  1. It is bad, because the enemy can FOB you whenever they want basically, and they can troll you by blocking all with pillars and foundations. I actually think Lawless is better ATM because at least you don't pay upkeep there lol. For me, if it's no-build then it has top be enforced somehow. Take my flag and then build where you want, but you need to kill me first and unclaim my turf. Edit: we who PVP know that the difference between this and PUBG is the limited number of spawn places and resources. If you have a base ready full of both, then it is that much easier to conquer the claim. If you are forced to come by chip and use bear cannons, then ship is all you got in means of respawn and resource, making it that much harder.
  2. Thanks for the post. Gems can be found on mountain tops, and your area should have rubies there. Think they changed how they look. If you searched around the L cluster where climate is South-east temperate, you should have found the rubies. Claim system works pretty much as you described (and thank you for the gold calculation), except the pinwheel destruction thing. Owners can not destroy anything with E, even if it is built 1 minute before. People who played 50% tax do not want you there. Let them pay their own upkeep then. Personally, it is ok to have tenants because they make paying for island easier. I have it set on 22% now, and when thing goes live I will have x2 less.
  3. Well, I do play intensively instead of being a forum nerd, and I conquered another person's claim, and now I have that claim. You may not remove anything with E even if another person builds it in front of you that very moment. The only options are cannons, mortars and explosive barrels in case it's stone. One may actually foundation spam the entire island if they chose to troll someone, but luckily it is x6 now, and I don't expect trolls to work that hard on x1 to really do that. EDIT: and to add on top of all that, lawless areas do NOT have damage decay, instead they work as before. This thing actually makes lawless very viable, because they do not cost upkeep and initial gold to claim, while claim flag does. The only thing that is good ATM regarding claimed, is the ORP period.
  4. As I see it, you can NOT use E to destroy ANYTHING, in ANY time. someone who actually plays the game should know that.
  5. I am now even beginning to think that there will be so few returning players that we will actually be able to claim and hold on pvp.
  6. He needs a goal - I will be taking him with me on PVP and while I am busy farming and making the 1001th puckle and greek swivel, he will be building a pve town, and I will even allow him to paint it whole.0
  7. It fits in that period tech wise, with the exception of a carabine. For gods’ sake, it even has a pike and a bow, resembling a “pike and shot” from late 1400s. Even the sub looks like something from DaVinci’s Florence workshop
  8. Ha, considering Martin’s delays, these feel like a child’s play. Having re-watched that season recently, I have to say it was by far better than season 5, with Arya’s plot being the most boring part. Also, being a fan of Jon= (Ashara)Dayne + (Ned)Stark and (yet TBA)= Lyanna+ Rheagar, I was kinda dissapointed how Martin caved in to HBO and fanbase there, and now we have what we have, even though the books allowed other variations as well. But aye, the season is a piece of art.
  9. Well, I don't know where the PTR is, it is not here with me, that is for sure.
  10. Well, you are wrong - it is not the game where piracy is main theme. It is only one way to play the game. The time period I mentioned would be it, yes, and do not forget Atlas world is not Earth itself, it is an entirely different universe, with lore still unexplained to us. But no, it is not a pirate game. Try Naval action or Sid Meier's Pirates, and even that Microsoft's thing, DK how it is called - these are your pirate games. Atlas is Ark 2.0. kinda, and it is how I like it.
  11. Don’t worry Marty, it ain’t on yet. May i recommend binging the whole Season 6 and 7 of GoT as the preparation for new season that is coming soon. After that, you will still have some time to recover from binging, have some food and coffee, before the new Project status update (can’t remember how they call it , captain’s something, right before the PT server comes online).
  12. It is not a “game of pirates”. And pirates is not even a main theme eventhough there are some pirate costumes in game. It is a sandbox survival MMO set in an aquatic world resembling of Earth renaiscance period.
  13. With age like that, we know we have lived over 1/2 of our life, or less xD Later on, I reckon, comes the acceptance.
  14. If the measuring unit is centimeters, and if your wife says so...
  15. Semantically you are right - this does fit into Massively Multiplayer Roleplaying game or Many Men Online RolePlaying Girls, as you like it. I was aiming more at the characteristics of modern Mmorpgsthat I mentioned, many of which I find not adrenaline raising enough, so I prefer to call it online survival sandbox game, rather than mmorpg.
  16. I played as mostly solo on pvp official until lately when I started merging my allies into me, and my animals have been thru alot; yet against the odds they lived till I stopped playing. It was darn hard choice - leaving and not coming back to feed them. Recently I heard the wolves are still alive - they can feed on their own and have been on the open. They were good pets and great fighters and If i decide that I liked the new Atlas I shall be resurrecting them for sure.
  17. ...at best. Fully expecting another delay.
  18. To resume , if I understood it all correctly: 1. island owners (if we ever manage to own and claim one in the first place) set 9 hours in a day when they can be wiped in their own island 2. this can be negated with item.WarToken (costs gold) with which you can be wiped for 24 hours straight, after which it expires So, if all above is true, you will be able to set that 9 hours yourself, when you are not expecting to be working or parenting or etc etc. If you can not be on for 9 hours straight, and expcting attack, well, maybe survival sandbox isn’t something you can afford playing. But honstly, these 9 hours of vulnerability in a day is more than the zerg needs to wipe small tribe. At least it will give you a fighting chance, so you can say you died defending.
  19. Will the enemies be able to build sea towers just nest to my claimed island, and use that as a pre built FOB? Will island owners have the ability to demolish sea structures that are near their islands by pressing E within 12 hours?
  20. Lots of content there, briefly skimmed thru it. As a person coming from ark and wanting ark 2 and not a mmorpg, I for one am against the turn to what you typically know as a “mmorpg” these days. This includes but is not limited to: prebuilt castles, overly controlled game modes, preexisting factions, npc quests, npc vendors, and inability to actually lose bases, npcs and gear. While some of what you wrote I can agree with, I am generally pro sandbox survival online game, and generally against the “mmorpg” concepts said above.
