  1. Can you not weigh an enemy sub down with anything? I know it used to work with ships.
  2. Loads of xboxers claim to be able to import pictures onto sails and save them on their xbox, but I have tried every way of doing it and it's never worked. Yeh you can do it on pc. Next time someone want's to be a smart ass and brag they can do it on xbox, ask them to put up a tutorial. And yeh I know paintbrush works, if you want sails to look like a blind chimp painted them.
  3. Petty recriminations and childish insults are not what this forum was made for as far as I know, Also If someone wishes to moan about Atlas on the Atlas forum then that is their business. If you don't like people whining then don't read it. Also I have bought all this companies other games and not one of them has left ea yet, and Dark and Light is over three years old. And if the op is wasting his time moaning, then how much time are you wasting reading it? Yeh I agree if someone gets personal in a post then we have the right to answer back, So I do understand at least part of your retaliation. But trolling? No.
  4. Yeh I agree, 3 factions would be best because it would ensure a constant battle going on, they could colour split the map like in ESO tamriel pvp. Pyrates vs traders vs navy. I am mainly a pve player in most games but if pvp is done right I always join it. Also if they allocated you a faction by numbers then it would always be fair, and they could have a friends notification list so you could be in the same faction when a place becomes available. They could always give you a choice option, but put you in a queue if you opt to choose.
  5. So firstly yeh we all bought into an early access game and the lack of any stability that goes with it. That doesn't mean it will happen again. I certainly will not buy another early access game from this company, and maybe any other for that matter. Cos tbh the get out clause of "we can take your money and do what we want" needs an update, to at least include a time limit for ea games. Until microsoft or steam start to impose a limited ea time then i'm out for any future investments. I still say for what I paid I got my money's worth of hours (pc) not xbox, xbox version was a mug off considering the game differences, the port is so bad I barely played it. But i'd like to have stayed committed to Atlas for the long haul. However with the upcoming "rust" at sea patches I cant see many players committing serious time and effort anymore, me included.
  6. If people didn't buy this game for pve as well as pvp, then this forum and Atlas probably wouldn't exist, due to the severe lack of finances the company would have got. Yeh the devs seem to have forgotten this fact, much to their detriment, but the fact remains. Yeh maybe they are running a business that doesn't need income....then again, maybe not.
  7. I think everything is eventually going prefab, which is gonna make pve completely pointless. Also pvp is still partly pve, ie building etc, so there are still things to do and plan when you're not at war, me personally i'd find it well boring with nothing to do but fight.
  8. Yeh I know, along with pve, BIG MISTAKE. But its not my project it's theirs. If they want to take all the content out of the game and just leave ship battles(YAWN) It's their problemo not mine. If I just want ship battles with prefab boats I'll play naval action, and hopefully skull and bones eventually. I like survival mmo's too and there are plenty around. Atlas is just a small fish in a big sea.
  9. Sorry Peg but Atlas is not a realistic pyrate game at all, torpedos, submarines, pyrates vs pyrates, pyrates building or eventually buying their ships, kraken, dragon, hydra etc. Although to be honest I actually do like the myth side of Atlas cos it reminds me of pyrates of the caribbean. Personally I hope skull and bones is still on the horizon. because it does look pretty darn realistic. I think the charm and appeal for me of Atlas is the fact it's not just a straightforward pyrate battle game and it does include some sailor myth and legend. As for Atlas pve, I think I can safely say that the devs will be phasing it out. Cos there will eventually be very little to do.
  10. Yeh most mmos have company's that are area hogs, as long as they are not griefing I don't really care, but yeh the lag is pretty bad. But as people say this is an issue for the devs to sort out. its all great going on about roadmaps etc, but if people cant log in or play when they do then the roadmap is irrelevant. roadmap = ea pyrate game, buggy.- ea pyrate game more content, no fixes = more buggy. ea pyrate game, even more content, no fixes = broken.....
  11. I don't like the way they are heading here, with prebuilt buildings, and I am sure that ships are heading that way too. When that happens a lot of the player base they had will be gone. Yeh the ship building needs improving but I like being able to put my own design out there. They probably think if people leave atlas they will play ark instead so they wont ever really lose the players. But a lot of people(myself included) don't get into ark. If I just wanted to play a pvp ship battle simulator i'd play naval action. The devs just better hope a decent pyrate game doesn't release soon. Skull and bones is still in developement, as far as I can tell.
  12. Imo rust isn't a game as much as a griefing simulator. People spend hours plotting ways of upsetting other players, I hope I never get that bored with life. But as for regular wipes it looks like it's a done deal. Imo only an ahole needs regular wipes. (pun intended)
  13. If I wanted to play a game where I lose everything regularly, i'd play bingo. If they are going down the rust route in Atlas, and it seems they are, then I suggest they first watch all the rust players youtube videos. I've got socks older than most of the player base, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it as family friendly.

    Piracy

Sounds a bit kinky to me. hmmmmm...
  15. Eso is an rpg, mmo yeh, but still an rpg. As I mentioned. Also the grinding i'm talking about in Eso is for the materials not the bosses, so it is a solo objective not a group one. Just because atlas is a survival game doesn't mean I want to eat every 10 minutes of gameplay. Yeh if you take into account the accelerated ageing then you're probably only eating once a day or less in their messed up game time calculator. But in any case, it makes no difference what I think about it cos as I have pointed out players have been moaning about it since the start and the vits still haven't changed that much. Even though they gave us a farmhouse to gather resources, which people rarely complained about doing anyway. As for dysentry, well that is a stomach infection. Scurvy is a lack of vit c, which as I stated we could eat limes for. But as the games about as realistic as a hollywood smile, it makes no difference anyway.
  16. If people in the game find it easier to let their character die than to bother eating, then it must be a major drag for some. Also it's less about character depth than being an easy way to keep people busy, and not have to add loadsa other game content to do, All grinding in survival and rpg games are just time fillers. I mean I love eso and its full of content, but some of the grinding now is insane.
  17. This is what I don't get, how do you know if they are already spawned, if you can't actually see them? It's like chicken and egg for me, but yeh my xbox version rendering is terrible too, islands etc are a nightmare unless I have the minimap going from the sextant. And the fog on my xbox is really just a screen whiteout, no depth to it.
  18. I don't think it is a render issue for sotd, I personally think you can't see them cos they are not there. And are only visible when they random spawn near you. The thing is though there is no way of knowing for sure, only the devs would know the sotd mechanics for certain. I really can't tell one way or the other.
  19. Well for scurvy you only need to eat limes, that's where the term limey's comes from. But seriously even with survival being key, nobody eats that often in real life, in fact you can actually go weeks with no food. its water you can't do without for long. So yeh I agree it could and should be more realistic. But with the accelerated ageing too, then I guess realism isn't a first priority anyway.
  20. Whats ironic is that whenever players ask the devs to get rid of the vits, we get loadsa backlash from players who say it's a necessary part of the game. Only to find out that they are the ones who let themselves die and don't even bother with the vits bar. When you have a mechanic that bad and the devs still don't change it I have to wonder if they play their own game for more than 10 mins at a time.
  21. If the island owners are going to keep doing this, then you need to find a better island. Or build on lawless.
  22. Like the other person says it depends how long it's been there.
  23. If you use the shovel to dig for a while it will begin to empty your stomach meter quite fast.
  24. I'm sure I had that happen a long time ago while mine was in the shipyard, someone on the forum said to leave one plank off until you are ready to launch which I have done ever since. I'ts never happened again,, whether that is because I leave it unfinished in the shipyard now, I don't know. (I also leave the steering wheel till the last minute now too). It could have been a bug. Also I remember in pve people were able to drop things on the ships in shipyards and destroy them cos of a bug.
