What should be a priority fix according to players poll?
Elrood posted a topic in General Discussion
Hi, I'm quite curious what do you think should be the highest priority for wildcard to fix. Maybe they will read it and take into account our feedback when some numbers (of people) are involved. I tried to include all hot issues. Single choice - what is the biggest pain for you right now. -
Lets face it many of us came because we love breeding like ark, but 2 things the gestation and breeding people need sleep, 2) should not have to depend on what temp zone to be able to breed with the huge huge chance of getting a single piece of land it is not possible. Please list what is breedable so far only know of 2. 1.Chickens 2. Monkeys

There's been a lot of reports of cheaters in Atlas as of late. Personally I have not experienced or encoutnered a cheater of any kind yet. Sure, assumptions but not concrete proof. But there's been multiple reddit posts and forum posts popping up like these: I feel like Grapeshot Studios should respond to those kind of things and let us players know what they're going to do about it. As you can see in the video added to that, the entire scene on minute 5 seems quite sketchy. - I think in these kind of cases it's important for the devs to communicate with people about such things. Especially because they advertised this game as an EVE Online kind of game, where there is playerrun ecenomy and territory. But what happens when cheaters are bringing inbalance to this entire ecenomy and territory? Then it's ruined, and you will never get it right anymore, despite being early access.

I would like anchored ships to protected more to stop offline destruction. Maybe have a certain time from 5pm to 1am (as people are normally home from work by then) where anchored boats can be sunk, and anytime outside of that they are safe. Just a thought as the offline griefing is already way out of hand.

The way to get them is cheesy, fighting them is cheesy, the OP'ness of them is cheesy. /discuss

The initiator of all this is others. From the game release, we started to enter the game, we drifted for a long time to find a small territory, and when we arrived here, the surrounding has been occupied by English players, there are no Chinese players around us, due to poor communication We are excluded from all English players on the island. Just because we don't speak English. They first hammered us with a hammer, seduce animals to kill our animals, and sank our ships with some kind of BUG. We have screenshots to prove that it includes several of the largest ships. And when we couldn't stand it and fight back, they joined together and they seduce the ghost ship to destroy our only home, losing nearly half a million pieces of wood and other materials. We were very frustrated at the time and began to study how to fight back.On the evening of January 27th, we used a boat to seduce the ghost ship to attack the people who destroyed our home. Their company name is East India Company, a name that is obviously colonial. On January 28th, we once again seduce the ghost ship to attack the Black Flag Company. This time we belonged to the unintentional division. At the same time, we reached an agreement with other English companies on the island and no longer used this method to retaliate. But our losses are far more than that. For the loss part, we will not pursue it.Although we did not communicate well, we are still working hard to make friends with some friendly English players.Although some English players have already spread the news that we will ship in your English platform, for us, the information is unequal. You have banned a company from us this time. We can't figure it out. It doesn't seem fair, because it's not us who started it, but other English players. We use computer-aided translation of this passage, and if we can communicate on an equal footing, then we can express it more clearly.

Ships in Atlas are just getting more and more ugly, and as a matter of fact, unseaworthy. Some of the ships we see going out would "turtle" (roll upside down) at the first strong wind. Others would move at a snails pace due to the surface area being presented to the wind above the deck line. Yes, its awesome we can build interesting designs, but lets keep that to cabins and below deck, not these god awful monstrosities we see on the sea now that would never sail in real life given the technology of the time. At least penalize folks if they want to build a wall 3 high of 30 large cannons all on one side of the ship, all well above the water line.

What I propose works like this to counter small character meta. 1) character mass - (muscle/fat) affects hp and carry weight [at max + 50% hp and weight] 2) character (leg length) - will affect running and swimming [at max + 35% run speed and +12.5 swim speed] 3) character (torso height) - affects stamina and oxygen along with counting towards mass. See 1.) [At max +25% oxygen/stamina] 4) character (hand size) - affects swim speed [+ 12.5% at max ] - affects hand to hand [+ 12.5% damage -5.5% attack speed at max size] - affects hand gathering [+20% resources max size] 5) character (foot size) - affects swim speed [+15% at max] but increases stamina drain by 10% when swimming or running] affects fall damage + 20% fall damage reduction 6) small (skinny) characters will see the negatives of these with the addition of [having to fall from twice the height to take damage. ] [50% more stamina] [15% more attack speed] [ 20% faster reloading] [reduced melee] 7) character (arms length) add melee and gathering [ at max length increased melee 12.5%] [+ 10% swim speed] [+12.5 % draw speed with bows] [-10% attack speed with melee] [33% aoe on gathering] 9 ) character (arm mass) [+ 25% melee damage] [+10% melee attack speed] [+10% move speed when dragging] 10) character (leg mass) [ + 10% stam ] [ +15% movement speed when dragging] [+20% movement speed when bones are broken] [+20% weight] 11) set a certain threshold on mass for boost of 2x on fortitude So a character who is max height torso and legs. with medium torso, big legs, big arms, hands, feet and the longest arms would have stats as follows 150 hp + 1.5x per point norm (if skinny undecided on hp penanlty) 125 Stamina + 1.25x per point norm ( fat characters with max weight cap would see a 35% weight reduction bit see extra 25 hp/weight) 125 Oxygen + 1.25x per point norm 170 Weight + 1.7x per point norm Fortitude 2x per Point norm Movement speed 135% (if char was skinny 155%) Swim speed 150% [+10% stam drain] Melee +137% damage -5.5 attack speed. Bows +10% draw speed. Guns + 20% reload On second thought I dont think small characters should be penalized just buff bigger but open to opinions

It should be "let's go find and hunt some undead ships" no
Maxi posted a topic in General Discussion
Let's run away from all undead ships and try to lose as few shits as possible today. It should be a rare encounter people are willing to take on for the loot. Having a ton of undead ships literally spawn everywhere is just an annoyance at this point making the experience horrible for the game. -
Right now, the fact that someone can just spend a single idle hour to claim your base and easily open up the doors is a travesty. Claiming land with complete structures on it should take around 10 times as long. Maybe not just foundations because this would encourage Foundation spam, but Maybe if there is a certain object somewhere or at least 10 building parts then it changes the claim time from 1 hour to 10 hours. The territory system is good so far but this one issue is unbalanced. You want to minimize the appeal and ease of offline raiding or that's all this game is going to be.

Right now animals are clipping through walls and damaging beds and storage and other things such as looms and smithies. Animals should just not damage any of this stuff. There's literally no reason for that future to be in the game.

Unless you live in North Korea does the government not own your land, they only have political power over it. Maybe could separating personal and political ownership solve the current land claim issues. Everyone get's one personal ownership claim(maybe smaller then the current claims). This can't be contested on PVE and takes a LONG time to contest on PVP unless you destroy all enemy buildings. Big companies can claim political ownership, this does NOT give personal ownership nor the right to build. It only gives the ability to set taxation and laws. On PVE servers could you even have democratic political ownership: each X time is political leader elected by inhabitants of an island. Some mechanism should reward big companies with many inhabitants who are NOT company members(or allies).

Little feedback from 30hours gameplay 1. Down scale AI spawn rate there is too many animals/hostile animals running around 2. Down scale Ship of the damned spawn, it's not cool that there is 4-7 per grid, make it more like 1-3 in just one Specific grid and other grids 0 spawn chance. 3. When leveling over +10, should give 3 skill points. 4. Find a way to auto restart servers when they crash. 5. Give us option to change home server in main menu so we don't stay stuck in full servers.

Lets face it, once you have a bed down, death becomes a easy way to refill food and water and vitamins. Death shouldnt ever be a desirable mechanic. It doesnt necessarily have to be super harsh, but you should never want to use it for easy transport or easy food/water. (Making cooking kinda pointless)

Griefing should be limited in a way. People take over your claim when you are not online. After having worked with 10 people an entire day/night to build a solid base and a solid boat. We work in shifts wich means we only had 4 hours downtime in those 4 hours down time some guys where able to take over our house take over our boat without having to go trough a proper fight. Thats kinda lame and makes the game in my eyes unplayable.

It takes forever to regen my tames' health with Nature's Touch as it is currently. I assume this is due to it being a fixed hp regen number... If nature's touch were instead a %-based feat... such as: 1%/sec regen for base Nature's Touch 2%/sec for Improved Nature's Touch 3%/sec for Advanced Nature's Touch? This would scale more fluidly based on the animal's max hp pool and not be borderline useless for higher level tames with a high max health. I mean hell, the bleed from a tiger is %-based... fire arrows are %-based... why isn't healing? Speaking of healing... why do medkits spoil if they can be repaired? Do one or the other... not both... the hoarder in me hates spoil timers in general, especially when its healing items... either that or let us stack them and put them in larders to prolong the spoil timer at MINIMUM...

everyone should spawn on there own designated raft in the random ocean in whatever sector they chose. everyone can start sailing to an island to start grinding. maybe put a whole bunch of drift wood floating so people can upgrade raft while trying to find island if they didn't spawn close to one. people could craft spears out of drift wood to fish while trying to find islands, or maybe swim down and pick up some of those clams or plant matter that are everywhere in the sand to try and survive till you get to a island. also maybe add rain for weather so you can kill one of the millions of turtles and maybe craft a water catcher out of the shell so you don't die of thirst while trying to find island. I just feel like for a pirate game, I don't feel like a pirate when I am constantly on the starter island grinding trying to get off it. also I feel If maybe everyone spawned randomly in the middle of the ocean in the sectors of their choosing it would help with ping issues instead of having people immediately clustered on the island

Knight armor should be replaced with conquistador armor or a heavy leather pirate coat with no plate armor in the game at all, this is afterall a pirate game and at the very least conquistador armor was used during the early start of gunpowder. now what would be cool is if that conquistador armor came with some cloth that covers your face that your character can pull up or down, and the plate armor of the conquistador armor shouldnt give you 100% protection to your arms and legs since its not full plate armor but just a curraise , vambraces, and greaves with a helmet that doesnt protect the wearers face but can nullify arrows that glance off it. below I have 3 random pictures just by a quick google search to give an idea of what I mean.

My company has an entire island filled with flags, saying their coordinates when they are being taken isn't helpful at all. It should be indicated on the map which flag is being claimed.

Currently you need 3 fires just to stave off freezing to death. You should only need 1.

The system would allow for a select few per cluster ie NA PVE to have dedicated Game Managers elected by the community with an abuse report system added to the existing Support ticket system. It would NOT be a bunch of randoms but very similar to what we have on the forums already, where we have volunteers that're hand selected. The difference here is the community would vote, Grapeshot would have the final say. There'd be an Abuse report system for them, each cluster ie NA PVE would have maybe 5 in total, with limited powers meaning they couldn't wipe a company out or spawn in 1000 cannons. It has worked on the forums, it has worked with other games - when it is tightly controlled. It totally fails when it's an automated free for all, so I'm not proposing that. The idea is that while we're in EA for 3 years, we have the support we never got in Ark while allowing the company to keep its profit as it sees fit (they don't like hiring a lot of people for support tickets in EA, 100% understandable). Atlas is not Ark, Atlas can show you can have a well supported game even in EA while still staying profitable but also fair. And again, a report system so if there were ever any abuse, they would never see these tickets but the properly hired GM's would. It works in industry across the world, it can work here if implemented properly. Great Idea or Bad Idea or I like turtles
