It does suck that settlement owners can destroy structures in a 12+ hour window, which tbh won't help pillar/foundation spam anyway, particularly if you have a lazy settlement owner. They should scrap the ability for the settlement owner to demolish structures and just stick with the structure upkeep.

I saw someone on Discord already say they booked time off work and now have to postpone it, lol people never learn.

Hopefully it will, but pushing the update to 27th at the earliest means they've got a 5 day window before it hits April. Who knows what may come from the PTR that could cause a delay.

You've completely misunderstood. When someone builds on a settlement, from that point there is a 12+ hour window where the settlement owner can destroy the structure using the wheel selection. After that 12+ window the settlement owner can no longer destroy it.

It's 12+ hours after the individual structure has been placed down. So if the settlement owner is active they'd have a 12+ hour window to get rid of any pillar spam.

Yup, wipe won't be before 27th March. Probably April if i'm honest. But yeah PTR is now 20th.

@Jatheish Considering you have gone the PvP claim system route as this means that we have 2 upkeeps, one for structures, and the other for settlement please remove taxation. Do you really think it's fair that people have to pay 2 upkeeps and taxation on top? The settlement upkeep should count as taxation not in addition to it. Unless of course that is what you mean by setting taxation, but I don't think it is.

Absolute rubbish. People may have stopped playing but they made their voices clear on the forums, twitter, discord and reddit. It wasn't just the people left playing that raised thir voices. Just to confirm there is still a structure upkeep on settlements so there will be 2 upkeeps if building on a settlement. Jat confirmed this on Discord. Make sense because settlement owners will have a 12hr+ window to destroy structures, but after that window the structures will still need a decay time otherwise they will be there forever after inactivity. I just hope both upkeeps aren't ridiculous, I don't want to be farming for multiple upkeeps constantly.

They aren't exactly listening though. People that were saying they want land claim flags still in PvE but limit it to 1 to 3 per company have now got the same as PvP. How is that listening to the community? Yes they listened to the fact people want claim flags back, but they then went and took the easy route of copying PvP system. Is that what the PvE community was asking for?

For one thing alliances had the ability to chat to each other in game without the world seeing them. Now alliances can't do that. Not that i'm fussed because i'll never be in an alliance, but that's still one thing that "playing together" can't achieve anymore.

In regards to the PvE land claim change, now that there will be a claim upkeep that players building on that land will have to contribute too, is that in addition to the upkeep for structure decay? If so does that now mean we've got 2 upkeeps to keep paying towards? Also people wanted PvE claim flags but I don't think they wanted it like the PvP claim system.

Ok so we've clarified it says "thru 20th" yet you are incessant that it means "through THE 20th" and disregard entirely that it may mean "through TO 20th". Generally when people say "thru" and a date they usually mean through TO. Therefore 6x through to 20th March when the update is expected to drop.

Well Jat did say he was thinking of only doing them when they have something new to say, so maybe they won't be planning one for this week. It actually says "thru 20th" which usually means through TO not through THE. So it's indicating through to the 20th when the update will drop.

Absolutely. This is why I think there shouldn't be too much concern about land owners acting badly. As you say it will take players a while to figure it all out so there may be some early mishaps where people get removed from islands, but it won't be long before that ceases to happen. If it happens in the future it is likely because the players on the land deserved it or have possible quit the game and gone inactive. It's certainly not something I think people should demand a change for. If any land owners try to troll people, they'll soon find out how it will turn out for them.

Yeah i'd like to see stuff like that going on. The others are right, there will be a lot of experiences of land owners removing small groups from their land, but land owners will also have to try and uphold some level of reputation. If land owners keep wiping small companies off their land they are digging their own grave. If you have land owners that have high respect for the people on their land then they'd have higher reputation. So yeah I hope to see land owners experience small groups allying up to fight back if they have little regard for those on their land.

Well there should be a Captain's Log today, well usually Wednesday, so hopefully they'll have a PTR date in that.

LMAO people constantly say nothing is delivered on time, yet plenty of stuff has, stop lieing to make your argument. The date for the next big patch along with the wipe is 20th March.
