who wants to have to bring multiple suits of armor so you can re-equip and dive again and again? But electric eels are just not beatable. They are fast faster than you in swimming and have a massive aggro range, so even luring them away from your ship the small distance you can make before they kill you doesn't help. Because you can't get them far enough away from your ship to not aggro on a deep sea diver. Arrows don't make much headway. You can't melee because they stun you. And they tend to come in packs of 2-4 eels. At least you can outswim jelly fish and kill them with a bow. Assuming nothing else is lurking around. My concern here is that the underwater spawns seem tuned for ARK, which has tames and mounts. And at least in ARK you have a more powerful (if very expensive) missile weapon to use underwater, the speargun. Even the crossbow would be better than the bow in Atlas. And tuned in both toughness, but also quantity. It is a bit overwhelming for a solo player to want to recover the blueprints from their wreck to have, between their schooner and the wreck (currently) 4 sharks, 3 eels, one sperm whale, and near the bottom an anglerfish I have to dodge by hiding inside the wreck. I've only made one success trip from the bottom to the surface, and that required a recovering mission to get that death cache before the timer ran out. Other attempts failed in to get those death caches all the way to the surface (damn eels). If this is the case, I fear what will happen with these undersea trenches. If we can't fight a shark, how are we supposed to fight a giant crab? I don't have three Meglodons and some Ichys to keep it busy while i shoot at it with a speargun. So, am I missing a strategy here? Am I supposed to max out melee or something to make these fights work? Because at level 52, I don't have many respecs left in this game, which is a problem for solo players.
  19. Crawled away, more like. Under a massive burden of too much gold.
  20. Your big drop off coincides with the end of the holiday break. That is anticipated and inflates that starting number I feel. And that is a totally separate concern from your suggested feature, which should be stand-alone without needing a chicken little warning of doom if it isn't implemented. And frankly, I think the suggestion is rubbish. Definitely would not be useful in PVE where no one has a means to get to this capital flag if it is just surrounded by gates and an active base. And there is plenty of land available for people. Although it does mean going to the Arctic. People don't even foundation spam, since there really aren't any neighbors anyway.
  21. This does sound like a bug. Also note, other posts say it takes around 100 spears to take out a whale. You didn't have enough ammo anyway.
  22. Sounds like a bug report, not something for "General Discussion"
