  1. Yup, you have problems with it and come complain here, I have no problems, in fact the latest 'fix' made the sweet spot so big on some animals that it's so easy it's boring. So yes skill is a factor. Devs: please revert to previous version. as it is now it's very little challenge, again you're catering to the lowest denominator.
  2. sweet spot has been increased, some are ridiculously easy now.
  3. So knocking something out and feeding it while asleep, so when it wakes up it somehow knew who was feeding it, and is now your friend is more to your taste. fair enough. I though ark taming was boring, knock it out, stuff it full of food and drugs, twiddle your thumbs until done. At least this system requires some action and precision, the better you get at it the better levels you get. You are rewarded for skill rather than having the right kibble.

  5. Agree, it's amazing that people still havent figured out this simple system yet. 1 meat, 1 fish, 5 cooking herbs, 5 berry's. Very easy should be up and ready before you leave a freeport. 1 meat, 1 milk, 1 Potato (or other crop), 5 berry's. when you start growing your own and tame a cow. 1 pork pie, 1 fish 'n' chips. when you learn how to cook. Food and vitamins sorted, a little effort, yes, but this is a survival game.
  6. Why? Why do you have to be the sole person in charge, They've set up a governor and tenant system, with lawless for people like you. Thats the game, it's fit's the pirate theme you want in the game, it fit's the real life south sea's of that era. Why would they not try to replicate it in thier game?

  8. I'm not. The system has a some issues. It's also not as I would have done the whole one island claim system. But it thematicaly fits the game very well. I've followed these forums and played the game from the start, and any suggestions i make I try to keep within the framework of whats in the game already and along the path I believe the Dev's are going.
  9. He has read and there are as many detractors as supporters for the current system on these forums. And as human nature dictates you are more likely to speak out to complain than to praise, that tends to lead one to believe more people like this system than not.
  10. The new system is great. We are tenants on an island we could not afford and have been here since day 1. A group came along and claimed the island on day 3, wen't and met them, they were nice people, we told them we were at a particular beach, they were fine with that and the only rule they had was not to pillar / foundation spam. We have expanded our base and are farming for a new dock. They could demo our stuff, but they won't. We could pillar / foundation spam, but we won't We could build huge ugly gate walls blocking resources and routes around the island, but we won't because they are not dicks and nor are we. We are situated in a very nice spot, good resources, good tames. 4 different biomes within 2 grids of travel giving easy access to farm for good BP's. This is a pirate themed game, and this system fits well within that. Claimed Islands with governors and lawless islands. And for those who's ego's get in the way of ever having someone above them on the ladder "grow up".
  11. L5 freeport has wheat-grass right next to the town, look for the wooden broken dock it's right by it.
  12. Why go to lawless, way more space on claimed land. Try communicating with people in the game it is multiplayer, find that governor that want's people to increase his tax timer. They will build ramps and routes up to those hard to reach resources, won't cost you anything and they'll get some taxes to compensate. Who'd of thought an MMO where communication and cooperation is a requirement for getting better faster. (Do you recall the plans they had for lawless? that didn't make it into the game yet. It might still be coming).

  14. Source? I'm quite happy to be a tenant, the island we aimed for had a cost higher than our company had. When someone turned up and claimed the island, i just asked if our being here would be ok, they said yes. It's been fine ever since. +1 for current system, Needs a few tweeks in my opinion but good so far.
  15. All true, I use full plate for taming. can't find sweet spot. - you can see bola timer and get to learn feed interval, time it. duck in and out to feed. It's not easy. but who want to knock it out stuff food in it's inventory and go watch Utube until its done
  16. I've always pressed "E" while hovering cursor over the jug.
  17. Before wipe we had a garden with all plants, every couple of weeks i'd do a large batch of pork pies and fish and chips for the company. It took about an hour or so. A few more viable combinations food and drink for all vitamins would be nice, but time wise and cost is ok.
  18. I wouldn't mind traveling to get water like any other resource, but pouring a jug of water into a single barrel 30 times is too much. (if it doesn't bug out and refuse to fill) If they sorted water transportation a little better I'll be happy to deal with it. "Water for sale, Get your fresh water here!" Edit: and sort out the resevour while we're at it, having the same capacity as a jug is dumb.
  19. Unintended consequence of the new tax system is you can't look at the atlas map and see which islands have bad landlords (50% Tax). Was quite handy when traveling, added to your descision making of where to stop to gather / get tames / or base build to know who was reasonable and who wasn't. Also was quite pleasing to anounce in global chat that you were throwing 3 maps overboard as island tax was 50%, and island next door would get our custom (2 maps) as thier's was only 25%.
  20. 24 water jars, 2 shovels and an ostrich = my water gatering solution until this gets fixed. It's actualy not too bad 10-15 mins for a 3/4 filled barrel.
  21. BP's require you to have the skill to make item first. Each has 2x, 3x ect before the material requirement, as Debruns said 2x metal for example needs Tin + Copper or any two different metals, same for the other mats. Generic material don't count, the type you get from demolishing structures. Also BP needs to be in the correct crafting station. Most regions only have 1 type of each material. I check the wiki to find other types close by. (New map has not changed this to my knowledge, mats are still available from the same places.)
  22. 1. Do you want to keep new claim system ? Yes, may need tweeking as it's a new system. 2. Do you want old claim system back ? No, It was shit, easily exploited with too many bugs. Sort out your biased poll, or delete it.
  23. What's stupid is trying to squeeze a mega onto a server designed to exclude them. You either A) Are afraid of fighting companies of equal size. B) like overwelming / unfair odds when fighting. C) unwilling to admit mega's are such a small minority that any server designed for them will be empty.
  24. All they have to do now is monitor and tweek the upkeep so that it's hard to maintain an island without a big group or settlers to reduce the cost. but you can't do that before things settle down, so i'm happy to wait. Remember to bin the maps for islands with 40-50% taxes.
  25. Yer, A cap of 50 is way too low for the Empire server, it's ment to be free form PVP for large companies so a limit on companies is stupid.
