  1. This first photo is of our Barn. It's 12 stories high with a very open top floor, All the floors are 4 walls tall, then on the top it's a roof designed for a higher opening for giraffes. The first picture is to give you an idea of where the tames were before we logged on. On the 1st floor was our elephants/bears/ostriches, on the 2nd floor was our rhinos. The 2nd & 3rd picture you will see where our tames were. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1640439426 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1640439414 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1640439394
  2. idk where he came from but he's not really there.
  3. I very rarely get this mad at a game that I truly love to play. In the last 24 hours I’ve stop being a pirate and turned into a keyboard warrior, tweeting and posting on the forums because I’m angry and insulted by the devs. I love atlas, I played potc years ago and man it was fun, this was bringing back nostalgia and I loved it. This game is EA so there’s going to be bugs and issues cool I get it, but this stone crafting change has no place in this game and given the patch notes you don’t care about the 800 plus comment thread, or the countless other threads, reddit post, or tweets you’ve gotten. If you want to put metal in fine add 5 metal whatever, you’re ignoring the organic paste issue and you aren’t getting WHY it’s an issue. You are forcing 100s upon 100s of players to travel multiple grids to farm paste. You have to make it there because SAP weighs a ton, compared to it in paste form. So my hours of wanting to explore after base building a few hours a day is gone. Because I now get to waste my time going to farm paste. You made mistake and can fix it, the community has voiced their opinions and you do not care. Ill play atlas but im done recommending this game to anyone. I will not defend this game when you spit in our face and made it clear you don’t care what the community says. Best way to put it, you’re like a little kid who invites his friends over to play a game BUT you make all the rules, you make all the decisions, right wrong or indifferent, then wonder why no one wants to play with you anymore.
  4. Same. We built our barn on Pillars because of the excessive spawns at the time and because stuff was spawning in the base, so we raised it off the ground. Now everytime I log on there's at least one tame half way through the floor (mostly the elephants), and occasionally a bear will be on the actual ground outside under the pen, even though I logged out with him inside.
  5. We live in D13 and lately there has been almost a non-stop set of Fog and half the time there's no Fog indicator in the bottom right. I don't mind Fog but we had Fog for almost 4 1/2 hours yesterday.
  6. @Jatheish I respect how much you are doing to keep the community updates and informed, I know you respond to tweets and forum post, but let's be honest you are one man, and there is basically aside from you NO ONE handling community post, comments, etc. You guys really need to hire a group of people to read the threads, comply a list and have conversations with them about what the community is saying. One person can not do that all. There is a thread with almost 700 replies on the outrage of stone changes, and yet there's not even a single acknowledgement of "we hear you" or "we're looking into it". It's complete silence. Some people will leave completely even if it gets changed back to the original. There has to be some sort of line of communication. Also, why don't you guys once and for all make a TEST server, and get some people to actually test out changes you guys are thinking of implementing. It is not a hard concept to do, a LOT of companies do it. It helps find bugs, or tester can say "hey this isn't going to work" or "this is way to far scaled this way". Instead of just pushing it out and hoping it's going to be okay. You guys are in EA and of course there will be bugs/issues, no matter what, but you can curb those if you take the time to get community managers to look at the threads and say "hey this is coming up a lot" or "here's some issues people are bringing up", "hey were getting a lot of suggestions for this". Listen to your community and for the love of god get a TEST server, and get some people who would LOVE to hop on and test out changes you are working on.
  7. Agreed. It's beyond unfair. Jat tweeted that they couldn't retroactive it, but I'm sorry you could of figured something out before implementing this. There's just no thought going into these changes. The stone structure was just as bad. This is by far one of the worst patches.
  8. It's less about the gates, and more about actual stone buildings. If they want to leave the paste on the gates fine, but for stone buildings, again completely ruins the game for those in 40% of the map that doesn't have Sap makes it way to hard to live there and upgrade. That's my issue
  9. LOL RIGHT! I get making it easier to hit max level but man those of us who spent 30, 40, 50 hours sailing around getting discoveries to have them not be retroactive to the new update is just like a slap in the face.
  10. If people want a gates base they should be allowed to. But adding Organic paste to the crafting makes it like I said a HUGE chore in the Tundra/Arctic where there is no sap at all. The time companies especially small ones who live in those zones get a big disadvantage. You''ll have to spend hours sailing and crafting away from base to come back and then be able to craft stone.
  11. There have been A LOT of people who put in a lot of time to sail around and get Discoveries and for you to not make it retroactive is completely unfair. It's really insulting to those who have put in countless hours sailing around to up their max level only to basically have someone with less time/discoveries be at the same level as you. Please tell me you can't see the unfair and kinda of insulting thing this is to players who put in all that time and effort.
  12. Yeah I get the spam but on PVP you can blow them up. But NO where in the tundra is Sap. So about 30-40% of the zones you have to sail far to get Paste for Fur THEN let's add Paste & Metal to Stone building cost? It makes it building in the Tundra a chore now, not that it wasn't already. I don't mind the Alloy cost added to gates but the O. Paste
  13. Agreed 100%. If you live in the Tundra you are 100% screwed, also 420 organic paste for the Large Stone Gates????? Was there any thought put into this? I love this game but for real are you INSANE with this change?
  14. There are some game sounds that are SUPER LOUD and some that are extremely obnoxious I guess is the way to put it. Loud: Elevators are so loud on starting & stopping. I'm pretty sure people on other islands can hear me using it lol. Food Lodders also extremely loud every time you open them it's just deafening. Weird: When I'm out of water on my female character it sounds like she's have trouble breathing and it's like this very just odd noise, like if I'm out of water I'm not instantly going to freak out and sound like that, and the males sound like he's trying to push a poop out. Like grrrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrr grrrrrrrrr while the females just ran a mile and forgotten her inhaler. Same with when you're hungry there's just this over dramatic noise coming from the characters like it is not that serious. The Turtles sound like something evil that is about to kill you like a wolf or lion LOL. He's like hissssssssssssss snarl. Fixing a boat mini game with the Cheer or hmmmph. Like idk why this is needed lol. It's just so random. I am really enjoying this game, ya'll were amazing changing the large gates sounds lol, so hopefully we can get some noise quietness on the other things :D.
  15. Last night on Tirtul13's stream you can see an elephant starts to fly up and keeps going.
  16. I'm not to familiar with the Arctic, but we're in the Tundra (super cold), and we have 14 things we can grow. So far i've found I can't grow chickpeas, cactus, and I can't remember the other one but just those three I've found that don't like the cold. I've found some stuff while mostly temperate, there is Tundra Thatch it can be grown on, but again idk your exactly what your zone is. Thanks everyone who has responded. I really am enjoying this game and looking forward to upcoming changes they plan, and hope some of my ideas are considered. I try to keep it positive and not make a post that's complaining, seems to be plenty of that already going on. I think it's more helpful to make suggestions and why you'd like that versus being upset or mad about it, and hope the devs look at them and consider them. I hope they add a suggestions thread. . Thanks All! For the responses, and input. Also, I few have mentioned that they usually just die to reset their vitamins. I agree currently unless someone is taking the time on custom food it is a bit of a pain to eat 4 types of food, and not over eat, making dying easier, as well as traveling to a bed to another area it resets all your vitamins, making working on the buff kinda of useless if you're fast traveling a lot.
  17. Yes I have many resource boxes. I mean for the basic items and blueprints would be nice having a larger storage for those that don’t go into the resource box.
  18. As the topic states, this if about farming, cooking, and food preservation. Starting with Farming: First: Crop plot placement requirements are way to far apart. It’s like a 6 inch gap on all sides as the closest they can be to each other. While wanting to have more space it also doesn’t look pretty (for those of us who like it to look nice and tight). Second: Harvesting. Don’t get me wrong the yield is nice, however it’s the same weather I do it (fully speced), the bonus mini-game, a company member does it (non-spec), making the points I put into the bonus useless, as well as not needing to do the mini-game (which I personally do enjoy). Third: Tundra Rock doesn’t work. When I place a crop plot on wood or thatch I get the “tundra thatch or wood”, on stone it says “tundra rock”, but when I click to plant seed it says “no seeds available”. If it’s not meant to be on stone foundations fine but make it where you can’t place them on stone floors. Fourth: Water Tanks. Where we live it rains enough that we don’t need water tanks, however I made a bunch to be able to fill skins and water jugs, however the water barrels hold I think (500-600 water), where as the tanks only hold 200. Thats not a lot of water for a water tank when I could just make barrels that take up 1/4 of the space and hold 3x the amount. I like the reservoirs because you can pipe them unlike the barrels but it’s not worth the space with such a tiny amount of water it holds. Lastly: Fertlizer. I love that I can just craft it but there are 4 types of poop, human, small, medium, and large. I’d like to be able to take a large poop with like 150 thatch to make a bigger bag of fertilizer than have all the sizes make one size. I don’t mind if it cost more thatch for bigger bags but it makes picking up bigger poops more useful. I have PIGs but still when you feed your tames and they poop might as well use grab it and craft a bag of fertilizer. i think that’s about it on farming. I like the idea of it and that you can’t grow everything in one zone or on one surface but there are a few things that need to be adjusted. Cooking: I know there are plans to work on this and change it. A few things to make sure they aren’t forgotten. First: Meat. Animal meat is used in some recipes however in the grill it autocrafts making you have to put double in the grill so you can make your food while the other half turns into cooked meat. Also, can you make cooked prime fish meat look different in the UI then the raw prime fish meat because currently they look exactly the same, even if it’s just making the cooked a different color on the UI would be nice. Secondly: Water. Unless you live on an island with fresh water, getting water requires tanks and barrels. Not a huge deal because there’s decent rain fall in our area (I can’t speak for all zones), however, the waterskin and the water jug (even though one holds more) gets 1 use per recipe. If I can use the water jug 3 times to drink from why can’t it get 3 uses in cooking? That’s about all I’m going to say right now as it has been said the plans to rework it just a couple of things I hope you consider as well. Finally Food Preservation: Preserving Bags are cute and I love them, however they are small and don’t hold much, you can upgrade to the food lodder that holds more however I can’t put salt in it, and while it does have a decent life span it’s not comparable to the preserving bag, especially on custom foods like hot cocoa, which only stacks to 5 and has a 6 hour life span in the bag. I’d love to be able to put preserving salt in the food lodder to add to the life span or given a bigger preserve bag. Feeding troughs do not have a long enough life span on meat. Berries stack to 100 so it’s not as noticeable how fast they expire, but the meat spoils so fast. If either the time is longer OR we can put preserving salt in there to increase it that would be fine as well. Spoiled Meat has zero purpose in the game, can we make when meat spoils it’s like berries and just vanishes. You spend 5-10 mins a day while playing just chucking rotten meat out of bags, troughs, in your inventory etc. it’s space consuming with no purpose. i think that’s all I have to say as these are important aspects in the game that I enjoy, farming and cooking, plus caring for our animals and ship crew. So I hope you consider some of my ideas. Thanks ChickFabulous! P.s. please make bolas stack! And a bigger storage beside large storage boxes. Even in Pirates of the Caribbean they had vaults lol.
  19. Farming & Food Preserving: 1) Currently I am fully speced in the entire farming line with all the bonuses. I have 3 crop plots of turnips and beets. Weather I use the shovel and do the mini-game or not my yield is always 150-180 total for both crops. Making the mini-game useless, as well my husband who had no points in any farming also gets the same harvest yield. Also, having to place crop plots on different structures to be able to grow or in the actual water (this is annoying in the winter regions). 2) Will places that don’t have fresh water to pipe ever get an ability to make a well? Because we currently have 15 water reservoirs we use to fill up about 30 water skins and cooking recipes that take water you just have to wait for more rain. 3) Food Lodders, feed troughs and preserve bags. Food lodders & troughs rot meat and food so fast, I’m constantly having to refill meat in the trough every few hours because of how fast it rots. The space in preserve bags is so tiny. I have just walls of bags because of how much yield we get from our crops (not complaining), sure we can make a lodder that holds more but it spoils so fast it’s not worth it. 4) Can we please make bolas stack. Taming is already a nightmare, between the excessive spawns, vultures, the 3% per feed with the best food & bonus to taming, the “knocked out” tame in progress trying to kill you, you’re sitting here with 3 boxes holding 45 bolas each because they don’t stack at all. 5) building item carry weight is excessive. I have 400 carry weight which I can carry about 13 pillars and 10 ceilings (will edit for exact) of stone. When you’re building a massive base. I understand making it more realistic but my goodness the weight on stuff is so extreme. I understand the alloy cost change to stone gates and doors (they were cheap to make before trust I know I made a ton). 6) Taming has some cool ideas but let’s be honest it is truly an awful experience most of the time and being honest it’s a nightmare. Bolas don’t stack, you have to lower its health several times (not a bad concept), feed at 1-5% at best per, kill all the aggro around constantly, it attacks you while feeding (I don’t understand why this is a thing), if they have a friend nearby it’ll attack you, then after you tame it you have to swim it to your boat (not a big deal) but hope it doesn’t fly off (lost 2 tames because they just decided to fly off the boat into the water that now suddenly has 3+ sharks). I think the rest I was going to ask has been asked.
  20. I first want to say I appreciate how much they are doing and working to fix/change to balance the game. Especially the farming/resource gathering/taming rates. I'm also really glad to see the upcoming fixes to claims on PVE which is a bit brutal for small companies, and not having to drop everything every 2 mins to go contest someone trying to steal a claim lol. (Quick bug report) Nature's Cry 1 works great, but 2 & 3 do not add a buff at all. (that's the only bug i have to report) The biggest Suggestion is the FOOD more specific the recipes. I don't mind that they take a lot of ingredients, the biggest issue is, yesterday after sailing for 18 hours over 2 days exploring and finding materials not available in our region, we found cocoa, sugar, and salt. When we got back to base I decided to make hot cocoa. The ingredients amount I don't mind because of what it offers. The biggest problem is after the amount of hours it takes to get all of these items, for it 1) to only stack to 5 and 2) In the preserving bag last 2 hours. So after taking this long haul, unless I plan on consuming pretty much when I make it or a short time sooner, it makes wanting to cook recipes (while they add to 2 vitamins & a heal) really not wanting to make anything. If you could please increase the stack sizes & time lasting in a preserving bag it would be nice, because right now the cost/time put into making these isn't worth it with the bad stack size/spoil timer.
  21. Ugh . We put so much work into this boat too. Lots of farming for 5 ppl. hope they fix it before either of us loses our ships
  22. We took our schooner out for a farming session and I think we’re in C12 (not 100%). After the update when we got on the boat it will not move at all. It isn’t anchored, we are in open water, there is nothing under the boat, sails open or closed it will not move at all. Fully repaired the boat to make sure that wasn’t an issue. Sails are full health. Weight is 4K/6k Weve spent over an hour trying to move it. It will not budge. my biggest issue is we are all tired and the boat slowly decays, I don’t want to log on tomorrow to a boat that isn’t there because it decayed because it’s in open water.
