  1. Only possible in your own territory or lawless areas. Everywhere else is taken, so it's not as easy as you may think when it comes to laying down structures as traps.
  2. The devs don't answer something, people complain, the devs answer something, people complain. The devs priorities right now are and clearly have been related to server stability and connection issues which is the biggest of all problems that need to be resolved above anything else. They have been extremely and clearly vocal about this. Yes there are some other big issues, but they are working very hard and extremely long hours. To complain that they answered a question about something that isn't even in the game yet is silly, I mean the person asking the question had no idea it wasn't in the game yet. Also to say they don't reply to real complaints and problems, well why did they do anything with Ghost Ships? Was it not because they were responding to the real complaints and problems that the players were raising? Why did they fix the repair hammer from being used to kill players in PvE? Was it not because players were raising these problems? Complaints about devs answering some questions and not all questions, and then claiming they don't reply to players real problems and complaints is just an example of cherry picking what to complain about.
  3. You don't die of old age yet, that will be implemented in later game, not even sure if we'll see it much in Early Access tbh. Currently without it is a good way to see how much people can get done before they reach 100. Supposedly you can have babies, which is also not in game yet, and take over the child when they reach 20 or something so that you keep things running. By the time it is all implemented, everyone playing currently will be 100 in game, so will be interesting to see what happens.
  4. I haven't noticed any decay on lawless except when structures disappear after 4 days if the player hasn't been online. None of my stuff has decayed and needed repairing, i'm on PvE so I don't know if it's different on PvP. I started off building a nice base on lawless, although i've found a little island I still keep my lawless place and visit it each day to make sure I don't let the 4 day timer run out. The sad reality is though if you are playing alone then the moment you go on a week long holiday it will all be gone.
  5. Were you logged off on either of the bases at all? Or anyone else in the company?
  6. Yeah, I think the first issue is clarification, they need to explain better how it all works so people know exactly how to manage the possession of their land. Then based on knowing exactly how it all works we'd know a) if it is working as intended, b) what suggestions may be good for improvements and changes.
  7. I read somewhere else on the forum that the 3 day timer is only from when you first place the flag. If this is true, and if it is intended, then it is probably designed to give you 3 days to set up a small building to get yourself on your feet. After the initial 3 days people can claim when your land is vacant I believe. The thread I read it in is here:
  8. Yes that is concerning. What they could do is, besides the notification for a few seconds, they could place an icon on the screen that stays there for the duration until either the claim is completed or you go back to stop it. Otherwise if people step away from their screen for a few seconds they'll be thinking I gotta go back to base just to be sure.
  9. Yes it needs to rain for a water barrel to fill up. I've got no experience of the tundra region though, so not sure about water sources there.
  10. Yeah when I was travelling for ages via raft I stored everything in a box and fast travelled back to base, then fast travelled back to the raft. I wasn't sure whether the claim pop-up appears when you are in a different regions, so if it does then that's good as long as i'm paying attention to the screen all the time, but yeah the fast travel will be useful for that.
  11. Yes that's how it works, although blue flag doesn't necessarily mean you will start claiming it. But one thing i'm not sure about, as someone was saying about the owner only being able to stop claims or something, but if you have 2 people in your company, one being the person that placed the flag, the other being another crew member. If the other crew member logs off sleeping on your land, and you, the person that placed the flag then goes off exploring, farming, whatever, can your land be claimed, or is it prevented because the other crew member (the one that didn't place the flag) is sleeping on the land?
  12. I believe it is 40 minutes. 30 minutes to remove their flag, 10 minutes to place your flag, not including disruptions. Yes an random passerby will pause your claim progression, when they leave the area it will resume after about 10 seconds but adds 5 minutes to it. Rather annoying if it is in a busy area where people are harvesting everything.
  13. So does that mean the moment you leave your area to go farming or exploring someone can start to contest it straight away? Which would mean you need to keep coming back or fast travelling back every 20 minutes or so? Unless he's talking about the timer you see when you press F1 but before you place the flag. But the fact the flag is either red or blue gives away whether you can place it, but doesn't necessarily mean it won't be auto-contested.
  14. A timer? All I see is a small red flag above the flags.
  15. Ah I see, damn what people think of. Although wouldn't that just be solved by ghost ships attacking back when provoked? Or maybe the raft would be too close to them for them to aim fire?
  16. This does make sense at all because raft is the only type of boat that Ghost Ships do not agro towards unless you attack it. I have made trips back and fourth plenty of times on my raft and have gone past tons of ghost ships. One of the ghost ships was so close that I actually went through the middle of it with my raft and not once has a ghost ship ever attacked my raft. I'm not sure what your experience was specifically besides what you mentioned, but they are designed to ignore rafts unless provoked.
  17. You mean these posts? https://www.playatlas.com/index.php?/profile/52728-protozz/ It doesn't take much to look at your own profile before claiming things are being deleted.
  18. How old was the original flag? I know that there was an issue with the 3 day timer where people could contest under 3 days, that was supposedly fixed according to multiple sources, however, i've heard that it only is fixed for new flags, so if his flag was old maybe that was why he didn't need to have been offline for 3 days. I believe (although not confirmed) that the original owner can contest a claim that they lost without waiting the 3 days, but anyone else trying to contest it would have to wait 3 days. It's difficult to confirm all of this. As for resetting timer I think you just have to be on the land for it to reset to the 3 days. So if you have multiple lands you can simply fast travel via bed to reset all the timers which I believe is all you need to do, and this is probably why people with multiple claims have different timers on them. As I say this isn't 100% confirmed, but this is what i've observed.
  19. When placing structures that have various different designs, such as wall has window wall, door frame, sloped wall, half wall, railings etc. and Doors have windows, you will see on the screen in the bottom left that it tells you that 'T' changes the type and it will display what types when you press T, and Q to change snap point. As long as you have the HUD enabled you should see it all in the bottom left corner of your screen.
  20. It's a bit silly to walk away from a topic you started simply because you don't like the responses it generated. Beds appear to be tied to claimed territory, this is how it works. Lawless land cannot have any claimed territory. Does this make it hard especially for PvP yes it does, but that's how it is designed to work particularly with the ability to claim land. Everyone that starts playing from this point onwards is going to have big issues settling on land and progressing because there is so much land already claimed. But come on, don't get narky because you didn't get the responses you wanted to hear.
  21. I think beds are tied to claim flags, this is why beds do not work on lawless land because there is no claimed territory. I don't think this is a bug as it is the way it has been designed.
  22. How is PvE irrelevant to a conversation about beds not working on lawless areas? I mean I think lawless areas should allow a bed to work, not sure why they don't to be honest, but it's the same whether it's PvP or PvE.
  23. Yup I learned in my first few days not to leave anything in a smithy as I noticed my mats gone and i also spotted somebody at the freeport going from raft to raft scavenging. I get that it's a pirate game so scavenging should be a thing, but not on PvE. I stuck to using storage boxes at freeport. When I moved to lawless I kept everything in my smithy as I had a hut to protect it.
