  1. It sucked to be base wiped in ARK, but as much as that sucked, most people were not emotionally attacked to their Square, ugly base. And, it wasn't really hard to have a new base. These ships are NOT square, ugly bases. They are beautiful sailing ships. The phrase, Romance with the Sea, comes to mind. So how do you fix this in a PvP game? Here are some suggestions. 1. Your ship has an amazing buff when near the shore of your home island. This should not be a guess...you should see an icon denoting that you are buffed. This buff should be such that people will not randomly blow up your ship...just because it's there. Too costly. If this is not done, Zerg Companies will just go out on patrol at night, while you are offline, and blow up ships they come across. This will not sit well with most people. Call this mechanic, "Safe Harbor." This should apply to ships being build in a shipyard also, and maybe even be buffed even more to help reduce the times you end up frustrated by your ship being destroyed before it even sails. 2. Have a point system for lawful/unlawful reputation. If you attack somebody, the meter goes toward unlawful. One raid would not make you an outlaw. The idea would be to slow this down so that it isn't constant PvP, just for the sake of PvP. Also, the meter can be affected by "lawful" actions. Too many unlawful actions in a short period of time gets your Company labeled as an Outlaw. Now, a "Royal Navy," comes after you. Reward flyers would also be posted, listing the location of the outlaw company's facilities...not ships. Destroying their claim and buildings would net a large profit. A profit large enough to entice large alliances to carry it out. So this would make Company's think before acting. Yes, you could raid. Yes, you could pirate, but not constantly. Thus, even Mega Companies would only want to raid as much as a small tribe. It creates repercussions for being bullies, just because you are big enough to do so. 3. Get rid of the decay at Freeports. We don't need an incentive to go explore. We DO need a safe harbor to anchor at, when our claim is stolen, and we temporarily have no safe place to anchor. Instead, charge a port fee. This is realistic, as this is actually done in real life. Call it a port tax. You have to pay it in advance, with no limit for how far in advance you want to pay. Allow the selling of resources to get the gold to pay. The reason for no limit is that somebody may lose their base, but be heading out on a vacation for two weeks. An arbitrary 3 day limit would screw them. It's not necessary. People WANT to create their own base. They don't need an incentive to do so. We came here for the sailing, and exploring. Not the taming, fighting lions, etc... We WANT to sail our ships. 4. Rethink the skill tree. Don't make me choose between having combat skills, and taming skills, and ship building skills, etc... I play a game to have fun, not do a job. I do not want an ATLAS job. One day, taming a wolf will sound fun to me. Another day, building a ship will. Another day, building on the base will sound fun. Etc... Every time one of those sound fun to me, and I can't, it will create frustration. We don't play games to be frustrated. We play to be challenged, and for fun...not to be restricted. By the end, you should have at a minimum, you should have 90% of all skills unlocked. Stop with the tangled web also. Make them linear. That is not boring, that is fun because we don't get angry when we have to spend points on crap we don't want, in order to get to the one skill we do want. The current tree is not interesting, it's an abomination. Unrestricting the tree will help us get back on the sea faster, when we do lose our ship. Making the game noob friendly is not achieved by slowing progression. New companies can compete better, when they can quickly get to the same level as the established Companies. 5. Insurance. Allow for an insurance system, to replace large ships that were destroyed. If a lot of the suggestions above are implemented, this would not be as necessary, but if getting back into a ship is a slow painful process, this will save the game. People want to sail ships, not repeatedly build them, over and over. It should not be super expensive, and this could also be used as an incentive not to do too much needless PvP, as it could be made such that your lawful/unlawful rating could affect how much you have to pay for insurance. 6. Offline Raid Protection. This was wildly popular on ARK unofficial servers. 7. Time to build a ship should be in line with how easy it is to lose it. If you want ships to go down fast and often, then make it such that ships can be built fast, and often. Kind of only makes sense. Ships can't go down fast and often, if they aren't being built fast and often. 8. Ships of the Damned should be a rare encounter. Very rare. They are way too OP, since they do not suffer a speed loss when going into the wind. To make them more interesting, however, drastically reduce their aggro range...very reduced, but the longer you are in sight of it, the more the aggro range increases. Thus, when you see one, you want to instantly flee in the opposite direction. So when you see one, you say, "Oh crap, let's get out of here before it spots us." 9. Give a real incentive, and mechanic, for trading. If left up to the community to do on their own, it won't happen. There must be a mechanic, and incentive for it to happen. 10. Create a much more robust permissions system. - Captain - Owner - Officer - Admin - Experienced Deckhand - Deckhand - Recruit Allow us to decide how much trust we want to put in each level. We do not want a Recruit, Deckhand or Experienced Deckhand, to be able to move the ship, for instance. Only an Officer or above should be able to name the ship. Remember the fiasco we had with the new recruit, who named the ship something offensive.
  2. But then the part of realism that is missing is that wild animals have learned to largely avoid human areas, as ONE...ONE arrow could kill them...not 10, or 50, or 100. And humans also meant traps. We don't have traps in this game. Humans also had dogs. We don't have dogs. OK, well you can tame a wolf I suppose. But wait...I don't have skill points to use on taming because I am trying to spec for the inevitable combat, and also some useful skills like ship building, etc... So let's not get into the abomination they call a skill tree.

  4. Pretty sure this isn't intended but 2 wolves just respawned inside of our base structure. One next to our building and the other inside of our house....
  5. The wolf Situation in Atlas is an actual problem. I'm not just saying this cause i'm some newbie. I'm an Ark player with 3000hours of in game play. It has 2 Issues. Issue 1 The spawn rate of these and most predators is insanely HIGH along with almost every animal in the game. This kinda animal density is like Jacking Arks dino spawn rate to 3 or higher. Way Way WAY to many. A single player with a bow cannot defend them selves against 5-10 wolves every 5 minutes. Its a loosing battle. Its 110% unrealistic to think you can win with that kin of odds. Issue 2. Speed and attack strenght. These Wolves are WAY to fast. You cant fire on them cause the send you let your arrow fly the wolf is a good 5platforms away from where you aimed. And once they get to you thats it. You just have to stop fighting cause its a 0% chance of hitting so you just have to let your self die.

  7. I think Lions, Wolfes and Snake should not be on Starter Islands. And Beds should work there. Its frustrating to run always back to your Home when its possible and you are not on other Island. And fighting again Wolf is not possible. You cant really hit them.
  8. Wolves and lions are 100% overpopulated and have either too much health or too much damage. Shit is redic trying to corpse run even a level 1 wolf / lion will kill you.
  9. Not at all, you hit a wolf for 25 and it has over 200 health, it bites hard and does a knockback, so by the time your weapon swings, you are most likely out of range. It is total garbage. Even with the 20% vitamin buff, you do 30 damage.
  10. And fix the fucking AI script that makes alpha wolves EAT a wooden base when nobody (including bodies) are inside. Why? What the fuck is a wolf chewing on a wooden wall for?
  11. Can we get a 50% reduction in the range of which aggressive animals will pick up a player? Can walk out of my house and nothing in sight. 3 steps later I'm getting eaten by a wolf.
  12. Bugs that really break the game right now: -Resource spawns are broke- Resources spawns should only block for player placed structures...not the entire claim area. All these islands are claimed, so the effect is game-breaking. -Destroyed Ship (PvE)-Our Raft and 2 sloops were destroyed. All three were anchored and all three in different grids. -Character Spec bug - My character is sitting at -168 skill points. Go figure. -Ghost Ships Galore! - Yeah, nobody wants to sail any more because they're afraid of getting jumped by 6 Ghost Ships. Not a fair fight on a Sloop. -Resource naming bad - I harvested crystal! or so it said. It ended up being salt. Fix that please. -Server Stability - Yup, you guys are working on this one hard. Keep it up! But don't ignore the other bugs! Not BUGS, but bad decisions: Skill point tree adjustment: Think before you do. There are more small companies than large ones. Don't cripple them. Resource balancing: I get that the gather rate should be low because you don't want 200 easy-mode ships per company...but those same resources are used for base building. Maybe lower the ingredients for base structures? Overpowered animals: The balance, level for level, is off for animals. A level 2 wolf should not be a contest for a level 25 player. Rare resources that are across the world for taming: Good thing to encourage travel, but we don't want to have to go 13 grids over for sugar cane. Maybe other sugars could work the same? (this is one of the many examples) Here's a suggestion for claims: Don't have them block resource respawns. Limit the number of claims per company, regardless of company size. Get rid of open-sea claims, or at least right off the shore. Why in the world has someone surrounded our claims (4) all around offshore? That's a bad mechanic. Hope this finds the Devs! -T

Ok, last 24 hours creatures are agroing form huge distances,and the behavoir has changed as well.add to that that i can point black arrow to the face 5 times to nearly no damage..... hit detection is simply not happening in any way..... and creature clipping walls is getting very tiresome. these are all easy fixes, i know ya have alot on the plate right now with stability issues, but its simply not fun to get killed by teh same unkillable wolf or lion 20 times trying to get to your house. i dont klnow what you adjusted... but it isnt working nor is it any fun either
  14. After a few hours of trying to locate a shore base location to build my first boat (aside from raft). I managed to find a spot/claimed it and parked my raft near the shore with a bed. I died to a pack of wolves on the shore (level 27 -> 250). Every time I re spawn or even get another raft from the free port to reclaim the lost items, I keep on getting killed before I even reach the shore. Swimming in the water drops aggro, but the moment I step on the raft they start coming after me again. If the wolves were level 1-5 I can deal with it. But its constantly level 20 and or 250 in quantity's of 3-5 which one shot me through the bottom of my raft. Anyone has any way to drop aggro completely, avoid etc. To the point where I can start making some progress to get enough gear to vend for my self? Sounds like a rant, but its very frustrating as this is the first claimed shore area in almost 20hrs of game play for me at least.
  15. I spent 40-50 hours on this game, making my way through many bugs and lags. Forgetting about the nightmare that was happening on the first day at the start, i swam between the islands for more than 10 hours and died tons of times to find land for settlement. I spent a lot of time building my house, gathering large reserves of resources for building a sloop. And when the game is trying to kill you all the time: lions, wolves, vitamins, spawn system and just dozens of bugs. And when there is no iron on the island. All of this is a big pain in the ass. You come back with the hope that everything will be fine further and this will not happen again. Every time you do a game favor. Remembering that this is "early access" and turning a blind eye to various problems. So, I tamed a wolf for riding and it was difficult and long. it was very exciting, but the result is justified when you sit on him and send to explore the island at high speed and jump, when the neighbors look at you with envy and admiration for the first time. Within 20 minutes after driving pleasure, I lost him after the game kindly brought me down under the texture. It was the first time I removed the game from anger, not wanting to take another loss of everything ... But something got me hooked in this game anyway and i'm back...I was going to continue to be attached to the meaning of pirate life, if it were not for one thing ... Going into the game after the rest, I found that all my lands were captured by other companies (I was playing on the PVE server). The whole island is in red spots, like a sore ass baby. Literally in 2-3 days there was absolutely no space left on the island, even a poor, lonely gull has nowhere to make a nest. Аll my buildings that I built for several days, spending tens of hours collecting resources. And yes, this is not an easy task when a character wants to eat all the time, but the strip of vitamins is already at the limit, and your iron tools, already once again eats a pack of super-speed wolves with you. From the four beds there was only one, which was hidden in the mos inconspicuous place, like a spawn. Missing ship, pier, old raft... Only me and my bare ass are left! everything passed to other people, who snored loudly and haughtily in my house, into which I could already enter. it is enough just to stick the flag while you sleep in real life to claim land. Should I start all over again? Are you serious ?! And now the question is, what's the point of playing next? I have to spend dozens of hours every time on this tedious grind, but in the meantime I go offline again 1-2 days and lose everything? I have to sit in this game 24/7, whoever puts his flag in my land? Without a "tribe", a solo player has no chance? No romance "lonely captain-robinson"? Only the ruthless gathering of grind resources? In this world, my character has no place, because every piece of land has already been captured by others, just a week after the release. I like the concept of the game, its scope and the spirit of navigation. I understand that there is not enough space for everyone on the islands(servers), and there are many who want to settle there. And these people will want to get more. Single players have no chance of survival and development. hope that the developers will come up with a system to claim territories suitable for all. Well, at the moment, it makes no sense to continue for me. PS Sorry for the "many letters" and curve english. But I really wanted to express my opinion.
  16. I never ever been so pissed off by a game than I am with this one ! I finaly was able to place a claim (Yep I found one) , start to build a house , then I was surrounded by animals , Alligator , Giant snakes , Vulture , Wolf and lion ... I went back to my Raft where my spawn is (no bed in house yet) and there got a really nice surprise , a lion Alpha lvl 200 , one shot was enough to cool me down ... Spawn back , same again , one shot ... cool down of 1 min before I could go back to spawn , and then Spawn at bed disapeared , No one was arround , it was a PVE server , Claim freshly done , the only possibility is that this Alpha Lion shot the bed too ... I'm really fed up with all those crap mechanics , seriously ...
  17. once you set foot on other islands you get shit upon from mobs. once you finally (AFTER DAYS OF WORK) get your medium ship, you get raped by a ghpst ship because apparently they spawn to hunt everything bigger than a raft how is this balanced ? how are you supposed to fight those if the only thing you can manage to get is the skills to build a ship ? guns are where down in the skill tree ? are we really expected to grind / die / rinse / repeat until we get enough skills to - have fortitude to max to survive conditions - have the skills to built tools and weapons - have the skills to build ships plus storage for stuff and water - have the skills to arm and use cannons ? what is that ? level 30 ? you devs want us to get our butt cheeks divided until that ? this game is impossible to play as a lone wolf. you will get fu/%&ed so hard. the game and the devs shit on you. they think endless grind is good. wake up call: it´s not. grind can be fun, IF ITS FREAKIN WORTH IT there´s a reason a lot of PVE players cry about private servers, and complain. the game is just a beat up everytime you play.
  18. Hi. Me and my friends are constantly getting stuck inside animals while fighting them, therefore getting killed, because once stuck we're unable to attack or move. So far got stuck inside elephant, wolf, spider, boar. No idea how to EXACTLY reproduce it, but it seems to happen randomly as animals keep spazzing around.
  19. I actually did this with the alpha that caused me to ultimately post this. I ran the Alpha Wolf to the OPPOSITE side of the jutting rock we're built on. One of the ones with resources at the tip of them? So the amount of space I traveled to pull this thing was pretty large for the size of the character model. By the time I respawned from a bed on a raft... that Alpha was back to the same side.
  20. No I agree 100%, the 1st three islands I went to after the freeport I couldn't even make it to shore without being attacked by crocs. Found a clearing at the fourth and was attacked by a wolf. I managed to kill it but then a 186 lvl alpha scorpion killed me; at the time if you died on land you couldn't respawn on your boat so that was the end of that 6 hr journey. So I'm in a small company now like 5 people who play around the same time; we are on our 4th attempt to get setup somewhere as we have yet to find an open spot to build and have been thwarted by large tribes, whales, and ghost ships before being able to plant any roots (40 some odd hours in and I'm no further than I was after my 1st hr). We set sail again a little later today to a barren ass ice island that has no fiber, veggies or fruit, should be fun. =/ Oh yeah our last trip to about 4 servers in the icy region was full of dying to wolves and being spawned camped by them on our sloop, fun times. On a more serious note, seemed like all the islands required you to fight your way onto them as hostile mobs were damn near a sure thing at every entry point.
  21. As title says, i loaded into EU PVE F13 died to a wolf and my level 15 characters gone, all i get is character creation screen
  22. I fought a wolf and the wolf won. I didn't have my map open. Now since i'm dead, when I try to log the map should open to let me choose my respawn bed. I don't know if it's what you want. I answered to try to aggro the devs
  23. Are they gonna fix the land creature spawn? It's kind of hard trying to gather mats when every 2 sec a croc, 2 giant snakes and a wolf spawn right behind you. Anyone else having this issue?
  24. wolfs a re a fucking joke , no matter the lvl they do the same damage , they do the ridiculous knockback and take the same amount of arrows to kill , what is going on with them ?
  25. Lions, man. Lions need to be nerfed hard. I put in almost 5 hours last night, and right up until the last 15 minutes everything was nice and calm, other than the occasional wolf, snake, or bear, until all of a sudden a pack of 4 lions and a screaming meemie of giant snakes spawned in right on top of me and insta-killed me by leaping, latching on, and firing me off a cliff like a cannon onto the beach about 280 yards away. They then proceeded to kill every single thing in our area on the island, one- or two-shotting pretty much everything until there was nothing left. If it wasnt for the high spawn rates, the whole place would have been barren and this could be considered an extinction-level event.
