@Nacona Actually xbox can just barely handle this game on PvE. Less structure spam (cannon walls, harbors, honeycombed walls etc) on most islands. I would stil sometimes crash to homescreen even when approaching the shoreline at ~2knots, but it's not a death sentence on PvE. Alot of people on PvE play xbox. I played on a pretty spammed Lawless Island that usually had 15+ players online in the grid also. Just make sure no other apps or programs are running in the background lol. On PvP once I got inside the lag bubble I could move around w some rubberbanding on a heavily built up island. Approaching the island though my game crashed every single time. When I finally played solo on a Polar Island I pretty much had zero issues. Out at sea the game ran ok on both PvE and PvP. I actually suspect they've sold well over 100k copies between both platforms, but that they've managed to get 98%+ of the playerbase to fuck off.
  3. @George Catcher Yea they throw in the vague phrasing "will make your structures vulnerable to be claimed" at the end confusing things. Also they left out radius, gold cost, decay time, upkeep, taxes, tames, how conflicting tower placements will be resolved, PvE, PvP, tower HPs, size, a frikken picture of a tower... will it have a peace timer?...just to name a few important details off the top of my head... Basically to evade the responsibility of correcting the game mechanics and avoid a wipe they're going to have a tower-battle-royale on lawless. Don't get pissed at the devs, get pissed off at your neighbor.. Gah hah ha ha lol
  4. @George Catcher Everything- Merriam-Webster dictionary - definition 1. a. All that exists b. All that relates to the subject 2. All that is important 3. All sorts of other things -used to indicate related but unspecified events, facts or conditions If they're going to let it claim the Armored Dock AND the boat in less than 45 minutes I see no reason they'd exclude anything else. Correct me if I'm wrong, but sections of the smithy are labeled as "structures", right? So I say again.. Gah hahaha Sorry
  5. @Fionaline & @Rossco I think.. gah hahahaha I'm sorry but I meant to say, I meant to say, to say... say *slaps his knee* *begins coughing* Sorry I can't stop gah hahaha cackle keh Sorry *gasps*
  6. Heh heh... *cackle* keh Ahhhhhhhh hahahaha lol
  7. I'm not 100% convinced that they're unprofitable. Several reasons.. 1. I paid full price for 2 accounts on xbox. I bet they're WAY over ~100k sold by now. 2. Also the current mechanics get 98% who purchase it to fuck off after a few days.. Pretty efficient. 3. They're shrewd/ unscrupulous enough to get the consumer to be the beta tester. Seriously when i think of "Early Access" it brings to mind tipping a bouncer to cut in front of the line at a nightclub , not this shit. Wonder how much of the staff is starry eyed interns? So to finally answer your question, I dunno. The "idea" has huge potential. Major upside possibilities. Some coding skill would be necessary, which I DO NOT possess. However I have access to some people for that.. I tried to contact them via DM on these forums and also advertised here ad nauseum, to no avail. Of course I didn't expect to be flat out hired without a personal meeting, but, I don't think a simple DM stating "Hi, we're interested in speaking with you" is crazy either.. So basically I offered and they rejected. Whether it was due to their lack of interest or negligence is fruitless to ponder..

Wow now they look even worse if they include private servers and single player. Would love to see that 2100 number divided by playing time and measured against other titles...

That count is from Steam and only represents PC players, correct? Wonder if they're only on official or include private servers? I wonder how they actually measure the player count?.. Does simply logging in count as "playing", meaning, if i just pop in and run a lap to reset some timers then log out, we both know Im not "playing" the game, I'm just doing a few despised chores, right? Between 3 servers w 121 grids each those numbers are terrible. Even if you double them to account for xbox... Wow. Was just using steam to play a different game, maybe I'll see if they give any insight into their measurement metrics, unless you or anyone else know how they work?
  10. @chukiki Giving ya a like for improving the formattting of your complaints and grouping them Also I agree with some of your ideas Good luck

@George Catcher Trust me, I GET IT. It's like trying to turn a planet . Pro tip- the turning felt much more responsive if i cut sails down to ~30% However, after this last few month I'll pick a galley over brig for solo PvE everytime. Remember, just back up to get the loot, put a diving attachment at the rear on both sides. Naked swim the last bit if you have to. De-equip the diving suit by throwing your grapple. The extra HP and firepower is game changing. Especially if your gonna solo the Kraken. The extra cannons plus the range of a few heavy cannons may seal it for ya. If a bunch of mats fall in your lap, reconsider it. One more thing, leave off the very bottom deck and just use wooden ladders for access to the bottom planks. Thats also how i accessed the 10 tail cannons. I think I only used 4 decks total. Ok I'll shut up now, I know ya got your own way you enjoy playing... Good luck, have fun

@George Catcher I preferred brigs on PvE forever. I hated Galleys. However the last few months though I switched to running a solo galley. 1 Tons of extra HP 2 Tons more firepower 3 Greater haul weight so its faster 4 With the new increased reverse speed when i wrecked a bunch of SotD I simply backed up to grab my loot insted of taking 20minutes to turn it around My basic build I referred to as a "gally light", ~10 cannons across the back with high damage resist (same for the support walls), then bottem sides filled with 7 medium and 4 heavy cannon each side yielding 32 cannons out the gate and tons of extra crew space. Gradually added some front and side-rear cannons as I leveled up the weight. Even with 6 handling sails i could pull ~16knots.Even w a terrible headwind i usually stayed over 8knots. Carried 20+ spare planks/gunpports. Just my 2 cents. Even if you used a common shipyard to save on gold it's kind of worth it.
  13. @Chucksteak & @Asuroh Regarding floors as of ~5 weeks ago some of my company members managed to place one by building wood encased thatch floors in a shallow spot offshore to get outside of the exclusion radius. Personally verified it. Required a pad about 8x10 plus an additional pad of about 5x5 for the market. They had to manually load it though so they also eventually built a bridge to it. Giant pain the ass for them overall. Sidenote i used to report the bugs via the forums link (labeled bug reports). Just a hunch but i suspect those actually get through

@George Catcher & @Chucksteak They announced Tradewinds POTENTIALLY being implemented at the end of Q2/ beginning of Q3 so I would venture to guess that would be the logical time. Just a guess though Also Chuck don't forget he's sailing the brig on PvE solo, so not as risky for an experienced player.
  15. ooor logical game mechanics..
  16. @leluxo On a positive note you'll become more familiar w exactly what each variable affects. Techninically you could do it in 3 to 5 variable sections to narrow in faster maybe... I remember setting a server for some game (can't remember exactly which game) , i set some values on it to 2, instead of 1, thinking it would make the activity go twice as fast but instead it made it take twice as long. Realized the value needed to be .5 to do it in half the time (twice as fast) lol. You could start with default, vanilla settings, then tweak the associated settings as you encouter the things you'd like to adjust, while you play through the game... That's more or less the jist of my advice and probably the "best" way to do it imo. That's why I laughed when @Pant pointed out "playerdamagemultiplier=100". Made me giggle thinking of getting one-shot by a rock . Thought for sure he found your problem... Good luck
  17. @leluxo Maybe try the resistance multiplier? Another way to troubleshoot it is to set everything to default values and only adjust one thing at a time. Are these the defaults?

@George Catcher Apparently there were some "issues" with that last patch maybe they're triple checking? lol
  19. Shoot on PvP it was absolutely terrible. On top of people building palaces they then had to try to protect it by spamming triple thick walls, cannons, puckles, fence posts, walled harbors etc.. One island I was on literally almost zero animals spawned because it was so overbuilt. Constant rubberbanding
  20. @Mr.Binks Lions are easy to deal with when you use the right weapon, a mace. Also as you level up put your points into health. **Pro tip, you can even ride your tame with the mace out and ready for when they tackle you off Good luck
  21. @Teron Gray Hopefully they come up with a large library of modules/ components that can be swapped around to make ships much MORE customizable. It also opens up the possibility of giving the ships more authentic regional and historical design styles.. I hope thats where they're headed with this atleast, lord knows when I was anticipating the launch of markets i never foresaw the convoluted mess they actually implemented. So who knows, maybe it'll be a logical step in the right direction or maybe it'll be a ridiculous mess.
  22. @Nacona I really enjoyed your post and you do bring up some great points. Very few people i knew could go whaling on PvP and consistently make it back on my level. I took pride in my ability to do so. Also yes building a turtled ship for a 5 person harbor run was fun. Regarding repairs I disagree though. You ARE correct when you state that some people enjoy being a repair person. However I think most people would prefer to operate a ship and participate in large fleet battles. So I think less sections to repair would mean that more people could be a "pirate" and fewer would be stuck as a "repair person".
  23. Some feedback 1 This ship potentially fills the gap between a Brig and a Galleon, so good job devs. However, theres a few issues.. a. Get rid of the squid tentacles as a purchasing mat. Probably lower the gold cost also. If you want players to embrace the ships your proposing in EA lower the entry barriers so more people can test them. If somebody goes through tons of effort and isn't happy with your new design they'll just be twice as grumpy... b. Get rid of the gaudy flair (the tentacles) on the front. I love the ship concept but the front end is ugly as hell and totally unnecessary. I apologize if the designer is insulted but I'm just trying to be candid. Sometimes less is more and I feel a simple Bowsprit on the front would be more appealing to most players. 2. In the future roll out more ships something like this and save ships like the Ramming Galley for inclusion with some related content. For example the Ramming Galley belongs with some type of Ancient Greek or Egyptian travel-back-to-ancient-history DLC. Good luck
