  1. We still need confirmation of how ship decay works on PvE @Jatheish @Dollie We so far have the players guessing (we shouldn't have to guess) that the following things are required, yet all contradict one another. Decay is 7 days Decay is 21 days Stepping foot (boarding) on ships or fast travel to ships refresh timers Stepping on ships and simply raising and lowering anchor is enough Stepping on ships, raising anchor, slightly moving ship, reanchoring refreshes timers. Ships have been inactive for longer than 3 weeks with no issues So we need to know once and for all, only the developers know how this works, what exactly refreshes ships decay timers, and how long is the decay timer? Either that or simply place the decay timer on screen when you look at the ship just like structures. This is simple basic things that should not require repeated requests. People shouldn't have to guess at this and learn from losing ships.
  2. @Jatheish @Dollie Can we please get confirmation of this? What exactly do we need to do to refresh timers of ships every 21 days? Do we need to board them? Do we need to unachor them? These are the sorts of things that people need to know and should not be left to guess and find out. I'm under the impression it is simply boarding them, but others claim it is unanchoring them. We need this clarified once and for all.
  3. There's a big difference there. People on PC have had the choice to buy the game and play from day one, or at least from day 1 of the first wipe. If PC players chose to join the game at a later stage and therefore join the official servers when people have all built up, then that was their choice and they have to accept that. For console players they have had no choice to be able to play. I don't consider buying a PC as a choice either. So yes, there's a big difference when you compare new players joining from console than new players joining on PC.
  4. You lost your bet before you even posted it.
  5. I'm afraid you don't talk clear. What exactly are you saying? All you need to do is listen to everyone in this topic that states there is no news of a wipe, whatever you have heard is rumour, simple as that.
  6. I voted that I don't. Simple reason why..... we need the Devs working on more important stuff. In fact forget about console and pay attention to the platform that it is already out on. Leave console until release because we don't need yet another EA that gets split between bug fixing on two or three platforms. I also say no to crossplay because look at ARK, when do PC/Xbox/PlayStation/Windows10 ghet the updates simultaneously? Hell Xbox and Windows 10 don't even get them simultaneously a lot of the time. So instead of creating themselves hassle with crossplay, just forget about it and focus on more important things.
  7. He's talking about rumours of it happening SOON. Not shouting there btw. Console release is not coming soon. I've not seen any rumours myself.
  8. The communication is good, but unfortunately as you mentioned most, if not all, of that activity was in relation to the all new shiney Blackwood. Because it's new and hot meat! Posts about the old "boring" map, i.e. the official servers get layers of dust. My post here about yet again, decay timers. The actual important things regarding people losing stuff doesn't get things addressed in a timely manner. Why are things suddenly changing to show 2.5 days decay timer, why are things suddenly auto-decaying after taking 2 days break from the game. Where's the timely responses to that?
  9. RTFM? What manual? Where does it officially say how long decay timers are for ships? Where does it officially say how to refresh timers for ships? Why have people lost ships suddenly when not used in under 10 days? Where is this manual that has all the official answers to what is raised in this topic? The patch notes have said 21 days for ships, but we all know that is incorrect, whether intentional or not. So where is this manual that clearly states exactly what decay timers are and exactly how to refresh them? Because if the patch notes themselves are wrong, then yes the wiki is useless.
  10. Could you keep doing that now too? Because all I see from you here is trolling players.
  11. The wiki is next to useless. @kampfer91 Although you need to step foot on ships once every 21 days, supposedly, there is an unknown bug where ships still disappear after even just a few days. I have my doubts about the 21 days timer tbh. This issue of disappearing ships that go poof after 7 days is likely to be an issue that doesn't get resolved, just like disappearing structure pieces when you demolish something.
  12. Before the wipe they originally were going with the idea of no claims on PvE and with that they were going to have a structure decay mechanic where you would need to fill a structure with the required resources to keep the structures refreshed, kinda like the claim flag we have now and the gold. It seemed like a good idea on paper as you could stock up on resources if you were going on holiday without fear of decay timers. But when they changed their mind and introduced a claim system that idea went out the window too. There's definitely different ways of handling it besides making people play 24/7 365.
  13. Most people that would be eligible for the hat have quit anyway. Not actually many to issue the hat to.
  14. Decay timers are dodgy pretty much. The devs never clarify what is required refresh certain timers, such as ships. I was offline for just over 2 days then find my training dummy auto-decayed and find out that training dummies now have 2:12:00:00 so not even 3 days decay timer. That changed from the normal 10 days in a recent ninja patch. They either keep messing with decay timers because of spam issues, or they keep breaking decay timers.
  15. They've already said before that they aren't working currently on new ships as they would add heavy loads to server performance. New ships may come in the future, but right now I don't think it's being worked on.
  16. Its basic function is to create ice in cold climates. You can also activate the icebox when it has ice in it so allow it to cool the surrounding area, particularly if you are breeding tames in a hot climate. That's what the icebox does.
  17. I disagree. We are EVERYTHING to GS, because without us (players in general )there would be no players. Unless of course you are using the "you people" as a personal attack towards specific individuals, which as you mentioned yourself, means you should be outright perma banned for disrespect.
  18. Nice attempt at belittling my post little child. I went on to the review section, clicked on today for negative reviews (which was yesterday), there was only one and that was it. I didn't spend time searching for a specific review, and my point was to show an example of a negative review, so why would I pick a positive review? I'm sorry that you are incapable of understanding the point, so you make a fool of yourself by assuming and belittling. My point was to show how such reviews hurt the game, so there was nothing wrong with my example was there because it does hurt the game. You are acting as if my point was to say how crap this game is and just pick up crap reviews about it. Again, nice try troll.
  19. You can also take a break without fear of ridiculous decay timers too. I've thought about going over to single player, but may be too late as my interest has plummeted.
  20. I don't pay attention to them either, it was only because I checked my company log as I always do when I first log on. But now there's so many different timers for everything: structures - 10 days single/double structures - 12 hours training dummies - 2 days 12 hours ships - 21 days (supposedly) tames - 8 days certain structures like resource box, storage box etc - 40 days It is so stupid to have so many varying decay timers.
  21. Well it says 2 days 12 hours on my dummy. I had 2 dummies, one outside my base free-standing on the ground, and one inside my base standing on foundation. The one outside my base autodecayed after I hadn't played for upto 2.5 days, and the one inside my base is fine. I can only assume they have fast decay because immature people spam stuff, but this was never the case with dummies before. So a ninja change happened. It's stuff like this that makes me lose complete interest in the game because you take 1 day off from playing and who knows what has disappeared in the game.
  22. Well currently i'm only logging in to reset timers and feed etc because i'm waiting to see what comes with Update 3, plus that my free time has been short recently. But take 2.5 days away from the game and stuff starts auto-decaying. It's the crappiest system i've seen in a game before.
  23. After finding decay timers getting reduced even further for stuff i'm getting close to pulling the plug. Training dummies now have 2 days 12 hours decay timer, lost one already because of it. Not much of a big deal for training dummies, but the constant reduction in decay timers just because spam can't be solved is getting ridiculous. If I wanted to play a 24/7 365 game then i'd be happy, but nerf decay timers is getting stupid. Even ARK wasn't this bad with decay timers.
  24. I'm getting to the point of being completely fed-up of the expectation to play 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year because that's what it feels like with this game. I constantly ask for timers to be boosted to 15 days to cover holidays, but what do I find, things get nerfed even more, whether intentional or by bug. I decided, shock horror, to take a nice 3 day break from the game. It wasn't event quite 3 days was about 2.5 days. I log on to find my captain's log state that my 1 of 2 Training Dummies had auto decayed. I thought it was odd because I have 2 of them, one outside the based free-standing on the ground, and one inside the based standing on foundation. The one outside free-standing on the ground is the one that autodecayed. I guessed some new ninja change/bug treats it as a potential spam issue and now decays every 12 hours. So I went to my other training dummy in my base to find it says 2 days 12 hours decay. Don't get me wrong, i'm not annoyed about a simple training dummy, but I am beyond fed up with the increasingly short timers on everything in this game simply because managing spam in the game is impossible to solve. @Jatheish @Dollie @JakeM
  25. It's also reviews like this that hurt the game: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198015192553/recommended/834910/ For those that can't see it for any reason, not sure if you need a Steam account, but basically this is what it says: Negative Review "Horrible game." 0.0 hrs last two weeks 0.3 hrs on record Review left on 27th July 2019 So what we have here, is someone that has played ATLAS for a total of around 18 minutes. 18 minutes is not long enough for a game of this type. The player has also not played in the last two weeks at all, yet left the negative review today, 27th July. Now you may say that anyone with an ounce of a brain would look at that review and take zero notice of it because of the length of time played, the quality of the comment, and the fact they haven't played for at least two weeks yet still decided to post a neg review today. But, this is where the issue is, because people won't spend the time skimming through all the reviews and reading all the comments. Most people will look at the % and make a decision. So reviews like this hold more power because of that. These types of reviews are very common unfortunately.
