  1. When cooking recipes that require a Grain (Maize or Wheat) and generic Veggies, the cooking will consume Grains as veggies. Example: Bubble & Squeek requires 10 Grains and 3 veg. When cooking, it will consume 13 grains, and 0 veg. Please correct the cooking recipes to not consume Grains in place of Veggies.
  2. Bug: Some cooked food do not provide vitamin increase in respective areas. Server: NA PVP Colonies Grid: global Have so far tested rosemary chicken and similar level foods and these only give a increase of food in one area. For example rosemary chicken gives only vitamin D and not Vitamin A as its suppose to. Also appears that some buffs may not be working as intended for certain foods but have not yet tested myself only what others have said.
  3. Right now, some things regarding cooking needs to be addressed. 1)The cost is a little bit over the top, given a recipe requires a lot of different ingredients. So decrease the cost a little across the board. 2)Make the produced recipies produce 2 plates instead of one 3)Make water jars count as 20 units of water if they are filled 4)Make chicken produce more than one egg at a time.
  4. Not sure if this have been suggested before. My idea how to fix this annoying system, easy, without making us able to hook up grills with water pipes. Basic Cooking: New Crafting Recipe: "Boiled Water" Requires 1 Waterskin/Jar: Crafts 10 "Boling Water" Boling water counts as normal water when crafting. Stacks. Can't drink, Can't remove from crafting station. Can't craft with boling water. Heck maybe even add decay to the boiled water. PS: pretty easy fix, no? And fit the game theme, more then hooking up grills with water pipes.
  5. I've been doing a lot of testing with the cooking skill tree and it's pretty terrible. For those interested, I created the video below to showcase what the unthinkable delicacy does and my thoughts on it. TL;DW - it buffs your vitamins and food/water. That's it! It costs 41 skill points to get up to the unthinkable delicacy. That's the same number of points needed to get the mortar in the artillery tree. Many of the other cooking skills give you buffs but also give you debuffs at the same time, making the required skill points and ingredients not worth the hassle. I think cooking needs to be reworked from the ground up. Perhaps we can get more meaningful buffs, or keep the current buffs but make them last 6 hours instead of 10 minutes.

I am bumping some points made on a previous post, mainly because it fells like cooking is being overlooked The Situation Right now, cooking takes a lot of time and the produced result is not what it would be expected for the time spent. If someone wishes to keep up with the production of a mid sized group, he/she has to spend about 2 hours cooking. Moreover the resources (mainly the animal and fish meat, but also some herbs - for example rosemary) are eathier tedious to find, or get wasted to something else. The Point The reason of this post is that nobody should do daily 2 hours of playtime for something that is a little bit tedious and generally unsatisfying. Cooks should not play to cook daily in game, but they should play to have fun and travel around. The fix Below is a list of some suggestions that would help the lives of us cooks, the undervalues proffesion. 1)Decrease the amount of resourices need for some recipies (mainly Meat, Fish and Eggs) 2)Increase the amount of produced result (either x2 or x3) 3)Address the issue of the raw meat getting slowly cooked, meaning that you end up wasting a lot of resources as raw meat is one of the most used ingredients. 4)Up the egg production, or add a coop. Multiply the amount of eggs you take or increase the decomposition time of the eggs. 5)Up the rosemary gatherin rate. Right now it sucks 6)Make Jars hold 200 units of water, instead of 1 that is now. 7)Increase the spoil time of the dishes 8)Increase the size of stacks, especially the ones that are only 5.

    Would like to see a few more simple recipes.....Beans and Rice, Stew, Porridge, Dirty Rice, Fish soup, Chicken and Rice / also maybe a long term dry storage for grains and beans maybe a barrel that can be sealed with wax from the honey or sap..... Maybe a rum recipe with a fermenting stage in the barrel (sealed)..more age more powerful? a grindstone to make flour.......corn flour , wheat flour, rice flour with eggs/milk - bread / flatbread possible herb garden? Ingame spice trader that would travel and anchor to trade Port Royal Shipping Company???

    cooking Cooking bug.

    The grill requires you to have the fire on to cook recipes. if the recipe requires meat, raw meat is cooked while recipe is being made which leaves you unable to complete some recipes. Super annoying
  9. Crafted Monarch's Cakes and Meat Pies this morning. In your personal inventory, they have a 30-minute spoil timer. In the preserving bag, it states the timer is 18 hours, but they both still spoiled in 30 minutes. The mess table was also not applying its extended spoiler timer. If you watch the timer it is counting down normally, but leave the preserving bag and come back, there will be a big drop in time. Has anyone else noted this bug?
  10. As the topic states, this if about farming, cooking, and food preservation. Starting with Farming: First: Crop plot placement requirements are way to far apart. It’s like a 6 inch gap on all sides as the closest they can be to each other. While wanting to have more space it also doesn’t look pretty (for those of us who like it to look nice and tight). Second: Harvesting. Don’t get me wrong the yield is nice, however it’s the same weather I do it (fully speced), the bonus mini-game, a company member does it (non-spec), making the points I put into the bonus useless, as well as not needing to do the mini-game (which I personally do enjoy). Third: Tundra Rock doesn’t work. When I place a crop plot on wood or thatch I get the “tundra thatch or wood”, on stone it says “tundra rock”, but when I click to plant seed it says “no seeds available”. If it’s not meant to be on stone foundations fine but make it where you can’t place them on stone floors. Fourth: Water Tanks. Where we live it rains enough that we don’t need water tanks, however I made a bunch to be able to fill skins and water jugs, however the water barrels hold I think (500-600 water), where as the tanks only hold 200. Thats not a lot of water for a water tank when I could just make barrels that take up 1/4 of the space and hold 3x the amount. I like the reservoirs because you can pipe them unlike the barrels but it’s not worth the space with such a tiny amount of water it holds. Lastly: Fertlizer. I love that I can just craft it but there are 4 types of poop, human, small, medium, and large. I’d like to be able to take a large poop with like 150 thatch to make a bigger bag of fertilizer than have all the sizes make one size. I don’t mind if it cost more thatch for bigger bags but it makes picking up bigger poops more useful. I have PIGs but still when you feed your tames and they poop might as well use grab it and craft a bag of fertilizer. i think that’s about it on farming. I like the idea of it and that you can’t grow everything in one zone or on one surface but there are a few things that need to be adjusted. Cooking: I know there are plans to work on this and change it. A few things to make sure they aren’t forgotten. First: Meat. Animal meat is used in some recipes however in the grill it autocrafts making you have to put double in the grill so you can make your food while the other half turns into cooked meat. Also, can you make cooked prime fish meat look different in the UI then the raw prime fish meat because currently they look exactly the same, even if it’s just making the cooked a different color on the UI would be nice. Secondly: Water. Unless you live on an island with fresh water, getting water requires tanks and barrels. Not a huge deal because there’s decent rain fall in our area (I can’t speak for all zones), however, the waterskin and the water jug (even though one holds more) gets 1 use per recipe. If I can use the water jug 3 times to drink from why can’t it get 3 uses in cooking? That’s about all I’m going to say right now as it has been said the plans to rework it just a couple of things I hope you consider as well. Finally Food Preservation: Preserving Bags are cute and I love them, however they are small and don’t hold much, you can upgrade to the food lodder that holds more however I can’t put salt in it, and while it does have a decent life span it’s not comparable to the preserving bag, especially on custom foods like hot cocoa, which only stacks to 5 and has a 6 hour life span in the bag. I’d love to be able to put preserving salt in the food lodder to add to the life span or given a bigger preserve bag. Feeding troughs do not have a long enough life span on meat. Berries stack to 100 so it’s not as noticeable how fast they expire, but the meat spoils so fast. If either the time is longer OR we can put preserving salt in there to increase it that would be fine as well. Spoiled Meat has zero purpose in the game, can we make when meat spoils it’s like berries and just vanishes. You spend 5-10 mins a day while playing just chucking rotten meat out of bags, troughs, in your inventory etc. it’s space consuming with no purpose. i think that’s all I have to say as these are important aspects in the game that I enjoy, farming and cooking, plus caring for our animals and ship crew. So I hope you consider some of my ideas. Thanks ChickFabulous! P.s. please make bolas stack! And a bigger storage beside large storage boxes. Even in Pirates of the Caribbean they had vaults lol.
  11. Could we please get some basic cooking recipes for cooking meat. As a cook I find it very frustrating that my animal meat cooks before i can use it in a recipe. Also, a recipe for salted meat and fish? Not just leaving it in the sack will do. Finally I would like to add, a Jerky style for meat and fish, where using garlic, onion and maybe something else you can make a far better, less salty meat? Lastly, a Supreme version of these recipes for the prime meat and fish? Thank you!
  12. The amount of resources that get used for cooking the recipies does not justify the produced amount. It is very hard as of now to keep up on producing a decent amount of food in order to keep up with the demands of a mid sized company, unless you farm for 3-4 hours every day. This results to people still choosing to die for a fast reset, as opposed to take the time and stock the ships with food, because it is limitted But because the purpose of this game is not to actually farm endlessly, but to pvp, blow things up, kill people (or die trying)and/or build bases/towns, I would like to recommend the following changes. 1)Decrease the amount of resources needed for some recipies AND/OR increase the quantity of the produced result 2)Up the amount of meat gathered from certain animals, as a lot of recipes need fresh meat that in turn gets turned to cooked meat passively 3)Increase the size of stacks, especially on the food like Steve's Stuffed & Baked fish that stack only until 5. 4)Up eggs production rate, maybe to two 5)Make Jars (and only jars) hold 200 units of water as quantities, as opposed to 1 that is now. 6)The fresh meat that is going to be produced for recipies, to be excluded from passive cooking, or change all the recipies to use cooked meat. On a side note, the water pipe system changes are very good, with a single flaw as of now. On a chain of underground water pipe system, if a pillar gets destroyed, the chain gets broken and simply replacing the missing link will not fix the system(a red line connection will appear to the unwatered pillar). Even though there is a small work around to bypass this problem, I suggest that this bug to be addressed and make fixing easier (I don't want to be constantly an Atlas Water Company all the time :P )
  13. As we are now are (finally able) to start producing higher tier food, it still seems that cooking is a little bit too time consuming. Moreover, there are some slight changes that can help when cooking. 1)Double or Triple the amount of dishes that you produce each craft 2)Give the option to craft the recipies wihtout raw meat that was going to be used for the recipies, turning into cooked meat. This is a waste of resource. Alternatively, give recipies that require cooked meat instead of raw meat

    CELERY Listed as a cooking herb in offical atlas wiki. Is Celery a cooking herb or vegetable? It have no seeds thus you can't plant it, but when used in cooking, it don't count as a cooking herb but as vegetable. And I thought every vegetable you use in cooking need to be grown in farming to be used in cooking (aka no wild).
