Are you on a lawless island? I always build double walls as some creatures can phase through or stick their heads inside. but have not had this issues since original release.

Depends on where you lived, on our island in the desert, after they nerfed wolves, it was bloody vultures. Try to harvest a kill...vultures. hit one and you'd be surrounded by 30 in a heartbeat. And for 20 minutes after, every vulture would come from across the zone it seemed, lol.

They went with Tarot because of the popularized association of Voodoo and Tarot. And Voodoo with the more popular romanticized version of Caribbean Pirates. I don't think it's that difficult to understand. And yes, I know Tarot was used in Europe before the New World.

For ship Npc's, I prefer health, you'll want that for Kraken runs. If you want to uses them to kill AOTD on maps, health and some in melee, I reckon. A small herd of cows will work for that as well, so I've heard.

@melcreif Ah, ok. Answer is, no. There is no PvP at all in PVE. Except griefing. I didn't play Ark, I came from Conan Exiles. Conan has a Conflict server. PvP during a certain window of the day but, buildings cannot be damaged. Thralls (NPC's you break on a wheel of pain) and animals can be killed and of course, player on player.

Helluva lot more info available now than at launch. Shoot, even GS provides a new map with EVERYTHING on it. And no, I'm not gonna provide a link, look for it.

Level up any crew you have. You can only have so many lvl 1 crew.

They made changes to alot of islands. As far as that bear, it's possible someone else tried already and for whatever reason stopped, that, in the past, has caused problems for anyone trying after.

I didn't take what you wrote as a personal attack. I was on pve at launch. I'm not talking about any difference between pvp and pve, just the server and game performance. I look back at how many quit or refunded at that launch. I just think they are trying to avoid that with xbox folk. And I can understand that, too. I am not a GS fanboy but, I do think this game has so much potential and I am still hopeful. I have played and enjoyed this game very much and intend on doing so. I have been fortunate in that I have only experienced an apparently small amount of issues that I read about on these forums. If I was an xbox player, I'd rather start a game with fewer issues over starting and being so frustrated that I wouldn't play at all. For a fresh start, play EU. I do now and experience no latency or lag being in NA.

You wouldn't know the horrors of the initial launch. If your buds had to go through that, how many would stay. So, yeah, was probably a wise decision.

They don't want the xbox customers to get turned off the game on launch, like what happened to us. And it's looking like they are having issues now. Soo, yeah, probably a smart move.

Why not play both? Join the NA server and treat it like a PTR. Help with bug reports, etc. You can always leave it to join the EU later.

I hear ya but I think that omitting features to battle griefers that benefited a large player base has already happened. And logic tells me that parking at a claimed base will protect you because claimed islands have tenants that receive that protection, yes? oh, and free beer will bring people back. It would bring me back twice, even though I have never left.

I was talking about parking at a claimed island that is currently under protection. Of course at a Lawless island you could be attacked, makes perfect sense. Freeports would be just abused by griefers attacking and running for protection. They would have to come up with a solution for that.
