  1. Wow such great input. Clearly cause I want some type of balanced game that offers rewarding play, and a reason to PvP someone clearly means im a care bear how could I be so silly. You see the problem is it is a trolly experience. It takes hour and hours to grind for one simple thing just to have someone come troll you and ruin your day. There is no consequence to people for playing like assholes. The other problem is there isnt a point to PvP, the only point so far is just to be dicks to other people, your not really fighting for anything, and most people just want to cause as much grief as possible in the game cause there isnt much else to look forward too. On top of that there is little real PvP, attacking a raft with a brig isnt PvP thats griefing imo, offline raiding people for their territory isnt PvP thats PvE on player made content, and offlining my ships is the same thing.
  2. Yeah sorry to break it to you but unless you play in a mega with 24h presence then you honestly can't play the game on official. I hate this is the game and stopped playing it, cause I thought I bought an mmo based around pirate life. Only to find out that even a tribe of close to 100 people have little chance because the only PvP is offline Pvp. Its not pirates its government sized dictatorships, and the game is just not fun. Thats my opinion if you want to be a sheep in a zerg company than enjoy your second job as a slave in atlas.
  3. Yeah like any mmo that forces grouping up on large teams would do. Simply put if this is the only option you will allow players to have then you need to have factions to choose from so there is a reason and balance to the pvp.

  5. I am confused, you I thought you said in the previous post that not allowing solo play is bad. Isn't the post this is a response too also saying that its ridiculous to be forced to join a mega or not be able to play the game?
  6. Because we bought an MMO to play. We didn't pay the same price as you to play the same game to have you force your entitled opinion on us. We are all here to play and give feedback on the game, stop telling people your way of playing is superior. Either add something constructive to the post or stfu and dont say anything.
  7. How about some input into balance ideas and any aspects of the game your looking into changing. For example ships are too easy to destroy when parked at a base, or offline raiding etc.

  9. Main reason I can come up with is so I cant load a chest full of carbines and keep grabbing them to defend with, or something similar to that. Otherwise idk seems ridiculous and shouldn't really be a thing when grabbing off your body, considering that you just died there and probably need to defend yourself.
  10. Yeah its hilarious when people argue that some islands have less due to trade, when there are a few islands that have almost every single resource and at least every single basic resource. Where is the balance in that and why are some island inhabitants forced into the idea or trade and sailing and other islands are just ark with ships?
  11. Idk sorry it was confusing. Currently I will stop playing until they get a little further down the line and the game doesn't feel like a waste of time just cause we know it can be good. I wish them well and hope it doesn't die like your example of life is feudal but as of now its just an unguided poorly managed shit show. I feel its a better use to time to just sit back and watch and hope my investment of purchase gets turned into something worthwhile. At the current rate though I will not be holding my breath.
  12. Cool so we agree then. Don't change your design goals but make it an enjoyable experience to play along with those goals and implement systems that support that play not force it. Nice that we understand each other here. They want it to be like an mmo, yet they force rust and megas on us. Cool instead of making it a lazy nonsensical approach implement systems that create a balanced enjoyable experience. If they want it to be large war scale then fix the servers so its not just 150 in a zone and then make some sort of to encourage war AND playing together.
  13. I understand that but it should be a choice not forced. In games where it is forced it is usually approached with balance in mind like some sort of multifaction system.
  14. You are one of the only posters I see that understands this. Most people reply with get gud or join a large company to players that don't want to play that way. We bought a game to play with friends and most dont want to join large company's to play the game. We were sold on a pirate game where we can sail around, not sit on our ark island scared to death of what night we will get offlined and it all ends. If they don't make it so smaller company's can participate in the game, then soon the large ones will have no more easy targets and the fun will be gone for everyone. Anyways thanks for understanding.
  15. I think this is the part everyone is missing that op pointed out. At every turn in this game it feels evident that this is what the developers want. They have clearly stated how proud they are of megas taking over everything. They have made some changes due to complaints on the forums but have ignored any complaints that would make the game easier to play as a smaller company or solo. They clearly intend for it to be a huge mindless hive minded zerg fest so you need to either get on board with that or stop playing or they may never change cause in their eyes it is working as intended and people are playing.
  16. Lol yeah I agree that is funny and yeah its an open world sandbox mmo. I just don't see how its a smart business decision to put the future of your game and product in the hands of some players without putting in any systems to dictate how that should work or even an attempt at balance to that people can have a meaningful and rewarding experience after giving you their money. How in that business model are you supposed to have faith in future revenue when the person dictating it has zero interest in your bottom line. Seems like horrible business sense and game design to me, but I guess only time will tell. They seem to be making a lot of illogical decisions to me and all the people saying get good or join a mega wont even be enjoying the game once there is only a few company's to play for that dictate everyone's in game experience and tell you how to play when you log in.

Yeah I see, your point there I'm not as familiar with eve just some concepts that sound like they would work from others(like the declared war type thing and the your ship goes ofline when you do thing). Regardless of using another game for example, destroying other people's parked ships while they are out playing the game or offline shouldn't really be a thing(obviously it would need balanced somehow). Also raiding someones base while they are offline shouldn't really be a thing, and the claim system needs a complete overhaul. So in a sense I am refuting exactly what the core game is right now because it offers little to no PvP. I don't play PvE because it is just as broken and I enjoy PvP games for the persistent player versus player challenge that PvE simply cant offer due to the nature of it.
  18. One that actually encourages PvP. As for a game that is an example of what they want to do and how to make it work, you can look at eve and their systems in place.
  19. I mean I'm not knocking you to actually get enjoyment out of the game you paid for, or even upset by what your doing. I just mean why is this the game, it could be much more if they just had developed systems and balance in the game. They could easily achieve what they are trying to do but in a more fair and fun way to do it, and there are plenty of games to take good and bad examples from. Its just a lazy nonsensical approach to game development, and they even claimed they learned their mistakes from ark, when instead I have seen them make all the exact same mistakes or worse with zero "lessons" implemented at launch or even something that would resemble a PvP experience. Its Player vs Offline Player at the moment, or people that play like you just to troll and make your own fun, still not a healthy or good PvP experience.
  20. Lol but why is this content why is this the game. I agree if you can't easily make it your wasting your time, however destroying ships for the sake of fun or content shouldn't be the game and isn't PvP. Make it so we can sail and fight on the water and not just grind endlessly so hopefully keep our shit when you don't get PvP'd but just offlined constantly. Makes zero sense.
  21. This game is broken and encourages zero actual PvP. While there may be a place for "ninja" tactics, there is a problem when the whole meta revolves around that. Sneak in whenever you can to not actually fight anyone sink all their shit. Set up a base on their island then wait to make sure they are offline and raid them. Wow what a great PvP experience, so much fun, why not call the game pussy pirates you only take whats not defended. Doesn't matter if its a small tribe or a mega, everyone plays this way because it is allowed and is unfortunately currently the best way to play. That is a problem, I don't see how its hard to understand. Fix the claim system, and make ships harder to attack when they are not on the open sea, or leave your offline raid zerg fest game as is and lose all your players cause its not a fun or rewarding experience.
  22. Yeah I agree, I don't see their place. They are op on ships too. I don't think someone should be able to come sink your ships before you even have a chance to respond. Why can't we get a warning when a ship or wall is being attacked so we can have a chance to defend it as well?
  23. Well your almost lucky you don't have a claim or you would be more upset. I'm starting to feel like lawless is almost your best bet. There they atleast have to raid your base. The current claim system just requires them to have just a portion if their flag on your building to demo it instead of break in. It's a horribly flawed system that only encourages offline raiding and that is far from PvP. The state of the game is pretty horrible and if your not in a mega zerg guild you practically can't play. If that's what they want for a game so be it, I just feel that's not what I was sold. The player numbers will continue to drop due to the zero balance and lack of any offline protection. If you can't no life this game or can't fit in with a zerg and be a worker drone then just uninstall imo.

  25. It would be nice to see a change log of each map, also how so you determine such large areas. I know one us innacurate for sure cause I live by them.
