  1. Exactly. That's what I was trying to point out above I can easily snipe your defenses, or send in tames etc to find tour interior defenses and just go around them. It wouldn't be hard or take much extra time. If I want to get in I will. There is no competition in offlining and as you said it's certainly not PvP. I don't see it's place in a game you want to be competitive. If you don't want it to be competitive then it won't be long to see your goal of one company ruling the world. Instead of it being epic fights though it will just be who can offline the most people.
  2. Exactly. There can be a system that can't be aleasily abused. It would be better than investing hours into a game that has poor design to protect it when you can't even play. I get how offline raid defense works I came from ark but it's a stupid system and it's a lot easier to have multiple bases or even start over again on ark than this game.
  3. That will happen anyways. As of now what safe system do you have for trade. If you go to other servers advertising your good, then your just broadcasting to pirates to come rob you. There should be a server wide trade type house atleast but it in Freeport if you expect people to travel. However as it is if I have to sail out to trade anyways then why wouldn't I just go gather what I need?
  4. Lol so how does that stop a raid? Your basically saying hide them indoors. That means they already raided you you just slowing them down now. That's not a defensive option as much as it is buying time and if I can't smoke them in sure I can find a worm around. Such as explovises or draining ammo in some fashion.

  6. After reading this post I'm actually more confused. How is this like fortnite at all? I have never built a decent ship in the time it takes to play a fornite match but you can definitely lose a ship faster than you can even thank the bus driver.....
  7. Exactly you set a pin for what reason? Your tribe doesn't need it and per.issions that allow allies, tribe, or admins only would fix this. Also why can't their be tiers to company's other than just admin for permissions?

  9. It helps with hope that they are atleast acknowledging a problem. I wouod like to know what they plan to further address the issue when they say "long term".

  11. That doesn't stop them from flooding your server so you cant spawn at a bed. Also if this truly was pirates it would be small scale, a large company and fleet would be more like the navy.

  13. Exactly, they have also neglected to implement any type of balance to their game that I feel even a new developer wouldn't have overlooked, nevermind a development team that has "learned from their mistakes".
  14. Then they gotta do upkeep to stop the zergs or have only zergs playing it sounds that simple. Also the whole private server thing sounds unrealistic and this game was also sold as an mmo and that doesnt usually work so well on a private.
  15. This is the actual funniest thing to me, these megas would be like the governments tying to stop pirates, and the pirates would actually be the smaller company's complaining.
  16. 30+ isnt enough, a few hundred is hardly enough. You need multiple server presence. One of the current zerg tactics is to "flood" your server with so many players that you cant even re-spawn at your own bed and defend a raid. The limits of their own system are causing an issue and unless there is some checks and balances put into the game it will just stay an unbalanced zerg fest of a mess that just fight and grief eachother all the time. I don't want to play in a mega tribe and when grapeshot said "we learned from ark" I didn't expect this to already be the state of the game.

  18. Yeah I agree and have had to make the decision plenty of times. It's just frustrating cause this isnt what I feel I was sold from a company that says "they learned a lot from ark" um what exactly was the lesson? They are repeating all the exact same problems as ark and sold us more or less the exact same game, except instead of obelisks to travel servers you have a long ass sea voyage instead, on top of that larger companys/tribes than you could ever imagine in ark.
  19. I agree that I have hope, but one can only hold out hope so long. A little too late is a saying for a reason, and I feel like their lack of planning for the balance of this game is going to kill it before they can get running. Unfortuantely after all the massive issues it would take a major about face to save the current players that no ammount of hope on our part can even start to help the problem. Once the zerg companys unleash they will wipe everyone clean and the majority didnt buy the game to be a worker bee in a mega company or to live on a raft for weeks in lawless or starter zones. Poor mechanics and poorly implemented design choices that you can't save unless you make a 180 before the next game comes out and everyone forgets atlas was ever a waste of $25.
  20. If they don't they will have to somehow get their players back instead of just retain them from here out.
  21. Yeah exactly this, I didn't know I signed up for a hive minded experience. Also the devs need to get out of their ark logic and stop applying it to this game. It doesn't matter if they want 1000 person companys or 10 as a dev, without some form of balance the game as is will not remain playable for the majority and that means soon the fun stops for all.
  22. Some ideas in this post feel like they are more on the right track to a solution to the problem than just a set limit on flags per compnay or member solution. I fully support some type of cost based system that grows with claim size. Along with that if you can then all plots that also have a rent type up keep for smaller companys and things to live there and still help but keep an identity and play how they want, would be an overall really good solution to the current problem. However without some type of faction system for pvp or something then there is nothing stoping you from being raided by the clan leasing the area to you.
  23. These are all extremely valid points. The skill tree just looks like a jumbled mess of ideas slapped together without much thought as to their actual purpose or function. Like every time a new idea popped up you just slapped it in the middle of whatever tree you were working on then branched off from there. It needs scrapped mostly and rebuilt to function better before you can ever find a way to balance skill points. It should allow build diversity where you can make choices and have some quality of life skills and one profession. If at that point you choose to give up on one or the other then you'd be in more than one profession or have lots of tricks up your sleeve. As it is currently not much feels attainable or even worth the points.

I don't understand the mentality of the people that are comfortable in a huge company that they are the only ones or their way is the only way you should be able to experience and enjoy the game. Someone brought up mmo's being massive multiplayer but I have always seen that as many people on in the same world enjoying the same game and their being multiple ways to interact with eachother, not that grouping up and griefing eachother is the only goal, quite a difference there. Lastly any mmo that does want large scale battles usually places restrictions on those battles like battlefields, or at the very least a faction balance. Like a 3 faction system to automatically align and dis align people could do wonders. Oh your in our faction sure your company can have some land and already create a more cooperative and balanced pvp experience. I understand it is sandbox but without rules only few will dictate the "game" experience and before long you wont have anyone left to call a whiney douche bag cause the game wont be any fun for anyone to play.
