Haven't played the game in over a year. Just browsing these forum out of nostalgia and kind of hoping that things had improved. What I can say is despite all the bugs etc I have alot of good memories of this game, and this bitter hateful attitude says so much more about you than the developers. You have every right to complain about the flaws of this game, but shitting on this guy sharing his positive experience; what are you even doing here? How did you reach this point? My advice is uninstall the game, leave these forums, reexamine your life (maybe hit the gym but avoid the steroids because you've already got some problems with the rage) and find another pasttime to enjoy. Turn that destructive behaviour into something constructive, or you know, don't. Truth is if you didn't see some amazing potential and accomplishments from this game you wouldn't be so heated up about it. It's not this random guys fault that it might not get any better than this.I just had to chime in with a reality check

Depends how you want to play; I assume this is on the pvp server since you ask if your stuff is safe? Learning the game by trial and error you will have to expect to start over several times. There is a lot of cheese tactics that is not immediately apparent and if you do not know how to deal with it its most likely going to cause a reset on your part and how many resets depends on how many lessons you take away from it each time. Starting fresh in the middle of the season will be harsh. Right now, I think the best way would be to go on the recruitment section on discord, leave a message there, join a company that is willing to show you the ropes and just try to pick up on as much as possible before the next wipe and then decide what you want to do. This game is best played with other people. If you try to play solo, you will miss out on a lot of content. Next wipe will probably be with the new claim system, I don’t think anyone including the devs know when that will be. My guess is this month or February. If you own an island your stuff is safe during peace time (15 hours per day and only for claimed islands). In theory that is the only time your stuff is safe, but in practice there’s cheese ways around it, like putting your stuff in a tame / shop on the freeport or leaving it in a high resistance boat on the freeport and repairing it etc.

im in a big company and its not an issue, But my friends in NA cant make the gold for a schooner 5k is insane! Especially For Very small Companies that have 10-5 players even the ones who permanently live on lawless who couldent get an island, Or even players who did get an island But have no bay at all only to return the next day to a sunk 5k gold sink Ships with gold cost is stupid Especially the 22k useless ramming ship that cant be fixed at all. 1 plank missing = end game 7k HP Non Upgradable this is not a Holiday gift This is a Coal Wraped in shit.

wow dude, you are really toxic and I can see you really didn't read my post and are just assuming a lot of things so this is my last reply, after this i'm not going to waste more time with you, and I see a pattern on a lot of your replies even on other threads and I know that kind of personality. Not worth wasting time, besides you don't really provide any insightfull comment. The game is at less than 5000 players for a reason. This nonesense mechanichs are just one. I do play the game, I do have a warehouse, I do have a farm, I do have the chance to get a galleon everyother day on the server I play, I own a very big islan, i'm not a solo player. But I also have the ability to se things from the perspective of a singleplayer o smal group of players, the game is slowly dying because of mechanics such as this, the vitamins and some other nonsense that remove the fun from the game and just make it increasingly frustrating.

You do realize the game is on alpha right? So, things will change; as they already have, some systems will stay and others will dissapear depending on the community feedback.

This game was already incredibly difficult for new players to get into, and now with the added gold cost on ships, this game has more in common with a murder hobo simulator that it does a pirate game.

You are entitled to you position, that is fine, if you like it the way it is right now good for you, enjoy it. But all the complaints you see on the forums, steam, twitter, etc, are there for a reason.

Yet, you should be able to get a schooner every other day, with this system you need to invest a lot of time into getting a schooner, specially if it's your first one.

I'm playing on a private server with very high rates, on a box you can get about 300 gold, a 1900 treasure may get you 15000 gold, and believe me, it took time to farm a galleon. On oficial rates I would have dropped the game before getting the gold for the schooner.

I was thinking about coming back until I saw it cost gold for ships. F that noise.

Hey,I find the solution to this problem,it's due to the ServerGrid.ServerOnly config,it's lost a database named TradeDB,you can add this database in this file like this { "Name": "TradeDB", "URL": "127.0.0.1", "Port": 6379, "Password": "foobared" } i try this way and it's work well,hope this can help yours.
