to answer that I would have to know how many hours ahead/behind China is to NA.... then I would be able to figure out the prime time in China conversion....

Are pillars a viable alternative to foundations?....

Let me start by saying the pictures of foundation spam I see are very off-putting.... I want to have as little personal spam as possible.... I have 2 questions.... do pillars have a build radius like foundations do?.... I would rather drop a few pillars than the grotesque foundation spam I see.... second, how big is the no build radius ?.... 3 foundations wide ?... 10 foundations wide ?...

DILBERT.... will this decay to structure be lawless only or will it also plague settlements?....

I plan on giving lawless a go this time around.... i hate foundation spam although I realize at a minimum you have to go a few feet away from your foundations or someone will place right up against you prohibiting you from replacing a wall you want to upgrade.... do pillars work the same as foundations in keeping someone from building right up your ass ?....

When I get home I’m gonna see if we can build on Freeport as we can on the PVP test server.... if we can then I will assume that not everything is turned on.... or even coded for that matter.... if that is the case, It makes me sad that we can’t test what it’s REALLY gonna be like on live....

As for the original focus of this thread.... I am in a 2 man company..... myself and my adult son..... yes, I am old..... so from my point of view I think inter-company mating is a VERY bad idea....

What about repair structures?.... is decay enabled on the PVE test server?.... (I’m at work so I can’t check)....

The can’t destroy it if they can’t see it.....

It will play MUCH different..... on Colonies I was starting to see puckles..... if they don’t want you on their island in Colonies they can keep you off.... As I have posted a few times already, if they try to run you off an island on PVE it’s gonna be grief city.... have fun fun finding all the pillars that are buried into the terrain....

Buttpirate.... if I build on a claimed island anyone (owner or random) can do the very same things to me there that they can do to me on lawless.... and that’s when the griefing begins....

Grief fest for sure.... I can see settler joe finding a nice spot on a unclaimed island day one..... starts building his base.... 6 hours later big company claims island, tells settler joe he gotta go..... deletes his partial base.... I could then see settler joe dedicating 30 minutes of his daily gameplay hiding pillars/foundations inside the terrain where they won’t be seen.... Decay timer won’t matter cuz settler joe gonna spam more each day....

Pretty much all I have been doing the last couple of days is abusing the change home server mechanic (I assume this will go away when we go back to live) to scout islands I wanted to settle on..... guess I’ll start scouting lawless lslands now....

I thought I had read that structures on ALL the new servers would decay over time so you would have to keep mats in a repair structure to prevent said decay.... this would be on top of the 4 day lawless decay....

I think the two of us are the only ones left that care about PVE.... Ill take the NA-PVE server and you can have the EU-PVP server....

I am WAY underwhelmed with the new 1flag/owner per island system so I am thinking about going lawless.... I am afraid that when they add the decay system (does not seem to be in place yet on the PVP test server) a settler on lawless will have to log in each day to repair each piece of their base individually....

I thought the PVE test server was gonna go online today.... I have not seen a single thread here or on the general forum about a PVE test server.... has anyone heard why it is not up (I don't have discord, twitter, facebook or whatever they use to communicate) ?.... This silence is starting to make me believe I might get an island all to myself....

When I see the sewage that regularly spews forth from someone like Balonyboy I am comforted by the knowledge they are just miserable all the time.... in all facets of their life people are just steaming pools of negative misery.... and yes, that gives me comfort....

How many island points does a single player and a company of 2 have to spend ?....

Interesting..... I jumped on awhile this morning just to look around a few islands.... saw one flag on top or a stone spire..... another inside a building.... I’m guessing that the settler does NOT have to go to the flag itself to pay rent....which would be pretty insulting in my opinion.... I’m guessing it is taken out of the “upkeep” structure you have to have to maintain your base....

You can’t change it.... that mechanic no longer exists.... you have to go around behind them demolishing their stuff one piece at a time.... enjoy being a landholder....

yes.... you have to open your steam library.... right click on atlas.... you should see a drop down with the regular server circle checked.... check the bottom circle (pts) and start that way....
