  1. Exploration is good, but as Forb Hidden mentioned, you don't really need to rush for disco pts. At the start, you'll have plenty of disco pts. So, multi-tasking at times is good too. I searched yet cannot find posts (might be on reddit) by some person who went around 24/7 getting the discovery points. Someone please link it for me
  2. The lag, and optimisation, is nearly getting there, it's not laggy at all compared to how it was. 20+ ships can fight each other and not lag too bad, is what I hear. That could change with the new version though. I think boomer missed crossbows, and some other things. Otherwise, that's not a bad list. I don't know if it's a struggle to find stuff to do, if you are still at the stage of trying to settle and make a base on a island or reach end game. Reaching end game is fun, I guess, It's just a bit too shallow of an experience (fix/keep working on your game, devs!) but I think someone would still be able to make a nice video about it to show your friends. Oh, there is a new building called the silo which can be used on a claimed island, and will pay and feed NPCs on that island. And cargo racks? They are OK.
  3. If he logs out while in front of your cathedral, logging back in would be a problem.
  4. Hahaha. 300 tames per "gridregion"? Hopefully that is a typo (gridregion appears to be a typo itself, hahaha?) @PFG you seem angry, and I cbf to read this thread just yet, can you please give a summary, without the "prove it. you're bullshit." stuff? WTF at your last question there, you want to personally know how large a foundation is, or do you want to know how large zottel thinks it is?
  5. Tame times are good, I tame stuff just for fun quite often. The only animal that can be annoying to tame is the giraffe. They are ornery. That's why it's just so annoying that the breeding is EXACTLY the fucking same, except they added further annoyance with the temp/biome requirements. The temp/biome requirements are good in theory, but just not when used with the copy paste from ark. What about brontos? I remember taming a quetz for the 8 hours or whatever it was, in mid-air using a friend's quetz, and I fell asleep at the keyboard. I woke up the next day, my eyes start focusing on the scene displayed on my monitor, I think I can see my character (somehow alive) standing next to a dead quetz on the ground, then the vague memory of seeing the taming was 99% done, and relaxing because I thought yay I made it, shuffled around in my brain.
  6. Yep, I know, it didn't take much. another edit: the game doesn't require much, so that it can be hyped, but it does require some of that optimism, so that it can be a decent game
  7. Well, our CM @Dollie posted the announcement 17 hours ago, and since that time has not contributed to the forums. She logged in 3 hours ago, not sure what that was about. Yay, I can't wait to get my hat. Thanks for your reddit post
  8. Ok. Some areas have more discoveries, deserts were a favourite due to them having ruins near the beach. Golden age ruins can also be good. Going for the easy disco pts is the best option, sometimes don't bother with climbing picks or even running up to the top of mountains. Spyglass will show you disco pts, so you can just sail around, spyglass will show disco pt, get the island disco pt, then spyglass again to see if there is any easy disco pts. If you want to explore and get all the discovery pts, in a way that doesn't bother about building/hoarding mats or reaching end game, it is as simple as go to every island. There was a person on reddit who was doing simply that, just sailing around getting the disco pts on a sloop or schooner. Brigs are sadly useless for speed and transporting stuff, tbh. Climbing picks are very useful. Getting the disco pts first is a good idea, as you will then avoid wasting possible xp gained when you work out what you're doing. However, while you're getting disco pts, I will be grinding and will have more stuff than you always Cow and chicken on the ship is the *best* for rp'ing/pve'ing at the start, cows give milk for blue vitamin, chickens give yellow, craploads of berries (some colour), and some cooked meat (the other colour) Fortitude is good stat to start out with, and is what I lvl up myself. Unfortunately, due to the way the hunger and vitamin system work together currently, sometimes you want less fortitude. I think 10 or 15 fort is fine at the start. Going for medicine (and building and farming) is a good plan, if someone else can go captaineering and ship building. I think at the start, everyone needs to aim for beast mastery tier 2.
  9. I'm not sure that can be correct. The opposite might actually be more true. edit: one of my first posts on this forum, I asked "do xbox players want to play with pc players? do you want your own server?". Because I asked that question to the wrong person, and the reply was crap, I stopped thinking further.
  10. Ahahaha. Yeah so funny. You are relevant. Hopefully, eu pvp guys just play on na pvp server. Afaik, all servers are hosted in germany anyway.
  11. If it does fail, you can blame pc players? Haha. Pc game gets developed, pc game halts development to get copied across to xbox, game still doesn't "succeed" and you want to play the blame game?
  12. Dollie said we are getting our hats
  13. Undoubtedly the best source for perspective, been on the forums since launch, hated the game apparently, but then when the game started to fail, he went around saying crossplay is not only a good idea but will save the game, that PC players should get wiped so that they suffer (just a little bit) and now he's saying that he's not even playing on the servers getting wiped, or on servers that have been confirmed to have crossplay. In this thread, now says crossplay is a bad idea. Best go to source for perspective, many people go to learn from him. I can't wait to for him to let us all know why crossplay is a bad idea, now that he has let us know that it is a bad idea. Huh? If atlas doesn't fail, you're able to blame pc players?
  14. Did they announce crossplay on unofficial? Oh, yep there probably will be. That should be fun.
  15. Not to mention we can't know that for sure, because it was in a thing called the "past"? I do know that there was a time when people thought the game was like frogger on the ocean, and it was silly, then they quit. Your argument to look back at all the history of complaints from people, and not provide any further explanation yourself, makes it difficult to have a discussion here. All those complaints through history are all completely about immersion? I care about immersion, things like storms, ghost ships, and krakens fit the setting. The game mechanic that has been used to place them in the game could use some work, obviously. Sotd fit the setting to a much lesser extent than the other 3 things you mentioned, however they are hardly immersion breaking.
  16. You were expecting that post? I was expecting that post too. Where's that lol wut pic when you need it.
  17. You are being very informative. Go forth and do your good work. Ahem. Does it say that NA pvp is launching on Saturday, and then xbobs can join a week later with their launch?
  18. Kummba didn't make any sense, and he used your joke character as a reason why he wasn't making any sense.
  19. What did you expect? For what type of interview it was, I thought it was good. Why did you think there was going to be useful information?> That's something that realist was blabbering on about. Common ships take hours to put together, and sink in moments. Myth ships take a long time to build. Currently, there is people (carebears??) running around saying that the power gap is too big, and do you know why? Because its not stupid easy to build a ship that can defeat a myth ship. Can you explain further? Also, I think Erik was actually referring vaguely, just like he did in the q&a, to the ramshackles thing. edit: I think just more options is the best way to go. I like how (worthwhile) ships are not stupid easy to build, and I like how common ships are nearly stupid easy to build, but I don't like how they sink stupid easy. Why is more events on the seas, is a bad thing? Who has quit the game only because of sotd, or storms? Thats a bit weird. I know they are annoying, but they can be fixed. See a sotd and quit, sail through a storm and quit? That is funny. I know you got lots of posts with some good ideas on how to improve the game, but this post of yours is kinda shit tbh. Or we could go play CoD?
  20. Haha, often when you purchase a animal, you can check the ancestors and see that there is ancestors named "800 DMG", for example, and your newly purchased animal has 500 dmg.
