  1. Ahoy Pathfinders, let the voyage begin! Dive into an endless adventure of piracy & sailing, exploration & combat among one of the largest gameworlds ever! We’re excited to announce that Xbox and PC Crossplay has launched. Hoist yer sails and charter a course for the ATLAS. The much anticipated Xbox Crossplay Launch has come ashore. All of our networks are now online: EU PvP/NA PvP/EU PvE and EU PvP. We’d like to welcome all of our new players and extend a hearty welcome back to our grizzled sea dogs returning for the fresh wipe. Here’s what you need to know: It has launched Day One with crossplay support allowing Steam and Xbox to play together in the same gigantic world. Complete re-bindable keyboard and mouse support for Xbox players ensures full game parity and an even playing field for all players Optional single-player and private session modes, which also makes use of the new procedural “Wild Pirate Camp” system There will be simultaneous updates and content pushes for both Xbox and PC ensuring the delivery of the same experience for Pathfinders on both platforms We’re working on getting Unofficial servers setup for Xbox with Nitrado, where cross-platform can be enabled or disabled (in any direction so PC or Xbox player servers only) Answers to some recent FAQ: ATLAS will be available on Xbox Game Preview for $29.99 USD (£24.99/€29.99) The size of the game on Xbox will be 80gbPlayers will be able to host Unofficial Xbox and Crossplay servers via Nitrado The Xbox One X version currently does not support HDR but we will be adding it into the game with a patch later this week, with a bundle of GPU and CPU improvements for all platforms which are currently in testing. 2. Yes, all servers up. The patch for PC players will be very small if you're up to date as of the last deployment. Go go! \o/
  3. We’re happy to be able to share another update. We have the issue fixed with Microsoft and are good to go on our end! We are submitting for immediate release. The game therefore should be available in, hopefully, under an hour (it takes some time to process), and the servers will be put online as soon as we confirm the game is available. We don’t have full control over exactly when that happens but we’ll keep you all in the loop on the progress. Thank you for your support. Almost there!
  4. Ahoy Pathfinders, We’ve just received some news about the launch and wanted to share it with you alongside some further info that may answer some recent questions we’ve been fielding. Unfortunately, our launch time for our Official Networks and Xbox Crossplay will be delayed. In order for the game to list, there needs to be a change to some backend configuration settings that can only be done with Microsoft's help. As these changes are necessary for the launch of the game, we’ll have to delay it until they’ve applied those settings in the morning (Pacific Time). We don’t expect the process to take a long time and are currently estimating the delay to be 4 hours, pushing the launch time to 4pm ET. Answers to the recent FAQ from the Community: EU PvP, EU PvE, and NA PvE will be launching on the 8th of October at 4pm Eastern Time. Timezones for other regions: https://everytimezone.com/s/170de87f ATLAS will be available on Xbox Game Preview for $29.99 USD (£24.99/€29.99) The size of the game on Xbox will be 80gb Players will be able to host Unofficial Xbox and Crossplay servers via Nitrado The Xbox One X version currently does not support HDR but we will be adding it into the game with a patch later this week, with a bundle of GPU and CPU improvements for all platforms which are currently in testing. In other news, we are also working on an update for Wild Pirate Encampments! A patch will be coming out soon that will introduce difficulty levels to the WPEs. The difficulty will be displayed on the grid, and the camps will contain better loot the harder they are. We hope you’re having fun with that new system and thank you for all the feedback and reports you’ve provided about it so far!
  5. Units used in ATLAS are based on the Unreal engine's units, which are approximately 1 cm. To give you a point of reference: max structures in a 10k unit radius: 15750 <---- old value max structures in a 10k unit radius: 7875 <---- new value As you can see, the radius has not changed, just the amount of structures allowed within that radius. A foundation is 300 units across. So 33.3 foundations in one line equate to 10k units (They are not exactly 300um... They are a little larger than 300 but only by 5um. But their snap overlap is 2.5um on each side). As for the recent insults in this thread, I suggest you both take another look at the Forum's Articles of Agreement and tone it down.
  6. The Seahorse has been put on an indefinate raincheck due to critical performance issues related to it. We may revisit it again in the future. Locking this thread now, it has gone quite off-track.
  7. I'll take that under advisement from a person who never makes themselves look stupid
  8. We'll be sharing the exact time of day over this weekend.
  9. You may like today's changes regarding pikes. Thank you for your feedback.

  11. Ahoy Pathfinders! This Captain’s Log will cover ... nevermind -- we’re too excited, there's much on the horizon to share, so point yer prows hither and let’s get to it. The much-awaited Xbox Launch is imminent. As in, really imminent. Here’s what you need to know: ATLAS will launch into Xbox One’s Game Preview next month. ATLAS will be available for digital download on the 8th of October 2019 It will launch Day One with crossplay support allowing Steam and Xbox to play together in the same gigantic world. Complete re-bindable keyboard and mouse support for Xbox players ensures full game parity and an even playing field for all players Optional single-player and private session modes, which also makes use of the new procedural “Wild Pirate Camp” system There will be simultaneous updates and content pushes for both Xbox and PC ensuring the delivery of the same experience for Pathfinders on both platforms We’re working on getting Unofficial servers setup for Xbox Day One with Nitrado, where cross-platform can be enabled or disabled (in any direction so PC or Xbox player servers only) official network wipe After evaluating our options with the introduction of cross-platform multiplayer and a modified world map, we have decided that the best option to ensure the smoothest possible game experience is that our Official Networks undergo a data wipe on the 28th of September at 12am EST. Following the wipe, we will be permanently relaunching the NA PvP Network in order to iterate on our changes in a live-environment, following that will be the full permanent relaunch of all other networks on the 8th of October with full crossplay support (NA PvP will not wipe again on the 8th). With the upcoming major version launch this Saturday, here’s what players can expect: New world map with improved biome layout (and a new biome type) Over 70 new core island templates, and many polish improvements to existing islands Over 20 new cosmetics, and sail cosmetics Improved client and server performance Full Gamepad support "Wild Pirate Camps" option for singleplayer and non-dedicated sessions (enabled by default): take over each island across the ATLAS by attacking and claiming procedural enemy pirate camps, guarded by cannons, pirates wielding all sorts of weapons, and even powerful pirate ships! New Multi-shot Hydra Pistol Cats (with hats!) We have some more notes to come, which we’ll be sharing in full on Friday. We have opted for a rolling start in order to facilitate the best experience possible for all players on PC and Xbox. Beginning with this sole network allows us to monitor performance, make any technical adjustments necessary and resolve issues prior to the full Crossplay rollout on the 8th of October. Our decision to wipe the Networks was not made lightly and involved much deliberation and factoring in of technical aspects and the impact on our current PC players. We have made big changes to the game under the hood, revamped the world map with the addition of over 70 new, unique island templates, as well as some considerable optimization changes and limits put in place which required a full data wipe. After these sets of changes, we do not plan to wipe the network again, even with the introduction of additional platforms and new areas & islands further down our development timeline. We value and appreciate the time spent on the game and the only reason we carry out these wipes is after exhausting all possible alternatives and when they become a necessity. We truly appreciate all the support and feedback you’ve given us over the last few months and we’re excited to welcome new (as well as old) players onto the ATLAS! Structure, Tame, and Ship Limit Changes With the launch of the new network, we will be revising the following limits: ship, structure, and tame limits in order to provide players with the optimal experience. The new values are as follows: Maximum amount of structures in a 10k unit radius: 7875 Maximum amount of tames per company per gridregion: 300 (NOTE: Crew on stations no longer count towards the tame limit) Maximum amount of anchored ships per company per gridregion: 40 Maximum amount of unanchored ships per company per gridregion: 20 On The Horizon If you’re new to the ATLAS, you can cast yer one good eye over our Roadmap here: It’s important to note that this roadmap is not fully inclusive: we have a lot of other plans, content, and surprises in store for you all. We’ll be sharing more details with you as we go along. ServerGridEditor and Legacy Saves We’ve just uploaded the latest changes to our GitHub, this includes the latest json, new islands, and our updated WGE, so server owners can dive in and start making the necessary changes for the upcoming launch. It’s important to note that any savefile which used our older islands previously may have unpredictable issues after this update has been released, due to the level/technical changes that were made. We’d recommend wiping your saved data if you either used our jsons, or used our islands. For those playing on Blackwood specific saves, your data should be intact as well as those of you with completely custom islands. Github That’s it for this Captain’s Log, we look forward to sharing the ultimate pirate experience with our new crew members and continuing on our journey with our seasoned veterans (resplendent with their new fancy hats ) Happy Sailing, Grapeshot Games For the latest dispatch on #playATLAS keep yer one good eye trained on this here information Natter n' chatter on Discord: https://discord.gg/playatlas Hear ye, hear ye on Twitter: https://twitter.com/sailtheatlas Watch us scallywags on Twitch: http://twitch.tv/sailtheatlas Plus ye can band with us Pirates on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/playatlasgame

  13. Quick sleepy share of this announcement See you there!
  14. Wild Pirate Encampments and Megapatch Going Live to the Public Test Realm We will be launching our Public Test Realm again today in order to test all of our Megapatch content along with the much-awaited Wild pirate Encampments! Wild Pirate Encampments Wild Pirate Encampments (WPE) are collections of enemy NPC characters, defensive fleets, and fortifications which inhabit claimable islands. They have varying weapons (melee and ranged), defenses (various cannons/turret types), and live in pre-built forts. They’ll also have AI ships representing all 4 classes (Sloop through to Galleon) patrolling the shoreline of their islands. The placement of Encampments will be randomized along the islands, and they can also include inland encampments without ships. You’ll have to explore an island to discover all the encampments which inhabit it, and the number can vary based on the island size, with larger islands having bigger and more Encampments. In order to claim an island, Pathfinders must destroy the WPE that currently live on it. This includes their patrolling ships and any enemy NPC within range of the Encampment center. Players will be able to use the Encampment claimflag to reveal nearby enemy NPCs. After claiming an Encampment, all Encampment will be structures transferred to the new settlement owner. Once defeated, an Encampment will never respawn. However, if the Encampment has not been fully defeated, it will reset to full strength if sufficient time has transpired without it being rendered. Please note that Encampments will only spawn (and can respawn) on unsettled islands when no players/tames/structures are nearby at all, over a long period of time. An island can only have Claim Flags placed on it when no Encampments are present on the island, indicated on the HUD when the system is enabled. This will be available to play on single player and non-dedicated at the moment. The PTR will also have all of our latest content including: New Islands More new, unique Islands will be landing on the ATLAS giving you more opportunities to own land, explore and unlock new Discoveries. New Cosmetics: Sail Skins Unfurl new sails against the sky with new Sail Cosmetics. The new cosmetics for small and medium sails lend the appearance of a delicate Junk or Sampan rig with bamboo slats which harkens back to a Far Eastern inspired sail design preceding Western square sails. Opt for the new large sail cosmetic to imbibe your ship with a commanding battle galley aesthetic and make it stand out as the flagship of your fleet! Hydra Revolver The Hydra Six-shooter pistol allows for up to six shots before reloading! If you have multiple targets (or your aim sucks) this may be your weapon of choice. Cat Found on Freeports, the cat makes a purrfect pet for contaminating enemy pirates! It can be tamed by hand-feeding, but you better be sneaky, as they’re known to be quite skittish. After a cat has been tamed, order it to ‘hunt’ and wait for your tamed feline friend to catch a rodent, fish, or bugs. Also includes: Controls: Updated full gamepad support Font: Fully updated font How to join: Dive into the PTR and run everything through its paces with the benefit of 8x rates and increased engram points to unlock all slills to assist you in testing. We look forward to sharing more announcements including exciting Xbox news over the next week! Grapeshot Games
  15. @Ress Let me know which items specifically you need the class names for and I'll help you out. @boomervoncannon
  16. There has been a Captain's Log and a Roadmap Recap since this thread was first posted: There's loads of info in the Roadmap Recap regarding acknowledging the issues that we’ve identified in the game and outlining our plans to address them. Aside from those, our current status remains the same: we'll be a little quiet as we focus on important things internally and we're looking forward to a stream and some announcements towards the end of the of the month.
  17. Appreciate the positivity! I love the ships in general and (yes, even though it needs to be hit with our upcoming balance changes) I think ship PvP combat can be really enjoyable. I even like listening to the ship-related sound effects and visualising the talented Watson Wu and his team clambering about on a 1812 replica ship to record them: I really enjoy the creative builds you guys create. I've seen Tahitian marina, castles, taverns, hanging gardens, skull forts, Red Wedding halls...along with intricate sail and ship designs. The Aurora Borealis is really ambient. Waveworks gives a cool effect to the ocean, I know the guys spent a lot of time on that. Our level designers excelled themselves, I'm blown away by some of the points of interest, statues, and ruins are just amazing. The great hall in the Polar Dungeon is a place I hung out in whilst doing QA on that patch. There are also uwotm8 moments with the level designers. Case in point : Iso's Blackwoods map is just beautiful in general. She has a real eye for aesthetics. Hmmm oh and I like the derpy expressions on Crew's faces at times. I love working with my talented and technically ambitious team and acting as the human shield for them at times haha. I also appreciate the passionate Community. Most of the harshest critique comes from a place of being invested in the progress of the game and I filter it through that understanding. Acting as an advocate and voice for the Community in meetings whilst also supporting the team internally brings a sense of accomplishment.
  18. Public Test Realm Update It's time for us to bring down the PTR in order to iterate on new builds internally. In a few hours the PTR will no longer be accesible to players. Thank you to all of you whom helped us run it through its paces, bug reported and gave feedback on new content and systems. Your contributions are greatly appreciated and will directly benefit the quality of the upcoming Mega Patch. Cheers! Grapeshot Games
  19. I've ported the Patch Notes for the PTR across from Discord, I'll update as I can.
