  1. From my understanding you will have an upkeep cost tied to your island that requires resources to be paid regularly. If you are on an island that is too big for you then you will have to maintain it with less people which means you run the risk of losing everything. ~Lotus
  2. Why has everybody surrendered to not having land? They are adding like 200 islands to the game. Each island is going to be tiered from my understanding so big tribes will have to spend a big points to get the bigger islands. Little tribes can get their little islands. If people don't keep up with their upkeep on their island they won't have an island. How does this not work? ~Lotus
  3. The big companies will want smaller companies to live on their island. If the smaller companies don't want to live on the island that is fine too they can try to get one of the smaller islands designed for solo/smaller tribes. We controlled most of F11 for most of the game and had quite a few tenants living on our land. We left their stuff up even though they were no longer living on the island (moved on/quit) The rule for living on our islands were simple. Don't build on resources and don't be toxic. I guess they could try to break your stuff to get your resources but any tribe that does that is stupid and weak. Also if they do that let me know and I will let others know what they are doing ~Lotus
  4. From my understanding it's a point system. Each island has a point value based on the tier of the island. So the biggest baddest islands are worth the most points. You get points by the number of members in your tribe. Bigger tribes get the most/biggest islands because they have the most people. It's a pretty good idea I believe.
  5. Jk that is a picture of Dynasty's flag. https://gyazo.com/22cea31a3c96eb0fa68ba486a884f43f I forgot to put in that I am a tyrant and extort everybody and we are chinese only and grief players that don't speak chinese and all kinds of other stupid rumors. I think it's funny people talk about Lotus when they know nothing about us makes them look like idiots. As a rule of Lotus do not claim land unless me, Lars, Panda, or Kinetic give you the go ahead. The rule was less than 100 flags. I have been on PvP for a few weeks and stopped caring about our flag limit. I personally have knocked over about 150 flags because we don't need more land, I don't want more land, it is useless to us. I have actually had talks to Jat about the current system and how as a tribe of 80 we can do it with 100 claims easy. So lawless is resource rich somebody mathed it out to like 500% more (I don't know the accuracy of it) they also have a decreased spawn of hostiles. So we use lawless like G8 as staging points. We have some on E11 and F12 because people that were tired of solo merged in and maintain their bases. The guy on G8 had a little village of people but left to breed and his guys followed him. It is maintained because we use it for the kraken (I will probably do 1 more before the wipe so people can see it if they decide to quit) Anyway Johnjohn you seem to just want to stir up the pot. Everybody plays the game to achieve something I think yours is to just complain about things you have no information on. https://gyazo.com/faf66d8997e53deb0c592db9e169e65d https://gyazo.com/9c3ab633f78771ebe96164fd683696fc ~Lotus
  6. I think you are just jealous. We have 200 members and make everybody pay taxes to us to get super rich! ~Lotus
  7. I have an alliance set up for people to build on our land. I keep the claims because last time I gave flags somebody decided to try and steal from us then grief our stuff so I need the ability to say you didn't follow the rules. Rule 1.) don't be toxic. Rule 2.) don't build on resources. The goal of Lotus is to make it so everybody can play and enjoy the game. Early on I traded 100 honey for a claim on like J12 or something. It was a pretty rough patch of land with no resources on a hot desert I just wanted a safe spot to dock our boats if we needed to go east. I came back like 2 weeks later and found an aggressive group had stolen some of their claims didn't build just took them. These guys had a really nice ranch RP thing set up with tames in different areas and little farm houses it was super cool, then somebody messed it up stealing their land. If we have something you want/need I will most likely give it to you, be it directions, advice, mats, whatever. ~Lotus
  8. Hello, We came in and knocked down a bunch of walls that were actually blocking resources. One guy actually had a box around 3 iron nodes. We don't operate out of a "main base" type thing. People join us and can build anywhere they see fit as long as it doesn't block resources. The ships there are built for maintaining our kraken fleet which is used to kill the kraken which anybody can join. It's free and I run them when I have enough people that are interested. (the game is dying so the interest fizzled out). I am wondering what makes us a douche company and what is garbage though. ~Lotus
  9. @Jatheish As a designer I would scrap how animals are at this point. Currently this game is turning into an Ark expansion. I would decide to stop living in Ark's shadow. Currently I've done all PvE material so my day consists of riding around on a level 70 bear with elephants behind me harvesting X resource with hopes of actually needing blue print weapons to complete the next PvE tier. Currently riding is basically a requirement for things to do effectively either everything else needs to be brought up or beastmastery needs to be brought down. I would change the tree to crew. It would allow you to get animals but the animals would have something they bring to the table and not be rideable. The shoulder mount thing would be fine but cruising around on (current meta tame) is basically Ark. So I now have a blank slate and need to make it so I can get tames. I would want it to be a low chance from mate boosted animals when you harvest their bodies or a high chance from an alpha. Could also put a vendor in the game that sells the babies. So now my players have a baby X. This whole temperature thing currently is silly and the way to fix it going to require a lot of resources from my company (grapeshot) so the cost would be too great to keep this. The concept is cool but the creation and implementation creates a poor user interaction with it so I would scrap it. The concept of feeding animals something special is a good one so I could fill up a bear with honey and it would mature faster or just use berries cause they are easy but longer time until they are grown. So now I have a way for players to get tames so I now need to make them useful. This would be the bottom tiers of the crew tree. Different animals would have a function that fall into combat or utility. For this I would think of how I envision an amazing creature of the type. Bear- Combat- Taunt enemies around the player acting as a tank. Chicken- Utility- When on wander produces eggs Cow- Utility- Produces milk (more on wander) Bull- Utility- when on wander fertilizes nearby crops Crow- Shoulder- When you die acts as a bed. Razortooth- Combat- nerfs alphas. Shieldhorn- Combat- Produces a shield that deflects projectiles. (Currently elementals have little counter play) Elephant- Utility- When on wander collects wood. Giant Pig- Utility- When on wander finds buried items. Giraffe- Utility- When on wander gathers thatch. Horse- Utility- Rideable, pulls carriage and cargo which helps tranports large amounts of people or heavy amounts of resources great distances (we need something that makes unloading a galley not horrible) Lion- Combat- grabs smaller creatures. Monkey- Shoulder- barehanded becomes climbing picks at a much higher stam use rate. Ostrich- Utility- Harvests seeds when on wander. Parrot- Shoulder- Makes musical instruments easier to play and buffs the buff radius. Penguin- shoulder- fortitude buff. Rabbit- Shoulder- When on shoulder provides a movement speed. Rhino- Utility- When on wander gathers stone. Seagull- Shoulder- When on shoulder reduces/removes fog debuff Sheep- Utility- When on wander gathers fiber Tiger- Combat- reduces movement speed of enemies. Vulture- Utility- When on shoulder decreases vitamin depletion. Wolf- Combat- has a howl that increases damage. Turtle- Make tameable- Shoulder- Increase swimspeed, decreases oxygen use, and reduces deep diving debuff. Rattlesnake- Utility- When on wander produces venom, venom is used for anti-venom which reduces torpidity. So now that I have all these super cool animals I need to transport them and the current bug is they fall off (scavenging tames in the ocean is super lucrative I know a guy that got a Razortooth) I would make it so boats have a animal attachment that is basically a cage and when you send the animal to it the animal gets turned into more of an item that is placed inside the cage instead of being on the boat (no more lost at sea tames yay). We now need somewhere to put all these wandering tames. I would make it so tames on wander don't leave your territory. I would also make it so you can apply a filter on the map to see where certain tames are. Now for the meaty part of the new tree. I would make it so NPC's you get from SotD have a type of suffix like Bob. Bob would be a builder. You would need points in crew to hire Bob and then you can put him on a smithy. If you have skills in construction you would be able to make things like stone at a reduced cost. The points in crew would only be to get Bob, the points in construction would make it so you can get the discounted building from Bob. This would make Bob your righthand man when it comes to construction of things. You would still need the recipe to make it though. So getting NPC's and keeping them alive would have benefits beyond "I need guys on my sails" which you would want to keep around because sailor NPC's would make your sails better. This would lead into reworks of the other skill trees, I would make farming capable of making the large crop plots grow fiber, thatch, and wood that the NPC's can harvest at a drastically reduced rate. The rate they harvest can be modified by giving them higher end tools. Artillery tree would also get access to alchemists that can be put on a mortar and pestle that will make it so you can stack unlimited resources inside it and queue up organic paste for more than 220 at a time... it would also make it faster to give the QoL that is missing from the chemistry station. I could keep talking about how I would change it but the TL:DR is make animals more companion rather than a requirement but still have meaning. Make NPC's more than a parasite when you arn't sailing. As a designer I would change a lot of things but for creatures this is what I would do. ~Lotus

    pve Land for Rent

No beans but you can come build a base if you want cause I have a good amount of space still.
  13. I'm happy to have finally killed it. That was our 6th actual pull on kraken. As the fight is now I believe it can be done with 2-3 galleys and about 20 minor ships if everybody is on the same page and understands how to work around the mechanics. We literally build ships specifically for fighting the kraken that are useless outside of the fight imo. We have lost 1 galley and I think 12 brigs from the other pulls. I have posted a bug report and messaged some of the employees on discord. I made a reddit post and people liked it to the point it became a hot topic, Jat posted and had the dev's look into it and that is the last I heard of it. As it stands you have to plan around the random death. If it was not bugged this fight is doable with 2 brigs and a galley with no casualties. With the bugs you need more people to soak the problems and death means you don't get the reward (which I would agree with if it wasn't a lottery death system) ~Lotus

    Kraken bugged

Hello, I am Lotus of Lotus from NA-PvE. We have had 4 actual attempts at the Kraken and found some bugs that make the encounter nearly impossible unless you get some good RNG. The first bug is that the ships of the damned seem to be invulnerable from player attacks for the entire fight. The second is that the encounter randomly kills all players and NPC's on a boat sometimes. The third is that the encounter also randomly kills a boat with all npc's and players on it sometimes. I also noticed today that the wind kinda went really low which I have never seen in the fight before but don't know if that is intended or a bug. I also believe the knockback from the tentacles could use a nerf but the fight is still doable regardless if you fix those bugs. Sincerely, Lotus Lotus#4187 on discord.
  20. That is awful. I have space on my island if you want to ally and build on it. You can also join us if you want. I am located in F11 on NA-PvE

    pve Land for Rent

I still have some places if people are looking for somewhere to settle.
  22. My name is Lotus I am leader of Lotus from NA PvE. I started atlas with my brother and sailed for 8 hours before settling in the middle of the NE island of F11. Through diplomacy I made an alliance that the entire island joined. Eventually we merged. The SW island wanted to join the alliance too and they merged eventually. Our goal is to do the high end PvE content. The recent patch allowed me to have alliances set up so people can build on our land. I set up lots and give them a simple set of rules don't be toxic (racist, harass people, grief) and don't build on the special resources (metal, crystal). Basically we admin so that people can just play the game and have a good time. I have spread my diplomacy to other groups which would be good allies and possibly even more mergers. Well that was our plan but the patch today limits us to 100 land flags or our flags become weaker. So I ended up knocking down some of our flags in weird places (mountains in the tundra with no resources). I feel this is a slap in the face to the people that have come together in an MMO, the ally work together for PvE is very limited. My question is why would you give one group of people a disadvantage against another in a PvE setting? I am assuming because nobody has presented a good solution to the land problem. Here is what I would do. (Also these arn't all my ideas) 1.) Rework upkeep. A companies territory should have a timer in each grid. Spending time in the grid adds to the timer. When somebody isn't in it the timer goes down. The owner counts as time in all grids. If somebody contests you just need to go to the zone and not look for the flag being contested just be in the zone. What does it do? The PvE is made to not fight other players, having to stop what you are doing to go hunt down a flag being contested is annoying. This will make it so tribes will be in the zone they have land in to keep the upkeep down. 2.) Rework contesting. If somebody runs across a territory while you are trying to claim it then it gets messed up. The solution would be to make it so it does not stop unless they place a flag down. This will make it easier to claim land when it is freed up. 3.) Remove the water claims that are not placed over water you can anchor in and make them normal sized. This will will make it so ocean claims don't cause interference to people's land. 4.) Sleeping bodies die after 3 days. I know of about 8 tribes that are gone just sleeping in their house holding land. These things are fair and will help free up more land. I have other solutions too but these are the ones I would prioritize. ~Lotus
