  1. Slow compared to what? A ship with 6x the amount of sails or just slow in general? A schooner with a large speed sail.. is actually very fast.. and very unmanouverable. Unless you like taking 15 mile turns. You can solve the latter by reducing sail.
  2. It is a pretty insane and lazy approach to patching a game file. Esp for those of us who don't have 4 terabyte hdds.. Even tho the downloaded file is only 5.1gb.. the game needed 126gb to reinstall. It then deleted the older file. So you would have around 115gb original file, plus the 126gb space to reinstall the game.. once it downloaded the 5.1gb.. it takes an hour to reinstall and deletes old file, leaving you with 119 gb file on hdd. If you don't have that extra 126gb of space.. it won't patch.
  3. If I sail to a freeport, I get the discovery and if i then teleport to each island I get a discovery for each. If I die and respawn at a freeport, I don't get the discovery, if I die again and respawn, I still don't get it. Is this wai or bugged?
  4. Can't reassign orders, change behaviours or even get it to follow. It just stands there staring off into space. On relogging I discovered the crewman was in fact standing in midair about 8 tiles up above me. Once I got up to the same height I was able to interact. This happens everytime I dismount/unseat crewman from puckles/swivels etc. I have to relog each time to see where they actually are to interact.
  5. I remember when taming a bird, was fairly simple.. hit it, run to cage, trap it.. now it flies in circles.. around you. I remember when taming an elephant was simple, knock it down.. when it escaped it attacked you.. now it runs away.. I remember when sotd didn't give up after 30 seconds.. forcing you to continually turn around and re initialise the fight. I remember when making stuff, anything, everything was fun and varied.. now it's all worthless and boring. I remember when fire arrows could kill.. or blunderbuss.. or flintlocks.. now.. you need to be so close, you might as well carry a sword. I remember when a hydra or cyclops was fun.. now it's lucky to find one that isn't being farmed by someone who has no real interest in the game.. they're just farming stuff, selling it, farming stuff, selling it.. and you can't advance.. unless you leech.. etc etc etc etc etc.. I remember when you could actually meet another player.. now you're lucky if someone else in your company logs in, let alone see someone in chat. I remember the sleepers at the freeports.. now we vanish when we log, so the obvious truth can't be seen. I remember when people played this game. Now it's just me and you and him and her.. and about 2-300 others. 40000 down to 350.. 700 at weekends. And still every patch is a mega nerf.. to content that's only accessible by mega tribes, that don't even play anymore. I remember, when atlas was fun.
  6. No idea what it's use is in pvp.. it's horrendous enough in pve. I suppose you use it as a sort of submersive troop transport. And it barely fulfills that role. For the passengers it's a very glitchy ride. It's like you mount some invisible seat on the side of the animal. You can't see much as your visual radius is partly inside the shell partly out of it. The animal is almost incapable of harvesting anything. It's bite box is tiny, ant size.. it's like trying to gather from a pixel. On land this is quite easy.. in water nearly impossible. It kills on land seemingly by crushing it's body down onto the victim.. in water you're lucky to get 1 hit per pass. If you were to set a line A B C.. in the water you click at A and it bites at C.. that's how slow it is to react to your mouseclick. Overall.. 1/10.. horrendous and almost completely useless tame.
  7. Not despawn.. but will be in the water somewhere.. try retracing your sailing route from where you last remember seeing them. In future, break the locker from the cargo harness when sailing and remake it when back on land.
  8. In pve, in my company, only I can use mortars I place.. is this the case for everyone or in pvp? It's really annoying having to make mortars for everyone.. to place themselves. Why can't they be like cannons.. or swivels..
  9. I get this intermittently. But with no report. I get a straight ctd or after zoning, if I try to enter inventory, I get a ctd. If I wait 2-3mins.. everything is fine. I guess my pc is taking a little bit longer to finish loading something.. But the ctd is rare, maybe 1-2 times per week.
  10. By "I" I mean "We".. ok I don't... but can I get this option please.. I don't want or need a single player game nor do I need any part of it installed.
  11. Same problem.. can't update because not enough space left on my hd lol. 126gb required.. 35gb available.. Let me think now.. buy new hdd for a buggy broken game... or delete atlas and move on.. For that..is the question. Edit: Removed wedding photos and Black Ops4.. Imagine a world.. where you have to buy an hdd for every game...that's today.. I assume it's downloading the entire atlas game all over again not adding another 126gb to the current file.. really wish grapecard would learn how patches are supposed to work..

    *Solved*

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1784197833 Wait.. toggle craftables.. Not a bug.. Solved.. I'm the bug
  14. Yep, he wants an easier game for himself and a harder game for everyone else. He wants faster sailing speed so he can attack weaker players.. whilst also speccing his ship in such a way as to maximise it.
  15. The proper experience.. so we'll be able to sail around 150 regions.. It'll be a mega nerfed version, where you can cheat in whatever you want.. and it'll mostly be used to test out builds and ideas.. just like it was in ark. Oh and 2-3 people will actually play in singleplayer.. the game is afterall a multiplayer game. Remember.. the upto 40,000 players online...slogan? Not a single player..well.. there's 300 of us now. 300 single players..
  16. But. If you increase default minimum speed.. don't you also increase default maximum? It's your choice to have all those extra cannons and cballs etc..it's your choice how you spec your ship levels. Incidentally, I spec my haulers exactly the same as my combat ships. 225% resist 125% stubborness 2-4 pts in accomodation. Maybe 1 extra crew.. just for the round number. 0 in weight.. 300 weight per pt.. hahaha!! no chance am I wasting a pt on that.
  17. Canoe? Kayak? Rafloop... I'd like to see more varients of ship designs.. but I'd also like to see ships nerfed.. so they can't even put cannons anywhere.. without gun ports. Thus removing chasers and kiting from the game. At least in the way it is currently used.
  18. You can in pve. You haven't posted this under pvp forum nor have you specific stated that it is in reference only to pvp in the census. I can sail at 18.5 knots.. in pve. Why you can't in pvp I have no idea..perhaps this should instead be your complaint. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1783680151 Scrn shows 18.11 but I actually got to 18.67 at one point. Which is closer to 19, than to 18.. and I'm only usng 5 basic spd sails and 1 basic handling sail..
  19. I totally get what you're saying. But this is a condition of life.. and the worst/funny part of it, is if you turn the tables against yourself.. you won't be laughing. ie If you were the dev and people treated you, like you think you have the right to treat them. You'd be looking for revenge.. or nerfing them.. or something.. punching the wall.. A game is designed to be entertaining. Now you can play 500 hours playing a game the way it was meant to be played, the way it was designed and if you find exploits you report them, move on, work around them. But you don't use them, because you know they aren't intended. Just because a patch breaks the game, doesn't mean the new loophole added is not cheating. A dev making a mistake in decision making does not give you the right to exploit that mistake. Because it always comes back to how the game is intended to be played. Or.. you can cheat.. or mod the game, change the basic idea of how it was meant to be played.. you aren't playing atlas anymore, you're playing cheatlas..where anything goes. Aimbots.. macros.. alts.. twinking.. ddosing etc.. it's all the same ultimately. Gamma is there you assist you in playing the game in the way it is intended to be played. It is not there to allow you to see in the dark. Why even have day/night cycle, if people are just going to turn up their brightness? It's completely pointless coding it or designing around it. Therefore, it's been added with purpose and it isn't supposed to be circumvented by using a menu option not given for that purpose to which cheaters are utilising it. If you are having problems seeing in the dark.. make a torch or a lantern. Turning up gamma, brightness, contrast or typing a gamma command into the console.. is not playing the game as it is clearly intended. It's like arguing that if you find $100 on the pavement, finders keepers.. no, actually, that's called stealing. You know the truth.. all you need to do is admit to it. And not do bad things. If you can't be honest with yourself.. how on earth do you expect others to believe you're being honest with them. It underpins everything we do and say, if you think cheating is ok.. it means you're essentially a dishonest person and people when they find out, will shun you. Unless they're like you.. maybe they'll ignore your dishonesty. I have no idea.. I don't treat those people with anything less than they deserve.
  20. I don't care if you cheat. You're only ultimately cheating yourself, by cheating. I only use gamma, ie to cheat, when absolutely necessary, ie if i'm stuck in a cave or underwater in a wreck or some similar game breaking reason. You cheat, all the time, when it gets dark, because you won't make a torch or a lantern.. Bit of a difference. But as I said.. I find it funny that you actually believe you aren't cheating. That's really the end all of this conversation. Trying to dress up your argument and reasoning, doesn't escape the fact.. that you are. Ps If the rules stated every single thing you could or couldn't do.. you'd spend more time reading them than you ever did cheating in atlas.
  21. 1st or 3rd.. Stand at rear of sheep. Crouch. Deploy scissors and shear by holding mouse btn down or controller key btn whatever it is. You'll see bits of hair effect from sheep and the change onscreen of the hairless sheep.. from shaggy sheep. There are several bugs with sheep atm, most especially collision issues near them. Which make shearing particularly annoying. Alternatively.. kill the sheep and use axe to shear it.
  22. It isn't really a major qol change at all. Only berries.. which if you have alot of crew.. really don't last that long.. unless you have millions of them. The gold thing is pretty useful, esp as it makes transferring crew abit easier, no more stupid ai stopping and treading water because they just jumped off the ship and can't find their gold source anymore. We're still keeping gold in ship chests and food in larders, both in ships and in defensive positions. With the singular issue of crew transfer between ships etc it has no real impact.
  23. If anything they'll just nerf everything to the point where noone is playing, then they'll blame new releases etc for their own failure to see what everyone else see's as obvious. But that doesn't mean sailing speed needs to be increased. 19 knots is plenty for me. What I want is an auto pilot.. that reads a plotted course between map markers. Then I can sit and use my fishing net.
  24. Yeh must admit I don't bother with breeding, other than maybe 1-2 I don't see the point in it. The elusive cross breed aside, with the perfect stats, it isn't like you can breed animals for selling or even for fellow company members who don't feed them from birth.. thus don't get the imprint bonus. Pointless really otherwise. Too many limitations in ark/atlas etc.. all the feeding to 10% imprinting, specific foods, can't put lockers on cargo on a tame you didn't tame, even if you're admin in the company.. just getting to be too much. It's feels like a maze where there is no exit and no reward sometimes.
