Not really white knighting bro. Just sick of the entitlement and silliness I only see from this gaming community. Game has 12k+ daily players on Steam, plus however much from Xbox that doesn't get reported. Game is alive and thriving. Don't listen to forum chuds.

All of the actual content of the game is at sea, under the sea, or, requires you cross the sea to get to. If you focus on tinkering with your farm equipment all day you aren't going to have a very good time in this game. That's just how it is. It has nothing to do with me dictating to someone else how to play the game or "interpreting the devs words" get out of here with those mental gymnastics. How else do you want me to say it? Breeding sucks, it's jive, its not funky fresh, breeding is not cash money, breeding blows chunks. If you are playing this game to breed animals, you are going to have a bad time. Its a literal full time job to do that, on top of all the other upkeep. You don't need to breed to enjoy this game to it's fullest. Breeding anything outside of bears, is largely for luxury/convenience. All of the actual content for a solo or PvE player in this game is done with cannons, carbines, and swords. Mind you, I'm an advocate for keeping mounts and tames in game, I like them too. I used to fall into the trap of breeding... not anymore. So sorry it offends you both that I don't join the circlejerk about all the terrible things the devs do. Also, consider, I'm not really here to convince you, or any of the other people who just come here to complain; it serves people who are trying to enjoy this game to see posts that dissuade them from breeding or doing other un-fun activities that are gonna get nerfed and changed as time goes on. Seriously, this is a simple thought process: It's not really... sensible... its a matter of mildly increased convenience later at the cost of major inconvenience now. (Bears not withstanding) Trust me... aside from kick ass battle bears (maybe a level capped crow) its NOT worth it when you really think about it. Take it from me, I just worked on a tiger breeding pen with its own HVAC system with levers and everything. I've done 1000 hours of breeding at least: It's just not worth the set up and grind. Save yourself the boredom and frustration.

My words are taken straight from the devs, mate. This isn't Ark. Stop wasting time with breeding unless you are breeding for OP combat tames or income. Considering the devs intend to causalize and lower the amount of breeding and taming it's a futile and temporary endeavor with very little to gain. This is a game about sailing.

What the hell are you talking about? That trailer was all in-game footage. Just about the only thing in that trailer that wasn't actual in game footage, and was scripted in some way was the freeport/city scenes. The video even has the hideous pop-in caused by having your clutter distance too low.

Imprinting is only for the ones you intend to use. Breeders dont need to be imprinted.

You aren't meant to tame and breed all day. You're meant to do maps and kill SoD, farm gorgons, do the trenches. Remember: Atlas is not Ark. Atlas is not a reskin of Ark. I understand imprinted bears or tigers for maps and PvP, imprinted Razortooths for PvP. Literally everything else just needs to be tamed to be useful as possible. Breeding bigger and better giraffes or whatever is for pure pleasure (and a testament to why breeding them shouldn't have been enabled to begin with.) If you derive your fun from being a dedicated breeder, cool. We need you. But, what I said still stands: breeding is not the focus of this game. If you arent "enjoying this game to the fullest" because you are focusing in breeding; a task with only minimal gains... that's on you; not the devs.

We wouldn't (yes, you too) be playing it if it wasn't. The problem with PvP is other players and the decision to have Survival FPS style PvP in a world that needs to be MMORPG styled; while still allowing loot. This is the reason PvE is over populated and PvP has vacant islands. Atlas can survive as an MMO with PvE, it cant with just PvP. I want you to try PvE because I want you to see the game without other people fucking it up for you. See, Photek has the right idea here. Why would the devs communicate QOL changes a head of time? What is there to be hype about? You guys aren't gonna be excited about shader changes, daily balance changes, etc. It's the exact opposite of what a lot of people on this forum and the Discord get hype about: Weeks of stuff breaking, and getting changed. Exploity metas getting patched out. How many of you are going to "Quit and uninstall forever?" when they nerf more non- gun and cannon based methods of raiding? Devs dont owe us shit. They could call the game finished tomorrow and we would have to just live with it. They could turn the game into Hello Kitty Island Adventure if they wanted.

Taming is not the point of this game. All of the end game content is done with guns and ships. This is your mistake..

Keep in mind they only have a handful of two people and a HUGE release with Ark soon. Stuff will get dealt with, soon. I am sorry this is happening to you guys. In the meantime you may wish to switch to Non-Dedicated and invite your friends to the same sessions. Wild Pirate Encampments are tons of fun!

How about battle summons in D&D... oh... and... in this other game, that shares a lot with Atlas... god whats it called? OH YEAH! Pathfinder! 2: Well its good that you think bears and pigs. Stealing livestock in the Spanish Main was one of the primary activities of pirates. I'm glad to see that you are learning! While in reality, battle bears were more of a Russian pirate/navy thing (they were used to carry heavy things, like cannons!) we have them in game because its an RPG trope. As for castles, we already talked about Sir Henry Morgan's raid on Panama! Let's also not forget about how Sir Henry took over Port Royal! I'm happy you learned something today, its a start!
