  1. Vaults and auction house along with a ships register building would greatly improve gaming experience. And dont forget the taverns please and wenches....
  2. Its nice to have this forum. But wouldn't it be utterly cool to have an auction house in freeports where you could auction in game items, tames and services? Comparable with the ones in LOTRO. Along with a rentable vault.
  3. But please implement that. The builder of the ship should be able to do that. What happened to the captains log mentioned in the game description anyway? I think there should be a ships registry building in freeports where players can rename, auction, insure ships and query a ships name and its owners and battle / travel history)
  4. In f5 i got between 2 fleets with my ramshackle sloop. The ships were so close to each other that they kept bumping into each other but still the galleon found some leisure to unleash broadside after broadside upon me while i was a sitting duck cause there was no wind. Took them almost a minute to send me swimming to shore with the sharks nibbling my toes. Why are those ghostships not bound to the same wind mechanics as we are?
  5. strangely water barrels are filling up without rain.
  6. Not sure about resource balancing. But resource naming is off from the very beginning. very few resource nodes match their visuals. in my experience any given plant, e.g. one that has the texture visuals of a "daisy", yields a different resource in a different map sector. parsley in F5, oregano in G6, coconut in B5 or so. But it never really ends up being a daisy (maybe fibers) in your inventory. It really look as if they randomly pull names from a database without any QA. It's a bit sad. the graphic designers really gave the items, plants, minerals great detail. but the coders don't give a crap. they just glue the pieces together as if they were blind or at least ignorant.
  7. That's because the visuals of the resources do not match the underlying code. In short what you see is NOT what you get. I already reported this. Please upvote my post from march 16th to get the devs attention.
  8. I like the new claiming system better... however The PTR is now up and running for give or take roughly 12 hours. Given the fact that only a fraction of Players (I think max. 30%) takes part in the PTR test run, its remarkable how much of the map is already claimed. I'd say about 60-80 % is either claimed or occupied with significant presence. I personally do not think there will be enough room for every Clan to claim an island as was hinted in the patch notes. I didn't count the possible settlements, but I'm sure the number is far less than 1000. Compare that to the total number of Companies and players. Therefore the new Claiming system will benefit large and medium companies. Not small companies and solos as intended and indicated in the Patch notes. I personally wouldn't mind if I don't get a settlement on my own. after all it's all about "getting along with the neighbors". But what really disappoints me is the ever present decay that punishes and negates any effort that a claim-less player invests in the game. Please turn off decay. The settlement owner can blast away whatever bothers him/her anyway. OR even better Introduce "instanced-homeports" for each player. containing a very small island with basic resources, water, crystal and salt and building limited to a single medium shipyard and no decay. Like that everyone can have some permanent home-server without spamming the rest of the grid. Entering the homeport can be realised with a pop up menu that appears when sailing over the server borders. access to the homeport can be set by the owning company. If you deny access you can't attack other companies and can't declare war. if you attack someone the access to your homeport is granted to all with a cooldown before it can be denied again. during war its open.
  9. Resource naming is mostly totally off. I already reported some of this. If you like upvote my earlier post so it gets more attention
  10. Just picked up a coconut. it turned out to be a wild cactus. daysies yield parsley. and so on . funny for a while but weird in the end. Did you guys have to much grog ? Duh!
  11. nevermind. Skill tree is already unlocked so this is of no moment. most likely a config for testing. we don't have to bother with skills while on PTR
  12. After leveling up to Lvl 2 I now have -1371 Skillpoints. see screenshot. But that ain't a problem since I have all the skills I need already unlocked.
  13. Listen to the man! Really do! No ARK ATLAS = PIRATES We have enough animals at the moment. Thanks. If you don't have ideas ask the community. Keep it simple. Ensure basics like stability, bugfixes, ORP work.that builds trust. kickban griefers, add more & better ships, more plunder, more treasure. wenches, vaults and taverns in freeports, arena fights, moderated events. success will follow.
  14. Most likely the devs count on the problem going away after wipe and implementation of new claim system. I don't think there will be any progress here until after the wipe.
  15. sorry to hear that. friend of mine did 2 verifies of game files. after 2nd it worked.
  16. I heard its Battle Eye related. reinstalling battle eye might help.
  17. I regularly fall out of moving ships while under deck. When I am online my crewmates can pick me up but when logged off i just drown apparently. work around is to stash everything I carry in a storage box before logging off on a ship and respawn on the ship bed when coming back online. bummer.
  18. Happened to me. after climbing up to a discovery spot for an hour ... lost all my gear. really frustrating.
  19. The names of plants and mineral resources are mostly mixed up. As if names are pulled randomly from a database for any given resource node regardless of visuals. E.g. A grey metal node that visually looks like a genuine piece of granite is named "Stone (Pure Copper)" and yields Cobalt(metal). Expected behavior would be: Node looks like granite, displayed name is "Stone (Granite)", yields granite(stone) Another metal node looks like an piece of iron ore (grey with red streaks) but only yields stone, flint and cobalt. expected: node that already looks like iron ore, is respectively named "Metal(Iron Ore or Pure Iron)", yields Iron(metal) Another stone node is bright white and looks like calcite but is labeled as "pure radiolarite" yields only that but no calcite. Same with wood types: Trees that very much look like oaks and acorns yield softwood or lightwood, while a palm sapling returns strongwood. resource bark looks like rushes. an obvious cotton plant yields rushes while visually recognizable rushes or fronds yield cotton. fronds yield hemp, bamboo yields jute and so on... Very few truly obvious nodes are named right, like strawberries or coconuts. You got all the pieces available already (graphics, text, resource source code) you only have to put them together in the right order, connect the text strings with the right objects. I know this is quite a minor issue since it doesn't break anything but immersion, BUT it would enrich the game somewhat if what you see is what you get. PS: I tried to attach a screenshot but it wouldn't let me.
