  1. Ah, yes and no. Imho this will die out with time. People will rotate in and out of game and claims will change. At least that's are my hopes. At some point hopefully they will add system with which you weren't in game for 30 days, your flags will disappear ... or something similar.
  2. I understand you have big company (lets assume 100 man) and it works for you with 2 claims? Or now many which are able to have "nice play" with only 2 claims? 1 Sea claims is enough for small company (2-5 people) - that i can confirm with qualification that overlapping bug has to be fixed, otherwise its not enough. 2 Sea claims is actually best cause you can ensure that resources you use are present (on small island its important). I'm really tired of those "Lets exaggerate as much as I can get away with so they see there is a problem". Its like talking with my 6 years old nephew.
  3. First thing I see as a problem is shrinking claim - this means if I have big build (like base + pen + few supporting buildings) I run risk of losing some of it. But non the less I like it. Would have to be developed way more + it would be time consuming because you need additional stuff like new perk tree and graphics... But i like it. Unfortunately you will run into the same problems game named Boundless had. What to do with people you don't want to have in town? What to do with people who get bored and start trolling common areas? Etc. Bad apples happened in every place and with big towns two or three such bad apples could wipe out a town making it too irritating to invest in it.
  4. Agreed. And when you have very active island with one inactive claim, its nearly impossible to claim as in every hour people are running around doing stuff, interrupting the claiming.
  5. You need to offset some labels. Grid name overlap with freeport and lawless icons.
  6. Heh, yeah... There should be freaking logs for admin to check, not "proof" by players. Any proof by player can be forged, while logs on the server can not. Player should just jump start the process, by saying this and this happen on this hour in this server. And gm just go, look at logs, see actions players did and decide ban/not ban. For example log when player weight > 10000. You have so much weight?! You are exploiting something. Ban. Simple and quick and will weed out a lot of griefers.
  7. Half of the time they are actually screwing themselves too because gates have really big radius where resources won't spawn.
  8. On schooner small sail (i'm using handling) is extremely good for maneuvering. It won't pull you any significant way forward but allow much faster turning, practically in place. Especially helpful while you want to maneuver around many anchored ships or need to turn the ship around. One big speed sail is totally enough for sailing IMHO.
  9. Grid you are in most probably. I've been playing yesterday for multiple hours and had only one known CDT cause of server changes. Plus sailed through like 7 sectors and spend few hours in my base. Have to say, we have been actively sailing around lawless. It's tragic in those parts of the grid. Lag and ruberbanding hard enough that it was efficient to sale around them.
  10. Actually this "doesn't block spawn" probably spilled over and we have crocs or wolfs (even alphas) spawning in bases killing tamed animals so be prepared for new changes in that area. Now, for the "give 1 person a claim". Here how it will end up: Zergs will have tone of land. Everything else will be divided between extremely small companies. Only zerg islands will have any resources left cause everything else will be blocked by buildings on single or double claims. Claim overlapping will mean you will quit the game the moment your neighbor goes offline and some griefer will overlap you base which you spent last 60 hours working on. I've wrote it in the past i will write it again. Think out solution which will survive against hundreds of very dedicated trolls and won't end in disaster if people will be greedy, jerks and obnoxious. So if people will be people. Assume every 1 out of 10 players is a jerk. Assume every 1 out of 10 players is a griefer. If you think your solution can solve that - than please write about it. This one I would love to hear about. But proposing stuff which will probably end with another disaster? Probably even bigger one? Imho not the best idea. Bear in mind, I won't care. I need two claims that i have, 3 are luxury i can have in current and proposed solutions. But if you think 1 claim per person will help you? Nope, it won't. And zergs would have field day claiming all the "now unprotected" land. The only people who will trully benefit from this changes are said Zerg 500+ clans.
  11. 6 hours if the person you want to claim has only 1 claim total. The more claims company/person have, the less time it takes to claim. But i have to say they overdid it....
  12. heh.... I have a proposition for all of you, who think current system is bad. Think out a system which can't be twisted by group of very dedicated trolls. Than propose it. 1 claim per person? Alpha tribes win. Solo players and 2-3 person companies have problem. In ideal situation - where every person can get one claim and build on it, islands are barren lands because every single claim has some building on it. Limit claims per company? Alpha tribes split into alliance of multiple companies (organized either in game or outside of it). Zerg tribes are already established with leaders and subordinates, management, etc. Take out organization part out of the game, they will organize outside of it, discord, forums, etc. Nothing will change. Arguable it will be worse because you won't be able to tell its zerg tribe you are facing. It will be conglomerate of small companies. And they will still have equal amount of land. Take out claim system entirely? It will result in barren land because every single place with resource spawning will be taken by someone building 1 block house with bed or we will have spam of pillars and foundations as in lawless. If you can find a system in which i can't find a disaster, I would love to hear about it. And please keep in mind that claim overlapping is still a thing and not fixed in any way. This actually make your proposition even worse cause you would have trouble making buffer zones.
  13. Right now cooked meat stack at 30. Full stack will decay in ledger in 20 hours. Exactly the same as raw meat. This means on PvE its nearly useless and without excess resources there is no point in making it. Its faster to eat raw meat and to get full stomach, small lose of health (half health without any points in hp) means we can walk it out easily. If we could increase size of the stack to 50 (or 60) we would actually get tangible benefits from cooking meat: 1. It would take less inv space than raw meat 2. it could actually take longer than 24 hours for stack to decay, so if I logged out with full stacks in ledger, next day i would have a bunch left when i log in.
  14. Glitch. It happens from time to time and few where mentioned here, on youtube, etc. Nothing ever came out of it beside freaking people out. My personal pet (tin hat for sure) theory is they had more land prepared but servers weren't able to perform up to "standards", so they scraped that land and from time to time some glitch in client makes meshes to show up what could have been
  15. Did blue map today, 2 persons team, got around 25% of a level (more or less). Was on level 51. So, treasure maps are good for leveling right now for me.
  16. Probably it will work like 99,9% of the time . I was thinking 4 stories, because i had 3 stories (third story was a roof) towers 3x3 from which i wanted to hunt crocs around my base. I had to add another floor because If they agroed and I was not standing on the 3rd floor from croc (on top of the tower) I was getting damaged. This is why imho 4 stories are important, but only in biomes with crocodiles. Wolfs and so on should be fine.

Its possible, its freaking griefing and you need stone (stone if animals still destroy buildings, otherwise wood or thatch is enough, right now i'm not sure after so many patches) house, 4 stories high to be 100% safe (crocs can bite up to 2 foundations wide and 3 height through walls). Or very wide house. Non the less, you need to build defensively. In PvE. Also you need to claim defensively or you can get your base overlapped by someone else territory and lose tone of stuff. In PvE. So yeah
  18. Hue hue hue.... By stupid mistake I've left open a claim. And someone else build a taming trap, blocking tone of resources in convenient place for me. I've changed it back to company only and now i have to wait 3 RL DAYS to demolish the trap and 10 DAYS to demolish the containers. And no, i can't access containers. Yeah.... you are really in danger if I add you to exclusion list. You have more protection than my claims if I'm not sleeping inside them. And you know what? There is no way I'm going to left any claim open for everybody. If someone comes along and has basics of good behavior covered than i will consider including him on my "claim for rent". Otherwise?! Hell no. Not, if first people who came by blocked tone of stuff, tamed elephant and went away leaving trash behind.
  19. Can easly agree. I'm in next sector and sailed a lot in the neighborhood sectors. Ping and lag in C10 is out of ordinary. We have smooth sailing all around (minus lawless- those also have tone of lag usually), while it tanks down horribly in C10.
  20. We just did blue treasure with like ~800 gold written on map. There were two of us. Each of us received around 870. This may have happened earlier too, with smaller maps, and IMHO it did, but because we were doing common maps with very low income we didn't pay attention. and can't say for sure.
  21. Ouch, actually i would strongly disagree. If i would be rubberbanding all the way (servers upgrades?) too much to build a ship? But truth be told servers are right now in playable condition (mostly) for me so now I fill the pain of the stuff above. And yeah, I forgot about animal spawning problem as its quite recent.
  22. Which means crap on PvE cause we practically ever fight unarmored stuff. And this comparison didn't even touch fire arrows.
  23. Hi, I'm quite curious what do you think should be the highest priority for wildcard to fix. Maybe they will read it and take into account our feedback when some numbers (of people) are involved. I tried to include all hot issues. Single choice - what is the biggest pain for you right now.
  24. One thing you should do - put a ticket on wildcard ticket system on this guy explaining situation. This is PvE, such stuff should not happen. It probably won't help your case - freaking hard to say if he did it with bad intentions - but may help future ones and will cost you like 10 minutes top Three things you can try/could happen. First - hope he will stop playing or go long enough that you can claim his flag. Second - do what he did, find a flag ready to claim near his terrain, claim it with sea claim. I wouldn't recommend second solution, as this imho is griefing.... Finally you can try to communicate with him through signs (the structure) - better chance to catch his attention than text on claim flag. Just be prepared that he is desperate for terrain too and without some compromises you won't get anything. Unfortunately until claim overlapping is fixed you need buffer zone of you claims around you. Otherwise this will be happening. This game in current state requires you to work around that and few other bugs until they fix them. From current history - fix won't retroactively fix your situation too. Best advice IMHO right now would be "find another place" or learn to live with current situation. Its infuriating, but truth be told easiest way is to go and find other claim where you can set buffer. Bank may work, but unfortunately the way overlapping work, he may be able to play normally without the tax cause it is considered his. Didn't experiment with it myself
