  1. Watch it... not that you hurt yourself by trying to reach for the moral high ground from under the bridge... If you want factions to destroy all PVP... go to WOW, it is there for you... it is made for that... we pirates like to be free... Yeah I know, right? Pirates in a pirate game... crazy...!!!

  5. Land PVP is broken... Ships sink while anchored at land more than they sink in ship PVP... Ship killer Numero Uno is the cannon bear with no offline protection against it (unless you park your ships on a high enough mountain...) Sunken ships make no ship PVP... Hence the focus on land PVP balance - which is also the problem of every other aspect of this game...

  7. As it seems like there will be no general overhaul of the structure system or just adding bigger versions of the current structures (like a 2x2 wall) any time soon... Would it therefore be possible to get an upgrade system like with BP items? This could help with the honeycombing where we have to build multiple structures like walls to get the needed health points we require. It would be like: You build the structure and place it. When you go to the structure with enough resources to say build it again you use the wheel and select upgrade. This will reduce your inventory materials by the amount needed to upgrade the structure - same like when you repair it or upgrade stuff. So for example when you used to build a honeycomb with three walls you just upgrade the first wall two times to get the same HP. But it would still be just one structure and not making performance problems like being three walls. Also bases would need less footprint as we would not need to build outwards to add layers. It would not solve every issue, like where one would go to structure limit even without honeycombing - that would be solved by bigger versions of the structures, pleeeease... It would work with BP structures as they give a HP bonus which also the upgrades would get - but still cost the different number of resources... It should not be done with the special ship parts (planks, decks, sails) as they currently have different way of raising HP (skill: resistance). But it can be done with the normal structures on ships, like ceilings and walls, but the weight should go up accordingly with every upgrade - so you can have a heavy armored ship, with emphasis on heavy. As an incentive to use the system, either the HP per upgrade could be higher that two individual structures. So instead of two walls @10K each you could get maybe 21k for one wall with one upgrade. Or they get no benefit on the HP, but maybe the cost of an upgrade are lower than making the original structure, maybe 90% of the cost... This could also somewhat help make better use of the bigger structures like the large wall. Currently those are just easy to destroy, but easy to build fences. The are nowhere near as protective as the equal size normal wall structure (120 pieces). Currently the large stone wall has 24k, the wall 10k. But you can make ~3-4 large stone walls for 120 stone walls. With the upgrade system that would be just one wall with 72k-96k health total while each normal stone wall would have 10k still. Need a bigger hole like 2x2 it is 40k, 2x4 is 80k, 3x4 is 120k. So with the upgrade to the large wall you would be better of in HP or at least equal. But we save on 119 !!! structures on the server. And think about doors and gates. You might not need those multi gate tunnels opening and closing every single one of them every time (levers help ofcourse)...
  8. As should be obvious from the stream the the problem is since this thing crashed after launch, they don't know what to do and in what direction they new design needs to go... That is why they put XBOX first which is a technical problem that with goals set by others for them (Microsoft)... When this game launched it had an idea what it should be and where it should go... That crashed and burned on day one, because in reality it did not work at initial contact with the enemy (players actually playing)... They did not know what to do, no plan B, and lost complete the initiative... At that point they started to ask the influencers like streamers and largest companies what they wanted... and did that without thinking about it first... Obviously a guy behind a camera loosing in the game is not the best advice to get from... Numbers dropped and so someone came up with an original though: how about we do the same think as worked for ARK? New dinos always brought people back fro ARK lets do this and ARKify the Atlas... crashed and burnt also, because even the ARK players in Atlas came here because of LESS TAMES... At that point they are like a scared animal doing nothing, because they are locked into the thought that everything the tried before failed and so the next thing they try could fail also, so better not do anything... That what was seen on the stream... They know that the main problem is the PVP mechanics... But that is last on the agenda... because "what if we fail to fix it and make it worse again?" So they look at fixing the technical side - thereby buying time for themselves in the hope in between some good idea comes up... They new guy seems to get the PVE side and can see the PVP problem, but seems also not best choice to fix the game/PVP or he gets hold back by the others because "what if" it fails again... We here discuss and make suggestions how to fix the game and they actually are looking at it, as was obvious from the stream. But again as they don't play the game themselves they have no expertise to evaluate those suggestions and fear that they fall for the wrong suggestion... In combat the officer should be a guy that is not necessary right all the time, but at least makes a decision even if in the end it is wrong and fails... because doing nothing and being shell shocked will always fail... They are shell shocked... someone has to relief the officer and take command to get back the initiative...
  9. well, we all know that you are not talking for the XBobs, but against that community and this game, so... Also have no fear, as said, you will be specifically kept save from the un-fun that is joining the community and you can solo your way through the game content on your own as slow as you like... one personal wipe after the other... you can count on us PCBobs that we accommodate everyone to their liking... and that is specifically the problem with your 'I want wipe' idea that XBobs want to start the same way as the PCBobs had to... wipe or no wipe, you will be too slow anyway not understanding the game - as you show in every one of your posts here - against the PCBobs, so that by the moment you encounter them it will be like there was no wipe... so there will be no gain for you anyway... the most likely thing is, that after a wipe the PCBobs will be more aggressive until the get established... so your progression will be reset everytime they encounter you... but you already said you like to restart your game... so you get it good and hard... unfortuantly you will not get a server wipe with it every time it happens... poor baby...

  11. Oh poor Realist... If they dont wipe... the new XBobs will be lvl 51 in 1-2 days, being invited to join the left over guys just by doing maps with them... while Realist is still lvl 8 in Freeport... If the XBobs find a good company they will have easy Kraken by week one plus most of the special skills and can get to lvl 90-100... while Realist is still handfarming for his second schooner... the first one got sunk obviously because he is a lawless... If everything goes according to plan, by week 4-5 the lvl 90+ XBobs will join in wiping Realist on sight with the broken PVP... while he is lvl ~30ish rebuilding his countlessly wiped base again, not having time for maps, to even pay for his useless “autoturrets“, for which he cant afford and maintaibn the NPCs anyway... Somewhere around that time he will get back here and tell us about the good of another wipe needed now... If there is a wipe and the PCBobs need to start fresh, well add another week to the timeline...

  16. PVPer always wants the PVE island 4DaWin!... And if you have such a PVP timer on you, well everyone will have two companies and just move gear from PVP to PVE... like drop your PVP stuff and look away while someone comes by and picks it up by chance... and you know the guy... Please dont tell me the items would transfer the PVP timer to the new owner... than one just need to find a open box form his enemy and put it in, basically giving him a free war token by forcing his enemy into PVP rught on the spot... like police planting drugs on you to bust you... Any such system is too exploitable - if there is just one option to be save the most aggressive PVP oriented players will use it... anyone else would be stupid not to... Again there is no need for this... just fix PVP so you can protect yourself and dont need to cry for outside protections...
  17. Well I didnt became a pirate to server any king... Also if I understand it right there would still be companies, that absorb everything... only that halve of them cant PVP you... Makes no sense at all in solving the problems of the game... just halves the number of players able to wipe you... not the ability to wipe you easily... That is what most of the people not understand... most here a looking for a way out, like if we have factions only halve the players can wipe me, or if we have PVE sectors I could forever live in peace on a PVP server... Just fix the PVP so you can actually protect your stuff... no one here would complain anymore... and ask for PVE like protections... We had better PVP in the beginning until the useless streamers complaint that they could not raid alone and their tames would die to fast... cant have that... so to keep the streamers happy and hopefully bringing in more customers, we lost so many of the playerbase that the streamers left with them... dead game... still stuck with what killed it... one sided PVP...
  18. so your soul is lost to the troll... Faction space, or anything that prevents PVP totally will kill any PVP on the whole server... Currently every big ship battle ends in a Freeport with everyone shit talking, because you cannot do anything... If you can permanently 'hide' stuff in PVE sectors everyone will only be there and no one will risk anything in PVP sectors... When the player count goes up again, it will be like first day with everyone in the few PVE sectors - but this time building giant PVE RP bases and tons of tames each... Lag Fest on steroids... This will unfortunately push out the new and small guys into PVP , because of how broken PVE is in this game and exploitable by big companies spamming you in. In PVP the small guy will be the main - as in only - target for the big guys looking for a fight, which they can't have and will not risk with other big guys. The small guy gets wiped and wiped again and will leave, because of stupid game design that is Factions/PVE sectors on a PVP server... it will be more broken than it is now... Also every problem that people are trying to solve with stupid ideas like Faction space, comes from the same problem... 1. People want protection because they are loosing their stuff too often to continue playing. 2. People loose their stuff because it is too easy to attack and way to impossible to defend even with the biggest amount of structure overload. 3. That is because NPC land defenses are useless against just one cannon bear, especially if you are small and cannot be 24/7 just to defend your stuff by hand. 4. This is due to the current PVP imbalance. The solution to the problem therefore is not to put more stuff in that will break the game even more. But fix the problem that destroys all your stuff 'too often' with no way for players to do anything meaningful about it - Land PVP imbalance... No one here would be talking about Factions or other permanent PVE protections - that will kill PVP - if your Land PVP defenses would work and would cost the attacker the same or more as the defender. At that point you will not get attacked by random cannon bears and not every attack will be a guaranteed success for the attacker, therefore you can defend your stuff meaningful, therefore you keep your stuff longer, therefore you are as save as you want to be/can afford... Currently the imbalance is this: Defender builds 15.000+ structures (because of build limit) over the course of weeks and months to keep his stuff save - gets wiped while offline by a bear (5-10min taming) and a cannon (30min farming)... therefore a bear with a cannon is worth 15.000+ structures and many boats with hundreds of NPC wages and months of time online doing stuff other than sailing and playing the 95% rest of the game contend (because you need to build stuff for your next wipe)... Again, fix PVP and all this goes away... Unfortunately PVP balancing is dead last on the Devs agenda...
  19. well they said that they want to make ship living viable... does not mean that you can make them cheap, but that you not loose them so fast... so no loosing them all the time and re-farming them 'every day'... at that point, when you are not loosing ships so fast, that you can live your entire game on one ship that lasts, the ships can get more expensive again, making them even more dear to you again... and not this throw away thing... by what they said how to do it, it sounded a lot along the line of my suggestions to have a pirating flag system... with surrendering and temporary protection... For ships to not sink so fast, they would have to do something about how ships get incapacitated... maybe also along the line of my suggestion to make the crew the target not so much the ship...
  20. - so they are faster than the cannonballs...? also why only getting wiped by your grid neighbors, when the whole server can come by within the hour...? How about not building overweight ships...? Too easy? - Bob, the game is already permanent 2x, because in the beginning your alter egoists already complained about the long time it took to harvest a ship (by hand) so ut get sunk while anchored... so instead of balancing the PVP they made harvesting 2x flat... magic mythos events are actually 4x base harvesting... slightly slower than just spawning stuff in... - yeah like 1-2hr in a power stone sector... oh i forgot, plus the 10-30min to sail there... the humanity...!!!
  21. There are way lower numbers on PVE and those guys could live on PVP... and have a better PVE experience...

Please dont... we are almost at the point were they could just give us the spawn command for ships... making them cheaper still gets them out at sea... still too easy to sink them anchored... hell it is still too easy to sink them with ship cannons, which is not how it worked in RL (hard to sink a ship with cannon balls, but good for disabling the crew). Why should anyone pirate a ship when it is easier to sink and loot it...? Why should anyone risk a ship if sinking a guaranty...? Make them more expensive... make the crew the thing you disable... make pirating ships finally an option...

You can make it 100x the cost... it is cheaper than having 300-500 NPC to pay and still loose all your stuff in an attack anyway and have to start again... in PVE you do not need defense NPCs and don't loose your shit... See how on PVP everyone tries to get his stuff save in a Freeport somehow and how the Devs have to nerf that... because if it would be viable to stay in PVP Freeport everyone would... I made some suggestions how to get PVE players on the PVP servers... There would be PVP on the sea, so there should be no more complains by the PVE-Bobs about boring sailing... But on land the claimed islands would be PVE protected all the time while the claim flag circle would be PVP all the time... unless the claim flag falls you are in PVE... also because the fight is around the claim flag it could be an incentive to not wipe the settlers (maybe by making claims more expensive with significant drop in price for more settlers on the island)... Then settlers are like a resource - you want it, you fight for it, therefore you protect them... wiping settlers would be bad for your rep, they vote with their feet...
  24. As there is no PVP when there is PVE sector available, dont need to call it PVX or whatever... it is just PVE with arena...
