With each new patch, more and more I want to play the very first version of the game, with one condition 1 player - 1 flag

Yes my title is to provoke a dev to view. Ok so, filling water barrels and taming is broken. I can't tame chickens or monkeys when I follow them with berry's on 0 nothing comes up. Taming is one of the main reasons this game is a complete FAIL compared to ARK we can only tame shit that get destroyed by alphas. DEVS will never see this they don't care about ATLAS.Allow alpha tame and levelling up good tames to become alphas you complete imbeciles and this game will start selling again.Big signs without writing need a faster decaying time, they're everywhere.A limit to haw many shipyards 1 person can have down at once is needed. PVE is packed, and we don't have 40.000 people.PVP is suicide for lone players like me PVE needs to be fixed for PVE not for PVP.Atlas can't afford to keep losing players because the DEVS don't have a clue on how to make this game interesting FIX IT.

Cargo racks should have improved stats when making higher grade BPed cargo rack. For instance, fine, journeymen, masterworks, legendary, and mythical BP’s should all reduce weight carried on your ship. The higher the quality of the cargo rack, the more your weight is decreases.

I just read the upcoming "Patch Preview" notes and wanted to comment on the following notes: "Removed Gold drops from Kraken, Squids, Army of the Damned Soldiers, fishing, and digging. The trade system will become the way to earn gold " I believe there is a current balance flaw in the early game where Pathfinders do not have easy access to earning their first bits of gold. And I think this patch note will only make it worse. Right now, there's only two ways (that I know of) that a new player can get their first gold on a Freeport island without having to leave the grid. Those two ways are digging with a shovel for gold, or fishing with a fishing rod for fish. Both activities require a lot of other actions to take place. First you to need to level up to be able to craft a smithy and a fishing rod plus chair or shovel. Then you need to place the smithy, but you cannot place structures on freeports, so you have to collect resources to give to the harbormaster to buy a ship to be able to even place the smithy in the first place. Most people will opt for the ramshackle sloop, and right from the beginning you are wanting 10g to even begin to properly man your sloop not including gold for keeping your crew. If you chose the shovel route, you will break your shovel multiple times trying to scrap together enough gold to hire a crew. If you chose the fishing route, after you have placed your chair on your ship because you cannot place it anywhere else to fish on freeports, you then will need to find bait to put on the fishing rod. In which case, you will have to hope you were smart enough to land on a freeport with sugars, or have to go and craft a shovel anyways, just to dig up some worms to go fish with. And during this whole time while you are trying to get 10g to hire a crew, your ship is decaying in the harbor. Of course you could always sail your sloop without a crew outside the freeport to grab some flotsam and then come back and buy your crew, and I suspect most veteran players do this. But I want to highlight the point that the current game flow to earning your first gold is not intuitive, and most definitely not new player friendly. Removing gold from digging and fishing only makes it worse in my opinion. I ask that you reconsider removing gold from these activities, or better yet, come up with a better and more logical flow for new players to start making money in their first hours of play. Finally, I am concerned about the last sentence in the patch preview note, "The trade system will become the way to earn gold." With the development team increasing the importance of gold to gameplay (which I very much support), I wonder how players who do not wish to, or cannot participate in the trade system are supposed to earn gold? I completely understand if you're looking for ways to prevent gold farming, however, there still needs to exist multiple alternative avenues to getting some gold when you have no one to trade with, or all trade routes are blocked.

My character is level 33. A pair of pistols, a shot gun , bow with 60.... 60! Arrows isn’t enough to take down level 17 soldiers of the damned and onlly 6 of them. Over 100 bullets aswell. I would shoot an enemy with either the pistol or shot gun ( that dose the same damage...) and one hit would do about 10% damage.... straight after, the enemy would just go into the ground and pop back up with 100% health. I know you can craft explosives and they work well. However what is the point in being a pirate if you can’t have fun with the classic pistol , this isn’t player friendly especially when you have players needing to build traps before you spawn the enemy to trap them. The sword works well... enough. Also the treasure chest looks to be like it’s inside a large stone wall, how are you ment to get to that without using your cannons to blow the wall up takeing god knows how long. Early access and my god !!! I hope they fix these things

Start communicating. Mind-blowing, I know. Sweet Jesus, the idea is so good I may patent it or something. Using Community Managers as a two-way mirror only shows disdain to players still lingering here. The game is worse than it was before the new team. All the excuses in the world won't change that fact. Treat players like shit and they will, in turn, treat the game as such.

I fully agree with your points, and it makes me very happy that I'm not the only one. I would point out that it might be nice to have a very low chance of gold from animals like monkeys (who have in real life stolen money from people) just to get the concept of gold into the game. I think the other simple solution would be to have "quests" in freeports, tiny missions that reward gold, for taking out dangerous animals (that would only spawn when the mission was taken) This could also serve to explain why there are no (aggressive) predators on freeports.

I think the Devs need to understand their player base IS PVE. I know they want to be a PvP game but thats not where their players are.

Are you fools TRYING to kill your game??? Being able to buy a ship for gold at a freeport makes sense (implementing a shipwright building or something similar would actually be pretty cool for this). However making players pay gold in any amount, especially after grinding for HOURS to gather the resources needed to build a ship in their OWN shipyard is nothing short of assanine! Who exactly is this gold suppose to be going to anyhow? It's my shipyard, I built it and I own it, but I have to feed it gold to build anything bigger than a sloop? If this is some haphazard attempt at staunching the growth of the overpowering mega-companies I fear you are morbidly mistaken. This will in fact only give those oppressive bastards an even greater advantage over we smaller groups even moreso over solo players, and lessening the number of ways to procure gold only threatens to exacerbate the issue. Mark my words, if you do indeed implement this "fix" this game will be dead (or very nearly so) within weeks.

Hello everyone, Please remove the ability for players to track players on the pvp servers. You should not be able to see steam names in game and it is in my opinion also a mistake that you able to see how many players are in the server that you are currently connected to. If you can tack players and fleets outside the game mechanics then you can not be a pirate or do strategy as a company fleet. Remove the tracking outside the game and then streamline tracking inside the game as a game mechanic. You should not be able to see people joining by steam name or player name. It might also not be necessary to show exactly how many are on the server that you are connected to. If you think about it even the chat might need reworking. There should not be a global chat but more of a local chat that covers the max render distance or a region on the map. The alliance chat also needs to be changed so that you can talk to the different alliance groups you have and are a member of. You should also have a in game contact list for chat! Those changes would make this game a lot better in my opinion. This would make it possible to create more game mechanics in to the game for tracking and doing bounty hunting! Please make this happen, i do not want my steam name to be 123! just so i can play this game!

The game is horrible right now, if you are not 20 people or more in your company. Problems: There is no way to keep your stuff safe when offline as a small group, because you can not take an island and hold it. Lawless is a horrible place to live and you can not really hide because the servers are connected to your steam id and show it when entering a server! Freeport is broken and your ship will decay really fast as a new player. Large company's are keeping all there valuable stuff safe there and you can not touch it. Game balance is a nightmare right now! Solutions: Remake the Freeport and lawless system. Make pvp possible everywhere but add npc navy to protect people in Freeport and lawless. Add a security status to players and npc. Create npc governor settlements on lawless where you can build good relations and safe log your ship and items for a daily gold upkeep. Freeport should be a place where you can not build and only go there to turn in starter quest. When you are lvl 9 and above you can no longer enter freeport. [Player islands] Player owned islands need to be limited to two island per company no matter the size. Company's need to be limited by having a tax for company size. If a company goes over 30 people the tax in gold cost for having the company needs to rise in cost exponentially. Likewise having more then two allies also needs to have an upkeep cost. (You can call it an administrative empire cost that is payed to the npc regions.) [Sea pvp combat] When we talk about pvp on the open sea, then there are some problems regarding server traveling and balance. Your ship should have a 5 min cool down if damaged by another player or ship that prevents server traveling. If you manage to not get hit for 5 min then you should be able to flee to another server. This will stop people from abusing the server border to escape after going in to deep of griefing. There is also the problem of ship sinking being way to slow and losing planks is happening way to fast. This need to be adjusted so that the leaking of your planks starts way sooner but it takes a lot more to plank a ship. If you get planked you will sink really fast no matter what skills you have as a captain. If you have a leak you will not sink as fat but still fast enough that you have to repair the ship with in a few minuts or you will sink. [Ship weight & build] Ship balance is also a big problem in the game. (I will not talk about barrels right now, it sounds like they will be removed form the cannon soon) Ships need to have more leeway when it comes to weight and speed. We want to be able to actually build stuff on our ships and still be able to be part of pvp. Change structures to weight almost nothing and sort the way armored ships work by sorting the building limitations on the ship models. Make the speed curve start at 35%, where ship weight under 35% will not impact speed. Change the sails to have the same max speed and add different advantages for the sails then speed(Acceleration should not impact max speed!). Then Either build on the current sail system or introduce a full sail rig system that you place with one click on your ship. [Blueprints] The blueprints are to insane right now and they are way to hard to get. The hardcore factor of the blueprint system is a big turn off for most of the people playing this game. This should in my opinion be adjusted for the new season! You need to think of the blueprinted stuff as a slight advantage form a common ship. For instance a really sick mythical blueprint should be a max bonus of 160%, so you have a 10% rise in every blueprint type. common, fine, journeyman, masterwork, legendary and mythical. This will make the gap lass insane and a common ship will still be able to be part of the fight. You will also not run in to players hips that just are impossible to beat. [Why am i writing all this] I am trying to help the game be more open to new people and make it a more fun experience for everyone. This should send the game in a better direction and make it a more fun experience. I was one of the people who suggested the combat time for player owned island in season 1. If you look at my old post you might be able to find it. This change helped the game gain a lot more favor form people who game and also have work in real life(A lot of your costumers are in that segment and will also be on release day!) This system for player owned islands gave you a way of stabilizing the player owned world and has given us a lot of good security but still having a healthy amount of pvp. Now this could still be adjusted and improved but that is for another post. However, once again i am imploring you to read the suggestions and understand that this is not only my opinion but the wast opinion of you casual community. We are a large group of people who want to play the game but we can not play it at the moment because of how broken and unbalanced the mechanics are. Best Regard Jack Shepard

Its pretty simple. Alpha animals are extremely overtuned still. Alpha lions take 8 headshots (or more) from a common rifle to kill and will kill you with 2 hits wearing armor. You have NO CHANCE against an alpha predator. There is no reason for them to exist at all. You won't buff firearms because of PvP so do the community as a whole a favor and nerf alpha animals or remove them completely.

Taming Selling animal Idea!A Cage that you can put animals in that you can set a Gold price on it and pet inside, cage is locked until person pays the amount, then cage unlocks and animal can be claimed. Gold transfers to the seller or says in cage for buyer to take out.Done deal.

Instead of having ironwood on one island, my suggestion would be to have it spawn on multiple islands OR, move it to the Golden Age Islands. I would much rather fight off hordes of monsters and creatures than have one company spam their island with pickles and making it impossible to gather the material. With that being said, every other company become slaves to the company simply by having to trade with the island that controls the iron wood.

I realise that there are some potential issues with this feature request, but I am sure the developers can work those out. In may cases it would be enormously desirable to have right triangles to put in corners, like this: https://prntscr.com/ubz9pk This looks silly, and there is no way to fill it out currently. One issue I know of will be that one side will be somewhat longer than the other two, but I am pretty sure something can be worked out about that. I do not know the capabilities of the game engine, but maybe it can automagically stretch walls to fit or something?

Yes, we need to progress and mistakes will be made but in the end we will have a better game.

This game can only thrive if they start catering to casual players. Nobody wants to invest (or have the time to) dedicate hours upon hours a week to maintaining or building a base/ship, only to have it destroyed when offline. Companies need to be nerfed massively - 20 or less people per company, one island per company. Freeport is being used as a storage station - companies should be able to store one boat per freeport with a gold upkeep cost. How difficult is it? Really? One boat, one company, one freeport. Need a much better reporting system - I've had several underwater bases (200m+ deep), destroyed by exploding barrel exploits. If you aren't going to try to protect the integrity of the game, it's not worth playing. Want to improve your game? Start by appealing to casual players. Get rid of the large companies whom do nothing but drive away the player base. You start appealing to the casual base, start making it casual friendly, you can start implementing in-game purchases, cash for gold. If casual players knew they could get on, have meaningful PVP, you'd start to see a turnaround in the sentiment of your game.

today I took 14 hour to tame a few animals. Taming can be so bad that it can take up to an hour because the taming goes down so fast. It also has glitch problems as well. Lost so many creatures I tried to tame and had so many problems like something rolls up to kill it that I spent an hour to tame or die by the bola glitch when it disappears from my hand, creatures twisting every 5 -10 and kills me. Getting stuck in bad places where I can't even feed like through the ground. Using 20-30 bolas or more to tame one animal. Feed timer is so slow and got to feed individual doesn't help especially when something attacks or gets in the way to feed in time, causing the bola to time count down and nothing can be down to increase timer, but to wait until it breaks, just to start over. So many problems to deal with just to tame. Its getting so bad that so many people have to build traps to capture animals just to tame because of how bad the taming is. The feed radius is so small, most of the time it can kills you easily. Worst of in all of this,, it can waste your time that you can not ever get back of gameplay that can put you in a very bad position to get your base wiped or to frustrated to play. What needs to be done is to up the taming because its a joke. Feeding radius needs to be bigger. Need rope to extend the timing or have a bola reset the bola timer when throwing a new bola. Fix glitches and have animals not to attack anymore since that gets a lot of people killed (even in Ark they are knocked out and can't attack). What else we need is a Net and a net gun for capturing creatures, fish, and players (if player is caught and has anything sharp can cut free, not creatures). I believe this would solve so many issues its having.

sigh.....nothing new here. I posted about this last year and only returned to the game recently hoping to finally get to live out pirate fantasy life. Skeleton archers are a trope that has been around for years and is why they are in the game, so they get to fire on us but we cannot fire on them back? As I posted before it is a trivial fix if they did not like people kiting them to shore to plink them from the ship - because the system already knows where the damage is incoming from . All they needed to do was stop that and allow the low level who want to plink the freeport damned for their treasure using their bow they just learned. Cure the inevitable LTP get a bear posts...

@Jat @Dollie Why do you always make the same mistakes? Aren't you really happy with the total number of players? It's no secret that these are at an absolute low. You just have to look at the steamdb. But you also don't learn anything. You failed to start the game. There were already a lot of negative comments etc. Then you had forgotten to patch out the ARK menu beforehand. This gave rise to rumors and the community was even more upset. The number of players continued to fall. But you failed to communicate again. Why didn't you put it right? Why the menu was there etc. Why didn't you explain to the players why ATLAS should not become a DLC from ARK. You preferred to remain silent and leave it like that. It would have been so easy. And it kept going and going downhill, etc. A lot has happened in the game. But the number of players has not recovered. Now you try to turn the helm around again. A new world map. A changed concept that sounds pretty good, etc. In addition to the mods that are available, etc. But as we have seen today, you always upset the community. Things that could be done quickly to please the community are simply oversleeping or take a long time. I understand that you don't want to release the ServerGrid file for unofficial before the start of your server. But if they are on, it should be possible. I'm afraid it will take forever. The people who have their own server, no matter if 3x3 or 15x15) will not play on the official servers anyway. We have been waiting for a DevKit update for a long time. With all these things you make the community feel that you don't care. Then what is the result? Even fewer players. Is it worth it? Is it worth the effort and stress you had in advance of this game? Was that your goal with all the internal things that went so wrong? Success would have been desirable. But collaboration with the community and communication doesn't really work. It's a shame. The game didn't deserve that. And sorry for the English. It comes from google translate.

I love this game. It is so rewarding when you put a lot of grind into it. The issue is, it's still broken. The devs go months without posting any updates and ignore their player base. As a result, the game is dying, clans are quitting in droves and there is no longer a decent player base. This results in even lower Morale, which causes more ppl to quit. ITS A REVOLVING DOOR!!! My entire clan quit because of the lack of updates, fixes, communication. Dear ATLAS DEVS, It is not too late to make the game an amazing game. Begin communicating with us! Maybe try to actually read a damn review or two and comment?! Or is it just much more fun to sit on a beach drinking Mojitos using the cash you stole from steam players with empty promises?

If we could get a lot more attention that'd be great! More communication, More updates and streams, just keep us as informed as possible. We’d love to know all these plans and content thats planed to come to the game! This game could be huge just needs more love and dedication

These need to go or be dealt with, as a newer player I cannot stand these ships. I would not favour in total removal because they actually drop some decent crew if you take on the good ones. However there are way too many all over the place, it feels as if the pvp is mostly with the SotD more than players. I tried to have an ocean battle with some other players and what do you know a fleet appears scrambling the direction both me and the enemy had to take. Not to mention you can cross a border and freeze for a moment just long enough to ram into a SotD and lose everything. These ships are easily killable at green-yellow tier but none the less everywhere and hard to avoid when you don’t want anything to do with them. I cannot travel 2 grid squares without running into a minimum of 1 fleet and 2 red galleons on the way. Tldr; SotD should have a designated spawn region, be affected by wind, not spawn near server edges, and maybe have a vantage point of sort (sails or killable npc manning their cannons) They’re really not that hard more of a pain with the red galls but designated spawn regions sounds best to me or perhaps a disguise tactic buyable by gold coins from freeports to disguise half as a SotD for bare minimum to no aggro range for new players trying to avoid them.

I have to agree here... having your ship shot a dozen times before you even can react is not fun nor cool... days of play can be lost in an instance.. please for the love of god make a server setting that defines the distance from the zone border the ships of the damned must be (so server (custom / private))admins can at least give us a chance to zone in all the damn way and react.. or perhaps a server setting that gives us say a 10 second invisibility to ships of the damned upon zoning in.. I just lost my higher level brig this way sigh..

Lots of SotD squads are most of the time close on the server edge and FK with the players who come from another server?.. where u cant do anything about it when ur screen freeze till ur finally able to do somethin u lose too much to survive it many times ? we are not the only ones that lost some ships bcs of this nonesence. Why does thos SotD dont travel to the middle or away from Server edge as they do it with the Islands. Players Travel way TOO OFTEN into Squads when we try to change a Server... behind u nothing next server HELLO 2 Galleons say bb to ur ship -.-" PLS change somethin about it... for example: SotD have nothin aggro so they travel to the middle of the ocean. TLDR: Npc's on swivels are broken, disable them to be mounted onto swivels. I've talked to a few people on this subject from different companies now and pretty much everyone agrees, please remove NPC's from being able to sit on swivels. Having a device that can be placed behind a doorway on a boat makes ship boarding difficult if not impossible. It's something that either needs to be policed as a bug (along with putting the captain's wheel inside a box) or taken out of the game. The easiest way to fix this problem would simply be to not allow NPC's to man swivels. That way, you can still defend your ship but you need a player to jump on the swivel if someone boards your ship. I think it would at a much more interesting design to ships in consideration for where you might need a swivel placed to create a "kill box". Additionally, it opens up a myriad of different ways in which you can attack a ship (especially with the new harpoon changes). I could get close to an enemy ship and have a few of my crewmates jump over to the other side to engage the enemy in swordplay on their deck, meanwhile its chaos as the captains are still fighting on the wheel to shoot cannonballs at eachother while the melee breaks out on either or both of the ships. This would lead to a new meta when it comes to NPC's making them more useful for fighting. Now the CODE RED button actually would mean something as if someone jumps on your ship you may decide its time to get your cannoneers to focus on the problems on your deck. This also creates a new meta of actually arming your NPC's with gear and swords. Currently, people just put ncp's on stations without any kind of gear on to save weight. Instead people might keep an extra reserve of npc's with gear on board just in case someone manages to glide on to their ship. Even when it comes to giving your NPC's new stat upgrades it would make a huge difference between fighting a level 100 with a bunch of additional melee damage and an upgraded sword vs the current meta which is simply all npc's are leveled into health as they will never leave their station. At the very least, npc's on swivels should be taken off of ships. I understand the intent especially for using them on another boat, but I think that it would make the game far more interesting and pirate-like to have people grappling over to your side to get in a scrum. Lastly, I wanted to touch on swivels on the ground. This is more of an optional change as I don't want to take away from the main issue which is swivels on ships. In that same right, however, I think that swivels have no place on the ground being manned by NPC's either. When it comes to base defense you can use puckles, catapults, and harpoons for defenses. The reason I find this so irritating is that people are building large bases on top of pillars that even if you manage to climbing pick your way to the top, they have full swivel coverage that stops you from being able to actually do anything. At least with puckles you can tank a few hits and find a position to use your grenades. With swivels, it's 1 shot and you're done. I''m open to any other input people may have regarding this, but I think it would make this game quite a lot better if we were to take NPC's off swivels and let players actually have some pirating fun. I hope the dev's see this as they don't often seem to care about posts on this forum. But hopefully someone will be able to catch their ear!

Nope... get over it... distance is protection... distance makes things worth something needed for economy... it is part of the survival aspect in a survival game... makes competing over specific islands worth something... would also kill any possible ship encounter even more... As useless as the idea to make the ships faster, to the point they are past you before the render... Dont need the whole server jump into any grid at any time from anywhere like a bunch of imperial star destroyers coming out of hyperspacer... If you dont like long travel, dont choose a huge map server like official... otherwise get organised... Option 3 - dont build roleplaying ships... light ships are faster... go light...

Apparently, according to how they handle things, all you need is one enemy on a second account to infiltrate and start cheating.
