I feel like I'm missing something here... in Ark, I could place a building down and bring up the wheel menu to demolish it. Here, I can't destroy anything that I place down. I was messing around with pipes, trying to figure out farming, and placed them wrong. I tried everything I could think of, even physically destroying them, but nothing works. Is there a way to destroy/remove your own structures?

Unless im seeing wrong it looks like huge portions of top and bottom of NA PVP are already claimed

I'm a network/system engineer... and I can tell you for a fact, way they developed this was god damn sloppy and copy/paste of Ark. Using the excuse of "its easy" doesn't mean it is the right way... DLC or not, the fact their is a hidden Ark menu and literal 90% or more copy/paste from Ark, its just wrong. They obviously rushed this out as a cash grab. Delay the game 4 fucking times, you better at least be able to keep the servers online. There is zero excuse for this especially after they knew what to expect from Ark release. They learned all this and knew exactly what to except and yet, one of the worst releases of 2018. This doesn't even mention the lack of communication from their dev team on the issues and their bug fixes or future plans. Supporting this dev team and their actions just makes you part of the fucking problem. Not the solution. Get your head out of their ass and think for yourself. P.S. Just because you can't "download Atlas into Ark", that doesn't prove shit on if it was meant to be a DLC or not. Do you understand programming works? It would takes seconds to remove said options. It doesn't prove anything.

I realized I posted in the wrong sub-forum. But it looks like a large (but not most) amount of NA PVE Grids are offline. Are you basically screwed when this happens? Because it seems you're locked out of both spawning into a new grid location with your character AND locked out of creating a new character. That's a colossal screw-up. Any idea when the assortment of grids offline will go back? Others seem online and running.

Okay so I think I did figure out how to turn off the level cap and stuff in nitrado, there was a settings area on their site when you login. So might be wrong about that. Though still hoping prices for private servers drop.

i think they ment it like that, but its not a comman thing to change the whole serverdata while its running with so many connections and so on But dont quote me on that i could be wrong with all i said

So then I wondered if maybe it was the character data or something - because I didn't actually get in a few times and was wondering if that's what was wrong. So I went to. STEAM\SteamApps\common\ATLAS\ShooterGame\Saved\LocalProfiles And deleted the profiles. Don't worry, the actual character data isn't stored on your machine (because of cheating) this is just a cache type of thing. Fixed the fatal error when trying to join a server.

Same here. It would most likely give me a performance boost. I could be wrong but I have real bad frames and want to disable these.

Exactly, glad to get in the game finally but don't think this character will ever be of any user. You can't claim land in a lawless area. Every time I log out, no matter where I try I come back dead and have lost all my stuff. Since I can't claim land I can't build myself any shelter for while logged off. You can grind up to the ability to build a shipyard and a raft but then I need to play a long enough single sessions to get all materials to build the shipyard and the raft and all the supplies I need for a voyage and sail somewhere. Am I doing something wrong other then starting in a lawless area? Am I missing how you are supposed to survive logging off in these areas?

ah okay sorry then...im german , probably got the words wrong... and im not even that frustrated but the things u said triggerd me a little:D i just hope there will be more servers soon...i actually expected more than 2 servers for each region ...in our discord we already have people who are buying servers to enjoy the game that shouldnt be the soloution ..again sry for being rude

You are wrong 1- patience didnt make ark great, by the way it made ark even more terrible with broken mechanics added every fucking year. 2-this is not a fucking new game so no excuses for this garbage game we are seeing now... its the same game than ark, same textures, same foliage EVERYTHING SAME, so there is no fucking reason for that shitty game being so shit. 3- This game is fucked up, since I saw its an ark on a pirate skin I knew. Dont wait too much on it.. you should expect a game worst than ark, as this devs couldn't keep ark and sold it for a bigger company, they will probably do it with atlas as well Thank u devs, u are shit!

Ok so I know whats wrong. Its the starting area! Once I was in different zone the game started to run normally no more lag raft going as needed

I think you posted in the wrong general discussion my friend. But to answer your question I haven't gotten far. I was on long enough to see the graphics, which are nice of course. I had to spawn in a lawless zone to get in so there wasn't much to do or see other than the beach and other castaways exploring. I spent the time seeing what was similar to Ark and what was different in terms of mechanics. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the dedicated server files so I can get one fired up and get my friends on. Lots of rubberbanding while I was on.

No it's not primitive + and not even Ark itself. They said already they took what was good in Ark so that is nothing new that we have Ark stuff in it. What you are talking about is Survival Plus mod who add vitamins, minerals and such. Hopefuly they will use what was good and add more, the map itself is much bigger, 1200 times bigger than the Islands. What is wrong to take the good parts of a good game and add more? Nothing. 30$ isn't much when you get poor Farcry at 70$.

so the versions are client/server side separate so don't have to match i might be wrong though.

They should have just delayed the game until sometime in the new years. This is just the wrong time to rush things because of Christmas being in a couple days as well, no one will want to come into work to fix the game.

Didn't it take them a extra year to make the last Ark DLC after it was delayed? lol I personally don't believe they will ever get better. And I fully expect major roll backs on servers, Ya know - once it works lol. Don't get me wrong, I've got more then my monies worth out of Ark. I'm sure I will here. When it works!

guys, guys... you're getting sidetracked. it's a "new" game. but you can play ark on atlas. as in you can start up an ark map on atlas and play ark. There's nothing wrong with using same mechanics or anything else. It's along the lines of if you're going to say it's a new game, why can we play the "old" game still when it's not called "Ark" lol

Well, I definitely think there are better ways to handle PR compared to what they have done so far. There is nothing wrong with expressing opinions.

Sure absolutely right xD Seems to be normal today to make marketing for a game praying "we are god... we can handle 40k+ gamers"... then launch lately and on top too dumb to handle 400 gamers instead of 4k or 40k and the solution? yeah, please pay for the game, and then just wait after buying it a couple of days before you can play it.... Wrong World? Or just as intelligent as Trump to vindicate such startups of... how can you describe this release... a bunch of admins working like apes with advanced down syndrom?
