  1. The devs were banking on this change encouraging more people to play the game. The actual result has seen the exact opposite effect. People aren't playing it now at all. All the veteran PVP players have deserted the game in droves. Everyone I have talked to says they simply will not play a glorified PVE game. The only thing that will bring us back is a return to proper competitive PVP where the strongest rightly dominates and the weak shrivel and die.
  2. Nonsense? I take it you haven't looked at the player count recently There are 1598 players currently playing this game which is down another 37% on last month. This game is dead thx to the non competitive folks getting their safe spaces.
  3. So you go to war an incredible choice of 3 ships and 2 cannons. Oooh yea better raiding.
  4. Maybe ask them politely to remove the pillars? After all the spirit of the new Atlas "PVP" mode (aka PVE mode with occasional combat) is meant to be all about being nice and friendly to one another. Sharing and caring and holding hands. Actual PVP is to be frowned upon.
  5. As in everyone hides their stuff in the 'safe zones' so raiding is entirely pointless and you end up with hype inflation since no one loses anything? Lets not go down that path. The new changes have already nuked the game and now you want to bury it too.
  6. So called "PvO" might not come back but neither will the players. This will be a dead game with these changes. You can't alienate 90% of the PVP player base in order to appeal to the 10% that whine on the forum. Before this silly change there was a lot of PVP, this whole offline raiding nonsense is just exaggerated bull crap concocted by a few disgruntled bad players that need to blame something else for their inability to win.
  7. Battle Metrics isn't even that good I don't know why people glorify it. At the end of the days its a very basic app. I'm in a large company atm and this is the app we use its called the Raid Master. It's a custom job. I and others designed it for the company. As you can see you can get access to a lot more data including pattern recognition which is where it truly leaves Battle Metrics for dead.
  8. I can definitely blame the PVErs for that. A whole bunch of you joined the PVP servers, got quickly erased and then had a big whinge on the forum demanding there be less PVP. This is now the end result. I just want normal PVP, free of these silly rules and regulations. This hand holding crap is what annoys people. Let us plunder and slaughter whenever we want like old times.
  9. Yep as I said weeks ago this will be the death of small companies. The only way they can compete atm against larger companies is to have the element of surprise. Now with the new changes that is well and truly gone. You will now have to buy your token, let them know your coming and rock up to face 100 players all sitting around waiting for you...... In addition it will have another huge effect on the game in a different area and that is exploration. Currently it is quite fun to sail around and find new bases some of which are so poorly designed they make for easy pickings. With this new patch you might be 10 servers away from base when you see a great opportunity to raid a base. You man your cannon and begin to fire and then remember oh yea my cannon balls aren't doing any damage because I haven't purchased a war token and told them I'm going to attack you
  10. I agree there is no need for join notifications. It doesn't add anything of value to the game but only removed a strategic component.
  11. What is killing the naval fun is that there is no variety at all. There are only 3 ships to choose from and really only 2 types of sail that are useful. Then there is the cannons you have either medium or you have heavy. That's it. Is it any wonder that naval battles feel a bit sort of the same after a while...
  12. That is called PVP. That's what its all about.
  13. Have you seen the changes they have in store for us PVP players? The game is no longer a PVP game. So called PVP servers are now mostly PVE with highly regulated PVP.
  14. Yes but PVE players said no that will hurt my feelings, so now you are no longer permitted to do that on PVP servers. We must all hold hands and be nice. Its a little snowflake game now, albeit a very dead one.
  15. There is no need to rush no one is hardly playing this anymore since the PVE players took this game over.
  16. It's already been done with the latest updates. PVE players decided what was best for us PVP players now we have a dead game. Thanks
  17. They actually can and there are 2 very good reasons why they should. In the first version of the Power Stones only one player needed to kill the boss to obtain the key as it would reappear in his inventory every time he died. This meant you could die as many as times as you needed to in order to complete that power stone. This also had the added effect of allowing your friends and the rest of your company to easily do it with minimal effort. The second reason is that in one of the patches they briefly upped the points for discoveries to 3 day for a day before reverting it. Anyone that discovered stuff in that time ended up with bonus points which were not removed.
  18. You insult him he insults you back. What is exactly the problem here little snowflake?
  19. Griefing? Oh I see you mean players engaging in PVP on a PVP server? Yes agreed they shouldn't be allowed to do that its quite outrageous.
  20. Not if the total land mass per server remains the same.
  21. While this is an improvement I still don't understand why you just don't make the islands smaller and therefore able to have more in a zone which you could then vary between zones. More islands of varying sizes and quantities is more interesting for gameplay then simply a predictable guaranteed 5 large blobs per server. And while your at it redesigning the world can you get rid of all these silly looking peaks everywhere. The game isn't meant to be set in the Himalayas.
  22. So basically if you want to raid someone you go to their island and spam "defensive" puckles around their base in "peacetime" and then when you are ready you flip the switch and your defensive puckles become offensive. Hmm I can't see anyone doing this
  23. 123 names could be easily fixed if they simply reported the player name instead and enforced unique player names. ARK had the same issue and they never addressed it or tried to fix it over there so I highly doubt the same devs will do anything here to fix it.
  24. I'm torn between two sides on this new 'PVP' system. For large companies it will have its benefits mostly that it will see the end of the meta of sneak attacks on islands that you or the enemy owns that have few or no players on it at the time of the attack. It will be nice to full fledged wars with maxmium players from two large companies going hard at it. That said it will definitely reduce the tactical options available to players. For instance if I see an enemy company with a whole bunch of ships docked in a new harbor that is still building its defenses I will no longer be able to quickly organize a raid to take advantage of that which is a great shame and bad for gameplay. For small companies though I think this change will be a complete disaster. If you are in a small company your options currently vs a larger one really are only tactical surprises. If they know you are coming (which they now will) then you don't really have much of a chance provided they aren't complete noobs. This change will force smaller companies to form alliances for the sake of warring which many players may not like or wish to do. On the flip side these raid tokens will hardly matter for defending when in a small company. You stand a chance vs a large company regardless of this change. So its a net negative for small companies. Overall I think these changes to PVP will not be on the whole positive. Not if war tokens only come in one size fits all. I think at the very least we need a few tokens maybe even some "tactical raid tokens" that say let you fight on an island for 30 minutes with 5 minutes warning time and then say have a 1 day cooldown time. This would at least let players make some strategic moves when the opportunity arises.
