  1. Hello! I think my program is finally ready for public consumption. Thank you for waiting! Its still not even close to perfect and probably has a few bugs. Let's just call it an alpha release for now. Original video: Autoswitching feature: As a refresher this is the program that will dynamically help you open and close servers on the fly so you can play privately on the full official map, with just average hardware. If you can run at least 1 server, this will work, allowing people to even run it on the same computer they are playing on. Main bullet point features: * easily update the ports and ip address across all 225 grids on your map. No more needing to tediously update everything individually on the ServerGridEdior. * Automatically generate all 225 .bat files to start each of the servers * Open and close the server you are on plus the 4 surrounding you (automatically even), any 4 individual servers on the map, or a combination of the two, control up to 9 servers at a time. If your computer can handle more than 1 server, even better! If it can handle 5 grids the program will even track your location and dynamically open all the grids around you so you won't even have to look at the program while playing! A bunch has been added since I lasted showed off the program. Now I include steamcmd and a one click sever setup button as well as an update server function. I also added a redis server on and off switch, so it really now is a one stop shop for nearly everything. It even saves all your settings/locations on close so you don't have to remember anything. The only extra thing you'll need is the servergrideditor from grapeshot. I also wrote out an insanely indepth instruction list, included in the download to hopefully walk anyone, no matter what comfort level, through setting everything up. My apologies, apparently Windows doesn't like the website I setup to download and is blocking everything, so I have to use something stupid like dropbox... Link will also be in the discord server if this stops working. v1.5.4 changelog: Fix for Autosaving on exit not functioning properly. I won't say this is 100% working, but it's the most I will be able to do on my side given the program doesn't actually touch the servers, it's still all dependent on Atlas' autosaving on exit code firing off properly, which can be hit or miss, but in my preliminary tests, I was 5 for 5 on not having a slight rollback on exit and reload of entire server like it was happening before. Rollback may still happen on server updates because it seems for some reason the server is programmed to automatically do that? Fix for slight desync on individual grids, this goes hand in hand on the autosaving not functioning at 100% when switching servers, which may have caused desync, which in turn causes problems reconnecting, problems with the map not updating ship locations, problems with characters not loading. Fix for grids not shutting down on switch or on exit because another square has the server loaded up even though it was not turned on. This season, our PvP servers have been designed with shorter and more focused sessions of PvP gameplay in mind. We are now introducing a new server with a much more limited company size setting. This will allow players to enjoy the thrill of PvP with smaller groups without the pressure of larger companies opposing them. We recognize that Xbox players sometimes feel disadvantaged compared to PC players, and we are therefore launching a new server that is exclusive to Xbox users. For those who prefer to play with their PC-using friends, all other servers will remain cross-play enabled. To incorporate these new ruleset servers, we will be repurposing three of our PvP servers with lower population counts: [NA][PvP] Ivory Shores [NA][PvP] Seagull’s Beak [NA][PvP] Stingray Bay Ivory Shores, Seagull’s Beak, and Stingray Bay servers will be taken offline to wipe on Monday, January 30th around 9:00 AM PST. The new servers will be available on Wednesday, February 1st around 12:00 PM PST with the New Year Patch mentioned previously in this post. New Servers Three freshly wiped 3x3 Official PvP servers will be opening with a brand new map layout. Variant 5 Information: Mixture of Tropical, Desert, Temperate, Polar and Equatorial biomes. One home server which includes a lawless Freeport island. One grid containing a Golden Age Ruin island and a Trench (lawless!). List of New Servers: [NA][PvP] Emerald Shores Xbox only [NA][PvP] Seagull’s Beak Company size limit: 10 No alliances [NA][PvP] Stingray Bay Standard PvP Final Note Again, we would like to emphasize that ATLAS is still in Early Access, meaning many things can and will likely continue to drastically change - even in the middle of development.   4. RedBeard, i am afraid that you are aiming in the wrong direction again, just like all of the other 5000 Grapeshot devs before you. No, we dont need more content, we need the current content working. No, we dont need buffing the zerg conpanys. We need buffing the solos and small groups, who are the majority of the players. You could start by removing the claim towers, which finally have driven me and all of my friends from the game. Please remove the fountain of youth, as it is no fun. Remove the Kraken quest to unlock game content like subs and torpedos. Remove the max level penalty for players not willing (or not able due to company size) to travel and do the stones quest. Please strengthen defence and nerf offense. Just now it does not matter if you have 100 stone walls around your ships and treasure or not. If you refuse to do this small companys will stay to be cannon fodder for the zergs, just like it is now. No, we dont need modular ships. Modular ships have driven the creative players away from Atlas. Your plans for the future will, once again, strengthen the weaknesses of ATLAS and nerf its strong parts. We dont need stupid zombie voodoo temples, we just need a pure working pirate game. Of course you will not listen to me, as devs never do, i loved the original game, at the moment it is „way to much of nothing“. I certainly will return if i see a perspective to survive in ATLAS in the patch notes, which is currently not the case at all.
  5. Ahoy fellow pirates! We have a small company of 4-6 players who need somewhere safe to lay our heads under the stars. We're a well rounded company with all easy going and chill members. We enjoy the social aspect and love to have a good laugh but are growing fatigued having to restart every few days. Unfortunately for us we just don't stand a chance against the big boys and are looking for a very specific set of requirements in our allie(s). 1.) we don't have a true leader, we are a team but no marching orders..Players are free to do as they please (within reason) and not subject to having to be someone's errand boy. We play on xbox and party chat with each other. We wouldn't want to be required to party chat with your company. Also it's important that we be allowed to do our own thing unless you need a hand. This would need to be respected and adhered to. That said, we believe that acting as a team is the only way of sustained success in the world of atlas (that's why we are looking for you!) 2.) we do not wish to simply settle on someone's land; we would want to form an alliance to protect ourselves and our ships, blueprints, tames, etc. 3.) Every company thus far has required us to be on the front lines. Though we understand everyone must pay their dues and we have absolutely no issue; in fact we eagerly welcome helping you defend what is yours full stop. However as previously mentioned, we need somewhere safe to keep our boats, blue prints, etc.. I realize this is a complete stranger asking for a lot but knowing our company and how we operate this is the only way we can assure a mutual beneficial alliance. 4.) In return you can count on loyal allies. If you need help defending, raiding, trading, etc. We will be there for you. A few facts about our small group... - 3/4 based in the UK -1/2 based in the US -all met one way or another through xbox; never met in person but hope to change that in the next year or so. - all 18+ and often our discussion on audible activities should only be heard by someone 18 (age span from 23-37) - 3/4 of us go pretty hard so you can count on very active players - the lot of us are pretty experienced and have learned a lot playing in the last few months. We certainly aren't noobs but struggling to maintain a high level of success without one of the big companies giving us a chance (we realize you giving us a chance is a dash of good luck). We've built many, many, many ships, bases. etc. and witnessed them all become ruins or decor in Davy Jones' Locker. - we are in this for the long haul and would like to alliance with a like minded company. We know that once we find the right fit what we bring to the table for your benefit will greatly enhance. In short, we're certainly are getting the better end of the deal, we realize that, but if you need loyal and active players that be counted on and you're cool with our requirements, please reach out to me here. We would love to pirate the seas with you. May your skies always be blue and the wind forever at your back! Argh!

Golden age sucks for small companies as it’s a breeding ground for mega trolls sinking unarmed boats and players trying to do powerstones without losing ur ship to the Megas and the devs keep letting it happen and it gets old u wanna know why the player base has dropped this is why we can’t do any of the PVE aspects of the game to lvl up when the megas lock down golden age and other PVE area’s of the map it’s not enough the devs made it harder for small groups to play by adding the gold cost to all boats but the sloop and the megas take all the islands that are worth having and some just so no one else can STOP Catering to the mega companies make golden age and other PVE based activities no kill zones so we can stop getting trolled when we can’t even defend ourselves against blue printed boats and armor i’ve tried to do powerstones so many time that i have gave up we can’t even go farm SOD there without the trolls showing up after i kill one just to sink me and take the blue prints so tell me how we’re supposed to be able to pvp with them they need to lower the number allowed in a company and lower the limit of allies so we can have a chance the only reason they need 250 players in each company is cause there trash without numbers
  7. I would love to see a solo or a small company up to 10 members offical server. With fresh wips every season. Just seeing the numbers of 176 people in one company or more is bad for the game. I wish they had limites.

We hope you’ve all enjoyed the 2x event over the Thanksgiving Weekend! This week, we have a bit of a smaller maintenance patch, with the Small Armored Dock now available! Small Armored Docks, for Schooners and Sloops, will have 20,000,000 health. We are also beefing up the Large Armored Dock to 30,000,000 health. Gold upkeep has been lowered to 150 a day, while Small Armored Docks will have an upkeep of 50 a day. We have also made a number of changes and bug fixes to balance and improve the Armored Docks. Rest easy knowing yer furry companions are safe onboard your protected Ships! Development and optimization work for the Trade System continues! We have made improvements to the Market UI for Market Searching. Most importantly, we have addressed several server issues to improve performance and latency.   10. Hi, there is one problem for single players: the Island points. I would really like to have my "own" Island, but it is not possible, since all the cheap Islands are claimed by big Companies. Could it be a solution, that the Island Points are bound to the number of Members of a company? For example an 15 Point Island can only be claimed/owned by a Company, which has less than 10 Members. If the Company grows, they have to find a bigger Island, with more Points and have to claim this one for further growth. So it would be possible for new, small companies to claim the little island. And one Island should be enough for each Company. The big comanies own half the map, while small companies and single players have no chance to claim the few high-pointed-Islands that are left.
  11. Unplayable for small Tribe We are a small team (7 players) and we can't play because we can't challenge the islands all occupied by the big teams. Isn't it possible to create small islands only for companies with less than 10 players? They could be raided by all companies but not occupied by teams above 10 players. Or we could create flags for small tribes to be placed in low less that would allow us to protect a small defined area. In low less we can't leave our boats, otherwise we will see them sinking while we are not playing. And staying in freeport is no fun for us or others. Reducing the number of players per team and the number of possible alliances could also be interesting. There would probably be more wars instead of big full-player alliances. My English is bad, so I apologize for that bad translator....
  12. So, I think the cost of gold to build a ship is a good call. Let’s be honest, it sucks when you pull to an island and it takes 5 minutes to load due to the 80 galleons, brigs and schooners there. My concern is to the trade system, which is going to be a large issue for many small company’s (my company is just my wife and I, ever since we had a bad experience on ark.) and solo players. There just is not enough space to place a farm, warehouse and market for each player. It needs to be one per company. (At least on PVE) Another alternative I would say could be viable is letting people bring materials to a location and sell them directly to the market or the forts. This would help many of the solo/small company’s. I have been playing for about a year, and can honestly say the game is better than ark; there’s just more to it. But while I understand it’s an online survival game, realistically a crap ton of people play it in small numbers and limited time. I get on generally 6 to 8 hours a week, split between 2 days. Same with my wife. Please don’t forget about us small company’s. I basically lived off my schooners. It’s a bit harder to do that on a sloop. I can’t see myself coming up with the amount of gold to make one as the system is now. So, in short; nice system, but it needs some work. Please allow the direct sale of goods from players to markets or forts, to help us get a schooner.

  15. What is up with the devs pushing small companies out of the game? My wife and I just came back after a long hiatus. We’ve been in Megas, we’ve been in medium size companies. This time around we just wanted to chill. I do like the option of PvP, so we went back to PvP and decided to live the lawless life. I am aware of the consent sinking of ships, we had a plan to get around this. We don’t hoard, which THANKS TO Farmhouses that was easy. Ships, well, just basic common ships. We use them during the day they get sunk at night. It wasn’t that big deal, 45 min I can get a brig reset. Now, we do have def lots of puckles in the base and a harbor wall, with cannons. Keeps the other Bobs away, but not the big bullies. We have been playing this way for 3 weeks or so, and it was fun. Now they, the Devs are taxing players with “gold sinks” for needed items to play the game. As a small company WE don’t keep huge amounts of gold at the ready, and having to pay to replace a ship every day… that’s stupid. Patch notes are indicating we have to have trade routes to actually make gold? It’s not the PvP side that bugs me. Before this update, I had no problem losing my ship and rebuilding, again part of the game, Paying for crew part of the game. In my opinion, charging gold for you to build a ship in your own ship yard goes against the spirit of the game.

Given the spatial limits on warehouses which were supposed to help make gold which would let us buy the expensive as hell ships to get onto the water and play which is what the devs supposedly wanted except they made it harder by making ships so expensive which requires more grinding and less gaming... and island ownership of a limited number of islands...no explanation needed Is this game worth playing if you aren't associated with a large company? What else can you do for fun (not grinding for gold) with such high barriers to entry for the 'fun' parts of the game as a solo player/small group?
  17. I am starting a Blackwood server that can handle a good amount of people. I have about a dozen of us that are going to split into 2 groups. I am hoping some other small clans would be interested in joining to engage in PVP skirmishes. We don't want bases destroyed, just some good pvp. I have a lot of experience running servers and am very much against moderators that spawn items in to help their own groups. I plan on having the server up for a few months to complete the "endgame" content. XP and gathering rates doubled and I am running some of the more popular mods that don't change the game a lot.   18. I honor your good intentions, but unfortunatelay they fail to work. The armored dock is a nice new structure, but 10.000 gold is ridiculous. Warehouse/Market is not working, as the mega companys take all sea forts and block all trades of other players than the members of their mega companys. Take the sea forts as solo player ? Very funny, i tried, defence firepower of 6 defence towers is awesome.... i dont think you can take them out without an amarda of galleons.. no way !
  19. I'm posting this suggestion that a critical change that could help the progress of smaller companies, and help make the game more fun in general. Currently no one knows if the Freeport settings on live are on purpose or an accident. Tames, last 8 days in the Freeport, only requiring that you render them in, and feed them to keep them pretty safe, other than players trying to gather wild Freeport animals to kill them. Mine have been safe at least. You can keep anything on their inventory safely essentially saving your progress in the game. Ships in the Freeport, at first seems unmanageable to keep them floating until you increase resistance levels, my brig at 220% resist has been fine, and would take about 16hours to sink. So currently if you dont want a claim you can manage keeping everything besides a farm in the freeports. Saving my progress this way, knowing other players cant ruin it has been FUN. Knowing that if I steal something cool, or do something difficult in the game, I can save it. I cant be online for 9 hours everyday to keep a claim. This is the only way I can play atm as a small company, there are still huge advantages to having a claim like infinite non decaying ship storage, so that you can have more than one or two ships. So what I'm proposing is that you make the Freeport more of a sanctuary for small companies. Introduce a Freeport bank npc that can hold like 25 slots, no weight limit, for small companies. Do not link the bank npc together, we dont want people teleporting resources across the atlas. All this would be is a small cache of items that is personal to each pathfinder, and has nothing to do with the company. Not enough to save everything but enough to pick what's important to you to save. You have already introduced a nice trading, and shop system, which has little merit to small companies that have no where safe to keep their items, except for Freeport tames right now. I do like the settler system, however big companies aren't struggling with upkeep, so while they probably wont mind having settlers, the settlers arent of much value, so there's not much incentive to protect their stuff on your island, also bigger companies will just push that you merge with them rather than be your own company, while they cant MAKE you do this, they CAN however, evict you and wipe all your progress. However this small personal Freeport bank could fix alot for solo/small company players allowing them to do buisiness with big companies without fear that the big company will decide to wipe all their progress. I LOVE YOUR GAME, and I hope you can consider a Freeport bank a possibility for its future. That way each fight/ battle doesnt have to end in someone wanting to quit, or realizing big companies are the only way to play it at all.

En low less nous ne pouvons pas laisser nos bateaux sous peinent de les voir couler pendant que nous ne jouons pas. Et rester en freeport n'est pas amusant ni pour nous ni pour les autres. Remédiez a ce problème s'il vous plait c'est un jeu qui a beaucoup de potentiel ! Faites nous rêver. En plus des skin payant pour bateaux animaux armes et armures seraient intéressant, se qui vous permettrez en plus de gagner de l'argent.

Hello Everyone, These are the small problems that break immersion every day i play this game! pleas fix soon - Elevator platform, when going up on the elevator you keep falling trough unless you move back and forth(Easy fix, platform value is set wrong!). - Farm house, when you pick up the new stone farm house you get a wood farm house back? - Water pipes and the grill should not be this hard to connect together!(I suggest making a flexible pipe for this) - Resource looks, if it looks like a strawberry before you pick it up it should also be a strawberry after you harvest it!(medium fix, clean up resource node looks to mach what you get) - When using third person and cam clips character model or structure it creates frame drop.(fix cam so it does not clip or make the fps not choke) - Animal collision with objects and other animals, they do not need to stick together that hard and sometimes they even get stuck in the ground. - Food, some of the food recipes like the Beef buns don't give the vitamins it's supposed to give.(No matter how long you wait!) Do you also think this is annoying? Do you have small stuff to add? Please like my post, so we can get this fixed Best Regard Jack Shepard
  22. Hi everyone, because there are and always will be players who prefer to play solo or in small tribe, here is an idea that could be simple to implement and would rebalance the pvp. Why not limit alliances to the total number of players in the alliance. Let's say 50 players. A big guild of 50 would not be able to make an alliance. A guild of 10 to join with 4 other guilds of 10 players. 50 solo players could ally themselves... Obviously it would require some serious management of the number of players per guild, but it could balance the pvp. Don't hesitate to put a like if you like the idea so that the devs look at the post ;) Good game

  24. One issue ever present in Atlas is "Megas" and the lack of options for small groups outside of those mega power structures. I have a suggestion for this I'd like to pose to the community with a TLDR at the bottom The Background For those unfamiliar, mega companies or megas, are very large groups that right now dominate Atlas. I've personally experienced one group being so large that they split into 3-5+ Companies that ally each other. This is out of necessity. Defending an island is no small task. Making it so that you can hold that territory, even against a small group is difficult let alone being attacked by a large company or group of companies. This time and capital commitment is not my preferred game style. There are those of us that wish to play a smaller, more water based game that doesn't involve base building or land holding. As of now this type of play is only supported if you can find a mega to allow you to park in their already defended harbor. This causes more lag for them and many harbors have to be "opened and closed" to stop suicide ships from running them. This makes getting your ship in an out of this lag fest a hassle. Also, why would a large company care to deal with that hassle? It also eats up an alliance slot. These large mega alliances have capped out alliance slots as it is and a small privateer alliance just frankly isn't worth their time or slot. Many of the large companies this season have even given up on having any "renter" companies on their land for the same reasons. The Vision What I dream of for this game is many small groups all vying for resources on the water. Squabbling over a ghost ship loot, ship wreck or other npc content with loot to fight over. Harassing harbors and intercepting cargo ships. I'd like to see the ability for 2-10 man groups that want to play together not be forced into the landholding grind. The Path So how could this be implemented in a way fair to both groups? Holding land is a PITA so it needs to be valuable right? Small companies need to have the ability to exist with out big daddy alliance/company there to protect them. I think I have a good solution. The island holders need a buff. There should be a substantial amount of resources that each held island gathers passively and puts into the flag. The amount should be based on the point count of the island and how long the island is held. Islands in would automatically produce the items available on that island. If one island has iron while another one has tin the resources gathered in that island's flag would be different. This would go for each type of resource. Now one company using its points to hold one grid might not make sense. Instead a mega alliance/company might spread out and trade resources between the grids. This is great for everyone. Large companies will create content for everyone just by existing (moving resources between islands, moving ships around to defend islands, etc) while having a benefit for investing all the time and resources into holding and defending. So that sorts the island holders right? What about the privateers who want to sail around, drink rum and yarrrrrrr to our little black heart's content? Well I have a solution to that too. Add a function in Freeports for purchasing a slip. Have it scale with the size of the ship so that a brigantine costs more than a sloop. Nothing concrete but do 36hrs, Weekly and Monthly slip rentals. Lets say it costs 1,000 gold per week to store a sloop and 10k per week to store brig; something like that. I'd love to see this be an instance where you can actually teleport into it and walk around your ship and access the items. There shouldn't be an unlimited amount of ships stored either. I'd say no more than 2 ships per company or player. When you join a company all your ships must be undocked and all slip rentals forefit. Now you can build a ship and log off without waking up to a spawn screen, hop on with a couple buddies and create content for other players. The TLDR Resource gain to islands held by players that scales based on the time an island is held and island points it costs. Add a system for renting slips for small companies to be able to pay gold and store a ship safely while logged off.
  25. You would expect the small wood gate to be granted with the rest of the wood gates by gaining 'secrets of building' Instead, it is granted by 'Esotery of building' with all the stone stuff. Side note: the tooltip for esotery of building is always off the screen on xbox because you can't scroll down.
