  1. Claims do need upkeep in PvE, Empire does not have any other the fending off others that want to take the claim.
  2. The timer does not reset with new owner. If you take an island over and the building have been there 24 hours and the owner has been there in past 4 days you cannot destroy the existing structures.. You cannot get rid of old pillar spam that the prior owner put down either, until they have not been on for 4 days.,
  3. I played on a 4K TV as a monitor, the lantency sucks for these mini-games, if I hit 25% I am doing good. For the reloading, I just let it take it s full time and not worry about, it wining it or loosing only affects the load time. Not like digging for water where you die if you fail, I now place barrels everywhere and are standard equipment on all my ships.
  4. I am glad you like the changes, would be great to hear which ones you liked the most and why. I am assuming you were one of the lucky few that actually got an island claim, if not, I am really interested in hearing what you like about the change. Don't get me wrong there were many good thing about the changes, but the claims change for PvE chased me away after playing for 1200 hours. Looking for good reason to come back (btw, the tax change was great start)
  5. Unless you are VERY lucking and catch an island the upkeep expired, you have no hope of getting a claim. there are only about 900 claimable island, only about 250 of them are claimable solo or by group less than 4.
  6. If the item is places 24 hours prior and vistied in past 4 days, it cannot be destroyed by new owner.
  7. I would wager, most PvE players do not want to be in large group. In atlas you own nothing, your group owns everything. I personally want more autonomy than that.
  8. That is NOT correct, if you dig up treasure that is 100 gold in 50% tax areas. you get only half the gold that shows on map. If you had tested this in PTR, you forgot about everyone having Digger III with the gold bonus. Edit: that is old, I have since uninstalled the game after this island level claim. Not enough to get me back, but a good step in right direction.
  9. I hope they wait a little while to show what a mess the current claim system in EU PvP.. However they will likely take it as, oh we don't have many people that want to play PvE.
  10. How nice of you to allow others to live on your island as long as they live by your rules and only build where you want them to build and treat you like king by paying taxes. Sad part, you are one of the better owners. Congratulations on you island claim wherever it is.
  11. That one thing I cannot complain about. The old 6x rates I spent more time running materials to storage than actually harvesting them. With this rate, get to adventure some with each harvest run. And materials are better matched to level gain, once tames are common, harvest rates are good. No of this one swipe for 2000 berries. that rate is actually 2x now of starting rate.
  12. This was a great move, the large groups that want recognition have a place. Still think the Empires would be better served by Colony rules with no claim limit, but this a great start. Please never publish one for Colonies or PvE.
  13. They can destroy anything placed in past 24 hours. So when I island is claimed, anything build last 24 hours is demolishable by owner. after that its like old lawless 4 days of not visiting your base become vulnerable again to owner. I highly recommend if do not have specific permission from owner to build do not do so. Most owners will assume everyone else is a potential greifer, and destroy first ask questions later. heck they even get taxes from you collecting materials while rebuilding. I do not know why developers think PvE players want to have large groups, as majority of groups are small groups of friends in PvE that play causally. Seeing that the population is around 3K on PvE at peek, the game did not reach critical mass were the world is alive and the move to lawless is already happening with the lawless regions holding steady or growing with players and the claim regions dropping. If they should these number tracked and graphed, if they don't the are doomed to fail. Unfortunately they probably interpret this as no one wants to play PvE and no open the NA PvE server.
  14. In prior iteration of the game I have had a claim, our group of 8 had maybe 10% of what is now a 35 point island. All was good, we had plenty of space to build and still have green space We were in alliance with others that claimed on the islands, the only reason we met them is they also claimed on the same island. We had taxes, we paid them when harvesting on theirs ares, they paid when on ours. We also worked together and traded frequently This all worked well because we where equals. The old claim system let me establish an area and plan out the base. Some like what we did and gave us more land by our base, so we could expand. This iteration however, did not get an island. Yes,could live on lawless, but at anytime could get boxed in my a anyone, than now it 10 days after they stop playing before I could clean up the mess. Or I could pillar spam the area I may want to build, then be no better than the people I complain that pillar spam. They should have kept the old claim flags on PvE, but added upkeep for each flag, that had to paid at each flag, so if you had 100 claims would have to have to make sure 100 flags are stocked with gold. Taxes should be capped in PvE at 10%, no reason for more, but the land is yours since your paying for it, you can decide not to let people build or not. Possibly adding a white lest to allow specific other to build. I chose to take this time to quit, and uninstalled the game. But I hold out hope they will make the game desirable for solo/small groups. under the guise of making it better for solo and small groups, they made it far worse.
  15. I am hoping the developers see how bad this is, and open the ,na pve with all lawless and structure upkeep as promised. Then the large groups have the pve colony server (EU) and small groups get the lawless server (NA) Most people are unreasonable when there is no was to restrain them. This is true even if they think they are doing good.
  16. My suggestion, open NA PvE with all lawless and structure upkeep like originally announced. The EU would be the large group server, and NA would be small group server. Since NA is small group server pillar spam would not be needed and punished with Admin action is company structure wipe. People that like the large companies would have a place, as would people that like small ones. Personally I like EU players on the server with us Na players

  18. I am with you, 1200 hours and last night uninstalled the game. Not interested in Living in lawless, it will start out ok, but soon the new big companies that can't get land will spam the place. And really not interested in paying taxes where some one else can decide the don't like something I built. The one thing that would have stopped that, building maintenance, was not implemted.
  19. When you get a map, make sure you check tax rate before sailing to it. If high taxes, just leave the map, no need to take all the risks and help the high taxer on their upkeep payments.
  20. Not upset, I took all my screenshots, but a day notice would have been nice to have burning down the world event. I really wanted see how long my galleon would last against SotD
  21. When is wipe, now for PTR-PVE monday or wipe monday for PTR same day?
  22. without the 4 day wipe threat, I had no problem living in lawless. Make reported excessive pillar/floor spam an offense, that is punishable with all company's buildings wipe. I do think companies would risk it after a couple whines on the boards. The all lawless would work.
  23. I am not a fan of the Company dynamic, I prefer to work with small group of people I know in real life or have played in-game for a period of time. Allies a number of groups to communicate, most of the people living on the island were in an alliance., where we negotiated trades and negotiated boundaries were we had claim overlaps. On of the companies was running low on active members, so they decided to merge with another company from another island and bring their current members along with them. Not sure of the details, but the new company did not accept any of the member and in a couple days kicked the original owner out. Effectively stealing the entire contents of the old company. To no surprise the old owner quit, and has not been seen since. The idea that companies own everything, and members own nothing individually really needs work.
  24. Most PvE companies I come in contact with, are not the size to control any island outside of the tiny rock islands. I personally have no interest in joining a company big enough to own a complete island, nor do I want to be a tennant. So not really seeing a place to play on PvE. Unless they are adding of large number of island that are suitable for companies that are 10 or less members and my company one, I will be taking a break from Atlas.
  25. Yes, pull up all your claim flags, scuttle all your ships, release all your tames. Then read the Captains Log.
