  1. 1. No, because - First you should be activily doing it, so it makes what ever you move around valueable. Play Anno if you want automated trade routes. - Also no one will use it, after the auto-ships will get KOS faster than they get sunked in port while anchored, yarr! (which is still a population breaking problem) - Also SOTD... or do your ships need to be invincible aswell, just because? I count on the second for making this as worthless an idea as the player shops which noone seaks out for fear of getting killed... Especially if players come back to the game and servers get back to 20-50 player average - if your lucky the guys that search for your auto-ship are busy sinking each other... 2A. Yes 2B. What should be sold there, which is already not sold anyway? If there would be a need for it there would be a trade actually happening right now. Trade is not happening, because it is easier to get it yourself. The trade that is happening is between alliance members, don't want to sell my breed bear to the enemy. Also could use the better BP and parts made yourself, as you will loose and replace them frequently anyway. The best trade thing I saw sofar, was people selling maps at a fraction of their worth. So you can buy the one on your way for extra cash and BP... 2C. Organise it yourself... Build a large wall circle (in lawless maybe) and let people make their own agreements as Gentlemen of Fortune... The proplem with this is that land PVP is broken and not a player-skills game, but a character-skills and equipment based game. For this to be fair everyone would need the same skills and equipment... Same goes for naval battle arena... Any unequal opponent match is called a raid and is happening daily... Or are you talking about the PVE servers? Even more reason to get rid of them... 2D. Maybe 3. Oh yes, that is what everyone is waiting for to get back into the game - not... You know what else everyone is still waiting for? The promised Wipe-Hat...
  2. This... It is not like you leave the game because you got wiped once or many times. People leave when they realize that what ever they re-build, it will not be save enough to continue and build up again. Build a huge base and keep lots of defends working, still got wiped by some cannon bear, people leave... Solo or small company build a ship for few days to finally get out to explore 99% of the game the next day, got sunk again while anchored over night, why start a new ship...? And yeah, most of the people came to Atlas, because it should have been less ARK, as in dominance of the tames. But it is not like the tames are the problem, the problem is, that the tames are so overpowered in PVP. PVP is the problem not the tames used in it. It is not the bear that wipes you. It is the cannon cart behind it that out-ranges your defenses, makes them useless, sinks your anchored ships. If your defenses would hold against a lonely cannon bear and a bob, you could come back online to CONTINUE your personal quest. The PVE bobs, well they cannot be help. The game mechanic is made for PVP resolution of their problems. As said before they leave of boredom or of PVE-griefing. And please forget about the idea you could limit any form of interaction and cooperation in a MMO game, both are mutually exclusive. No 'hard' limit on company size or alliance numbers will get you an upper limit. If a bunch of people want to work together they will get that organised in-game or through third party tools. Live with it and design the game to mitigate the effect of larger groups. Or are you really thinking their should be a game-master that bans and wipes people for voluntary cooperation? In a MMO? Also, something some people say for why they leave the game "I could not get my own claim/could not hold my own claim, meh..." How about finally realizing that the claim system is not for you to get, own and hold a claim? How about finally realizing that the claim system makes you a target if you are small and keeps you away from doing the stuff everyone can do in the game, like 90% of the rest of the game? Same goes for the lawless people. "If I cannot get a claim, I stay lawless" and get raided and wiped. Currently the only solution for the small guys is to get on a claimed island and enjoy the safety from it to play the game. But if you are leaving because of the claim system, please go back to real life and try to open up you own country and come back here to tell us how that worked out. And please don't come running back crying, because all the other countries already claimed the whole "map"... I heard there is still free claims on Mars available... How about you live with a community on a claim like you do in real life...? With the added bonus, if you don't like it, you can just leave to another claimed island no problem...
  3. Island claims are ok. PVE foundation spam, etc. is ultimatly a problem of no PVP, which fix that. Game is dying because of 1)PVP low survival rate for the defender = loose of stuff way more valuable than the cost for attacker, resulting in more and more wiped people leaving because "whats the point?" 2)PVE at some point not much more to do in a game which is PVP centric. Also because of no PVP the griefing, like being hindered in continue building because of structure obstruction. So my main change would be - apart from finally overhaul PVP combat to be fair for the defender - to get rid of the claim flag raid/protection timer and switch over to a claim flag raid area which is 24/7 while the rest of the island is full protected. Would give PVE an option to finally be save on PVP - no more need for PVE servers and the "special balancing" needed with that very toxic community. Would only need high structure count in the flag combat area, so the rest of the island - like every other base and ships just anchoring - do not be covered with even more structure spam just so they not get raided/offlined. Keeps islands and server resources clean. Does not mean your stuff is 100% save - if island becomes lawless so goes the protection - but it is a calculateable risk and you can help in keeping the protection even if your are not the owner and while your stuff outside the flag radius is still protected while you PVP to hold the island. This would also be inline with the coming flag height change, as the Flag Castle is separate from the other stuff on the island.
  4. quod erat demonstrandum... thanks for confirming you know nothing about games like ARK and Atlas... troll... btw Gold in Atlas is a worthwhile resource - keeping defenses going, crews on ships, claims claimed, occasional costumes or tamed Drake... btw. Gold has to be farmed like any other resources... but you have no clue about resource farming and the time sink of it... or are you still pissed - which you would have known if you would have played this type of game before - that you will not have your giant, hundreds of tames, solo-base protected by hundreds of guns and ships with crew... because you should not be "forced" to farm the gold needed (or maybe build smaller bases and fewer ships?) for that, because it would cost you more and more time (aka "sink") just to maintain your fantasy...?
  5. I felt a great disturbance in the Grid Sector, as if the voices of last few hundred PVE-players suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened... Because 12k/25k gold is nothing and as this basically is the only option a claim owner now has to clean up his claim - especially in PVE - this option will be used almost every time, it is just the cost of doing business... Will be interesting how that will lower the player numbers even more... Currently in PVP people who get wiped leave the game more often than not... that is, when the loose some to most of their stuff when they get wiped... now they get literally wiped clean... And the poor fellows on PVP, with their giant PVE bases that costed them hundreds of hours to design and build - and practically cannot just be moved to another island... - will they start all over again, if their island gets claimed by someone... Hell will it be the new grieving meta, to just claim PVE islands and wipe them, just because we can? @Devs... how about you make that option more selective and not indiscriminate? Like the owner can select which players structures he wants to remove and that starts a timer and leaves him time to get out... Hell, you could leave that option available for the claim owner all the time, helping him keep the island clean all the time and not just once... Funny how even if you go somewhat in the right direction adjusting game mechanics, you always go over the top destructively with it... like you have no idea how this type of game is actually played and therefore your changes will play out...
  6. LOL... thanks for making two points for us... 1. Why you even build a PVP base, if your preferred survival game mechanic would have no sinks and you like to spawn everything in effortlessly - making everything worthless to begin with? Why would we - that actually play this games - would 1) attack your stuff, if you can just spawn your "loss" back in instantly? 2) even play your distorted idea of a survival game, where you made any survival and PVP mechanic not non-existent? With your preferred changes this game would only be a adventure game - with the very limited adventure side it has currently - where you 'redo from start' when you fail at a quest... Hell, there is even a cheat command for you to spawn in a gally, so you don't have to sink down to the survival element and just attack the Kraken adventure again and again... 2. That you never ever played survival games at all - unless with 'cheat god'... You want a sandbox game, not a survival game...
  7. So better also get rid of resource farming? I mean, resources are only there to build stuff, there is no economy, so why have it... Just spawn all stuff in you want... Would also solve the problem of why people want to destroy your stuff... if it is worthless, destroying it is worthless... Hell farming resources to build stuff, so we can wipe your stuff is then also worthless... And don't forget that taming and breeding also has no economic value... so best just spawn in the lvl 150 perfect tame and be done with it... Obviously you don't get it, as you does not play any of this type of games, like Atlas ARK and Co., unless you have access to admin commands... Let me guess, in your ARK private server you switched need for fuel off... no "need" to maintain your AutoTurret wall of death...
  8. Take an NPC and put it on the wheel and whistle the course, put your water barrel at the front and jump on it with a grappling hook pickup flotsam solo without stopping... Makes way more Gold and food for the trip, also some BP... Also how about you make a fast ship... a brig with bare bones (no cannons as anyone with cannons will be slower anyway) ~3000 units goes like 90% (more with skill in weight) max speed aka ludicrous speed... And when you hit a speed bump with that you will understand why there is a upper speed limit... as you not take damage in the front but in the middle/rear planks... too fast for the server to calculate the impact correctly...
  9. Says the guy that pretends to have hundreds of tames in ARK and the meat and berry sink that comes with it... So please start complaining already how the berry sink - along with the gold sink - for the NPC crews in Atlas is the problem... So when you ever will play Atlas in the distant future, you don't have to feed the hundreds of Atlas tames that you promised you will have... Along with your no-gold-cost NPCs on your guns, so they are like the hundreds of Auto-Turrets you pretend you have in ARK, which had only a minor fuel sink, that allowed you to spam them, because they were build-and-forget for you, while NPCs in Atlas are not...
  10. Well, read again as well than... The problem with your proposal, which caused it to be changed to the new, BETTER system... is the same problem with RL taxes... yeah yeah yeah we can somehow all accept taxes on different things... it depends, as your idea, on how much... How many flags would work for you? And would that work for everyone else? And what if you come to a point where you need more or your neighbor should have less??? The only thing your idea to go back to a failed system will produce is you coming back here to cry more... It just like communism, right... great system, just everyone before that tried it has not done it right, right? How about having a game design, where this is not needed? Too easy? Just slap the ban hammer for usable game mechanics... For PVE it is called PVP... For PVP it is called fair Land-PVP-mechanic... Both we have not...
  11. Well that is the problem... Now we have structure spam in lawless and PVE... cannot be helped... you can put decay times as much as you want... than the will just build interconnected structures... it is no like people don't have enough time and no will to do it... "well I got time to spam foundations all over the place, but I got no time to have them connected, so I stop even trying"... said no spammer ever... For the PVP claim side, well we just build what we need to survive the OP tame attacks... which is already almost always interconnected... sorry for everyone that wants to legit pass through... it cannot be allowed... Also you confuse Atlas PVP with ARK PVP... most peaceful thing ever the smaller you are... the only toxicty in PVP currently is how hard everyone tries to get people to be friendly and live with you... oh the humanity...! yeah sure, if you go to an island and not say hallo, you might get killed... but that is on you... like you not show up in someones house unannounced, because you where looking for the toilet in the landlords safe... in PVP there is a remedy for toxic player behavior... in PVE you can just watch and cry on the forums...
  12. LOL, yeah, that is why they got rid of it... because the system was "stupidly" perfect... What will happen, if you limit the claims per company? - too small for good size company... or many alliances to that company sharing claims... result = what you hated about that old system... What will happen, if they limit the claims per player? - too small for you (even smaller after they locked you in)... or giant companies to have more bodies to have more claims... result = what you hated about that old system... Then you will come back here and want that players get the amount of claim flags you need to build your base, while the company size limit has to be reduced to something very close to 1 with an alliance cap close to 0, so that you not get griefed by the claim flag BS like before the wipe and everyone can live happily ever after... while the solution right now is as easy as it gets... you are too small for an island claim and you don't even need one... unless you are anti-social, of course... but there is single player for that - no one to get in your way...
  13. Easy and as said before - give the claim owner option to start decay timer on structures in his claim. - give notification to structure owner about this and when the timer runs out for him. - structure owner has time to move his stuff out and/or get structure resources back by demolishing it himself , before timer runs out. - when timer runs out remove structure and all items in it (no stealing by claim owner that way). Allows the claim owner to keep his island clean (for everyone else on the island) and does not grief the structure owner too much, because he can get his stuff out safely. And again, PVE in this game cannot work... by design it needs PVP to keep the toxic PVE in check as the only available mechanic that works... yeah, because that was spam- and grief free... not every 5m a fully walled in base blocking of the way, most likely by people that are not even any longer in the grid... and the fun with overlapping claim areas and how that was used just for fun = grief...
  14. So this is for the PVE-server / Lawless region side of the problem... Which hurt the PVP-claimed side of the problem, where we have to build more than a wall of pillars to keep tames out and more than just some foundations to prohibit thatch-ramp-cannonbear-attacks... So while I get the that the toxic PVE and toxic Lawless gets less toxic with this... PVP-claims need even more structures now... Is that a win-win?!?! How about get rid of the problem? This is not a game that has working PVE mechanics possible... Get rid of Lawless so those islands don't need to be "claimed" by foundation spam (also getting those players finally some real protection, which they complain anyway they don't have, but avoid to get...) Fix Land-PVP so that active defenses (guns) work and we don't have to rely on passive defenses (enough structures to blow up until the raid-timer runs out)... Would be nice to just have a well armed fortress (and yeah than it could be on the ground and not on some high mountain) with a killing field (as in empty / LOS-friendly). Because there is an 'overkill' for defensive guns, where more guns will not give more protection... There is no overkill in structure spamming for defenses, more is always, but not preferred neither by the attacker nor by the defender... or by the server resources... And while I am asking make only the claim flag area PVP (all the time if you like) so that the rest of the island has claim protection until the flag falls = lawless island... Then we don't need even more structures just to protected fully anchored ships and also our guests don't need to have the same base protection problem - as in more structures spammed - as they are save and protected while the flag is still there... might be OK for PVE to join PVP servers then... getting away from all the NEEDED toxic PVE-foundation spam...
  15. By going to a claimed island which offers protection... not only 15hr/d but 24/7 if you hook up with the local owner and militia... Too EASY? - well sorry for that... proceed with loosing your stuff then... If you are on lawless you deserve what you get... But seems the devs are about get you horses fixed... Not by getting you to finally drink from the water for your own good, but by just dropping you in the water - seems like in the future all lawless will become also claimable... Oh, the humanity, of at least 15hr/d of safety a day...
  16. They are right now playing with changes to the claim dynamic and more so the conquering of claims and most likely land PVP in general. Subtle changes are visible, like that lawless islands have claim values now already - not yet claimable... Also as they said, the claim flag height thing a few days ago goes in the direction of making land PVP more fair ~ costing the attacker more than the defender hopefully. Problem with that they tried to make the easy changes first - make flags reachable from the ground - with that taking away the only real defense that is available with the OP attacker PVP. Can lower the flag height when you can defend ground level flags, not before - or they will loose many more of the player base which they cannot afford anymore... I hope they do go in the right direction behind the scenes. It is the same with the lower aggro range of the SOTD, were it is difficult to keep aggro and not get hit while you shoot them with the back cannons. Hope that is related to getting new ship designs and systems were we finally get realistic ships with 'only' gun port cannons and some skill in ship combat. And that would be a waste of devs time, if the ships still get sunk in harbor while offline, keeping more ship to ship battles (or any other use of ships) out of the question, for the vast majority of - casual - players... They would need to make a wipe if they reach a point were they could not take legacy things out of the game, but need to get rid of them, because under a new game mechanic they would be OP. They did do it without a wipe, with the large cannon change. The other option for a wipe - which is the reason for Tiberius question here - for the devs is to use it as a kind of promotion for everyone that left the game to say 'hey come back, it is all new now, please'... I find this the most likely scenario...
  17. Yeah! Sea Horses ForDaWin !!! works every time... just only in ARK...
  18. - Well if they "merge" the two PVP or the two PVE server into each other, how do you think they will do it? Just copy the one server onto the other like a break in space time continuum, with bases from both servers clipping into each other...? And who gets the claim flag? No, when the merge aka get rid of one server each, at least one servers data will get lost and those players have to start over. And as that would be unfair to the players on the deleted server they make a wipe on the other as well so everyone gets to start new. Same goes for the possibility to merge PVE and PVP servers all into one. BTW they ain't call it EA for nothing...! Also bonus would be they get rid of all the illegal level ups and exploited items... - Of course they would have to make a complete rework for every major change to the game. And obviously they have to do something, as the current state of the game mechanic kills it off. But we are all confident that with the new sea horse tame at least 40k players will return, because that is what everyone was waiting for... NOT
  19. First of all it is not a raid timer - they added a peace timer... Second in hindsight that was the best of the worst decisions to make by them for a completely different problem. And it does not matter how long the peace timer is, it stays a bad solution. What they should have done - which we are all crying about - is the way land PVP works and hip PVP works. With the main concern that land PVP is broken in favor of the attacker. Before it was not possible to defend a base. Now at least you cannot defend a base for how long as there is no peace time. See the problem? Still not possible to defend a base. Still too easy with practically zero cost (tame a bear, make some cannon balls) for the attacker. Yeah I get it... Because it the marketing idea to sell the game with the use of streamers you want to make attack look cool - ' see how easy we streamers that are not so good at PVP lay waste to this giant base, they have no chance against us!' so buy and have the same fun. and when you bought the game you find out the other side. And because you have big problems getting to protect and expand you stuff, becoming a waste of time doing so, because you easily loose it anyway, people stop playing. Well at least they generated money for the developers, right! Right? So what do we got? - Game that is developed around PVP to the point that PVE servers do not work for the players iA option to get rid of foundation spam, etc... - Land PVP that is opposite of what it should be: cost for attacker > cost for defender - your stuff is save the moment it is not worth it to attack you... currently all your stuff is worthless, as it cost nothing to PVP it. - ShipPVP almost not existent in a ship PVP based game = high sea piracy game (yeah yeah 'pirate fantasy game' what ever you want to make believe...) because the low hanging fruit for PVP in this game is Land PVP. Why waste a ship in PVP that cost more time/resources to make than getting a bear with cannon, especially if your ship gets sunk while anchored and you not there anyway...? - Even if there were Ship PVP mainly going on it is without skill. I wonder why real world ships did not make the front/one-side/back-loading gun boats and so heavily relied on broadsides...?!?! Yeah, yeah, pirate fantasy game... and our customer generating streamers don't want to need player skills when they can get easy meta which only needs resources... totally understandable, but not so interesting for people that want to have a game with sailing gun boats... like most other people the got the game. 'But if we cannot build our ships how we like we loose the creativity...!' - said the player that builds his PVP ships like everyone else and can continue to lag in tactical creativity... - Up until a few weeks ago, we also had the problem, that everyone was feeling entitled to owning his own claim/island. Although this is not really needed and for most small groups not even practical valid to do... Now we have the situation that the server population is so low, that literally everyone can get an island, only to find out that they really are too small to afford it - who would have known...? 'Lower the cost or get rid of claiming, if I cannot have, no one should!' - As the population goes lower and lower because of this we are coming to the point of another wipe. For one to combine atleast the PVP and the PVE servers (doubling their pop). Also for the possibility that people will come back for the option of a fresh start. If the server pop falls beneath a critical value everyone will leave and the game dies. That value is when the last remaining players cannot find someone to raid anymore as everyone else already left and their stuff is already raided. If the defender does not rebuild to get raided again, there is no raiding, so no game play... - And don't forget you get nothing but OP tames in every mega patch, that no one wants or asked for... I for one would wipe the servers, make only one PVP server (which a physically all in one place = Germany anyway) and get rid of the PVE servers that do not work anyway, because of this being a game designed around PVP mechanics (as stupid bad as they are...) Fix land PVP so that NPC defenses work and therefore make cost of attacking higher for the attacker, even if the streamers and the Zerg would complain about their lack of skill... Fix ship PVP in that it becomes realistic to attract the pirate game players... again don't mind the screams of the skill-less... Make it so that PVE players are almost always protected in a claim, while the claim itself is PVP all the time and if it is unclaimed it gets lawless and even PVE can be raided. That would also get rid of the giant - but useless defense structures being build all over the place taking more and more space that the owner actually does not need or want to build up, but has to... because he has to protect his ships, his to protect his tames... has to cover every spot on the map which could be used against him... and has to kick out everyone from the claim that is in the way...
  20. Nope... What they have to do is make the PVP claim protection system PVE able. The PVE server are not working and PVE-ler are complaining, because they need some elements of PVP. The game was designed for PVP - most PVE aspects need some form of PVP to work for a healthy PVE community. Obviously the PVE-ler would be upset with this, yeah they would be happy that that all the toxic PVE that hinders them gets 'solved', but it also means their own toxic PVE gets solved as well. Maybe would be better if PVE-ler would learn to live together and not hide behind invincibility to grief each other with a system that was not made for PVE. Funny also that the people that want to get rid of the claim system (which is also mainly there to stop toxic PVE) are the same, that complain that they cannot get and/or hold a claim... How about you understand that you don't need to own a claim to have benefits from it. And guess what if you want to build big and protected claim owners will take you with a hand kiss, because of the farming you do for your giant PVE bases - unless of course you you spam the claim with your toxic PVE not caring for other people... And it could be done easily. Full PVP on a claim, while the island is mostly protected 24/7.
  21. @Talono LOL First you complained about not enough islands to live "free" on. Than that you had no protection on your Lawless island. Now you complain that you could have too many claimed = protected island to yourself, because they are empty. Will we get a thread from you next where you again beg people to join the Empire Server Colony Server, because you are so alone...?!?!
  22. LOL... - 'we' as in 'you' - Looking for ARK? You came to wrong place... go play ARK, which you obviously did not before, as you seem not to get what claims and upkeep solve that ARK lags, like giant structures and foundation spam so to have a "claim" for yourself on the ARK... - Again go to ARK, if you want it so badly... we the old ARK players want ATLAS, because less tame centered, less foundation spam and PIRATE SHIPS! - LOL, the ARK players are here to get away from all the ARK problems that you so love and want to spread to other fine games to make them as miserable... What a coincidence, the ATLAS Devs came from ARK... seems they also wanted to do something better than ARK... - Well obviously you know not much about ARK or the changes in ATLAS to make it better than ARK, as per request from the ARK player base... And as we already found out either you not talked to any or all console ARK players, unless that is only you and your only friend... - Yeah, fast travel, because who wants to travel on the sea in a ship in a ocean game... Let us get to the actual point of your thread: the upkeep... Seems you didn't like it to much when we told you in your other thread, that you and your friend (as in two people) will not be able to sustain your giant bases with defenses and 200 tames... BECAUSE OF UPKEEP... That is why you are crying now... Because ATLAS is not the game for you... So when seeing all your useless threads you made it comes down to you want: - A game with continent size (like 80+% landmass per server) maps, like with only a small line of ocean around it till the server wall. - Ability to have hundreds of different animals to tmae and breeding 200+ of those. - No need to go out to sea because everything is available on the one THE_ISLAND/server you are on the game has to offer. - No claims because you like foundation spam to secure your "claim". - If you build a Puckle/AutoTurret it should not have upkeep cost, so you can actually afford to own hundreds. - Therefore allowing giant bases that you can defend with two people. - But even better for you would be if the structures are invincible (question why you need a claim and or defense upkeep then...) Forget about your ships being invincible, as you don't want to travel anyway... - Oh yeah, and better - if you ever would like to get in the water with a ship - don't be subject to wind speed and direction. Sums all your wished up...? And your winner is...: go play ARK on PVE on your own private server... everything you want, including the motorboat that does not need wind...
  23. You don't understand what I mean by natural laws of the game and that Atlas basically does not have that many and they are not good... The law that you can "only" attack a claim for 9hr/d is such a natural law, same as the simulated effects of gravity in the game or that ships get slower with weight... While the gravity thing works good enough, the claim protection does not work for the game = players, nor those the way PVP is handled... Or the law that you can sink a ship with over-weight or over-crewed. That natural law finally changed so that it does not work on anchored ships (which the players screamed for long enough so it finally happened that the Devs thought about it and how it harmed their customer base). We need the same with the claim/protection and PVP aspects of the game. And it is obvious that the Devs have lost any design idea they had in the beginning, because all their ideas were epic fails in reality. Then they just did everything the big and the streams wanted to change to "promote" the game - just destroying more for the average buying customers. They are complete lost and overwhelmed since their initial not well though out ideas failed... We are at a point where a new server wipe will have to happen, just because they have to combine two or even all four servers to have a player base to continue the EA process. And yes it is possible to have PVE and PVP on the same server in the same grid for everyone all the time (no, not the stupid invincible structure idea). But that needs rule set that work positively...
  24. Well that is why I like natural laws better than human - role playing - laws... First of all I am a pirate, therefore not only am I "marked red" from the start, I have a Jolly Roger - the red flag, so you know what will happen, yarr!!! Also need no Letter of Marque, because I am a pirate and not a privateer that works for king and country... A Siege Token, I have, it is round and heavy and made of lead... And just so we understand the problem with any form of token to do anything. That is like hiding torpedoes behind high resource cost, not a problem for a Mega in a survival MMO were it is literally needed to farm lots of resources and do lots of things to get lots of things... you are not stopping anything from happening with tokens... you just maybe keeping people away from participating in the game, while the problem continues. On the other hand natural laws. Cannot attack anything on a claimed island during peace time - nothing is stopping you, but the natural laws of the game, no one is cut out of the 'action', everyone is naturally the same. Problem is the natural laws in the game are not good, going towards stupid and that is killing the game. You want a siege token so someone can wipe someone else? No problem, there is no "expensive" in a survival MMO = still get wiped, still leave the game. Because in the end the natural law of the game, that for example a cannon bear is OP against defense still stands... does not make a difference that it cost 10.000 Gold or what ever to use it on you...
  25. You are correct, but I would not rely on "law and order and crime", as that is player made, or should be in a good game. It should be more a set of "natural laws" that make PVP till you're wiped. Wiping seems to be the current state of the game. You hear of some large company wiping the other company and the next info you get is, they left... THE GAME... More likely than not even the most comitted to the game will stop playing, when he gets wiped by some exploit and or stupid game mechanic - which this game has ALOT. Meaning you can build what ever defense you want, the attacker has the "stream-able" adavantage. The moment you find out the hard way that there was never a valid possibility to defend and survive, the game is broken for you beyond repair and you STOP WASTING YOUR TIME with it. People can live with such exploitable mechanics and stupid design decisions, until the get wiped. So the question is, why do people get wiped to the point of leaving the game? Easy, as it is the same underlying answer as before. Because of the PVP setup the attacker has the superior advantage over the defender. Meaning the defender builds massive defences and stil receives massiv damage from a lonely cannon bear or other over-powered thing that basically cost nothing for the attacker. So if you are at war with another company and your enemy is danagerous up until he forever lost the ability to harm you at his will with almost zero investment = cannon bear, etc. your only option to get to this point is to get him to quit the game, in that leaving you alone. Therefore wiping is basically the only way - apart from diplomacy - to win over your enemy, if your wiping them can get them to quit. And that is basically the only working option for the defender in that case to be save. The attacker those not want to get you quit, because he wants to come back for you again in the furture. As a side show, everyone weaker - like normal players just minding there own business - get the same treatment when found by chance and come to the same conclussion and leave THE GAME, because it is BROKEN. How can the game fix this? Well what we tell the devs all the time, FIX exploitable PVP and make it a leveled battlefield, meaning the attacker needs to invest equal or more resources to win over the defender. Only at that point attackers will think twice about attacking anything and may keep damages to the other side low = safe their own resources invested in the attack. At that point wiping would be more expensive for the attacker than for the defender. And the attacker would only have to hurt the defender to the level were his own defenses cannot be broken in a possible counter attack, because that would take the other side some time get back to strenght. Right now the other guy just needs to tame another bear and make some cannon balls and all your stuff is at risk from him still. Hence you have to make him quit the game so you can be save.
