It won't matter when the servers are barren. In one month's time they have lost over 30% of their player base... That is really not good from the business perspective or the longevity of the game. Steal? Snail owns Wildcard... It is their own. They did a reskin just like Atlas has done and it didn't work out well that time either. You did notice the airship in the dev kit is the same one from DnL, right? I don't have a problem with asset flips but clearly the community isn't taking it well. A 30% drop of almost 12,000 players is pretty substantial and I can guarantee the devs are taking notice... They need to put more focus on epic ship battles and stop the land grab bullshit.

I'd agree completely with using ice for food preservation but it should have an accelerated decay rate outside of the arctic regions.

I got a nice spot on B6 if you're looking for a home. Misfit Toys on Blaincier island... Top middle of the island with plenty of resources to build all the boats you want.

That's the point... you gotta sail to get salt or trade for it. Cellars were great for storing wine but salt was the only food preservation option in the time period and why most people didn't eat much pork that wasn't salted because there was no other viable way to preserve it. I'm pretty sure we'd all have to sail up to the north or down to the south for ice anyways just as we do for salt now.

Pretty sure they are intended for all food preservation on the boat and in the house.

They can still hang off your ladder and apply weight to your ship... keep ladders up and use T to whistle lowering them.

The fix wasn't bad. Just don't get on someone else's boat or raft. Getting used to not jumping on a raft going ashore took a couple days but now it's not even an issue since most have adjusted to it.

They change wind direction so that can be a big problem running from SotD. Aside from that they don't do much. I had to go out IRL yesterday so I fast traveled in the middle of one assuming I'd lose my slop but when I got home fast traveled back and was fine right where I left it.

Lawless is a nice place to settle but getting annoyed by all the foundations company Snu Snu is putting up everywhere. I think you should have to be close to foundations to reset the timer so we can start removing some of them when they're all over the map. I never see these guys but there are a good 10-20 around my house and never see them anywhere by me.

I'm dodging Ships of the dammed (SotD) 75% of the time I'm sailing. The most annoying is when you go through a border wall and zone into 2-3 right at the transition... insta RIP But that's also what makes it a challenge. I did figure out a trick that sometimes works... Full throttle into the back of them where they can't shoot you and when you get a clear path turn with the wind. I use two speed sails so I can outrun them as long as I zigzag a bit I get out with minimal damage.

I'm a solo living in lawless and have been enjoying slooping it around the map finding mats and seeds that aren't in my area avoiding SotD and waterspouts as I make my way back home loaded with good. It's a lot more challenging when you're all alone in the middle of the ocean running from SotD 5+ zones from home and getting caught in a storm. I have lost hours of farming and sailing to the damned and I've made it back with good hauls feeling like I accomplished something. Sometimes it would be nice to be spoon fed some quest content and others I like doing my own thing but in the end the game is what you make of it.

I was thinking more along the lines of paying for time. You pay up front for a set time and can extend that time if it runs out or just rent for an extended period up front. This would take some brainstorming on how to set up initially but it's the only way I could see it kind of working without having any sort of a system that protects the renter from the property owner.

For such things to work there needs to be a governing body to mediate evictions and disputes, just as there is in the real world. Without any sort of protection from the "elite class" there will always be those that take advantage of the plebs and therefor chaos by those that will not bend the knee because there is no benefit to the action, only vulnerability.

Should be NPC ships that we can raid and claim... Pirates didn't build ships, they stole them. Give us NPCs to raid for their ships when we are on our rafts. The bigger the ship the harder it is to raid.

Foundations don't block resources in lawless anymore. I have a rock that constantly re-spawns in the corner of my house that I farm from inside.

Normally I would say don't be a dick in game but since the land grab system is complete bullshit... BRING FORTH THE ASSHATTERY!
