  1. I can build bigger, but I'm sticking to Rafts until they get the exploit fixed. It can be nice stumbling on a wreck that's just sitting there. I found one today near a big rock in the middle of nowhere and got 4 Carbines, 6 Flintlock Pistols (and plenty of ammo for both types), 9 or 10 metal tools, silver ingots, several thousand Fiber (I hate collecting that because of the grunting!), 240 gold coins and a lot more stuff. Good times!
  2. Aye, the 30% forward speed even directly against the wind was... ok... I suppose, although tacking was still faster in the long run. However, at the expense of not bing able to turn properly now I wish they'd revert back to the old system. I see quite a lot of Rafts and so forth stuck against people's shipyards, wedged in against the buttresses to snugly they'll never, ever move again. On the sail's radial wheel, 180° should be set to move the boat back slowly, to to sort of simulate being pushed with boathooks or being towed. Not realistic, but it's a game, not a simulation.
  3. The weight exploit would sink the lot in minutes. Nobody has tried... Yet.
  4. 1) Everything you make should be auto-locked on creation and be able to be pin-coded. 2) Armour and melee weaponry need to be useful 3) Weight exploit on ships needs fixing NOW. Just make them too heavy to move as a temporary fix, not take damage.
  5. Opening a bed map did the trick for me, though no idea why.
  6. Well, boats get "level increases" where you can spend points on weight increase, or do I take it you mean on private servers?
  7. Nope. The Lawless zones have reverted to being zones you have to sail to in order to get there, which is what they were originally but were opened up on launch to lessen lag in the Freeport zones. You can't select them as a starter zone any more and only raft/boat beds work there. If you die there with no bed on a raft/boat, you spawn in Freeport again.
  8. I still see trading playing a big part in the game, especially for people like me who much prefer soloing to grouping up with strangers I have nothing in common with and who I wouldn't trust for months even if I did. Some blueprints take two, three or more Metal types, Wood types and so forth, and I'd far rather buy those off someone than spend time going and getting them. Even Wood, Fiber, Thatch are needed in huge quantities for a big building project, and I'd rather buy that in bulk instead of gathering it all on my own. There are things I am not interested in making, so I'd prefer to buy those if I need to rather than spend skill points in a tree I have no interest in. There's always a market for things, you just have to find it.
  9. Honestly, building anything more than a Raft at the moment is fruitless. There was a video on here earlier showing how to sink ships by overloading them - done to get the devs to do something about it - and honestly, build it and you'll lose it even on PvE.
  10. Lawless can only use beds on boats. You cannot start new characters there either. If you bed breaks you have to sail back there.
  11. PvP taking place on a PvP server... Who'd a thunk it!!
  12. You can no longer select one from the map and create a character there or change server to spawn there. If you die there with no bed on a boat or raft you will appear in Freeport. To get back to the Lawless island you have to sail there.
  13. Rafts have the turning circle of an oil tanker now. Getting into anchoring spots is easy... getting out, not so much. It was better before the patch where you could turn slowly but stayed pretty much on the spot. Always moving forward, even directly into the wind, is not always good!
  14. Pfffft, according to Proxas Trading Companies are doomed because he considers the trade in foods to be over. " The fact you can now tame anything with berries and non-specialized things just killed all the cool Trading Co Companies."
  15. Single player is integral to Ark, thus Atlas. When the game launched there was a hidden menu that went to the same game selection screen as Ark, and Single Player was THERE. The hidden menu was quickly removed.
  16. I tamed 5 for the poop so I could make fertilizer and found they lay eggs at a heck of a rate! I tamed them last night, and since then collected over 100 eggs. I don't bother picking them up now. Like fruit, veg and meat they last ages in a Preserving Bag.
  17. +1 most definitely. There are very few spots I have found where I am based that have plants that give the orange vitamin. I really need to grow them.
  18. Single Player would be entirely cost free, having bought the game, and involves no more effort than launching the game and selecting Single Player.
  19. Why anyone even watches Streamers god alone knows. They're a waste of space. ll they want is subscribers and they'll appeal to any sector of the audience so that they get them.
  20. It might work as in Ark. Sit on a mount that is set to Passive and Do Not Follow. Whistle "All Follow" and the other tames will follow that mount whilst the mount will remain where it is. Set all the beasties to Neutral with whistle and then double check the mount is set to Passive. Anything that gets in will be attacked and killed, and after the attack the beasties all go back to the vicinity of the Passive mount.
  21. Inferior foods take longer, some probably a lot longer. People will still want the fastest tame and will be willing to pay for it. I have things I'd like to "buy" from people. Things I can't make, for example such as Weapons and Armour, and more everyday stuff like Gems, Seeds, Salt, Blueprints, other types of Metals and Stone, etc. for blueprints. There's a market for all kind of things. The sky isn't falling yet, yet people insta-complain about it.
  22. I hope they do a single-player game. In Ark I use it to experiment with different builds and try things out, so it's great for learning the ropes for my main characters.
  23. "Everything" amounted to you saying the Devs don't reply and that everyone is complaining about "whatever". Nothing there of note really, as you were just padding out the fact your boat "mysteriously" sunk. There are threads EVERYWHERE in here and on Steam about it. Do you read the forums at all? No, I bet not.
  24. Good lord, another "my boat sank in Freeport" thread... That must be around the 97,000th since launch day.
  25. Simplest fix would be only to allow the owner or fellow members of a Company to get on a ship in the first place.
