  1. If you remove that much land though you will have nowhere to build at all as a new player, So where do you put the shipyards? you would need to live off of your ship and the only ship you could put all your resources on would be a galleon, so there exits your small company or solo player. Also in pvp you wouldn't stand a chance when you sign in for the first time. I'm not a massive fan of factions but I could see it working in atlas, for one thing you would automatically choose sides giving you a straight forward attack target and also you would have allies from the word go. And at least it would be like real pyrating and not just attacking each other for something to do.
  2. the only real way to stop the decay is to use your bed to travel to base and back.
  3. I don't know why the 'what a real pirate would do ' is even a basis for an argument in a fantasy mmo with a submarine, torpedoes and a giant crab!! Also in reality pyrates very rarely attacked each other at all and mostly worked together. Once you accepted the un golden age canon stuff you accepted that this is no longer a pyrate mmo, so let's please stop using it as an argument for everything eh. Yeh this is deffo fantasy but golden age pyrate mmo? do behave. And for me the sailing is fine but I and a lotta players just don't have 6 hours a day spare to play the game. It doesn't need to be more exciting imo, just quicker.
  4. Yeh i've been requesting this since xbox release, I've done it on pc but there is no way to do it on xbox due to the storage and the fact you need a third party program like atlas/ark paint.
  5. there are saps at most freeports in blackwood.
  6. As far as I know this topic was just about the sailing issues, I don't think anyone here has actually asked for the whole game to be easier. The solo vs company issue, meaning end game stuff being boss locked etc I believe is still an ongoing debate elsewhere on this forum.
  7. Don't get me wrong the fast travel in conan is convenient at times, mainly to avoid major hassles or if I've only got half an hour and I need to visit some bases to stop decay. But the map is really small compared to atlas. Personally I want airships in the game anyway, i'd rather that than another loada tames.
  8. No they used to wander naked around the whole map carrying explosives, in fact I made a map for people to use outside my main base and they never used it. In exiles the map isn't really that big and you can walk everywhere, it doesn't take long really.
  9. I don't agree that fast travel has ruined conan exiles and i've played it since release and I'm the longest surviving player on the server i'm on. I played pvp for quite a while too and it wasn't fast travel that was the problem or mega tribes, it was a small group of bored college kids that would wait till you were offline and blow up your buildings and kill all your thralls cos they had nothing to do.Then the purge that was totally broken and just afflicted everyone and destroyed my biggest base while I was offline. In Atlas I don't find the sailing boring, I just don't always have the time to sail for 2-3 hours a day. All that's gonna happen if people keep saying it's boring is, they will make the sailing more perilous by adding more dangers at sea, ok if you've played for ages but the new player won't stand a chance on his raft or ramshackle.
  10. Yeh I agree like i've said before you can't just log out in the middle of sailing online, so you have to get somewhere safe, which for most people is an ally base or their own.
  11. I thought that loose lips sink ships? Or was that just ww2 propaganda?
  12. I don't see why if anyone likes atlas so much that adding fast travel would make them quit. I and many others wanted more styles of ship and more realistic builds but instead we just got more tames. Which is annoying cos that's why I don't get on with ark having nothing but taming to do most of the time. I joined cos it was going to be a pyrate mmo, now it clearly is not, I still haven't quit. If you want to find reasons to quit a game then you'll find one eventually anyway. Like lots of gamers with families I don't have 9 hours a day to play so yeh for me the sailing can be a pain. And if we all did the thing that was suggested by the people that can play all day, just quit, the game would be dead in 6 months anyway.
  13. you'll have to buy it on xbox to play it on xbox.
  14. Naval action is a sailing game, sailaway is a sailing game. Atlas is a fantasy mmo with sailing in it. The moment you fly that dragon, tame the giant crab or all jump inside a giant tame ,then you are accepting that fact.
  15. The trouble is the WPE are literally just target practice. You don't really get anything for the effort, you don't get any crew out of it, the guns disappear and you have to repair all the buildings if you want to keep them' or have the hassle of demolishing them all. you get more for less effort in pvp.
  16. As they are primarily pushing pvp in the games features, I often wonder if a lot of the things they do or don't do are there to increase intervals of conflict between players.
  17. One shipyard that can make all ships would help, I hate having to have a small and large shipyard at the same time. Not only are they a pain to place sometimes but they block a lot of space. In the long run a way to store/save ships we don't use all the time would be a good feature too.
  18. Yeh i've done this while at sea, whole ship and masts, been asking for ages for the wheel menus to be sorted, ie not have scuttle ship directly after ship option wheel.
  19. The sad thing is the devs have a game here with so much future potential, I don't understand their motives at the moment. Any mmo's only gonna succeed if it helps in community building, especially in a game where the potential to have whole colonies exists. We need trading, and npc's shops to sell stuff in.Taverns would do, especially as neutral meeting places. And more furnishings for ships and buildings to make them more homely and nicer to look at. The modders have done this already and it looks great. I assume the devs want this game to run for years so these things need to be regularly added and updated. It would be so sad to see them just add just more and more hostiles, in a game that has great potential to be something better.
  20. Hey don't say sailing takes too long or the new players will criticize you. Motik I have no idea what the hell you are babbling on about, btw. If you criticize me then it is personal duh! and I have no idea what a milenial is, I think you meant( millennial snowflake) As I was born in the 60's and have been playing mmo's since they started. And I'm really too thick skinned to care what you think, I only replied to your attack on me cos you are late to the party and had the arrogance to try and lecture me. This is a forum btw, if you don't like people moaning or complaining why join a forum in the first place? ps. don't melt eh
  21. Yeh i've experienced bad owners on 2 islands so I went lawless, tbh owning an island doesn't seem worth the trouble either, someone has to be able to patrol it daily to stop people spamming and stuff. too much hassle for me.
  22. Firstly you haven't read my posts have you? I don't care about the sailing, but I do agree with fast travel, How many mmo's don't have a form of fast travel? also i've been playing since the game was released so yeh did have a company before wipe, I also play pc and xbox so I guess I know what i'm talking about in atlas eh. personally I want an airship anyway. what annoys me though is all the hypocrisy with people being pyrate and sailing elitists in a game with a sub, torpedoes, flying dragon, and giant crab. Not to mention a tame you can all climb inside. Fast travel won't ruin the game, also no one would be forced to use it would they? Yeh I play solo now cos unlike some new players, i've incurred 2 official wipes of all my stuff( which was a lot) and one glitched update that stopped me logging in for over 2 weeks. so all my stuffs been wiped 3 times, yet I still play and support the game on both platforms, so following your example.. 1) maybe check peoples posts properly b4 you reply. 2) If you want to lecture someone have kids or get a job in a college. 3)Did you want an award for 3? 4) This is also a tongue in cheek reply. 5)Ironic that you're telling me to socialize with other players, when it's attitudes like yours that drive people to play solo. cheers to you too.
  23. I had neighbours with so many ships and shipyards and buildings my pc used to freeze when I sailed back to base, and only move again once i'd crashed onto the shore. I just had to try and guess which direction my base was and aim for it, cos I never saw the journey there by boat.
  24. The point on fast travel is that some people don't have the time to play for 8 hours a day, and you cant log off while you're sailing and log back in the same place, only in sp. so longer journeys are gonna be impossible for some people. And you need to sail a lot in this game and travel quite a distance especially for blueprints. They could have whirlpools as teleports that are strategically situated so that it wouldn't give too much of an advantage but enough to cut a journey in half. It cant be any worse than what people are using the beds for ie griefing other players, and no one want's them gone.
