  1. I'm confused..Thanos only killed half the populations.. these guys intend to kill everything. Then bring it back to life, so it can die again and again...
  2. You could say no to offers of help. As for solo players.. go rent your own server and leave multiplayer to the team players..? If I leave a server for whatever reason and goto a new server, getting a helping hand is something I'm grateful for. It probably won't be something I would ask for, but if it's offered, I rarely say no, as I'd like to get back to the position I was in prior to leaving the last server asap. Wether I'm playing alone, with some few people or running a huge tribe of a dozen or dozens of people. I can find myself in any situation in online games and I'm happy to accept whatever help people are willing to offer me. If you're so unwilling to even accept a helping hand.. why are you even playing in a multiplayer game? You clearly don't like either playing in a team or socialising.
  3. Yeh their ETA's could do with a pinch of salt and a hint of honesty.
  4. Didn't know you got exp from placing flags lol.. thought you had to explore each island to raise cap and kill stuff. And build stuff, although making stuff didn't seem to have that much exp attached to it, not like in ark at least.
  5. Always thought the winning of any mmorpg was to complete every quest and mission, kill every boss.. Naked. With a spoon. The size of my anything, doesn't mean alot to me. Since it's well known that British Inches are bigger than either American or European Inches.
  6. Don't you mean Instant Entitlement and Self...
  7. It's raining, hailstoning & snowing right now outside my house.. and very very windy. When's the PTR coming, I'm cold and lonely.. and very very bored.
  8. Their intentions may have been revised, that is not contradiction, but updating of information. If the owner doesn't speak your language.. that's life.. there are many reasons why someone might be antisocial.. it could be natural xenophobia.. they might actually be afraid of other cultures.. could be a superiority complex or narcissim or a need to just be an arse. This will happen from time to time in many online games, you just deal with those situations as you see fit, either try to commuicate or leave and let someone else try to deal with them.
  9. Paint them after the 12 hour time period is over and noone can demo them. If the settlement owner is responsible, they'll likely talk to everyone on the island, work out a mini alliance for everyone to be in, get everyone to build in their own areas, if someone, there's usually at least one player/company who starts spamming, they'll deal with that individual. If that's your idea of playing on a pve server.. maybe you should goto the pvp servers instead. Pve is for social people, no spam allowed. Or random builds.. or you just get in everyones way. Mp games are to play together, not for a bunch of single players trying to play their own single player game.
  10. Just had a look at the Dynamic Atlas Maps for the first time, I never really thought much about the old flag spam that was on the Eu Pve server, probably because looking at those maps, I can see there's very little spam at all. Then I looked at the pvp servers, zones are almost completely spammed out with claim flags.. both pvp servers are the same, the NA pve server has a couple of bad zones for spam, but otherwise looks ok. No wonder they're removing the flag spam, imagine how less laggy the game will be with all those extra objects removed. Also makes me wonder, how much time people spent just putting claim flags in the middle of the ocean.
  11. Wouldnt be very random if they hit that often.
  12. ptR maybe.. lol. Pts.. Pirates Thinking Syndrome..
  13. Think I'm getting manpts just waiting.
  14. Yeh but also maybe some kind of auto repair, which if it runs from say lockers with resources near your buildings, then even inactive buildings could be around for awhile.
  15. Was a banner when I logged in saying ptr up on 4th, tomorrow.
  16. To be honest, this is my expectation. And having say 4-5 hours left of the 12 hour demo rule, will mean you'll spend the next 4-5 hours of your casual gaming time demo'ing unwanted foundations, which someone could just run around behind you replacing. Eventually you'd need to log out to sleep to goto work the next day and your island would be like this until the griefer left or you did. I had hoped, that the devs would add a command from the pinwheel allowing you to demo all foundations etc in your settlement not placed by you within the last 12 hours, this would remove every single one in the same moment. But alas I suspect the devs don't have the guts to add such a useful command. They could also add a flag to the command to idemnify individuals to be immune from such mass demo'ing of foundations or a flag to allow you to just demo everything from a given player by name or company, as part of the anti griefing measures. They could add via pinwheel the ability to just remove all buildings by "this" player. So with a single click you could demo everything placed by a specific player within your settlement. This would make life much easier for everyone.
  17. Was gonna say that too, just drag em away and trap them maybe?
  18. I expect, that if ownership changes the new owner will not be able to demo any buildings. Except those placed from that moment on as per 12 hour rule. However, any buildings belonging to the original owner, will probably auto demo after the normal maintenance period ends. Depending on autorepair conditions etc.
  19. Close. Joe places a tax bank, then a claim flag. It takes 1-2 hours to claim the island. Joe sets a tax of 10%. Salty lands, builds 2 buildings a living area and a pen. The pen is in an area Joe intended to build in. Due to the 12 hour demo rule, Joe could demo all of Saltys buildings, or could demo only the pen, build in that area himself. Once 12 hours passes, Joes other buildings will be safe. So long as they were all built at the same time. Any further buildings Salty places will be subject to the 12 hour demo rule. Salty logs in, see's his pen has been knocked down, starts to gather wood, stone, metal etc 10% of every hit will goto the tax bank. Salty builds his pen elsewhere, joe doesn't demo it, 12 hours later it is safe. I can't find any reference to how far into the sea the claim area actually goes. Or how far the island is judged to be, I guess we'll find this out in the ptr and after wipe/1.5 Joe and Salty live happily ever after. Joe is also responsible for upkeep of the settlement, which will be a per period (4 weekly maybe) charge required by the game. If Joe is unable to pay the upkeep, his claim flag is either demo'd automatically or maybe can be in turn claimed by another player. I can't find any info on what happens if upkeep isn't paid. I'd assume claiming flags would be similar to the pvp design, if upkeep isn't paid. The interesting question is, if you claim the flag, do you then get the tax bank or would you need to try to place your own tax bank first, then claim the flag... Oh and a Company is something a solo player can create. They don't automatically become a company on character creation. Once a player has created a company, they can invite other players to join it, by running upto them and using the pinwheel as per ark and pre ptr atlas. As same, an invited player accepts using the pinwheel on the inviter/owner.
  20. Imagine Ark with graphics like Star Citizen.. hell I'd buy that for $100.
  21. Yeh, I think if they'd made a test server before adding sotd and actually tested them there before adding them to the live ea, so they wouldn't sink almost every ship on the map, incl those at anchor, bases near shores etc. If they'd reacted faster to exploits, esp the weigh and hammer exploits and if they hadn't turned pve into pvp on wipe announcement, this sort of issue, people might have stayed. But after spending the first few days from release, fighting insane lag in freeports, for hours on end, to finally get out and settle, to then be exploited for 2-3 weeks, to then have ai ships wipe me out, then getting exploited some more for several more weeks, I eventually got the real message grapeshot was selling.. give me your money, then piss off. So I did. Then they decided to wipe because of the very reasons I left.. so now maybe I'll come back. We'll see how it goes then..
  22. Turpentine on your waffles.. do you work near fire? That'd be a laugh.. no seriously.. no you're right that'd be burny.. From what I've gathered in life, you don't shoot the messenger or the sheriff, but the deputy is ok.
  23. I'll be looking to do both probably. If I own land, it'll be with the company, tax will probably be around 20-30% to help pay upkeep, but we are a grindy company so upkeep won't be an issue, unless it requires unique resources. I like building high structures, currently atlas seems to support up to a max ceiling of 100 units or so. Although we got past that using platforms.
  24. I'm sure in one of the logs they mentioned that free pillers etc will have a low durability, so will probably demo themselves maybe after a few hours to a couple of days, so one would need to patrol piller spams daily or lose them. Hopefully. Otherwise maybe we can get them to set this up as pre built piller and foundation spam will be a real issue initially and later on when bored owners do leave.
