  1. I just think if it could be done somehow it would remedy an otherwise crazy situation, especially with the new decay timer being lowered on ships.
  2. Well unfortunately because of my lesser intelligence I chose to make base on lawless, silly me.So this won't directly affect me yet, however also due to my severe mental impediments I am prone to outbursts of caring about other people (bonkers I know),and whatever happens as a result of this new wipe system I don't believe will be beneficial to pve.
  3. Casual players don't matter?very loaded statement, you either enjoy arguing or don't think when you type,I wonder which one it is......
  4. Well I personally think they are well aware of the implications this mechanic brings to pve, maybe i'm just more cynical than other people.
  5. When I first started playing atlas I sailed to 2 owned islands ,the first one was really small with barely any resources but I found a place and built a tiny hut.Next day hut was destroyed by owners and my character had been killed(pve).Next island I sailed to was claimed,so this time I asked if it was ok to build, got loadsa sarcastic and unfunny replies. So I found a small clearing built another hut.Next day hut destroyed by owners and my character killed.Sailed to lawless, still there. No not everyone is gonna have the mentality to use the wipe, however there will be quite a few that will want to,I just see this game mechanic leading to future conflict, personally I think that is the intention, cos even if one large company does it that's still a lotta angry players sailing about with buildings gone.To me pve should remain so,If I wanted that sorta thing to even be possible i'd be on pvp,and pvp'ers don't really need that anyway as they can destroy each others buildings and take over islands if they really want too,yeh it's slower, but it can be done.So the intention must be to cause friction in pve.and like I say no not everyone is gonna use it,but some definitely will.
  6. Well I don't know if this is possible but with the fact that the ship build limit is huge and so is the lag with it,and not everyone is able to sail every ship every day, what about giving people the ability to store ships in an inventory? could be an npc dock that charges by the ship,or just a dedicated storage at the base.Is it possible?
  7. I don't care how absurd it sounds it's been done directly to me on other games.Like I said one server got it so bad the devs wiped the server off the board for a month. The leader of the clan who did it even told me they would do it. I can't explain why someone would bother going to all that trouble just to aggrevate people cos it's not something I would do or even understand.Believe me I was very shocked to find my entire build messed up on pve just because I wouldn't move my building. They even locked another player in their base and made him drop all his stuff before he could leave.I don't care whether you believe it or not it happens. Will it happen on atlas ?I hope not,but that's no reason to create tools to help.
  8. Democracy?I live in a democracy, you can do anything you can afford.that's where democracy starts and ends.
  9. same here, lost 2 of my 4 ships and I know I re-anchored them within what I at the time thought was the right time period,ie less than 2 weeks. It's happened to a lot of players.
  10. Well for a start I play everyday,And there have been large groups who play pvp,and will join pve servers literally just to grief people, one game I play a company did so much griefing the devs shut down the server, and the stuff they did musta cost fortunes. In WOW some players had so much in- game money they had to put a cap on the amount you could have.In eso making gold is so easy if you've played for a long time, even solo players have loads.and a lot of them games at least have cosmetics and shops you can waste your excess cash in,this game barely has anything to buy.In atlas there is already a lotta bored players who would welcome a wipe, well a wipe means losing all your stuff does it not?So why would that bother a serious griefer?
  11. While I agree that not everyone is gonna want to spend gold on the raze,After playing mmo's both pve and pvp since they were almost created I can tell you from bitter experience that some big bored companies are gonna love the idea and use it to annoy the hell outa other players, human nature is always the same. What bothers me more is the direction this game is turning when it comes to pve.If you do get everything destroyed you're gonna want revenge somehow right? So will a game mechanic come in to offer you that chance? After all they would only be giving people something they will be asking for.If and it might not happen, but if it does, what then will pve really be?
  12. Obviously someone or someone's on the design team isn't gonna be happy until this is just a massive pirate war game.It won't be long before there will be a pvp element thrown into pve for those that want it,If you look at the blackwood update, great we get more to do,but isn't it just another type of pvp but with an npc substitute?what happened to the exploration side to the game?Explore for war?Find lots of interesting places and annihilate them all? There are plenty of good war games out there, why just make another one?
  13. The only thing about the npc blackwood idea that annoys me is there will be no friendly colonies, can't an mmo for once actually have a realistic balance of hostile/non hostile npc's? it would seem that the need to get everyone playing this game to start fighting or warring in some way is completely dominating any future changes. If you're constantly battling all the time you might as well play pvp.I like the idea of giving players something more to do,but why is that always just fighting more people or elements or monsters etc?Has no one on the team got an imagination beyond more things to fight?what about more things to explore that aren't just an excuse for more monsters to fight?
  14. Yeh it's ridiculous, the only way I have found round it is either load points in the skill tree when you level up,or if you don't want to wait, use the adjusting single player sliders.
  15. nerfing the glider is ok as long as they put the resources ie gems,in lower areas and reachable areas so I won't need it.
  16. At the end of the day any new claim mechanic regarding claims is a case of damned if you do damned if you don't.they are obviously trying to please people with the changes but it doesn't seem they can see a clear way to please the majority.and the more they are trying, the more complicated the claims are becoming. You used to just stick down a flag and wait.Conan exiles is a much smaller map and they just have a build boundary, which works better than a lot of ideas i've seen.Yeh people will still grief cos that's what some people do,but in the main it works ok.Making it more complicated isn't the best way forward.
  17. Well conan exiles is actually 6days,and its manageable, the difference is when we get a different mechanic in that game it is explained exactly what to do to reset the timer,on atlas the players are left guessing or doing it wrong. then like me and so many others this week losing their ships.
  18. this is my point entirely nobody is actually sure about the timer or decay settings. Also if I didn't need it I wouldn't have built it.I don't consider 2 schooners and two sloops too many ships either.
  19. Yeh but you'd be pretty strange if you stared at a foundation block on your pc for hours at a time!
  20. Yeh it happened to me twice,so I went to a lawless zone,it's not perfect but it's good enough and no one else can destroy my stuff. If you want a good start in lawless try n7,d7 a lot of that line of the map are ok.
  21. well apparently i'm not the only one this has happened to in the last week, but what's more frustrating for me is the fact that nobody actually knows how to reset the boat timer,I've heard people say you have to be in render range,or you have to re-anchor,or you have to fast travel to it.I just think it would be beneficial for players to know for sure.
  22. Yes 2 weeks ago I re-anchored them, they both had dinghy docks, the dinghy's are still there though. So what is their version of inactivity?anyone actually know?
