  1. Dyu know I pay nearly £400 pounds a year to drink water? that's a cash grab as it's something I can't live without. If the air was fresh i'd probably have to pay for that too. Atlas isn't really a con because you don't have to buy it, my water bill, now that's a con!
  2. Well if it was a stranded sailor they could have him join your crew for free if you rescue him.
  3. I don't know if it's already been suggested but instead of just treasure maps in bottles how about stranded sailors letters? And rescuing them as a quest?
  4. Don't know if it's intentional or not but the middle top frozen island with the skull won't let me fish anywhere, Also when I dropped the dinghy into the water it vanished, leaving me to swim to shore.
  5. What I don't understand here is how everyone expects atlas to be bug free after 8 months. Skyrim still has bugs and quest glitches, Fallout 4 is a nightmare of bugs, ESO has plenty and so does WOW, as for royale that has its fair share too.Nearly every game does. Also, just because you don't like a game it doesn't give you the right to hurl insults at the people that do. I paid £11 for atlas and i've played it for 400 hours, I paid £24 for skyrim and played it for 200 hours. And I'm still playing atlas. If you don't like the game then fine that's your choice to make and the same for those of us that do like Atlas it's our choice to make.
  6. As far as I know ,even though I haven't done it yet, you can summon the kraken as normal.
  7. Well the discovery side isn't there I noticed, and so far I've levelled well past 52, but as far as I know all the rest is meant to be there.
  8. Well I notice one person missed my point entirely..hmmm wonder who that was? No I don't support anything blindly which is why I'm not ranting and raving and calling the devs names,I knew this game would be a bumpy ride from the start and yes I do still play it. and I do defend any ones right to complain about something they are involved with and care about. So peoples comments don't bother me either. But that doesn't mean that I believe someone has the right to patrol these forums and turn any topic into an excuse to attack atlas or it's developers, especially when nothing the devs do directly affects them.oh and ps, whitehawk is what my real name means in it's native tongue, look it up eh it might educate you.
  9. If I support a business on kickstarter it could succeed or it could fail, that's life and it's the same with EA gaming. If you have no intentions of seeing a project through whether it ends good or bad then don't invest in it . The price I got it for was practically giving it to me, and I've played it for more hours than skyrim, and if you don't have nice things then be wiser with your cash, no one forces you to buy an ea game do they? Buy a finished game with no bugs at all, oh hang on a minute I don't think they actually exist. So just save your money for "nicer things" eh.
  10. It's a shame that every sale of the game doesn't come with a unique id number that you need, to log into the forum, at least that way only people who genuinely need advice or have real suggestions would be able to post. Not an ideal situation, but I don't agree with people who patrol the forum looking for any reason they can to hate on the game or constantly complain about something that isn't even affecting them, and encouraging people to quit. Whether these people are trolling or not the results are pretty much the same. I really like this game and I have been affected by nearly every bug it's had, to the point where everything I had on pve is now gone. But I bought this game knowing it would have issues and would need work. That's life. For now i can only play in sp, but I absolutely love it anyway, and in the meantime I know the problems will be sorted. Also I cant wait for the xbox release, cross platform or not.
  11. I've played WOW a lot and also ESO, WOW is a pay to play mmo and no way can that compare to atlas, It has also lost a lot of players through game changes in the past.ESO is buy to play and they are probably one of the best mmo's around that don't constantly charge. But when they changed the levelling system and called it tam one they totally ignored all the long term players when we said it was a bad move and instead listened to the new players who said it was a great idea. consequently a lot of the areas are empty now and all the fanboys are gone. The long term players still play though but it's not nearly as good as it once was. In a way these forums are a double edged sword for atlas because people make suggestions and want to see they have been listened to.If Atlas had no forums you would just either buy the game or not buy it based on game reviews, this forum, though it is good to communicate with other players, is harming the games development. There are too many ideas being put forward and far too much negative commenting that is destructive. If the devs tried to please everyone on this forum they wouldn't know which way was north. I still really like the game and I hope it achieves the potential it's capable of, I for one will buy the xbox version too. I wish it every success.
  12. The last question I asked was aimed at the haters only, and there are a few, and I meant the forum in general not just this one topic. But whatever the reason people have for negativity on these forums,in general it is not doing the game any good at all. Some people moan and moan about people leaving pvp and pve then start a topic with titles that encourage people to stop playing. You can't have it both ,if you don't want more people to quit then encourage them to stay. Not tell everyone and his dog that the games useless so lets all give up. More people pick up on negative statements than positive ones, that's human nature. and yeh people are quitting and some of the comments that people put on these forums are helping them go.Like I say I really like the game and play everyday if I can.But no game is ever gonna be perfect, mainly cos all our expectations are different. Frankly I don't think the devs deserve all the toxicity they get on these forums at all, they have actually done quite a lot since launch, no I don't agree with all of it, but I'm a player not a developer. How many car companies allow the public to design their cars? How many clothing companies ask us what the latest fashion should be? The trouble with ea games and some online pc games, the players think they are share holders and have a say in how the games work and they are not. We don't own shares, we can ask for changes but not demand them. Ultimately the decisions belong to the devs, not us.
  13. Well I could be wrong, but isn't 1600 hours roughly 6-7 hours everyday, if you are playing the game that much how could you not see lots of the problems in it? I think reality and expectations are always going to cause disappointment for people, because things are never literally as advertised.I used to play pc games on win 95 and it was horrendous, every game constantly froze or crashed or had floating buildings etc, and guess what? i'ts never been any different, not ever. even early console games were blighted with problems that devs never sorted. The only time I played pc games that didn't crash was on the commodore 64 and the amiga and they took 40 mins to load from tape, and sometimes the tape stuck and you had to start again.new games always have problems that annoy players, some games have been around years and still haven't sorted out major issues. I'd say to anyone who plays a pc game for 6 hours or more everyday to break the cycle and every now and then do something else like learn an instrument or something.Playing that much is not healthy at all. As for Atlas I really like the game a lot, and I played ark too but didn't like the toxic player base. I think the game is getting better, and i've been hit by all the major issues, lost my ships for no reason, then after update couldn't log into game at all and have now lost everything in pve, but guess what? it's a game, poo happens. So for now I'm playing sp until things get sorted, it's not ideal cos I want to be on Pve but for some reason it won't run, but it's ok cos I do other things away from Atlas .Just give the game time it is improving a lot and I'm sure will continue to do so. Just out of interest though, how many people who constantly hate on Atlas on this forum are still playing ark?
  14. No, no mods at all I don't use them, it settled down a bit today. I'll see how it is later. One thing I have got though is no mans sky constantly updating in the background even though I turned the updates off, could just be that. I hope so.
  15. Even though kids play a lot of online games, it is the duty of the parent to decide its suitability. I once saw a 9 year old child with gta 5, and I told his gran it was an 18 for good reason, she said it was the one he wanted so she bought it for him! So are the game manufacturers at fault? If a parent or guardian doesn't keep a check on what their child is playing,or the forums they are on, then that is the fault of the parent, and i'm speaking as a parent ima.
  16. Anyone else getting lag now in blackwood sp? it didn't happen when I first played it but since yesterday its virtually unplayable. Anyone else got this and the odd freeze too?
  17. This was discussed a while ago in a previous topic and a few people were on board with it. If you could save ships you are not using in some form of inventory it would help reduce clutter and lag too.
  18. I just travel to blackwood and stock up on fish, then go back to my main base.the good thing is the islands are so close together.
  19. yeh single player, but freeport is right next door and easy to get to and it does have fish.
  20. No, the ponds on my island have no fish at all, neither does the sea around it .
  21. There's a pond I found on blackwood freeport with tuna in it, but i'm on the island to the left of blackwood and there are no fish at all for me. We all seem to be having differing glitches. now i've built a decent speedy schooner though i'll be at the freeport in minutes anyway so it's no problem at the moment.
  22. They could make pvp an activated mode like some other games do, that way pvp'ers can fight to the death if they want to and pve'ers can watch if they want to, maybe it could change the colour of your health bar if pvp is active, same for a ship too. Individual duelling has been good in some games , i'm a pve'er mostly now but I have many times taken part in single duelling in other mmo's.
  23. Yeh if you were complaining you would have had more replies it's sad to say. The islands are excellent and deffo at exactly the right distance. It might seem weird but my favorite part is the crows cos the island i'm on has loads of them. I also like the fact that everything you need is reachable now, no fast travel needed on this map. I hope they spawn more fish round the islands soon though, as mine doesn't have any but they aren't far away so it's no biggy. The islands are beautiful too, especially at sunrise.
