Anyone else feeling like the proposed gold costs to build ships after the wipe is a bit excessive?

Lost Haven 9x9 Map/Boosted is the name of the server. We are a friendly community welcoming new and old players. It's a 9x9 map, 81 grids total. Grids A thru F (54) are PVE and grids G thru I (27) are PVP. Very boosted harvesting rates and taming/breeding. Mods currently running are: Beastmaster, Ecos Decor Cont., Figuireheads & Ship Essentials, Custom Item Stacks (lowers weight of resources as well). I'm hosting all of the servers on a private server racks located in my house so no fear the server will be shut down for not keeping up with a rental. Ping is very low and I don't believe in wipes. We have gobal chat across all of the servers, just need to use the "Global" tab. It links to our discord channel as well. Shoot me a message on discord if you have any questions: Diamond#3366

Unplayable for small Tribe We are a small team (7 players) and we can't play because we can't challenge the islands all occupied by the big teams. Isn't it possible to create small islands only for companies with less than 10 players? They could be raided by all companies but not occupied by teams above 10 players. Or we could create flags for small tribes to be placed in low less that would allow us to protect a small defined area. In low less we can't leave our boats, otherwise we will see them sinking while we are not playing. And staying in freeport is no fun for us or others. Reducing the number of players per team and the number of possible alliances could also be interesting. There would probably be more wars instead of big full-player alliances. My English is bad, so I apologize for that bad translator....

5,000 gold for a schooner. It takes quite a bit of effort to earn 5k gold with nothing but a sloop. Maybe if markets were working properly it wouldn't be so bad for the 20% of the companies who actually managed to get a warehouse down, but the market is broken right now. Sure it works sometimes, but mostly not. Maybe due to the lag that the markets are likely causing. who knows? A simple solution to the problem is to remove the gold cost entirely. What's the point of it anyway? Where does that gold even go? I'm the one building the ship. I had to learn the skills and collect the materials and build it myself. So where is the gold going? If you don't want to completely remove the gold cost (idk why you implemented it in the first place), at least lower it by some insane amount. 500g for a regular schooner and 5k for a mythic schooner. 5k gold for an ordinary junk schooner I'm building myself makes no sense whatsoever. Can anyone help me understand why this was ever put into the game? I don't understand.

what is so unclear about the last official post about 2020 ofc they wipe soon and i want it because the claiming system is trash, but propably the new system will be trash again like the trading route that makes no gold and no trades pop up and markets loading endless they should wipe before 24th tho, because you know, if you build up in your holiday and then new year everything is gone it would be another fu to the community

Yeah, I'm not quite sure how this trade thing works but we have an island and one of my tribemates took down whatever does the trading and ping went down drastically. So much that everyone in server commented over chat that the lag disappeared. I'll talk more with said tribemate and make a more clear post on what he did exactly. If anyone has a trading market thing, take it down and test it out. What's there to lose at this point, can't play anyway with the lag away. Other peoples input would be appreciated on experimenting with this trading thing they added. I could post ping with and without trade market as proof.

I am 100% enjoying this change. My crew and I have found ourselves working together much more. Once we have a schooner or brig it’s going to be awesome to see what the next game plan is for progress

At almost 3k. Butt cheeks all puckered up though, my shipyard is cutting it close on depth. If i drop that 5k schooner in the water and it blows up because my shipyard isn't deep enough I'm gonna be grumpy, lol.

By the time we can get a enough coin 50k galleon the game will wipe don’t waste your time guys still same old lag issues in lawless and treasure bottles still disappear on collection, but wait let’s increase the cost of getting a ship so no one enjoys grinding for months to have progress wiped every couple of months just fix and release the damn game you had enough time from players

You make the game so hard to get anything you’ve ruined the sea experience already putting large gold price on ships the farms are worthless especially making the only island with ironwood claimable on pve I built two farms and they were deleted by owner pls remove the remove option on claimed lands to remove farmhouse I’m so done with this game. There is no way to make gold as most map bottles I pick up disappear I’m back to fifa 21 sos this trash game

It's funny, in this tweet they want people on less landlubber duties and more time out at sea, then they put on ridiculous gold requirements for ships, meaning more landlubber duties. While I agree that something needed to be done about the ship spam, personally I think it is ridiculous that a schooner is 5k gold and a brig is 25k gold. These changes make it almost impossible for a casual player to get a ship, or anyone that doesn't start out right away and get themselves an island. As a player that started late last season (returning after a break from the game), I can tell you that this change will make it next to impossible for a late starting player to get anywhere. The numbers for this game seem to keep dropping, and it is poorly thought out ideas such as this.

paying for a ship that I build in my shipyard from resources I gathered is just ridiculous. It's like paying for my meal that I cooked and ran the errants to get the ingredients. Ship spamming might be a massive issue here and there but trying to turn it off by making you buy your self-made ship is just evidence for the fact that the Devs lost conntrol of what they created (or effed up with numerous brain dead patches). Maybe a ship limit per company either per capita or ship types is more desirable. There's people out there especially on PVE who pretty much don't spam ships and don't feel like grinding for gold to get a better ship just to cruise the atlas. bad decision in my eyes and a major blemish to official servers.

It does not depend on how much gold a ship costs... ...but how much the gold costs... ...in time and effort to get it... The only thing for sure is, that the ships will 'cost' more than before - as said by the devs... Which might become a good thing, as the worthless ship spam might be over... Makes the ships more of an achievement... Unfortunately they still sink as fast as the worthless versions before... And that might become a big issue, now that when your ship gets off-lined or sunk in harbor by a barrel, it is 'just' the resources PLUS the gold... Will you replace your ship, that you cannot protect properly, daily if the gold is harder to get than the fiber to build it? Or will you build even more massive harbor defenses ( = more structures = more lag ) thereby not going sailing... And even then... Barrels...

The base is on a pillar so high up you can't reach it with cannon towers and the puckles kill you before you get footing to throw grenades. After the puckle buff in season 3 and being able to place puckles with npcs in season 4, making invulnerable pillar bases is way to easy. The irony of it all was that the puckle buffs was meant to help the smaller companies, but the result is that the large companies spam their grid out so bad its imposible to fight on and then they turn on the little guy because thats the only place they can get content without the server shutting down on them. I think the devs should man the fuck up and push through the flag height patch they pussied out of a year ago, start working on a claim system that negates fence spam and stop making it so fucking easy to shit buildings and puckles all over the islands.

Suggestion: It would be nice if tickets were actually answered and not automatically marked as "solved".

you're right ! 1 tribe = 1 island, it should be like this. Big tribes keep 2 or 3 island for nothing. Since farmhouse update, it's completly useless to keep them, but they do. Small tribes are forced to play in Law Less, without being able to capitalize or reinforce to take an island, it is a viscious circle. That's make this game completly unplayable and infuriating.

Hello, I run a merchant guild on the official pvp servers on krakens grasp. I just want to say a few things real quick and maybe someone from grapeshot will see this, and hopefully it gives some insight. I do not think that there needs to be much done in the way of hurting pillar bases on high elevations, already I know a lot of people don't like me for that, however this is why I say that. There is still absolutely nothing stopping them from leaving their ships and beginning a land assault, it is a perfectly viable and definitely functional strategy to build forward operating bases and blast your way up the mountain you are attacking with artillery, yes it's time consuming, yes it's a little expensive depending on how big your faction is, but it is perfectly doable and it's able to be done in roughly 6 hours playtime. The only reason I believe people are complaining about pillar bases is because a single person can't run over and wipe out a tribe of 100 plus people and all their progress they have spent months working towards in a matter of minutes. And I do not think that game play style should be promoted. If this game is turned into a game where a solo player can spend 2 hours and wipe out a base that is the product of months of hard work from many people, then the remaining player base will likely die off even more. It's no secret that compared to release this game has already lost tons of it's players due to that exact playstyle as many uneducated players fall victim to it. Now I will say if a group knows exactly what they are doing on base defense and if they are actually online and defending it then yes those bases are extremely hard to take, and I feel that's how it should be, nothing's impossible. A handful of grenades can in the blink of an eye lay waste to months of work and cripple a base, dozens of people rushing a base can make the defenses spend tons of ammo until they are deleted, a few tortugars can shrug off an entire base Worth's of defense long enough to get a bunch of people into a vulnerable position to take the base. I believe people need to use their brains more, and stop asking everything to be handed to them just so they can focus entirely on ruining the game for others, because all the people complaining are only focused on just that. They don't care about the thrill of pvp, if they did you'd see people building fighting arenas and duking it out, you'd see people having friendly battles to see who's the better sailor, but none of that happens, and players very very rarely even attack when someone is defending. All they want is the ability to completely wipe a base while the tribe is offline and defenseless

I see it being discussed all over. I also made a ticket like I am guessing many others have. But have they made any official statements regarding it that I have missed?
