  1. They haven't updated islands in sp to be detectable by silos. it's a bug, in the mp game that had to tell silos the islands have a pts value to get them to work. They need to do this for sp or else.. learn to code. As it sounds like the person doing all that work.. has quit.
  2. 1 month.. should have seen how many left at end of the first day...
  3. Back at you. You were the one saying you'd do it anyway, why you'd report him is beyond me, they own the island.. they can block the spawns all they like. They live there. Not you. You get a map, sail 12 regions find someone lives there, you ask for them in chat, you come back later.. you throw the map away.. Or you can grief them.. knowing full well, you still won't get the treasure..you'd only be doing it out of spite. And you'd be the first spiteful german I've ever met.
  4. If you think about it.. a wipe is happening right now.. it just takes a few weeks to work itself out.
  5. It's true grapecard are to blame ultimately, but the people doing this have a choice.. they choose poorly.. and become griefers.. As I said.. if it was mw map or above, I'd hang around for a day or so, or a few hours, log out, back a few later, asking for the owners..most of the people I know would do the same. But this guy on here and others.. they play for themselves.. don't care about anyone else or their hardwork.. even admit they do, they'd do it, just for spites sake.. Well, remember what goes around comes around. When it happens to you.. you can remember this conversation. When you had a choice. Those 20 mile pillers.. only takes 4-5 people about 2-3 hours to build a thatch ramp up.. problem is when it's an owned settlement and you're about finished and some dude comes along and whacks your foundations out from under you.
  6. Not had you wheetabix? Am 66, am quite well aware of the issues with endgame xp.. middle of gathering stuff to build mythic Ls. But I'm laid back.. here to help.. people like you.. here for you and noone else. Stop being so selfish and ignorant.
  7. No I get it, You play this game for You. I play this game for the people around me, that, is where I get my fun. The Aod do despawn.. but they have to make contact first for the timer to start. Otherwise, they don't despawn. A bug within a bug methinks. As for it not being the map hunters fault.. it can't be anymore his fault than anyone else.. you approach the beacon it's in someones base, you throw the map AWAY.. it's that SIMPLE. Unnerstan? Afterall.. you can't get the loot without killing the AoD who you can't kill because they're behind locked doors.
  8. What you don't realise mate, is who you are in a game.. is also who you are in life.. Company or no.. you're still a (ran out of ink)
  9. See i would ask for them in chat, arrange to come back later and try again then.. people like you should be kicked onto the pvp servers. It isnt the base builders fault the devs dont block aod spawns in their base. I wonder how you'd feel if someone did this to you.. killed all your tames for what.. a thousand gold? Can get that in a few maps just with common maps..
  10. Ah ok, was a guy in I8 on Na pve. Saying exactly the same thing. Guys zip lined into base.
  11. Yeh looks like they need to just shut down the pvp servers as they're mostly empty now..
  12. Sorry to say, but you need to play on Pve.. clearly you're not cut out for pvp. What you're describing is a fundemental reason why I don't play persistent universes with pvp in it. There really is no point unless you have mates.. alot of mates.. at the very least a few to die with or alot to win with. At a certain point, pvp becomes easy, because it's basically you are mowing everyone else down.. that seems to be the nature of pvp these days.. zerg or log out.. Gone are the days of small hunting parties of hidden undead rogues sneakin and slaughtering posing hunters and their pets.. just for kicks.. I prefer the cod or planetside (or wow) type pvp games, can't be bothered with this persistent world stuff, like elite.. ark, atlas.. I'd rather play a relaxing pve game than log in every day to see my effort all gone, whilst I was offline..
  13. Yeh. I saw your msg ingame. I agree. I've seen this before, some greek guys came to our base on eu pve, spawned a map inside the base, most of the aod were stuck inside our smithy area, but several escaped to kill nearby tames. Which were on neutral. The aod seem to be immune to non player mounted tame damage, or take considerably less than might be expected in a map fight. I've noticed the unmounted tames fighting alongside seem to miss alot or don't even hit the aod.. certainly not as often as a mounted tame does. Their attacks are much slower. Possibly to try to nerf tame farming for mythos.. etc.
  14. I like the shops, could do with some better organisation and maybe a sort of map indicator for easier location etc. Also they should be able to support bigger inventories etc. Selling a stack of 500 wood is kinda useless if someone wants to be 50,000 and you can't trade ships or tames on them, both should be applicable. Also a sort of refridgeration like the ice sack or larder for selling foods, drinks etc. Instead they just rot away.. so alot of items that you might sell can't really be sold. I don't expect a region wide or map wide auction house, that's more ideal for fantasy games or games with technology to support it. So small local shops is a better idea, they just need to be improved. As for quitting the game.. well, I'll stop commenting when I do that. The biggest fail in Atlas as far as I am concerned and the most complained about issues I hear from people leaving is about the sinks in the game. Gold charges for islands.. gold charges for shops, gold charges for crew, gold charges for customisations.. and so on. To buy resources you have to trade a resource and pay gold.. and the rates are extortionate. There are too many and insanely expensive sinks in the game and it's these sinks, these timewasters that seem to be driving most people away. It's a shame that a game has to die before anyone accepts their idea is wrong. I enjoy playing atlas, I like just roaming around sinking sotd..I could do just that for the next 5 yrs.. but the game is boring.. because there really aren't any people playing it. There's noone to talk to, except the 5-6 people in my company and the 5-6 in allied chat.. and the odd 1-2 others dotted around.. there should be 10s of thousands.. of people playing atlas and enjoying. Grapecard.. stop making the same mistakes you made with Ark..
  15. Sail out of render distance and back in if you think it is due to demo. I've been to several islands around N1 - N8 and there's alot of player ship wrecks. Where a few days ago, there were alot of player ships. Maybe it's my entering render distance that is triggering it? Dunno. Also had a brig outside my house for 2-3 weeks, it's also gone now. Dunno if guy moved it or it demo'd tho. Just glad it's gone.
  16. Yeh it isn't like they spawn a mile away and people are slow to react, they can literally spawn all around you.. within a stones throw of your ship. Fortunately, they have a warm up period, ie a sort of load cannon delay before firing, so usually you can escape if they load around, but if they load right in front, you can collide with them quite easily before your ship even starts to turn. Lately I'd say they've been spawning slightly off to one side but nearly always when I have a full gally and almost never when I'm out in brig. This needs to be fixed. They're supposed to be undead ghosts.. not actual pirates trying to steal your wood.
  17. Island-Wide Crew Resource Storehouse. That’s I.W.C.R.S for short. OR Silo. For shorter.
  18. It's funny.. I got into N7.. Cyclone Storm.. cut into O7 another cyclone storm.. then into N8.. another cyclone storm. almost pushed me onto island. Was rapidly wishing for flat calm seas again.
  19. Only that it sounds made up. I play pve.. so replace player pirates with sotd.. I get around 14-15knots empty with good winds and 4 racks. Full I get 10 knots in a storm, avg is 8.7-9.2 or so. With poor wind it's around 6-7kn and in calm it's 3.5-5. I spawn on avg 2-3 fleets of sotd per region, usually with lv 25-30 gallys, sch and brigs. Often 2 gallys, sometimes 2 fleets. They do insane salvo damage on the racks, nearly 100% target eff on them. I usually loose upto around 2-5k hp on them just passing through, none if I can go around, but usually you can't go around without massively extending the trip. That's with 268% damage resistance. Mw + racks really helps tho. We're starting to double up with gallys doing long distance runs, with escorts.. it's probably the way the game should be played anyway.. if you want to play solo.. you take the grief that comes with it. Pvp or Pve... Biggest damager for me is cyclone storms.. those do considerable damage to my ship. Just did a 12 region trip bringing back 60 stacks of ironwood and some cobalt, twigs and tin etc. Pretty much a 12 hour trip. However I don't use 6 spd, I use 1w 4s 1h setup. Because it looks better. I do think they should carry twice as much.. with same slowdown.. because 60k wood.. won't even build a gally. Won't even build half of one.
  20. Because there's no way of knowing if you're offline for 2 weeks or 2 years.. Could do with a mothballing system for players leaving the game, where ships etc get put into stasis out of the environment for a set period of time. If no login, then get deleted. That'd make the game abit fairer to very casual players or people on extending holidays/work etc.
  21. The food system I like and I use it all the time. My ships are fully stocked with cooked fish, milk, cooked foods, vegs like rice, olives and fruits. Both Salted fruits, fish and meat as well as primes. Usually I go for spicy rolls for the cold buff, since I'm in arctic alot and it's handy for wrecks there. Even tho I have 60 fortitude now and a mw fur suit. And the water fortitude as well. I'd like to see fruit trees added, as well as higher yield crop plots, with a massive increase in plant growth/fruit time, the current speed is just too fast. I'd also like to see more simple combination meals, like puddings using milk, eggs etc with the more generic herbs. As well as maybe a drink using limes. And more severe effects for alcohol. Melting screens, spinning environments. As for player death penalty, it needs to be added back into the game.. but not as slow as it was before. They also need to add a very severe penalty for eating poo to suicide. Maybe something like a Weakened effect for 15-20mins after suiciding, + reductions in harvesting, melee, ranged skills, like reloading cannons or gun speeds. Maybe a big reduction in fortitude ie - 50% of current fort. Of course, people will find ways around this, like getting killed by animals etc. Or by fellow company members. So we need more severe death penalties for these deaths as well. The original poisoning system was good, it was just too tedious.. and it made dying a very slow and boring period, the current system is a little better. However being unable to jump etc due to a broken bone and thus unable to get to the food or medikits or onboard your ship because of buggy glitchy ladders etc.. isn't particularly helpful either. Overall tho.. food and cooking is good. Great for game immersion, those who don't use it, I guess are just playing for the quick action console game.. which frankly, I find boring. Thus I don't use gamma cheats, poo cheats etc unless I really have no choice. ie When I get the sailing bug, where you don't get hungry and your vits drop to nil.. so when I get to 50% health, I'll eat poo then just to speed up the process. I don't use gamma cheat at all, infact, I have gone the opposite way and dropped my gamma to 2.3 it makes nights alot darker, thus the game is alot more difficult to play.
  22. Just my way of saying nothing wrong with game, problem lies with us.
  23. Temperate Seas need more storms.. Tundra is all fog/cold fronts/sotd Artic is sotd/fog/sperm whales, Equatorial is all heat waves, storms, cyclones, fog, cyclones, cyclones.. Temperate seems to be calm sea.. no wind. Last 3 hours sailing sound N4-N6 so slow.. 6 knots.. calm wind, some fog, no sotd.. every night it's 3.5 knots for me, gally + 4 racks.. fun dodging sotd.. but hard to stay awake otherwise. I actually tried the fishing net and it told me I was going too slow!! 12 hours sailing so far.. N8 to N2 to A1 and back to N8.. slow going.. although from N2 to A1 I got 14knots.. wish I got that all the time but it wouldn't realistic.. but neither is this 3-5knots all the time either. That said.. 7.8 knots.. wowee.. I'm flying along now.. Trying to catch flotsam from top of my handling sail just to stay awake.
  24. SSDs are yesterday mate. And your pc build is a joke, I just thought you could benefit from my experience, but clearly not, you're a picnic and that'll be your ongoing downfall. 32 gb of ram.. at best you'll crash from memory leaks less.. that's about the only advantage you'll ever see. You said it. Nobody even writes software for dual cores anymore. The reason ssds are decent is because they are basically ram in drive form. They can generally transfer at the same speed as the bus and ram, at the output of the cpu. Hdds on the other hand might run slower, but can generally hold vast amounts of data and are extremely cheap for doing so. But the new rage.. are micro ssds on a stick. These are even faster than ssds. But such speed isn't really needed for gaming. Esp not for ea's. Like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus series. It's basically a ssd on a card.
  25. Another classic Galleon issue.. wether i'm desync'd or whatever causes this.. it means I can't fire and the crew won't respond to orders. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1796031816
